Go to the control panel. There are several ways to do this, but the most common is to go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Control Panel" on the right side. Follow whatever it is more convenient for you.

    2. 2

Click on "user accounts" in the window that appears. Or, you see the standard view (with lines of icons) or the display of the categories (which is explicit). Both have a shortcut to the user accounts Control Panel.

    3. 3

If a control panel is not yet made, click the 'user accounts' Panel at the bottom of the window. If so, you can skip this step.

    4. 4

Click the link you want to get rid of any user account.

    5. 5

The next window will have a list of actions you can do for the user account, one of which will be "remove account". It is the action that you'll want to click on.

    6. 6

The last window that you will see will ask you if you want to keep the soon-to-be-used user represents the files in a folder on your desktop. It's your choice here.

      • If you have already backed up all important data on this user account, you can safely click on 'delete files '.
      • If you do not, you must click "keep files".

    Alex Ho

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I appreciate that you try to recover the data after the deletion of the user account in Windows Vista.

Since you've already deleted the user account, you would not be able to recover the data.

However, you can use any third party to the data recovery software.

NOTE: using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    Hello

Click the account icon that was locked and enter the password IF you know and otherwise:

Try Safe Mode - several times, press F8 that you start. The Admin account there is no default password
so unless someone has changed, you should have access there. Then Control Panel - accounts - users
Manage another account - use this down your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK
then go back and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times.
Then fix the password in your usual account. Do not forget to leave your account administrator if you
    wish.

If no joy Mode without failure:

Try this - use the hidden administrator account to lower your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK
then go back and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times.
Then fix the password in your usual account. Do not forget to leave your account administrator if you
    wish.

Make another Admin account with your password and use it to fix the others if necessary. (just for
repair, don't use regular account, not a safety valve) always keep a spare ADMIN account.

There is a Microsoft Knowledge base article which sets up a few steps to perform in the computer in order to solve the problem you are experiencing, read the article that you find on the link I am mentioning below and see if it helps the measures mentioned:

  • Built-in administrator or an account administrator of the user created in Windows XP Professional?

It is best to use the built-in Administrator account or a user created the administrator account in Windows XP Professional? Please provide details. Responses invited experienced users.

You may not use the built-in account named Administrator on a regular basis.  Instead, create an account with "computer administrator" privileges  When you do so, the built-in Administrator account no longer displays on the home screen (which is to encourage you to leave it alone).

You can also create an account 'limited' for regular use.

Why not use the built-in Administrator account is that, sometimes, going to be damaged.  It is much easier to recover from a user account damaged if there is a good administrator-level account.

If you use the administrator account on a regular basis and it is corrupt, you'll have a more difficult recovery.

  • Need to access the user accounts from previous installations

I am running Windows XP Pro, and I have installed new software.

When I have it ran for the first time my PC crashed. Now, whenever I try to load it up it just keeps restarting before you get to the login screen. Safe mode does not help you, or doesn't last known good configuration. There is no recovery point recorded.

I searched online for help and tried to repair the Windows version by inserting the CD and choose 'Repair', but there is no repair option. He wants me to install a new version of Windows on the partition, which, from what I understand, going to wipe my user accounts. It would be a big problem, as I have a lot of data out there that is very important for me who is not saved. My fault, still backward, etc. No not after the sympathy, just stating the facts!

I also have Windows XP 64 is installed on a separate partition, and I loaded this up to see if I can see the user account I want to access. I can. But I can't access it because it is password protected, and it just comes up saying 'access denied '.

So, how do I gain access to this user account? Doing anything to the working version of XP64, either by repairing the other partition inactive?

All welcome, no matter how much of a long shot it is advice. I'm getting desperate!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Malkeleah,

I had real problems trying to get Knoppix to work. I downloaded on my laptop, then had to put on a USB key to burn on the PC with Win 64 on (portable DVD player is read-only), but I couldn't do burn. I kept of burning errors using the built-in burner after first unpacking the ISO on the laptop (no support ISO native in Windows XP), or when I tried to install on win 64 the system burning software I got error messages saying: the software wouldn't run as soon as I clicked to install it. And Yes, I checked that I was using the software compatible 64-bit! No idea what it was, the 64-bit version has never really been used, not even well why it is installed.

In any case, after that much hitting my head on the office followed a couple of pints in pubs, I managed to find another way around this problem, which was to take ownership of the files according to the instructions on the Microsoft Web site:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/308421

It worked wonderfully for me, and I have been able to support Windows 64-bit, re - install XP 'normal' and then appropriated again under that. 2 files come with errors and would not sell the property, but they were not even remotely important if everything is good. I got literally thousands of other files that flies over without any problems.

In any case, thank you for taking the time to help me, I'm sure that your method would have worked if I had been able to create a CD (I would have posted off the coast for one if everything else has failed because they will send one in the world for any $2 IIRC), but for someone else who did a search and found my ad the above that I mention is worth a go as an alternative method.

And no, I didn't have the encrypted files. Just locked the account of some simple password protection.

    Thanks again,

    Chris.

  • How to solve a problem with my user account in Windows 7

I recently downloaded several drivers for Windows XP and I installed one or more of these factors so that I could transfer to a USB key to install on an XP laptop. I think that this may have damaged my user accounts. When I click on the images and music files, has more listed files. In addition, a second HARD drive installed on my Windows 7 CPU is no longer accessible after that I tried to fix. 2nd HARD drive was accessible in Windows Explorer, but my music application (iTunes) could not read the music library file (content in 1 disk HARD music folder) or he could access the music files and media.

After doing some research on this forum, I've decided that I have can I have inadvertently installed a trogan horse or a virus who disguised himself as a windows driver. I was downloading several drivers for an old laptop which comes, I reinstalled Windows XP and some I THINK drivers came from unofficial or Microsoft Web sites. I found under the credentials manager that a new profile has been created the day this problem is product called "virtualapp/didlogical" I'm obviously very concerned by this and not be able to access my music and photo files in my user profile. I can access the files (music, photos) if I do a search, but they are more related to my user account (i.e. the folder to see the music and pictures empty).
Here's what I did: 1) I have done a full using Microsoft Security Essentials scan and the latest version of McAfee and no problems were detected, 2) I tried to change the permissions on the 2nd HARD drive and I don't even now to access the disk in Windows Explorer, 3) that I deleted the account virtualapp/didlogical in the credentials manager (4) I changed the password for my user account, which is default and administrator privileges.
In my list of user account, there are 4 accounts or groups: authenticated users (I don't remember why it's here), SYSTEM ("'"), (MyUserName\Administrators) administrators, users (MyUserName\Users). I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
(My questions are 1) what is the best way to correct the user account so that my music and photos are in the user accounts, files and 2) what happens if another remedy would be the community suggests to determine if I have a horse trogan or installed virus.
Before you remove user or group accounts, or any other changes, I thought I'd see if anyone else has had this problem and what should I do if all the remedies have been used to solve problems.
Any guidance or advice would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Thanks for posting to the wealth of information you did. To answer your questions, I recommend a person as follows:

    (1) create a new user account, set up exactly as you wish. Then compare it to the existing and corrupt user account, the user account corrupted attachment according to the article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

    (2) for the removal of malicious software that is not catch an antivirus application, I recommend two malware scanners:

    Malwarebytes': http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware.shtml ;  and,

SuperAntiSpyware: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html (use the link Direct download only).

Followed by two "second opinions" on the antivirus application (both are online scanners):

ESET Online Scanner: http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ;  and,

    TrendMicro: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/us/ .

Finally, if you think that there is participation of any browser that avast: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Browser-Cleanup/3000-2144_4-75872295.html (only use the Direct download link).

These may be "canned" responses, but are they the measures legitimate, I take a poster through. Post your results here and let me know how you fare.
