Upgrade to Windows 7 - will be present take less space on my hard drive in Vista?

I have a HDD partitioned - C drive only has 30 G - and I'm running out of space. The only thing on the C drive is Windows and any update of software that I can't install it on the other drive. (Auto updates of java, adobe, etc.)  Office, other software, I added are all installed on the second partitioned drive.

I constantly receive updates Microsoft security - and it keeps taking more space.

I think I deleted all unnecessary software.

Upgrading to Windows 7 free up some hard drive space?

Hi jehsc,

Windows 7 is essentially Windows Vista with additional coding so it will not less space than Vista, it can take up quite a bit more. You cannot extend the partition (assuming you have unallocated space next to your current partition)? My system Windows 7 (Ultimate) as well as other software applications takes up 42 GB of space, but I allocated 200 GB of space for my Windows 7 Partition. Obviously the 200 GB is not really necessary, but I have the space on my hard drive, so I return to Windows 7. I do not, however, make like you and installed the software on a second partition. The main reason why I don't do it is because, frankly, I do not think that this happened so every advantage in terms of performance.

  • on my iCloud drive files take up space on my hard drive?

I'm always running out of space on the hard drive of my MacBook Pro. The most important issue seems to be the library and Documents Mobile is the largest. But when I look inside I find the name of the folder as if by magic going on MacBook Pro / My Files / Library / Mobile Documents for MacBook Pro / My Files / library / iCloud Drive.  I thought that the purpose of paying extra for space on my iCloud drive should free up space on my hard drive.

Am I what's on my hard drive on my laptop iCould mirroring drive?  Is there a way to stop this?

iCloud is a synchronization system, not an external 'hard drive '. If you delete them from your computer, they will delete icloud.

  • Why Windows 7 did install system files on my secondary internal hard drive, preventing it to be formatted or considered a Windows backup location?

My computer has a Seagate hard drive 500 GB internal SATA that has the operating system on it and also a secondary internal Seagate IDE HDD 80 GB that I was drag files on a backup. I tried to format this drive of 80 GB to get a fresh start and use Windows backup to back up my files. Windows 7 will not format the drive, and he does not see the drive as a location of backup because apparently the clean installation of the Windows operating system, updated system files on the secondary drive. Disk management reports the operating system drive (500 GB one) as "disk 1-Boot, Page File, crash dump, primary Partition. It reports the secondary drive (the 80 GB one I would use with Windows Backup) as "disk 0-system, active, primary Partition". I would very probably disconnect the secondary drive and do other clean install of Windows 7, so he places all the files on the hard drive and do not involve the secondary drive, so I can format the secondary drive and use backup Windows? Or y at - it another way to fix this without doing a clean install? Thanks for any help!

To create a new, full backup

After you create your first backup, Windows backup will add new information or changed to your subsequent backups. If you save your backups on a hard drive or network, Windows backup will create a new backup, full for you automatically if necessary. If you save your backups on CDs or DVDs and could not find an existing backup disk, or if you want to create a new backup of all the files on your computer, you can create a full backup. Here's how to create a full backup:

    1. Open backup and restore by clicking on the button start , clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance and then click Backup and restore.

    2. In the left pane, click on create new, full backup.

      Note

You will see this option if your backup is saved on CD or DVD.
