System does not recognize new San Disk Cruzer 16 GB flash drive

I am running XP Pro SP2 on an old ThinkPad from IBM. When I inserted the SanDisk Cruzer flash disk, a window popped up saying that Windows could not find an installer of Volume. When I tried to open 'Add new hardware' on the Control Panel, nothing happened. Other flash SanDisk Cruzer readers (2,4 & 8 GB) anf PNY flash drives work very well. The SanDisk 16 GB works very well on my laptop HP running Windows 7 Pro. Suggestions.

HD has failed (WD 80 GB) so I installed a new a 250 GB WD. I checked with WD HD replacement is compatible, Dell confirms that the jury will have the biggest HD (I've updated the bios). The Bios the WD 250 HD, but when I try to load Windows XP Home Edition (SP1) I get none found after the part of hard disk initialization? Since you have a Dell, you can contact them and see if they will send you an updated XP installation disc. The alternative is to integrate SP3 into the XP SP1 support and create a new XP installation disc which will include SP3. It is not difficult.

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the request, I understand that your system is unable to recognize the F: drive after inserting a disc. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.

The issue could be due to one of the following reasons - the drive might be bad, might have a cable loose or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Given the clicking of the drive I suggest you to clean the optics on the drive by wiping with a barely damp q-tip.

If there is a possibility of cables in bulk. I suggest to remove the power supply, then make sure that the cables at both ends. Remove and replace firmly. For laptops, you can often clean power and contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    1. Open the Control Panel.
    2. Click on Device Manager and select CD/DVD.
    3. Double click on the drivers tab.
    4. Click update drivers and right click on the Uninstalldisk.
    5. Reboot- it will refresh the default driver stack.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011, I installed on my vista system and everything was fine, but now all sadden the system does not recognize it. could you please help me with this?

    Hi gigikhanoom,

    1. you receive messages or error codes?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

Windows doesn't detect all antivirus programs, and some antivirus programs report their status to Windows.

If you receive notifications related to security on your virus protection software, but you know that your antivirus software is installed and updated, you can follow the steps below to stop receiving these notifications.

Note: You should only do this if you are sure you have a complete and up-to-date antivirus program installed on your computer and that real-time scanning, which checks every file before it opened or used, is turned on.

For more information, consult the following link:

Use antivirus software that Windows doesn't find

If you're still having problems, then you can try to uninstall and reinstall Kaspersky and check.

You can visit the links below to uninstall and reinstall Kaspersky:

    Uninstall or change a program

I have a Qosmio G20/390LS bought a year ago, when I worked at the Japan, I tried to upgrade the hard drive with a new HD 100 GB Hitachi SATA but I faced a problem that XP does not recognize the HD.
For your reference, the Bios sees the new HD, when I install the XP operating system I load the driver downloaded from the Toshiba Web site but no way RAID with F6... XP does not recognize the HD.

Do you have any idea how to fix?
    Thank you

    Hello

Computers portable Japanese are unknown to me, but if this laptop comes with two hard drives and RAID option do not forget the good option is set in the BIOS. Without the right BIOS setting you will not be able to install the OS.

On Qosmio G30, I was able to install Vista when for two HDD HARD drive settings were 0-RAID-1. Check it please and let us know.

  • My laptop does not recognize new Sandiscs - what am I missing

I recently bought 3 new Sandisk SD Ultra 16GB 10 speed but the card reader in my computer hp laptop Windows XP, does not recognize them.

They work fine in my camera.
The original disks are 2 GB and they work fine in the camera and the computer.
    What Miss me?

You don't mention what service pack you have, but if you have sp 3, the most likely reason is that the card reader in your laptop is too old to read new (> 2 GB) SDHC cards.  Connected by USB readers are fairly inexpensive, just be sure that the one you get includes the ability to read SDHC cards

  • My reading and writing system does not recognize the DVD. For this CD. I don't know why.

For a long time my system CD/DVD in my laptop Del Estudio 1537 worked perfect. But all of a sudden my computer does not recognize or read or burn DVDs. Can you help me fix this problem?

    Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    ===========================================

This troubleshooting could not help if there is alignment and/or wear issues however it
    a shot.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
