I can tell you one thing without checking that all the 2.5 "and 3.5" Hdd works on this port.

  • USB esata combo port?

Hello. While the specs on the hp site for my HP G72-b66US Notebook PC win7 64 bit indicates that one of the three usb ports on my laptop is a usb-esata combo port, I can't. In another post on the subject, a response showed a diagram of what it should look like - with esata on top, usb on merits - mine all the same air. I want to attach a drive external fast esata for audio/video editing, but don't want to buy one until this I'm sure it will work with my device. Does anyone know if this phone has actually a? Appreciate any help on this.  Thank you.

  • Replacement of bad taken USB/eSATA in Satellite L550

Im a traveling musician and use all my usb ports on this laptop intensively. Unfortunately, the left dual eSATA/USB port is pretty well exhausted. I'm at the corner of a card to make it work and even in this case I could suddenly lose connection and restart the software of my studio.

It's really annoying, and the only way out he replaced the port. I tried the USB hubs, but I'd rather have this sort.

I have 2 questions, are generally easy to weld on USB ports and the USB/eSATA plug available the sale as a spare?

I have a large amount of soldering experience, however, there is no point opening to the top of my laptop and find the easy jobs find that these two USB ports are not available for purchase of small amount.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks :)

lol don't know why I typed hdmi

    Hi lonetraider,

I agree with you: it's really a little bit boring if an external port doesn t work properly, especially when you use it very often.

With regard to the spare parts and repair: I'm not sure because I m not a technician of portable but for as far as I know the port is fixed/soldered to the motherboard. This means that you need to exchange the entire mainboard to replace this unique piece

But I think in this case, you need an official answer so please contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys you can tell if it is possible or not and how it would cost:

  • What brand of external drive USB/eSATA can save a Virtual Machine to host Windows 7 operating system?

    People,

Hello. I use 3 Player VM and Guest OS Windows Server 2003. The host OS is Windows 7. I need to increase the size of the VM disk, so who can install several systems in the guest OS. Before you increase the size of the virtual disk, I need to back up the virtual machine hard disk external. It is to copy and paste the "C:\VirtualMachine\" folder in the hard disk external.

I just bought an external hard drive that is "Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 3.0" and its software is "WD SmartWare". It seems that the software can back up the entire hard drive only. Alternatively, the backup files by selecting the types (music, photo, document, movies). But can not save a folder "C:\VirtualMachine\".

So my question is: what brand of external drive USB/eSATA can save a Virtual Machine to host Windows 7 operating system?

These two questions do not apply if you have a virtual machine.

  • Equium A300D - 16 c: USB/eSATA port does not work after disasembling

    Hi all

I have the above machine which worked very well, so quite extraordinarily hot.
I decided to open it and clean the dust, etc. of radiator and nowhere else that had gathered inside the case. All good, I thought...

However, when reassembling it, 2 usb ports left (including one combined USB and eSATA) have stopped working!

I could understand if it were those on the right who are on a daughter card, (for example if I forgot the cable), but they are part of the motherboard. I checked by plugging in various devices that work in good, but not the left.

Check between the + and - ports with a multimeter, I get ~ 5V from the right and nothing from the left, even if at some point, I register 0.3V.
I tried the network port that is correct, but cannot test the eSATA part as I have nothing to connect.

Anyone has any idea what this could be?

    Thanks in advance!

    > Control between the + and - ports with a multimeter, I get ~ 5V from the right and nothing in the left
This means that there is no power on led USB port.
To be honest, I have no idea what you did during the computer laptop disassembly procedure but it seems that damage you something on the motherboard.
For me, it is a plausible explanation.

Just a tip; check if eSATA is enabled in the BIOS.

    Hello

USB ports on the right side of the laptop (I'm guessing that the Dv6-7000 series) are on the usb card you mention. However, unfortunately, the left side is a part of the motherboard and the jury must be replaced to make them work.

  • Qosmio X 500-149 - USB, eSATA does not

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help/advise on that...

I had an X 500-149 for several years now. First gen Intel i7/8 GB of RAM. Never made any change of harware. Updated the operating system to win 10 months ago. A few days back, ports USB and eSATA/USB stop working. Now whenever I plug a USB device, the led of the unit flashes (Flash regular, rather than flashing irregular during the reading of the device), but the laptop does not recognize the device or display anything on the menu. I've been on the UK home page for my laptop model, but the USB driver only I could find was for the utility "sleep and Charge".

BD of the laptop's optical drive works fine. The rest of the laptop seems to work normally.

Have you tried to close windows and start cold?
The USB controller may just need reset.

  • ThinkPad W701 - deleted BIOS, USB/Esata mysterious problems before update

    Hello

Yesterday I was supposed to tto try my new external drive esata, I had previously used with my EX495 homeserver, without any problem.

But when I connected to the W701 it seemed that the connection has failed and the drive fell to sleep when I tried to write for her. When I used USB it worked perfectly and with the esata Server worked without a hitch.

After trying some time, I decided to try the lacie updater and then a reboot. After that, all ports usb failed.

I had already watched the Lenovo updateprogram and found some updates, so I ordered the computer with the trackpad and updated, but when the computer suddenly restarted and screen shows underscore flashing and that's it. After that, the screen went black and no longer lights.

I it for 4-5 weeks now and after 1 week the Mo failed when defining new ram and has passed, there is now not yet - is there anything I could to, or should it return service?

I did not help - Lenovo replaces the MB, at least this start.

  • Device USB 3.0, USB 2.0 connection ports of iMac

USB 3.0 device not recognized: my iMac a 2011, 4 USB 2.0 ports.  I bought an external WD My Passport for iMac USB 3.0 external hard drive.  It is not recognized by the iMac.  The device works of WD - I plugged on new MacBook Pro from a friend and it worked in the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports and on a newish iMac (I forgot to check the vintage).  How do I obtain backward compatibility so I can connect the WD USB 3.0 device to the iMac, USB 2.0 port?

Data: operating system is current at El Cap 10.11.6. iMac (21.5 ", mid-2011) I've updated the installer of DW disk utilities, but that did not help.

The device has been formatted as Mac OX extended (journaled) using disk utility. If not then of course it will not work, most drives come preformatted for need to be reformatted to work with your Mac and Windows boxes. BTW, have you considered buying a top quality case such as a Mercury Elite Pro (www.macsales.com), WD case aren't the highest quality and tend to have a high failure rate.

  • Re: Tecra A10 - USB problem on the port replicator

I have a Tecra A10 and sometimes, when I work with her, the devices USB stopped responding if they are connected to the port replicator.
If I connect them to the laptop, they work fine.

I tried to update the BIOS but now when I turn on the laptop it freezes when Toshiba red letters are displayed on the screen. I can work with the laptop properly deattached starting from port replicator.

Have you tried to load the default settings in the BIOS after the update?

If you have external devices connected to the laptop they remove and try again in the duplicator.
Maybe you should also update your laptop chip set driver. You can find them on the Toshiba site.

  • USB & Firewire audio interface ports still work as input and output?

I guess everyone has to start somewhere, even if it is borne by almost everyone I would like to know the answer to my questions, perhaps with good reason, what I don't know is so if the USB ports unique connection and firewire on an audio interface function ALWAYS both as input AND output.  In other words, whenever I read the information about the product on audio interfaces, no matter where I go, it is generally accepted that most people buy their audio interface for RECORDING.  And so when most people talk about connecting their Apple computer, iMac or MacBook Pro, it is generally accepted, they turn to the USB as INPUT.  That's all very well and good.  But in my case, I want to use the USB port as output (not the taken mini) and go into an audio interface that gives me as a symmetric output signal that I can plug my amplified studio monitor (which has only a balanced XLR input). All of the examples I see with audio interfaces address registration and involve the use of the USB on the audio input interface.

So my question is: can one USB port I see on any number of audio interfaces always function both of the inputs and outputs? It takes, but if so, why does any site mention this fact and whey didn't they show in all the diagrams of the audio interface manual hook to studio monitors?  I know what may be obvious to some, but as a user with the intention not to use a piano for a scene while but rather a keyboard/MIDI controller that is attached to the iMac to be able to use the virtual instrument software, I need to go to the controller to the iMac, then the iMac in symmetrical powered monitors. Do the balanced inputs of speakers requires more than a simple adapter to give the President a balanced input.  But nobody talks about audio interfaces usually unless they talk about as a way into the computer to record.  As for my situation? Why don't they include this example?  And why should they assume that novice will automatically KNOW that the usb port, an audio interface will work as an output as if they never EVER mention this example or Setup?  I guess it is to operate in both directions!  But really, I'm crazy to wonder when no one never speaks or shows this configuration? He suggested I buy something similar to a UR22MkII of Steinberg, who has a USB port. Even the Steinberg site speaks only records and so using the USB key as input for use with the recording software. There is no mention of its use out the mac in balanced speaker entries, even in the manual. In fact, it is question is always true for every audio interface manual that I watched, even by other manufacturers! Why they all assume a novice like me (whose money is just as good as money from the experienced user) KNOW that? It's frustrating!

I know that this is not strictly a matter of logic, but I guess, in my view correctly, that a logic user community could be more appropriate to address my question for others communities. If I'm wrong, please help to re-send-the matter.  Thank you.

Sound the interface itself that determines it can send and receive Audio or Midi... not the USB or FW port which both are devices of e/s...

All USB and Midi peripheral FW are inputs and outputs

All the USB and Audio FW are inputs and outputs...

All devices USB or external hardware with a USB port... can handle Midi and Audio...  Some do... Most manipulate just Midi... or just Audio

The Steinberg UR22MkII manages Audio and Midi...

However, I do not recommend USB 2.0 audio devices... There are simply too many cases, problems and questions after the major updates for OS X with such devices especially when they are class compliant (IE without driver), even if the UR22MkII Steinberg is supposed to be compatible 10.11...

View the other may vary... because it's just a personal opinion based on my past experiences both in my studio... and based on the many issues presented here and elsewhere.

I'm sticking with Motu equipment for all my Audio devices... and I use iConnect devices for my Midi needs...
