Upgrade of VCS 6.1 to 7.2

I plan go my VCS control and version 6.1 to 7.2 highway.

Do I need a license to upgrade to make it work?  Also will be the keys different option still installed after the upgrade?

Hi Ben,

Yes, you need a software license key separated for the upgrade to the 6.1 to 7.2.

You can get the license key by writing to [email protected] / * / and provide the serial number of the boxes of VCS.

Also note the software that you download from the site of cisco, when you perform the upgrade. There are both encrypted and unencrypted version.

then download the software you paid for

Also, please follow the procedure to upgrade from vcs in the VCS cluster guide as when you take the vcs on x6.1 backup, you need to run the sequence of commands before doing the backup.

mkdir/tandberg/persist/oti

mkdir/tandberg/persist/management

keys opiton would remain after the upgrade. However please note the same or take screen shot before that you were going to upgrade.

see you soon

    Hello

We need to get a new license when upgraded version of VCS, VCSe and TMS?

    Hi Kelvin,

xxx. OVA files are package files to deploy the VCS on virtualize platforms.

Release key are required to upgrade the VCS for major updates. for p. ex. upgrade of x 6 x 7 software version worm.

However for improvements minor as x7.2 to x7.2.2 these are the released hotfix version or bux fixes release and you don't need a license for this upgrade.

in any case if you your devices are less covered by valid contract you can get the license key anytime just contact cisco license team on "[email protected] / * /" and they should be able to provide the necessary license.

  • Problems with calls after upgrade of VCS 8.22

I've recently updated one of my devices VCS to 8.2.2, but I am having some problems.

    The Setup is as follows:

    VCS-C-1: X8.2.2
    VCS-E: 7.2
    VCS-C-2: 7.2

    EX90s: 7.2

    EX90 > VCS-C-1 (8.2.2) > neighbor area > VCS-E (7.2) > Traversal area > VCS-C-2 (7.2)

Call is SIP all the way.

Calls fail in both directions (connects but no audio or video).  Was working fine before the upgrade of VCS-C-1 of 7.2 to 8.2.2.

If I change the adjacent area of VCS-C-1 to the VCS-E uses a profile of "Custom" with "Duo Video Filter" in position "On", it works very well, although this way I can't use presentation properly.  Even if I have introduced interoperability in any part of the path of the call (force a leg to H323), it works, but again, interoperability has its own set of questions.  Finally, if I register at each endpoint to the VCS-E, everything works, it works just not when you browse all three hop calls.

The VCS-E is controlled by me, so can be improved if necessary, however VCS-C-2 is in another organization, the upgrade is likely to be much more difficult.

I know that there are changes to the way video Duo works in X 8 - I noticed that it's moved from an overall command of SIP for by area, I guess it has something to do with it.

    Any ideas?

Please try to put "Sip media encryption" on page traversal area setting to 'best effort' and give it a try

  • Error when you try to upgrade the VCS to X7.2.1

I get notification on TMS that VCSC and VCSE both must move from X6.2 to X7.2.1.  I point to the software that has been downloaded automatically, enter the unlock key that was provided, and then the system stops to and returns with system error: Installation failed, corrupted uploaded image.

Then I try to download version directly on the Cisco site, start the update, enter the release key and then get error "invalid unlock key.  I want to turn in circles of im.  Please notify.

    Hi Brad,

I think you should re - download the software because it might contain a few CRC errors.

I also checked the key to release of X7.x for the AES (s42700x7_2_1.tar.gz) version, and it should start with 588 and end by 030 for your VCS. It is the key to unlocking with that you try? "588 * 030.

If you use the encrypted version by default the software, and you try to download with the key to unlocking above, so I think that you just download this file again. Please also note that the package (installation) if _not_ be extracted before uploaded to VCS (should end with.tar.gz).

If you have problems with the download of your browser, try downloading the file with a client FTP (ftp://ftp.tandberg.com/pub/software/vcs/x7/s42700x7_2_1.tar.gz).

    Hope this helps,

  • Upgrade to VCS 5 - found corresponding license No.

Trying to upgrade my server Vcenter 4.1 to 5.0.  I have improved my license to 5.0 vmware licenses on-site.  However when I try to install the Vcenter server, when I get to the customer information screen and plug the new license number I get a pop-up "No license found".

    Any idea what's going on?

    Thank you

    Joe

Just for this rule out as a cause of available.

Did you check if you are using the appropriate key (vCenter Server VS. CPU ESXi)? Also, make sure that you do not miss a character/number when you copied the key from the portal.

  • VCS upgrade through TMS to X7.1

    Hi outhere.

With 'Software Manager' in article 13.2 of TMS, it seems to be a problem. Download S42700x7_1_0.tar.gz does not work.

    Is there a known problem?

How can I upgrade without TMS VCS?

    I hope someone can help

    Martin

You can upgrade the VCS directly by logging into the web page of VCS and will interview--> update and download the new file.

  • VCS version 6.0 to 6.1 invalid key upgrade

    Hi all

I'm trying to upgrade a VCS 6.0 to 6.1 control but every time about halfway through the process, I get the message "invalid release key" and the process will stop.  I tried leaving blank the key field of the release at the beginning of the upgrade process and tried to enter the key of the current release.  The two attempts to return the same results.  I was under the impression that a new unlock key is not necessary for minor version.  Indeed, next to the entry field it is said that it is not necessary for press.  Has that changed or did I miss something?

    Hi William,.

Could you provide me the SN of the VCS?

You are right that you should not need a key to unlock for an upgrade to 6.0 to 6.1. It's sometimes confusing on what version of VCS to download from Cisco website. There are two versions. AES (encrypted) and non - AES (unencrypted).

Most customers will have to download the package s42700x6_1_0.tar.gz. (AES)

Check if you have downloaded s42701x6_1_0.tar.gz. (non - AES)

    Thank you

  • UPDATE to VCSE VCS Starter Pack Express

    Hello community support.

just a quick question for the upgrade process. With this key:

Video Communication Server Starter Pack Upgrade to VCS Expressway - TMS, Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence 100 users CTI-VCSE-SPUPG-K9 TTC2-04

I can add as an option on my VCSESTRTPACK and remove the pack before starter option. After that, I have a VCSE without refueling.

But what of the Jabber user? How did the license provided for me?

Can I install just the touch option even on MSDS and this will add 100 user of Jabber for her? Or do I have to buy a separate license for this?

Thank you for the support :)

    From what I found online:

    • You can convert the Starter Pack, either a control or highway depending on what part number you use (CTI-VCSC-SPUPG-K9 or CTI-VCSE-SPUPG-K9).
    • You will lose the integrated supply management and Jabber video/Movi licenses.
    • You will retain licensing additional call that have been purchased on top of the base call licenses.
    • You will receive basic application of TMS + 100 licenses video/Movi Jabber.

  • How can I set the resolution to 1080 p using SIP H.323 or SIP protocols H.323 by VCS on EX90, C60 both?

Hi, I'm an engineer junior network in Korea.

and, for the first time, I apologize for my bad writing to read in uncomportable. Sorry, as eng is not my mother tongue.

I tested on SIP to SIP and H.323 to H.323 call. These cases are all correctly, in 1080P(1920*1080),

    BUT

SIP to H.323 or H.323 SIP dosen't work through VCS. The types of devices are EX90, C60.

Status of devices: HD-resolution activated license, 6000K, the default bandwidth

and there is no external problems, because it is the TURN of test on the same LAN.

I tried several times, but these devices connect sometimes 720P(1280*720) and sometimes each other 1080 p resolution.

Is anyone knows how to put the devices in trouble their 1080 p not 720 p resolution?

I'll look forward to your good kindness.

    Please read my bad writing.

Jinsung salvation.  It would be important to know what SW version running on the CV.  Before X7.1, VCS would set lines for SIP step of BW calling in 1920, and this is fixed in this version.  I would like to ask, if you can, upgrade your VCS to X7.1 and try the call again.  It is perhaps what is you covering for the moment and achieve 1080 p on Interworking call.

    CSCtx32717

Symptoms: A call interworked will find its video bandwidth, capped at 2 Mbps in one direction.

Conditions: Video sent by the side of the SIP in the H323 will be capped at 2 Mbps. This may cause a different codec being chosen, or a lower bandwidth on the favorite codec.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/VCs/release_note/Cisco_VCS_Release_Note_X7-1.PDF

    You can try:

Workaround would be to set optimal definition to high on both
endpoints or avoid interworking to achieve 1080p in the meantime.

    Let us know the outcome.

    Thanks in advance.

  • VCS - C and VCS-E switch to x8.7

Hi, I plan on upgrading to VCS version x8.7 (of x8.2) to meet the needs of encryption for a RMC-cloud deployment and looking for some feedback from the community on a number of things:

-I shouldn't need a key to unlock because the upgrade is the same version, correct?

-J' need to upgrade the VCS - C and VCS - E with the same version of software, correct?

N ' needs nothing to do away with the MCU? We are currently at version 4.5 software (1.45).

    Thanks for your help,

    Brad

Release keys are only required if the major software version changes, minor changes for example, ranging from X8.2 to X8.7 does not require a key to unlocking.

VCS - C and E must be on the same version, the only time where they should be on separate versions is when software updates.

Nothing should be changed from the MCU.

  • Cisco VCS Expressway / Starter Pack = part number / Option key

    Hello

I m a bit confused about ordering cisco information. My document: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/unified-communications/...

First what we want to do. Quick and short: LAN-MCU -/- DMZ-VCSE VM -/-

-set up a new environment VCSE only for remote workers.

-ensure the video service just over the internet for Jabber and SIP/h.323 conference systems

-only the MCU as a peripheral local registerd to provide several conferences

That share and option key is therefore the best choice?

    Our plan:

    VCSE:

R VMVCS-EXPWY-K9 (comes with the Cisco telepresence video Communication Server(OVA file) Network Interface feature, characteristic of the motorway, gateway functionality, 1800 TURN relay Option, VCS-Dual)

    1. what inscriptions? There are 2500 built-in?
2 what of interoperability feature for h.323/SIP? CAN´t find in the list options.

    Options:

    LIC-VCSE-50, LIC-VCS-OCS

    Now the thing of Jabber:

We want to connect on WAN Jabber clients. This is why the VCSE STRATER PACK has the nice feature of 50 video of Jabber Cisco TelePresence licenses with management in there. But if we get that the CTI-VCS-STPAK-K9 instead of the VCSEVM, we have a limitation of 50 records and 10 calls trasversal, right? Only then the VCSE is intresting (culture and systems to support), but we want the Jabber options on it without buying an MSD.

1 can we install the CTI-VCS-STPAK-K9 key as an option on the VCSEVM and Jabber use 50 records without losing other features of Highway?
2 or is it possible to install the CTI-VCSE-SPUPG-K9 key as an option to enable Cisco Jabber 100 user on this VCSEVM?

Or do we buy the CTI-TMS-SW-K9 with LIC-MOVI-25 (the different today: LIC-JAB-MOB-25, LIC-TMS-EP-25)

    Thanks a lot for answering

One of the first things I would consider on VCS Starter Pack is that it is almost end of sale, first of September 2014, so think of this forward.

    / EOS-EOL-Notice-C51 - 731300.html

    • What these records? There are 2500 built-in?

      • A single VCS will support up to 2500 records out of the box with a valid key.
    • As for the functionality of H323/SIP Interworking?
      • Interoperability is supported out of the box as long as no separate option key not required.
    • Options: LIC-VCSE-50, LIC-VCS-OCS
      • LIC-VCS-OCS is necessary only if you plan to integrate with Microsoft OCS/Lync VCS, otherwise it is not necessary, especially for the video of Jabber.
    • Can we install the CTI-VCS-STPAK-K9 key as an option on the VCSEVM and Jabber use 50 records without losing other features of Highway?
      • The VCS Starter Pack is a separate server from the VCS control and highway.
    • Or is it possible to install the CTI-VCSE-SPUPG-K9 key as an option to enable Cisco Jabber 100 user on this VCSEVM?
      • It is possible to upgrade a VCS Starter Pack for VCS control or a highway, but you will lose the original pack starter call licenses and Jabber video optoins, like they are not transferable.  The licenses or options you have purchases on top of the basic starter pack will however is transferable.
    • Or do we buy the CTI-TMS-SW-K9 with LIC-MOVI-25 (the different today: LIC-JAB-MOB-25, LIC-TMS-EP-25)
      • If you buy the VCS Starter Pack, it will manage the delivery of Jabber video for you.  If you buy a highway of VCS, you can also buy MSD and install Extension of provisioning of TMS is free.  To use TMSPE, you will need provisioning option keys installed in TMS, the difference between the start-up option keys are simply the types of devices you can fund, all kind of do the same thing really, but for the video of Jabber, you want to ICA-MOVI-XX.
  • VCS update X5.1.1 to X7.2.2

    Hi all

We need upgarde our client VCS-E and VCS - C of X5.1.1 to X7.2.2. Read the Release Notes, I found that I must first be upgraded to X5.2 then X7.2.2. The first update do not require unlocking new keys, but for the second we need new keys for unlocking.  There is also a TMS 12.6 used to supply.

Can you please indicate confirm the steps above X5.1.1 X5.2 to X7.2.2 upgrade? for VCS-E and VCS - C?

I also saw a note comment about covers them authentication.  apparently once upgrade is all areas and subareas (except the default Zone) authentication is set to "treat as authenticated.  As no auth is activate now.  Does this mean I have to turn it off once completed upgarde?

Finally can you tell me how long it takes to do?  As I will need to plan this work out of opening hours.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ahmed

    Hi, Ahmed.

First thing is that I will not go in one fell swoop. You can go in the parts actually.

-If you have any installation of replication between MSDS and stood then you turn off gracefully.

-go ahead and upgrade to x5.2 VCS and take a backup for VCS and VCS-E time.

-go and upgrade to x6.1 then x7.2.2,

consult the Notes version of VCS for more details.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/VCs/release_note/Cisco_VCS_Release_Note_X7-2-2.PDF

I also suggest you to install the TMS last version 14.3 and switch mode provisioning TMS extension if you previously active provisioning.

Yes, this is true for a minor update like 5.1 to 5.2 key would be same and for major update, you need to separate key release.

come to part of authentication, the areas are defined on ' treat as authenticated "when you upgrade is because the upgrade of VCS is troubled not customer enviornment.

areas have three authentication supported "do not verify the credentials", 'powers of audit', & 'treat as authenticated.

treat as authenticated is the safest option at all than VCS in this case be sure that what cross is an authentic asks and proceed to demand. Other options that might hinder the peformance.

to upgrade a server takes 20 min but I will propose you to take a good break and plan ahead.

  • VCS - C and VCS-E switch to 7.2.2 8.1

    Hello Experts,

We want to deploy Jabber via Expressway Edge (ARM) solution and we must improve our course VCS-C and E servers (7.2.2).

We have a few old polycoms I wonder if the upgrade of VCS may break legacy polycoms.

TMS units and MCU does not require the upgrade.

Recording methods recording of an endpoint of the VCS has not changed, so if your endpoints are now save correctly, they should continue to do the upgrade so.following.

Support for some of the older devices of Polycom fell in new versions of TMS, so if you are considering upgrading from TMS at any time, you may need to close look at the release notes.

Please note that it is changed a bit between X 7 and X 8 port, so make sure that before any upgrade, you had a good thorough read of version X8.1.1 and notes to any firewall for ports has changed.

PS - You should X8.1.1 on the VCSes, not only X8.1, as X8.1.1 the OpenSSL software vulnerability patches.

  • VCS - C 7.2.2 to VCS - E with X8.1.1

    Hi all

Is it possible for a plan temporary, to let him continue to run the VCS - C with X7.2.2 and the VCS-E with X8.1.1?

It's only for a short period, because I can not update the VCS - C so little time im waiting for Maintenance Windows.

    any input appriciated.

    Thank you

    Concerning

    Georg

The 'official', 'sustained' answer that was given before was No - VCS - C and VCS-E must be upgraded to X8.1 at the same time.

Edit: Here is the link to the thread where the representatives of Cisco (Christos and Alok) said above: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11720871/vcs-expressway-and-control-different-versions

Others have had luck running in a mixed environment (response from Chris see here) - there are a few other establishments if you do a search.

If it's for a "short period" and you're ready to take the risk of it not working do not and after fix / downshift again, and do not have a solution "supported", then, depending on your areas of course and the requirements for media multiplexing - it can work for you until you can upgrade your VCS - C - in my environment I cannot afford to do and dangled for a X7.x version which includes the software fixes.

  • Research directory movi X7.2.2 VCS & TMS 14.3.1 question

    Hello

I just upgraded a VCS to X7.2.2 control and the TMS to 14.3.1.  The TMS was previously running 13.1.1 with TMS Agent for the provision to users of Movi.  I foloowed the TMS Cisco upgrade procedure and went to 13.2 and installed TMSPE V1.0.  VCS has moved the TMS Agent Provisioning extension.  After that all the checkups showed OK, TMS has been improved 14.3.1 and TMSPE in version 1.1.

TMSPE health check shows all green elements and the configured users group has access to the relevant directory.  VCS show all users, entries, contact methods, files and access control was imported from TMS.

I disabled TLS SIP VCS settings and ran a Wireshark capture on a laptop with the registered customer of Movi.  My search request for [email protected] / * / field can be seen with the search string in the body of the message.  A response is also indicating that no match could be found, despite several exisitng entries in the phone book.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem will be received with gratitude.

    Thank you, Paul Richardson

What Movi version are you running?

Do you have the schematic for this version in TMSPE and you set up a model based on this scheme?

What is a single VCS or cluster?

What type of directory or sources you associate with the phone book?

I guess you see entries in the directory and source of pb? And these are the entries of type SIP, i.e. [email protected] / * /?
