  You locked the screen rotation. Try changing the physical button above the volume controls. You can also access it through the control center (groundswell of phone to the top screen).

  Hello MilaRowantree, can you try to start firefox in safe mode by pressing the SHIFT key during startup of this and see if the problem occurs there too? Maybe a theme or hardware acceleration intrudes here...

  If safe mode does not work, you can try to disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general and or disable addons that could cause the problem.   Try typing the esc key when you start the laptop to see if it launches the Start Menu - if this is the case, use the arrow keys to select the Boot Menu, click on enter and then use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER again.

I was able to connect to the WiFi network with success but it appeared a BB icon on the upper right corner of the home next to the WiFi icon screen.   Make sure that the foreground is selected in your color Panel, not the color of background as shown here.

  If you're talking about the black box with the white line in the middle with the x, it's your sound control and the x means that it has been muted.  You should find the button mute and press it.  This should make them disappear.
