Upgrade to Vista - no sound - Intel 82801db

Just upgraded my laptop to Vista Home Premium Gateway 7320GZ.  Everything seems to work fine except no sound.  Gateway supports NOT this laptop to Vista.  When XP had installed, I'd swear there was audio Conexant.

I saw the other posts with similar questions, the upgrade of the Gateway laptops, but not solutions. Why are these chipsets not recognized correctly under Vista?

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

If no Audio driver Vista are available at the front door, you're on lucky.

See you soon.

Hi, I had the problem that I had no sound after upgrade to Vista Business.

After several attempts to get a solution from Toshiba I found myself.

Here are the steps to resolve this problem:

    1. update the Bios to version 3.5
2 do a clean install of Vista
    3. install the added value of package
    4 install the audio driver
5 install the patch "mute off".

    Should work now.

I just upgraded to vista and I lost my audio. I tried all the latest orders, still no luck. The pc says the driver is installed and the device works correctly, but I can't hear anything. Volume is 100% also.

I noticed the same problem on the satellite U200. After upgrading from XP to Vista there is no sound, but the audio driver has been correctly installed and audio chipset has also been recognized correctly.

After a long investigation, I found a solution here in the forum.
First, it was important to increase the volume to the maximum with XP installed. Together sound controls must also be set to max.
Be sure to use the RIGHT driver sound after the new installation of Vista.

  • Tecra M7: Upgrading to Vista SP1 of XP - what drivers/utilities to use?

I'm installing from a DVD of MS Vista with SP1 included. Then, direct upgrade to Vista SP1. Vista is in and everything seems to work fine, except the screen rotation and probably a few specific applications, I've not yet tried.

Toshiba offers a set of drivers and utilities for upgrades from Vista. Some of them are for 2006 and 2007.

I think that if everything works well, why rock the boat?

So I'm looking to install only the drivers and utilities that Vista does not already cover. Minimum play.

    Hello

    > I think if everything works well, why rock the boat?
I agree with you that I would install only the drivers that are really needed.

    In my opinion, you need:
    Display driver
    Flash Media Driver
    Audio driver
    Touch Pad Driver
    Value Added Package
    LAN and WLan driver

In my opinion, these applications are recommended
Other software like driver Config Free, Bluetooth, Fingerprint Software, etc. are not neccessry for me because I don't use it every day or every time

  • Upgrade of Vista SP2-loss of internet connection

I upgraded a VISTA 64 laptop computer to SP2 yesterday evening.  He seems to have retained my 802.11n network configuration, but since the upgrade will connect only locally, not to the internet via the wireless connection.  (It is not a problem with my network or modem, as another VISTA laptop wireless and other devices will continue to work properly.)  The ethernet connection works fine. I tried:

    • disable the firewall (Norton)
    • Diagnose and repair
    • confirmed connection to the router
    • newspapers of router checked-only MAC address is not blocked
    • updated the Intel 4965AGN driver to the latest version

Any suggestions?  I am reluctant to completely recede SP2 unless absolutely necessary.

    lopburi3,

This looks exactly like my question.  While I do not understand what has happened, I found a solution. Try this:

    • Log into your router and check what IP address is assigned to the computer that is not connecting.  If there is no assignment yet, give it a static address.
    • Go into your wireless connection TCP/IP properties and enter the manual configuration information: IP address assigned, the subnet mask and the router (default gateway) address.

For me, allowed me to connect through Internet.

    Edit:
as a first step, I had to re - enter the manual configuration after each reboot, and my router would not correctly identify the MAC address of my laptop (he appeared as 00:00:00:00:00:00).  After a couple more re - start last night, the computer retains the settings, so I could connect without having to re-enter the configuration, if the router is not yet MAC address list.

I've then updated the firmware on my router last night.  (D-Link DIR-655)  Now, after another reboot, everything seems to work properly, with the portable duly identified in the router. There was clearly a problem with the network adapter and the router communicates correctly. brodyboy

By definition, means a 'upgrade' (as opposed to a new installation)
that all data, programs, etc. are kept intact.

There is however no guarantee that it always works perfectly.
However unlikely, it is always possible that something can go wrong.
That is why he is careful to make sure you have a backup of anything
You can't afford to lose before you start.

What kind of program is it? What you describe is very rare.

  • HI THE INABILITY TO UPGRADE FROM VISTA TO WINDOWS7, I HAD TO DO A CUSTOM INSTALLATION. ALL MY VISTA FILES WERE PUT IN AN OLD FILE IN WINDOWS, I CAN STILL ACCESS FILES LIKEMS ŒUVRES.

DURING THE UPGRADE FROM VISTA TO 7 W I HAD MANY ATTEMPTS TO UNINSTALL WINDOWS MAIL, WHICH HAS BEEN THE STUMBLING BLOCK TO A NEW INSTALLATION, I ENDED UP MAKING A BET TO LEVEL CUSTOM, WHICH WAS OK, EVERYTHING IS OPERATIONAL, BUT MY OLD WINDOWS FILES HAVE BEEN PLACED IN A SEPARATE FILE OLD WINDOWS THAT I HAVE PROBLEMS TO ACCESS, AS I WANT TO USE FOR EXAMPLE MS WORKS

    Hello

Sounds more like you did a clean install on a new folder without formatting. If this is the case, you can retrieve data from the windows.old folder, but programs like MSWorks will need to be reinstalled from their original installation media. An update includes necessary registry entries and transfer program files, a fresh install in a new folder does not work. Microphone does not work after upgrade from Vista Home Premium to win 7 Home Basic Edition. Laptop model Sony Vaio VGN-NS25G, bought in India

My built-in mic not working anymore after the upgrade from Vista Home Premium to win 7 Home Basic Edition. Model laptop Sony Vaio VGN-NS25G was bought in India. I have taken the loacl Sony Service Center and they said that Windows 7 drivers for the microphone Sony was not yet available. They mentioned that the only way to fix the problem was to upgrade to Vista. Is this true? Where can I get these drivers for the microphone, and they are not available, when will they be available?

    Hello

    Method 1.
Interestingly, I found the drivers for Windows 7 for this particular model of Vaio. Here is link thye:
    http://www.Sony-Asia.com/support/download/362654/product/VGN-ns25g/sectionfirst?subpage=detail

I suggest updating all your drivers from the link above and drivers Realtek especially.

Method 2. Set the default Microphone.

Once the drivers installed to check if the microphone is the default value, here's how:

Exercise the functions mentioned below to adjust the Microphone as default:
    1. Click Start and click on Control Panel.
    2. click on sound, then a new window will open.
    3. in the new windows, click on the 'Registration' tab and right click in the window and click Show disabled devices.
    4. now check if the Microphone is listed there and right-click on it and choose activate.
    5. turn highlighted that Microphone and click "set as default".

  • Satellite M70 - I want to upgrade to Vista

    Hello.

Three days before I seek assistance and advice in this thread if I upgrade a Satellite M70 (PSM71) of XP - Pro to Vista.
Thanks for the advice coming from Luke_1 & Eldorado I could do my studies before the upgrade.

Today I was searching Internet and I found this page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/tsb7201sk002hr01.htm

This page tell me that my computer is not supported to be upgraded from Toshiba.

    So, what can I do?
    Thank you.

    Hello!

    Why start a new thread?

However, the Satellite M70 (PSM70) is ranked on the site of Toshiba notebook compatible for an upgrade to Vista.
The PSM71 is similar to the PSM70 and on the site of Toshiba, that I can find all the drivers for Vista you need.

So you can upgrade it to Vista.

    Good bye
