Upgrading RAM on a Touchsmart 610-1120

I have a Touchsmart, Touchsmart, 610-112it and I want to know hot to upgrade the supplied 4 GB of RAM.

Which is the exact component of RAm should I buy to update to 6-8 GB? How to install it? Thank you

Hello:

You must purchase one or three strips of 4 GB memory to keep the DDR mode.

With the image below, I assume that your current memory chip is located in one of the closest black slots of the processor, correct?

If you buy a single chip of 4 GB, you must install it in the other black slot.

If you insist on only tokens of 2 x 4 GB, you must install a chip in the black empty space and the second bullet in blue slot closest to the processor.

I do not recommend this approach.  Buy one or three and fill the two black locations, or all 4 locations.

Best regards

Paul

  • HP TouchSmart 300-1120: the video card upgrade

I came into possession of a HP Touchsmart 300-1120. I do not use not for the games just the navigation and use to watch movies when traveling through Plex home theater.

I've updated the CPU to an Athlon X 4 605th & maxed out the RAM 8 GB. I noticed that I can upgrade the video card using the Mobile PCI Express Module slot.  Even though I know that the GPU Radeon HD 3200 onboard can handle HD videos, he hangs out considerably. even though I have the film on the hard drive.

So the question is, where can find one of these cards. And is there a way to upgrade the PSU?

I do not work for HP.
I am a computer technician and a passion for computing with more than 32 years of computer repair and networking experience

Your PC AIO has a sleeve of MXM graphics.  The following video card will work. It was included in some models of PC.

HP 594505-001 nVidia GeForce G210 512 MB MXM DDR3 video card

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?PartNumber=594505-001

You need to search online to find a seller or a person who has one for sale. I see them on eBay for @ $35-50, 00

The upgrade of the PSU is not a viable option.

and I was wondering if it would be good for the games because I think intel core i7 is a bit expensive. If not, which ones is better for about the price of SMEs?

    Hello David Edward,.

Your system originally came with Windows 7?

Have you tried reseating the RAM stick? Sometimes, that's all it takes.

I got a stick go bad causing a system to have the exact symptoms you describe.

The system will use the built-in memory RAM. If the RAM is bad, it can cause the effect of black screen.

You can also run a diagnostic memory via the bios here test...

HP Notebook PC - detection of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista)

You can also run a memtest from a USB or DVD.

MemTest86 - Official Site of the x 86 memory test tool

Ideal would be to have another stick of ram to replace with to test.

  • HP Touchsmart 610-1180qd - update graphics card?

    It's customizable PC I: TouchSmart 610-1180qd

Hello! I'm not a noob when it comes to computers, in fact: I am an expert technician. I know this question has been asked a million times, but I could not find a current thread for my model. I've never worked with before all-in-one desktop computer. I know that they are more closely related to laptops rather than desktops and that they will use mobile graphics because of this cards. I love this new PC, it has everything the most of what HP has to offer me for this model, except the graphics card. At the point where they did not offer me a good Nvidia 2 GB graphics card so I went with the 2 GB ATI Radeon HD 5570, who was the best at the time, and I'm not a fan of Radeon. I look at the list of maps they offer now, and they are all much better that what I initially offered me a month earlier, when I was building my PC. My card is still not listed as an option more! I'm a little upset. My current card is down the performance of my computer. Everything else is the killer. I experience lag on some games that shouldn't be known with high graphics settings! This thing has a processor 3,4 GHz with the addition of power up to 3.8 GHz and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM! No reason for any kind of lag, it... This is the graphic card... He is lame, I didn't in my PC at all, but I had to.

Currently, the best maps that they offer right now for my PC model starting from 09/06/2011 is:

2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M

2 GB, Radeon HD 6550 has

I prefer Nvidia card much more because I want to play Final Fantasy 14 online. They are specific to the Nvidia cards only. In addition, I always preferred Nvidia at the expense of others and am not loving this Radeon HD 5570 much or not at all.

My question is: can I order a cards online that is currently listed for the configuration of my computer and then just install it on mine? The site says nothing about the integrated graphics card, so there should be a chance, I can update. This is the same exact computer, but they seem to change the list of graphics cards every few weeks. I don't know how to go on the opening of this computer to check. Any help would be appreciated. I love this computer to death but this lame Radeon graphics card is lower to paralyze it's game performace. I should be able to play all the latest games on the high graphics with little or no problems. This PC is a beast in all, buuuuut... I hate this graphics card which is currently in so much! I paid around $2 k for this PC AIO, and his graphic part is killing me for the high end games.

Or... What other graphics cards that I would be able to put in it? Those registered are not really as high engine.

    Thank you!

You'd be better off looking at all the previous discussions on this topic, is not easy to replace cards because they are portable format MXM cards and the HP BIOS is picky about which cards and GPU BIOS revisions he loves.

In general, the notice was not worth the time, energy, cost and frustration to replace.

  • TouchSmart 610: PC off completely unexpected

    Hi all

I hope you can help, I spent hours scouring the forums to find answers. I have a friends computer I tried to fix, are rarely a problem that I can't, but this one left me speechless.

From what I can tell, it was a common fault with the power brick and the system completely shut down for what seems like no reason. So I replaced the power brick, still the same issue.

I checked the ram, I used memtest 86... the computer crashed almost instantly so perhaps I thought that the ram was also an issue. I replaced the ram with ram I know works, but it is still completely off.

I did a full scan of the hard drive and can't find bad sectors or errors.

the problem first started happening with win7 home (what it came with), I replaced it with win7 Ultimate (new installation). so it is definitely not the operating system.

It drives me completely crazy, it seems there is no other thread I can find where the problem got to this level with this model.

    Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Please come back to me, I wanted to test my theory a few days before I posted. I eventually found the problem it seems that nobody else has. With the HP touchsmart 610, it appears with the power brick and the common memory issues it seems to be another HUGE problem I suspect will be a normal thing in the factory. I tried as you know and he had baffled me but I was convinced that it should be a matter of hearing.

I found the solution... At least that worked for me. It turns out that it was not any thermal past between the cpu and the heatsink... NO WHAT SO EVER. I put on a past thermal and two days non stop with on a stop down. So the problem is solved. Thank you for your help.

  • How do you send netflix through my touchsmart 610-1280qd to my TV

I can't understand how to stream netflix to my TV on my Touchsmart 610-1280qd.  I have no problem streaming from my Envy laptop but it is very hot (even with an external fan) and noise requires speakers.  I had a second monitor attached to the 610-1280qd, but he said to duplicate postings.  It does not work.  Disconnected secondary monitor completely - that didn't work.  I also had a failure of installing Chromecast on the 610. Is it possible to stream with a touch screen to a TV?

Hooray, solved.  I had already set up a second monitor (using the hp video referenced in several responses) with a StarTech USB to DVI video adapter for the second monitor 2310 m older HP.  When I went to pick him up for the 'video USB connector"referenced elsewhere in the forum, I came across a dollar 20.00 adapter DVI to HDMI by GE (Walmart).

By connecting this piece to the USB adapter to DVI video, it worked for access to television.  I have to unplug the adaptor DVI monitor cable and replace it with the DVI-HDMI adapter and HDMI cable (less than a minute), which allows me to watch netflix on my TV movies.  I will say that I would not have thought it with the forum, the news of cat info and visually see the possibility that the small DVI to HDMI adapter would work. Good luck to those who always try to watch television through their touchscreen.

It seems to me that when there are 1100 more we try to see how to do this that HP would create a specific page or a video for us help to know how to "connect your touch screen to your TV.  I spent 3-4 hours trying to find information to solve a problem that shouldn't exist in the first instance. I don't understand why there is no video output on touch screens.

  • Tecra Z40 - A - the upgrade (RAM RAM)

    Hi all

Ordered little RAM to upgrade my Toshiba Tecra Z40 - A, but can not find, for the life of me, anything where you want to insert online.

I previously installed RAM under the keyboard (couple of clips holding it) and on the other, a small cover on the bottom, but the Z40 does not appear to be anywhere easily accessible.

Has anyone upgraded RAM on the Z40? Or is it a big no, no, because of the guarantee?

    Thank you
    Lance

Memory upgrade on this model Tecra is a bit complicated and, in my view, should not be done by the owner of the laptop. For some models of Ram upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and exact instructions how do proposed in document s user manuals, but not for your Tecra.

For full access to the RAM modules lower lid should be removed and it can be done by people of service only. If you do this alone you can void the warranty valid.
I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help or advice.

    The protégé 4000 is compatible with the PC133 modules! AFAIK, you can upgrade RAM of this notebook 1 GB (1024 MB) and you can use these modules;
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

You can create partitions on the HARD drive using a 3rd party like Partition Magic 8 tool. I use this tool and it's really nice.
After you create 2 or three partitions on the HARD disk, you could install different OS (operating systems).
