  Hello

  I currently have vsphere 4 running esx 4.1 u1.  VMware View is at version 4.5 with the connection to the server running on a Windows 2003 server.  I downloaded all the files needed for the upgrade: agent ConnctionServer 4.6, composer and view.

  I deployed a Server 2008 R2 and installed 4.6 ConnectionServer seen as a 'Standard' server - not yet configured.

  The next steps that I intend to take are:

  data backup of the server (Server 2003) view connection - with the help of vdmexport - turn on this server

  Composer on the vCenter server upgrade

  import data from connection to the new Server 2008 R2 server - using vdmimport

  installation of new officers on basic images (we have related clones) redial

  Ensure that the thin clients (Wyse V10L) point to the correct connection server ip

  Is this the best way to perform this upgrade/deploy new server connection?

  Y does it have to be absent from any gotcha?

  Vdmadmin s s (server name) - r allows you to remove a broker for connections in the replication group.    I always disable from the portal admin to view before I delete it.  Not sure you really must do it, but it's just something I did.

  I need to improve my view Vsphere 4.1-based infrastructure (4.1502767 esxi) and 4.5 to Vsphere 5.1 and 5.1 view view

  I checked the compatibility matrix and see that there is no compatibility between the esxi 4.1 and 5.1, and there is no compatibility between the esxi 5.1 and 4.5.

  So I don't know which is the right way to achieve the goal.

  Anyone know if there is a white paper to follow? I found nothing

  I am planning an upgrade of the infrastructure VMware View:

  I have:

  VMWare View 4.5

  VCenter Server 4.1

  The upgrades of VMware View pdf I took I could go Virtual Center to 5.0 upgrade view, but looking at the http://http :// www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/sim/interop_matrix.php , the VMware compatibility matrix, it resembles VCenter 5.0 and 4.5 view are not compatible.

  So, 2 options:

  1 - update VCenter 4.1. Update 1, then switch view to 5.0, then upgfrade VCenter to 5.0.

  2 - Uograde discovered VCenter 4.6, then upgrade to view 5.0, then upgrade to 5.0.

  Do you guys have any comments? Anyone tried an upgrade from VCenter 4.1 and 4.5 of the view?

  According to my upgrade plan guides are given beloww (and, please, tell me if this is wrong):

  1 discovers the connection to the 4.6-> 5 [same upgrade server] Server

  2 discover the composer 2.6 (see 4.6)-> 2.7 (view 5) [same upgrade server]

  3 view Center (and paragraphs as the Update Manager) 4.1 U1-> 5 [same upgrade server]

  4 ESXi 4.1 U1-> 5 [probably vmotion VMs / fresh install]

  Hi, I'm looking at upgrading my view 4.0 environment to display 4.6 and reflected on the upgrade guide. Should I upgrade my environment vSphere 4.0 environment 4.1 last before tackling the upgrade of my view? If so, what can I say/use to justify the upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1? Best performance?  All the links for the upgrade of the display will be greatly appreciated and points awarded!

  Please follow the steps in the Upgrade Guide. They are fairly easy to follow.

  In short:

  1. upgrade the view connection server components

  2 upgrade View Composer

  3. improving the environment vSpehere

  4. upgrade the tools VMware and virtual hardware on all the virtual machines in parent, virtual machine
  models and virtual computers that host server view as the view connection server components
  instances.

  4. upgrade the components view Agent and his Client.

  Document your settings will be a good idea, so that your can recreate the problems them as appropriate.

  In the case of Linked Clone pools, agent on image upgraded Gold and recompose your pool with this picture gold.

  KB 1022140 can be useful for you to move from ESX4.0 to ESX4.1

  KB 1027095 could contribute to a certain extent.

  We need to move to

  View 4.5 in order to support Windows 7 clients.

  We are currently running

  VSphere 4.0, with agent view 4.0 / 4.0 client View.

  Our View server is currently

  Windows Server 2003 SP2.

  We have current maintenance on our view licenses work,

  and downloaded Viewconnectionserver - 4.5 and view agent 4.5 / Customer View 4.5

  Can VCenter Sever 4.1 in order to perform an upgrade of the view - you confirm?

  Ah, I see. If you have view Enterprise 4.5 edition, then you are not allowed to View Composer and you can download it. If you've seen first you will need to go to the download section, and then try again.

  I'm planning an upgrade view 5.1.3 to Horizon view 5.2 for two installations of vSphere 5.1 display (5.1, 5.1 ESXi vCenter).

  Looking at the Horizon view 5.2 compatibility upgrade matrix (http://pubs.vmware.com/view-52/topic/com.vmware.view.upgrade.doc/GUID-E9BB81A4-1054-4BBB-A43B-CB60A6EF909E.html) and he says that view composer 3.0 is not supported with Server 5.2 connection.

  In addition, on http://pubs.vmware.com/view-52/topic/com.vmware.view.upgrade.doc/GUID-504805D9-6645-438B-B3C5-F56EF6E38E77.html, it says "during a level, view of the Horizon does not support View Composer provisioning and maintenance, operations in view of publication operations transfer server or local mode. You can perform these operations successfully only when all instances of transfer view connection server server and View Composer have been updated"

  I need to know exactly what that means the performance of Server connection 5.2 with the composer 3.0 temporarily between maintenance windows. I understand this isn't a combination "supported", but it still works?

  Here is my question - I have two separate environments of the view: Prod and Dr. entirely of sets of connection, security servers, vCenter and composer separate servers. However, they share the same composer for each vCenter servers. A composer vCenter Prod server and another composer for Dr. vcenter. The composer & vcenter servers are configured in both environments. This has been working well, but can be confusing during upgrades.

  My plan is to upgrade the environment DR View, which includes the composer DR server that works with DR vcenter. However, the Prod environment will always be the connection to the Server 5.1.3 and you will need to use the 5.2 composer newly improved to DR discovers the provision of environments and maintain the work stations in both environments.

  Yes, on both counts, they need to match so you will have to set up the server instances additional standalone composer or update at the same time as you will not be able to share through mixed versions of the connection view servers.

  So I heard that the SSL stuff in 5.1 is different from previous versions and by reading the upgrade guide, I think I'll be ok as I am now however, it is always nice to get confirmation currently we lack 5.0 on all pieces of our environment in mind, we have a Secure Gateway in our DMZ for external access and the main connection inside our LAN Server.  Both servers use a CA signed SSL cert (generic) and both decide the same DNS name (on the outside using the public DNS records inside using internal DNS records).  For example, if on an iPad, the connection to the server is configured as view.mydomain.com with the same DNS name resolved to our external public IP address that points to the gateway secure in the demilitarized zone.  Inside, I have a DNS entry that points "display" then inside of the connection to the server.  Everything works well and we don't get the guests of SSL certificate.  My question is that, if I understand although it for upgrading view must import existing certificates because they are without my intervention, see below:

• View v3.1 is supported under vSphere 4.1?

  Hi all

  We have an existing installation of view 3.1 under VI3.5, and we plan to upgrade to vSphere 4.1 or vSphere 5 (we must deploy servers of W2008R2).

  The question is, is seen 3.1 supported under vSphere 4.1 or 5? I can't find any info of VMware docs.

  We can also upgrade view (although there is no way to view upgrade 3.1) but it would be another project and we do ot as simple as possible.

  See 3.1 is no longer supported. It has reached its end of general 03-07 and end of service support to 03-09.

  Looking at the documentation for 3.1 (under support / Documentation / View)

  Also, I suppose we must Manager vCenter to upgrade (rather than previous "Host Update Utility"), or the vihostupdate utility.  Is that correct, or should I use the host update utility "to upgrade the ESX hosts for 4.0.2?

  Here are the release notes for the update 2 which contain methods supported in the upgrade,http://www.vmware.com/support/vsphere4/doc/vsp_esx40_u2_rel_notes.html#installation .   I used the Manager to update without any problem.

  I update the installation of vCenter and the host ESX first and then pass the view components.

• See 5.3 and 8.1 of Windows domain join fails

  I just upgraded view server and view composer 5.2 to 5.3 connections. Always running vSphere/vCenter 5.0, but these are listed as supported in the support matrix.

  My related stocks work fine (XP and Windows 7). I tried to add a new Pool of Windows with the last Agent of view 8.1 installed on it but get "view composer agent error initialization state (18) could not join the domain.  The irony is that he actually join to the domain, but the State of the virtual machine to get in an error state, so it cannot be used.

  I opened a ticket with VMware support, and to my surprise, the recommendation has changed for the construction of parent vm for the linked clones. Now VMware recommends for Windows 8 parent VM, that they are not joined to the domain. (they should be only machines of the Working Group).  I hope this helps someone.

  I am trying to add my server vCenter Server with enabled in VMWare View composer. When you check the box "Enable View Composer" to find the appropriate domain, but it won't let me save it. I get the error "error record vCenter entry. I can record it, if I turn off the settings of composer.

  I created a new database for viewComposer and added the system DSN. The View Composer runs on port 4141

  Compose 2.0 won't be fully functional with view 4.5, you must upgrade to 2.5 composer.

• After upgrading to FF36.0.4, I can't view pages that require Flash Player.

  I upgraded to FF 36.0.4 and was unable to access pages I had before. I installed the latest Shockwave Flash 17.0.0.134 and Quicktime 7.7.6 and facilitated National Weather Service still unable to display radar images. FF says I plug in but not which. Homepage flash gives same msg where it should tell you what version you have.

  One of the possible reasons for a plugin not installed on the addons page are if Firefox has been set NOT to scan the registry for plugins. Another is that the settings of Firefox, plugin data storage file is corrupt. Here are the steps to check these possibilities:

  Confirm that Firefox scans the registry for plugins

  Firefox detects the plugin Flash to a registry entry. Some users have scanning disabled for some reason any. Here's how check and fix this:

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the filter box, type or paste the scan and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) If plugin.scan.plid.all is not set to its default value true, double-click it to activate it by default.

  If you have changed this setting, close and restart Firefox to start another analysis.

  If you see the Add-ons, Plugins section page again, you will find 'Shockwave Flash' it?

  If Firefox is set to scan, but still do not find the Flash and the list on the page Add - ons...

  Remove the registry file for the plugin for Firefox

  Sometimes the pluginreg.dat file is damaged. You can remove it and Firefox plugins re-scan.

  Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

  In the first table of the page, click on the "view file" button to launch a new window of Windows Explorer showing your settings files.

  Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename pluginreg.dat to something like pluginreg.old

  Launch Firefox back up again. (If you want to restore your previous session non-private use history > restore previous Session.)

  Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. From your post, I understand that you do not see the Message Viewer box which allows you to read your e-mails; only see you the Inbox that includes a brief overview of the message and are unable to restore access using the separator bars. I have had this happen to my own Mail app and am happy to let you know how I could fix!

  You are really on the right track - you want to roll your mouse over the divider between the Inbox and sections Message Viewer (which should now be on the extreme right edge of your mail window) and drag it to the left.  When you click on the receipt/Message Viewer box, the cursor turns into a line continuous black with a single arrow pointing to the left. When you see the cursor change, click with the left button of the mouse and (while holding down the mouse button in) drag the combination line / arrow to the left. You may need to drag a little further than before to get it. I had to hang mine almost completely in the middle of my Mail app before the display of the message box appeared.

  From there, you should be able to adjust the boxes to your widths you want as expected.

  If you are still not able to get the display of the messages visible after have try this, here are a few more things that you can do.

  1. Press command + O on your keyboard.
  2. Exit the Mail application, and then press on and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard while reopening.
  3. Restart your Mac by selecting the menu  Apple in the upper right of your screen restart from the menu drop down.

• Passwords can be saved in version 22. has worked before the upgrade. I'm NOT under 'Private Viewing'. Just, it does NOT save the password.

  The drop-down list "for"save passwords is NOT dimmed. By clicking on the "Save password box does NOTHING. I am running Windows XP SP3. The previous version (21) worked well. 223 version doesn't allow passwords to be saved. I'm NOT in private view. The ""Remember passwords for sites"box under Tools / Options / Security is verified." "remember history" shows on Tools / Options / Privacy. As I said: Save password no longer works with version 22. He has worked on version 21. No parameters have been made with this upgrade. I'm on another computer that has NO 22 on that version. I refuse to upgrade this computer.

  Here's what works:

  1. backup / export 'Bookmarks' in HTML

        ( I actually imported them into Internet Explorer)
  

  2. go in Control Panel.

  3. click on "Add or remove programs and Windows components.

  4, delete Mozilla Firefox and all other programs.

      It will take some time to find anything related to
      Firefox  and remove it.  Do this part for sure.
  

  5. download a new version of Mozilla Firefox.

  6. install and run this new clean install.

  7 import the backup html of your bookmarks.

  Remove all traces of the program and all the old components seems to solve this problem. Whenever a 'new' version comes out I'm going to do this and save me from the pain... Now to try it on one of the other computers in the office...
