  • Configuration of USB 2 external 500 GB USB hard drive problems

    Hello gentlemen.

    I recently acquired a disk hard external 500 GB USB part number PX1269E - 1 50.
I have some problems with the configuration of USB 2.0 in windows XP. When I connect it to a usb 2.0 port, I get the message "USB HDD high speed plugged into a hub non-hi-speed usb", and the unit remains low-speed (12 Mbps) USB. (I checked the port with an another usb 2.0 device and the port works correctly in usb 2.0 mode).
I checked the PXI1269E - 1 50 in other PCs and I have same results. I can't make it work in USB 2.0 mode. I also have some problems with the virtual CD that is always present when you insert and mount partition. There is a way to remove it?

I only use the hard drive for data backup every day, and I don't want to use any other drive letters in my system.

The main PC is an ASUS P4P800-E deluxe with windows XP SP2 fully implemented to update and build in the USB 2.0 controller intel.

    Best regards

    DA P

I have connected the 500 GB HDD (PX1269E - 1 50) to my Satellite M40 and it works fine. It works with USB 2.0.
Guys, I think there is something wrong with the controller software or the registry is damaged. Maybe an update is necessary.

PS: I have not installed the additional software on the supplied CD. The operating system automatically acknowledged.

@parabolix: using SP1. Try to install whole MS and SP2 updates.

Hi, this external DVD drive has 2 USB connectors (data and power) and no power supply.
    The dynadock has alternating current.
When I connect the DVD directly to 2 USB ports on the laptop, it works.
When I connect an external hard drive to the Dynadock USB powered it works
When I connect the Iomega DVD drive to the dynadock, it doesn't work and I get an error message "power surge on hub port."

I tested a second dynadock and DVD player (same model) and the same problem occurs.
I also tested all of the USB ports on the dynadock, front and rear.
I looked online for limitations on the dynadock, but found none.

I look forward to any constructive suggestions or information.

    Hello micjam,

the Iomega DVD drive also not functioning, it is linked to the dynadock?
No mouse, keyboard or other usb devices?

Have you tried plugging the dynadock to a different usb port on your computer?

  • Aspire One d255 does not recognize the usb connected external ssd drive

I want to replace the original HDD 160 GB with a 120 GB Samsung ssd 750 evo but bios and win 10 does not recognize the ssd drive as an external drive connected via a usb connection, so I couldn't create an image of my internal hard drive.  Is there a way to clone my hard drive SSD, so I can exchange the disc later?  I need to update the bios, install a missing driver, etc. ?

I used two different connections: one is a 2.5 "SATA case disc that I used with a disk 2.5" HARD and works very well with the HARD drive and the other is SATA/IDE connector combination with cables for SATA and power and none of these works.  I read in another forum during my research that the Aspire One d255 doesn't recognize any external SSD connected through a USB either.  Since my netbook has no data, and I had just a pure 10 Windows installed on his drive HARD internal, I removed the 160 GB HARD drive and replaced by a 120 GB SSD and installed another Windows own 10.  It worked and my system boots now in less than 20 seconds.   We can close this thread now since I now have a faster machine fully function.  Thank you!

  • Disk recognized as usb flash external hard drive

I have an old Samsung SP0411N IDE internal hard drive, I am trying to use as an external hard drive with a SATA & IDE adapter USB & eSATA Conceptronic csatai23u. Windows XP with Service Pack 3 detects the etc. of Sata to usb etc, but instead to detect the hard drive, it detects a usb mass storage, which according to me, that means a usb flash key. • PowerEdge 2900 - size USB drive external Maximum

    Hello

I inherited the responsibility for a Poweredge 2900 server last year. Recently, asked me to mount a NTFS 5 TB external USB drive.

This failed with the following message is displayed:

    $ mount/mnt/external_usb_3
Cannot read the last sector (1220940596): invalid argument
TIPS: The volume is a RAID/LDM, but it was not yet, the installer
or it was not setup correctly (for example by not using not not mdadm - build...).
or a bad device tries to be mounted,
or the partition table is corrupt (partition is smaller than NTFS).
or the NTFS boot sector is corrupt (size NTFS is not valid).
    Failed to mount ' / dev/sdf1 ': invalid argument
The device "/ dev/sdf1 ' is not a valid NTFS partition.
Maybe you selected the wrong device? Or the entire disk instead of one
    partition (/ dev/hda, not/dev/hda1)? Or vice versa?

I know the Poweredge 2900 has a limit of drive HARD internal 2 TB because of the PERC5 / i controller. Is this also true for external USB drives? Or is this another limitation HW or OS? I was reading the documentation and found no (or too looked) the answer.

Is it possible to mount a drive of this size of form/repartitioning fitness?

    Thank you

    Brendan

I don't think that USB would have this type of prescription, unless there was a problem of driver forbidding him. Material, I would say 'no '.

  • US Robotics external and vsphere 5

    Hello

I have a sbs VM 2011 at my host. I have attached to my server American modem Robotics with serial port for my fax server. Sometimes, the modem will disappear from my server.

Serial ports are compatible with vmware vsphere 5?

    Thank you

    Valentina

Perhaps you could clarify how it was, that you managed to make it work a little longer? I tried to attach a US Robotics Curior V everything to the serial port of a vSphere system 5 and use the serial passthrough port so that it can work with a fax virtiualized SBS 2011 system. However after the configuration of the port series and plug the modem can't even question him through Device Manager. I also had to add the modem manually first as Windows PnP detection does not even see it. Anyt'ing thoughts welcome. Thank you!

  • Toshiba USB external hard drive 250GB shows only the red light - sound of rattling

My USB HD external drive to Toshiba aged 16 months stopped working yesterday. It shows just a flashing red light
and makes a slight clicking noise. Of course, we cannot guarantee any more. But all my backups are on this drive,
This means almost 10 years of work destroyed if I cannot access this disc more. Someone knows what to do to fix
    This problem?

    Post edited by: admin

I put t know what the flashing red LED could mean, but it looks like a HARD disk head crash. Perhaps you could find some details in the user manual that the flashing light means.

However, he still stupid s cases of dysfunction of a backup media situation. I had a similar problem with my 2.5 100 GB USB HDD. After about 3 years of work, the HARD drive died and I was not able to access the HARD disk. I was a lucky man because I have backup my data also on the DVD so I was able to restore the files and data.

What to say maybe s possible to save data, but professional help would be necessary. Maybe you should contact technicians for assistance.

Best regards and good luck buddy

  • USB port - C Dell XPS 13 9350 and external storage

    Hello everyone,

I have a 3.1 USB enclosure external (Vantec Nexstar USB 3.1, model # NST - 270a 31 - BK) that I connect to the USB - C (Thunderbird 3) of my XPS 13 laptop 9350 port.  The player does not start even after using two different 3.1 USB cables.  I installed all the USB drivers and Thunderbird from the Dell Web site and active port in the BIOS, but still have no chance to get the player to run.

That's when I plug the player into a standard USB port with a USB 3.0 cable, boots road to the top and is recognized by the laptop without problem.  So if my diagnosis was made correctly, the USB box and wiring is not defective, so the problem must lie with the USB - C port.  Has anyone successfully used port USB - C to access the external storage with a bit of luck?

    See you soon,.

    Kokanee

In another thread ("XPS 13 9350 - SSD USB C 3.1 - very unstable/not usable '-I can not add links), the following fixed my problem by using a drive HARD USB 3.0 with the Dell USB - C for HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB3.1 adapter:

... the adapter USB - C and WiFi are kind of material and power wise. If you go to the options of the advance of the WiFi adapter and change the WiFi output at 75%, this solves a lot of problems with the connection / disconnection of USB - C questions. Exit at 75% reduction does not affect your connection on wireless networks.

My HARD drive kept connect/disconnect when you use the adapter, but this correction took care of her.

  • OPTION TO DELETE FAST WINDOWS 7 USB FLASH DRIVES INCLUDE SOME EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES?

A few years ago, when I switched to smaller hard drive 640 GB HP pocket of Sandisk USB key I used the "Quick removal" option of Windows 7. "Fast moving" option includes the "Pocket reader." The reason for the request is when a Pocket drive is connected, and I right click, go through the process of menu to find the "Quick shift" box to check, it is not available. Is there a way to safely remove external hard drives without going through the routine "eject safely. Drives external hard should they be ejected safely or are "hot" or "n"playing card"or are they covered under the option"fast moving "?

    Basil,

    Thanks for your reply.

Since my first question on this topic yesterday, I have since rediscovered the path that I took two years ago to upgrade my computers in a mode of "quick release". Affecting the computers 'Fast moving' allows me to plug the device I want to use, open the file and when you're done just to remove the USB device without formally engaging the button 'Remove the device safely' at the bottom right of the screen. The option "Fast moving" indicates it where you make your selection. That's my experience of the option "Fast moving" includes the small Sandisk readers of thumb size and big HP 640GO type readers of external pocket. I used this method for the readers of 640GO Pocket nearly two years on a daily basis with two separate HP and assorted small Sandisk flash drives. Here are the instructions to activate the "Quick removal" option, I got:

    (a) Connect USB or external storage device

    (b) click on 'computer '.

c device), right click (the item you just plug it in)

    (d) click 'properties '.

    (e) click on "hardware".

    (f) to find the device you just plug in the list, and then click to open

    (g) click on the button 'change settings '.

    (h) click on tab 'Strategies '.

    (i) select the "Quick removal" option (default)

    (j) click on 'OK '.

Before applying this option, I was using the option 'Remove the device safely' has not always allow me to eject safely. Many times I reboot with the element always connected to try another withdraw safely. That's my experience from two years of consistent "hot swapping" or "chart n"play"according to the method of the"rapid withdrawal"with all of the data still intact.
