  Provided the specifications of the computer meets Windows XP you can switch from 2000 to XP. If it does not meet the specifications, you may upgrade the computer first or get a new one which is more cheaper today.

  I'm sorry, but you will need a Windows 9 x / ME drive to provide during the XP installation from the XP disc is a version upgrade. There is no way around that. See if you can find a friend with an older operating system disk (not a recovery disk) to support qualification.   You should upgrade to 10 Windows through Windows instead of DVD/USB.
  If you have installed own DVD/USB, you will get a Win10 key.

  Once you do the upgrade, you can reset Windows, that is identical to a clean installation of DVD/USB.

  There is no "Windows 7 antivirus."  Though is an installation of Windows 7 from XP (which requires a disc format) is almost certainly going to get rid of your current malware problem (there are some "boot sector" virus rare which can survive with a format), you can quickly end up in a similar situation unless you change which seems to be not not very safe computing habits.

  The application named "Windows Defender", which is built into Windows 7 is only an anti-spyware tool (also true of Windows Defender for XP and Vista).  You need an antivirus application as well.  Microsoft Security Essentials is the current Microsoft free antivirus app.  As I understand it, MSE is good enough, although I'd rather pay for ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

  Whatever you choose, only run a real-time antivirus application, although it is perfectly fine to perform periodic analyses to use another tool.  In addition, it is very important to keep your system up-to-date by setting Windows Update runs automatically.  You must keep your applications up to date as well, because the attacks thanks to various applications such as Adobe Acrobat are not unknown.

  Unfortunately, it seems that your hacker friend installed an improved version of Windows 7 and now it is not authentic so it will not be updated.

  You can try the suggestions in this post from TechNet and see if you can correct it. I used your error message to find this info.

  If you are not successful this, then you should contact HP to get reinstall disks so that you can install the version of Windows 7 OEM. You will have to do all the updates, but it should be able to do.

  Unless you have an email or a packaging of retail with an improved version of Windows and a key, you will encounter this kind of problem. The version of your operating system must match the key you have.

However, I had to get a new driver for my HP Laserjet 3030 of HP to make it work with Windows 7. Their only choice was a universal driver for this printer. That worked well, except that I lost all my other features All in One printer scanner IE. The scanner is waiting for the PC, but it resets after 30 seconds without analyzing. I looked for additional drivers solve, but HP does not seem to offer to those who understand the scanner. Any suggestions?

  And Yes, I have a PDF reader and a printer. None of them has no menu to offer a solution. All suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

  After more reflection and lack of comments on this issue, I decided to install XP virtual emulation to solve the problem. I use the scanner from time to time, is important to my home office, but can work with the obligation to switch to XP. I installed the feature on my computer from my wife when its software would not work in Windows 7 and it works fine. I think this solve my problems until HP gets with the program and supports drivers in order to cover all the features of the Laserjet 3030 All in one. Hope that this announcement will help others who have the same problem.
