USB Cruzer 128 GB Flash drive

I bought the drive Flash USB Cruzer 128 GB in July 2013.  It seems that it is a product of USB 2.0.

Today, I plugged the Cruzer USB port of my laptop HP Probook 4540 s (Win7 SP1) 3.0 and was copy several files for a total of approximately 100 GB.

The copy took about six hours.  File transfer speed is very slow.

How to get the best speed of file copy please?

"It's the"rapid withdrawal"by default.

The default value is not intended for readers of 128 GB with 100 GB downloads.

"As for format NTFS, I read probably somewhere years pendrives work faster if they are NTFS"

You certainly know that not everything you read on the Internet is correct.  Think about it, if this were true you don't think that flash drive manufacturers would manufacturer their drives with him so they would run faster?  Readers begin as the super floppy format FAT32 for some reason.  No MBR, no table partition, no record of the IO, any backup fat.

There are 3 ways to format a NTFS-formatted flash drive; Quick format, full-sized, cnvrt format.  I saw where the full format is faster than a cnvrt format.  If faster than a quick format, I don't know, but a cnvrt doesn't take long.

I put a password on it and then tried to download my music from windows media player on it. he copied the 2 files to the flash drive. both are just as macfee virus protection offers. None of this is music. I tried to drag and copy the files, copy and paste the files not only music player of windows, but also real player which has the same content inside. nothing works. what I am doing wrong. is there a way to erase everything and start over, or do I still have to do that? Why not just drag & drop (copy & paste) the files that you want to start in Windows Explorer (my computer)? I don't think you can do it from WMP or RealPlayer.

  • SanDisk Cruzer 4 GB Flash Drive deleted files

I deleted some files on my SanDisk Cruzer 4 GB Flash Drive on a laptop computer that I used to have, now I use a different laptop and I was wondering if there is any way I can get the files I deleted back?

    Thank you!

Sure.  Use an application of recovery such as PhotoRec, totally free; to download, use and to recover.  A lot of other 'free' support during the final phase.

I am running XP Pro SP2 on an old ThinkPad from IBM. When I inserted the SanDisk Cruzer flash disk, a window popped up saying that Windows could not find an installer of Volume. • strange problem with two Cruzer 32 GB flash drives on XP Pro

I have two Cruzer 32 GB discs that will not work on a particular PC running XP Pro SP3.

The readers work in other PC running XP Pro and PC running Windows 7.

Now, until someone says, "it's obviously a problem with the PC" I have to say that USB Flash drives other works very well in this PC manufacturers, as does my Seagate FreeAgent Go drive (so it is not a question of power).

Flash only readers who present a problem are the readers of Sandisk.

When I insert the Cruzer it flashes slowly then after maybe 20 seconds start blinking quickly and continues to do so as long as she remains inserted in the USB. There is no indication on the screen it was inserted - nothing ofering to the media browser, files, etc.

The drive appears in my computer as drive F removavble, but no file or folder is visible.

When I go to administrative tools > computer management > disk management, disk is NOT visible, it is not visible as a removable drive.

In Device Manager it appears as SanDisk Cruzer USB one, using a device driver Microsoft date 01/07/2001.

I tried to uninstall this device, removing the Cruzer then turn the PC, but when I plug it in there new detects new hardware - Sandisk Cruzer and drive hard, but then says that it can not work properly and invites me to restart the PC. Subsequently, he then returned to the symptoms described above.

The TWO Sandisk Cruzer 32 GB disks with the same problem.

Someone at - it any other ideas?

    Thanks pechter!

    Kies was the problem.

I followed the instructions in this thread http://forums.sandisk.com/t5/All-SanDisk-USB-Flash-Drives/sandisk-cruzer-blade-problem-troubleshooti... and it cures the problem.

I must point out that it has not affected any other brand of flash drive I've tried, the incompatibility seems to be only between Sandisk Cruzer and Kies, leads me to conclude that this is a problem of Sandisk.

  • USB ports not recognize flash drives

I was just given a Gateway Performance 550 windows 98-based computer. It is plug-and-play, have two USB ports. Printer and scanner included work on plug-and-play. The computer will not see even a device plugged in when you insert a flash drive. Should readers flash works with Windows 98, or should I switch to XP for the software to recognize? I read that some parts used USB 1 format and taking the computer earlier. It is supposed to be dimensionally identical to the USB 2, but run a little slow, but always interchangeable. Maybe the USB 2 flash drives are not interchangeable.

I'm not the best expert on all this, but I don't think that Flash drives were even invented where 98 was around.

The 98 machine would not have the drivers for a Flash drive.

You can visit the web site of the manufacturer of the USB and see if there are 98 compatible drivers there.

  • using usb for file backup flash drives

When I bought my HP Notebook PC about a year ago I made both of the system recovery discs and disc repair system for windows 7, 64-bit operating system.  My first question is what can I transfer the DVR recovery discs to a USB flash drive and if yes what size GB do I need?  The same question for the repair disk.  Are readers flash reading and writing?

Also, I have a large number of CD with photo and DVD with slideshow and vidios and music.  I want to transfer them from flash drives for the primary purpose of the ease of storage and portability.

Any suggestions would be apprieciated. TIA

Again, during a support request, please provide the model name and product number complete (p/n) of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

Having the above information allows us to provide you with the best possible answers.

I don't think you can use a USB Flash drive with Windows System Image backup tool. A NTFS formatted external hard drive USB 60 GB or more should work. Any USB 2.0 / 3.0 about 500 GB to 1 TB external hard drive would work for your object. Yes, I know it's more you want, but it is what will work.

  • x755w: x755w 128 GB Flash Drive does not work.

I recently bought two of the aforementioned usb 3.0 Flash Drives.  At the same time I upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10.  I tried to use one of the discs, but it would not appear.  I tried on each of my machines: HP, Dell, Toshiba, Asus and it don't work.  I could find it in the Device Manager, but the 'Location' field was empty.  It took a hacker and he tried everyway he knew to get there, but failed.  The other worked right out of the box, no problem

Guess my question is, how can I I get a refund on the first hard drive?  There seems to be no provision on this site to address these concerns.  (Bought in October).

I understand from your description @Passius, one of your disks in x755w does not work. I suggest reaching out to YFNS. Here is a link that might help: HP x755w. You can click on the link of Support or Contact and the top of the page.

Hello trb94611, here is a link to Microsoft that can be useful to check the flash drive to find errors.

You may be aware that there was a recall to replace motherboard on your system model.

Here is the link where the information. Look at the bottom of the linked page for the phone number to call to see if you qualify for a free motherboard replacement.

If you do, I suggest to backup your data before sending the system back for a replacement motherboard, since sometimes HP will replace the hard drive as well.

  • Satellite L20-100 cannot access a USB Flash drive

I recently bought Toshiba Satellite L20-100
I installed a USB in Kingston datatraveler flash drive and windows recognized it without problem.
but when I open my computer there is no icon for the reader (it works on another computer well).
the drive is recognized in Device Manager, but it is not given a drive letter.
When I open disk management and try to give it a drive letter it still does not show on my computer even after a reboot.

Although I can access the disk management flash drive and can open, copy & paste the files & to her.
same problem happened with a card reader.
other USB devices like cable modem & mouse work well

    What is the solution

    Hello

Is it possible that the USB is not formatted? Try changing the file system on the USB key.
You can also try to change the drive letter because the letter assigned automatically sometimes gives some conflicts with other readers.

    Second possibility:
You can try to clean all the USB stored device settings and let Windows refresh their.

Create a file with Notepad containing the following lines and save it as a BOOKMARK. REG
    -cut after this line-
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Environment]

    "DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES" = "1".
    -cut before this line-

Double click on FIX. REG and say yes to the merge into registry question.

    Unplug ALL USB device.
    Open the Device Manager.
    View, show hidden devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB controllers.
Uninstall all devices in hard drives that you know are not present.
Uninstall all devices in storage Volumes. Say no to all reboot prompts until you are finished.
In addition, if a storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore her and move on to the next.
If you have a yellow? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

  • When I attach my USB to one of my USB ports, I get a message that says "unknown device". However if I plug my mouse and my keyboard in the same USB port it works fine... What do I do? Need HELP I have the info out of my flash drive...

I need to download a driver?

It would be difficult to say that you haven't told us the manufacturer and model of the flash player.
Neither you told us what version, edition and level of service pack of Windows® you are running.
All of the above information is important to answer your question!

Please note, however, that in Windows® XP Service Pack 3 , drivers are not necessary for newer flash players.  If you have not upgraded to the SP2 minimum, you can have trouble reading flash drives.  Download and installation of the SP3 may solve your problem.

In addition, your hardware supports USB 2.0?  If this isn't the case, you may need to install a separate USB controller to use flash drives.  See the documentation for your system.

If you have SP3 and your hardware supports USB 2.0, answer these questions and we will take it from there...
