I have a netbook "ACER Aspire One", he has XP installed, is - it possible to install Windows 8 or higher?

Hello

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no update free from XP to Vista, 7, 8.1, or 10.

Forget Vista as support extended for Vista SP2 will end April 2017.

Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7; Windows 7 SP1 to support extended to January 14, 2020.

Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Follow these steps before buying and upgrading (new installation) of Windows 8.1; extended support ends on January 10, 2023.

Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8.1 drivers available for your model.

If this is not available, Windows 8.1 not install and work properly for you.

There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:

I try to upgrade my old vista laptop to win7, but don't remember the product key for my computer compaq laptop. How can I get this key?

    Hello

Your question is not very clear to understand.

If Vista is preinstalled on your laptop, this product key is NOT for Windows 7.

There is a free upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 years, but that offer expired for a long time.

How does the Windows 7 upgrade Option?

The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your Windows 7 update will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Option of upgrade Windows 7 program runs from June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. Some manufacturers may choose to shorten the time of upgrade Option.

Microsoft sells more than Windows 7, but it does NOT come for free.

    Try Amazon.com, etc.

And if you ask to transfer the license of Windows 7 from a mobile to another laptop:

You tell us what type of license you have.

If the laptop came with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key supplied with the laptop is preinstalled OEM license and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

The above applies also to OEM system builders licenses.

License of operating system in detail, that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

  • The upgrade of old Dell Dimension 2400 CPU, GPU, memory, etc...

Mainly interested in CPU upgrade at this time. I have download CPU - Z to determine my profile and I provide this stitched-together set screenshots of this program:

I just put the CPU of my Dimension 5150 friend successfully. I would only reproduce on my 2400 - a much smaller machine. This computer is mainly used for the casual internet browsing, and sometimes I watch a Youtube video. The only programs that really tax the CPU are my disk defragmentation and the program CCleaner. When I have a great session of internet browsing of 100 + tabs, the CPU also emerged at this time here.

I want to the maximum this computer using cheap parts upgrades, that I can buy it on eBay. On my 5150 friend, I bought a processor upgrade for $5 delivered and a thermal paste to ebay for 80 cents. I wouldn't mind buying a cheap video card and processor to upgrade this old workhorse

    sva50233

The Dimension 2400 can use 400 MHz or 533 MHz, Socket 478, P - 4 Northwood or Celeron processor with a 512 k or more small cache.

You cannot use all processors Prescott [1 MB cache].

The maximum support of the processor is P - 4 Northwood, 533 MHz, Socket 478, 3.06 GHz.

Before upgrading the processor, make sure you have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

With regard to the video card, only the PCI cards are supported, no PCI Express card is supported.

The Dimension 2400 supports a maximum of 2 GB (2 x 1 GB Modules) memory DDR.

  • Intend to upgrade an old system of five year

Would appreciate your opinion of experts to upgrade your old desktop of five year for current video editing:

    Existing system:

    • CPU Intel x 990
    • 24GB DDR3 memory
    • Card RAID Areca 8018 (with a total of 12 to 8 HDs)
    • Two SSD
    • ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard
    • GPU GTX 970 (acquired by mistake by pulse)
    • NEC EA244UHD monitor over an old EIZO
    • Power supply Corsair AX1200
    • CPU Cooler Noctua LGA2011 (notice, system works cool)
    • Cooler Master Tower
    • DVD & Blu - ray player/recorders are both (can get rid of one to add more SSD)

    Planned upgrades:

    • Replace the CPU with Intel i7-5930 K (it can not afford to i7-5960 x)

    • Replace Corsair CMK 32 GX 4M4A 2133 C13 DDR4 memory, for now
    • Replace the motherboard ASUS Rampage V extreme x 99 Deluxe

    Reason to upgrade:

    • Current system runs fairly fast, but quickly is to run out of memory when rendering or transcoding

  • With the last CC of Adobe software, it often blocks during rendering
  • Need more connections SATA, preferably 6/Gbs
  • The "BOLD" Thunder capacity need
  • Need more ports USB3
  • 32-bit PCIE
  • Need WiFi
  • Best Bluetooth need
  • Another question - anyone here know if my old 8018 ARECA will work with 32-bit PCIE?

    Your contribution is appreciated

The motherboard supports the PCIe x 4 M.2 technology.  Get a Samsung SM951 to connect Council for exceptional transfer speeds also get a Samsung 850 Pro for your operating system and applications (not all SSD is perfect). I think that your Areca should work.  This Council is not announced with Thunderbolt, only a Thunderbolt header?  Are you planning a Board of the third party?  Do you really need Thunderbolt?  I've heard of many problems with the card ASUS X99E WS I have when you try to use maps Asus Thunderbolt.  I would try to avoid love at first sight until all the bugs are being developed.

If your current system crashes with CC2015 it is not the fault of CC2015, I've heard very few complaints of the popular PC with problems caused by the first crash.  I he executes with great success on my laptop (even with the 4K media) and in the X 99 workstation I have

  • Buy Windows 7 OEM and hardware to upgrade one old PC

I have a computer running windows XP Pro and want to upgrade the hardware and software.

I intend to replace the memory and the hard drive, now in the old days, they told me by Microsoft Licensing, it was ok for that but it was in the days of XP.

Microsoft changing licenses so want to make sure that it is always ok.

I don't want to run Windows 8, as is the new VISTA.

I'm not worried about my files that I intend to install fresh and they can be transferred from the old drive.

Nor am I worried about being locked to the PC once activated.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

So I recommend that you first install the new hardware, then proceed with the installation of Windows 7 on new material.

I have a client with a problem 3000 MXP. You can not buy a service contract for him because it is the end of LIFE. That being said it would be nice to have at least the last MXP (9.x) on it.

You do not need to make incemantal steps, simply get a release for F9 key.

Contact [email protected] / * / with your serial number info and see the notice.

You should then get a unlock key that allows you to upgraded to the latest which is F9.3.1

  • InDesign CS5 upgrade asking old Pagemaker serial No.

I contacted customer service and they sent me here. An old 6.0,6.5 PageMaker 7.0 serial number request my Indesign CS5 upgrade. We have a computer at work that went down and I try to get all Indesigns back on it. We have CS3 - 6 on them and I kept the boxes for CS - CS6 just to upgraded versions that need back issues. This type of customer service told me that he cannot help me and I have to post here for resolution.

    THX,

The solution that worked, was telling the installation use Pagemaker 6 and effectively put the serial number for my copy of INDESIGN CS6. Shocked that it worked... but it worked... I hope this can help someone else down the line...

  • How, at the request of upgrade - remove old application

    Dear all,

I sent my application in production with an application called alias "App_Mon".

After that, I made several improvements to my existing application in the development server, and now I want to upgrade the production application.

    That's what I thought,
1 export application development (here I will add necessary upgrade scripts for the database as install scripts) for application export file will contain everything to run the new application.

2 import in on production server
But my question was in the production server we have long-standing app with the same alias application. For the updated release also, I need to use the same alias because all users to access the application using aliases.

So I think that when I have o this,
    1. I need to change the former alias application in other prior importation somehting new application
    or
    2 remove the old applications.
It's a bit of manual work of the user that install it in production.

Is there a way to change the alias of the application or remove any application using PL/SQL?

Any other approach better also welcome...

    See you soon,.
    Alex

When you import an application file, you can choose to replace the existing application if there is with the same ID. This way also ensures that saved IR will remain intact (not the case if you delete it)

  • How to upgrade an old vi

I have an old application that must be updated, but I need a strategy to relaunch it.

It consists of a single main vi with 6 separate loops running. (currently in Labview 8.6, go to 2011)

Some loops updated indicators of analog inputs, some control instruments and one is the main state machine that processes the scripts loaded from files.

My dilemma is especially what it takes with the 100 + FP indicators/controls distributed 6 tabs.

I want to condense each loop in his own Subvi but do not know how to handle this.

Looks like I need to create a reference for all controls/indicators, pass in each Subvi and access the values via property nodes.

If I understand you correctly, you want to update your controls/indicators on your main vi of your Subvi.  See link below for a cool tool

  • I want to use my Windows 8 pre-loaded license to upgrade my old computer

To comply with my companies policies I had to change the OS in my new laptop for Windows 7. Now, I would like to use the license of windows 8 that came preloaded in the computer to upgrade my second computer. The problem is I don't have the license key and no one can help me to get it back as it is on the motherboard. I paid for the license, and as far as I know I have right to use it on any machine I want for as long I have only on a single computer at the same time, isn't? Now what should I do to get this key?

Unfortunately, no. If it came preloaded on the phone, it's an OEM
the biggest drawback of an OEM version and version is that its
license is permanently tied to the first computer on which it is installed.
It can never be moved to another. So, you can't do what you want
