USB - hub gets overloaded by modem

When I connect my external modem to my laptop it shows the message that UN USB hardware is causing a disruption of energy... it's a common problem? Thank you for some suggestions.

Would it be possible that the current consumption of the modem is high?

The USB Port doesn't have a Source of unlimited energy.

Do you have information on the Modem?

Good bye

I get an error code 43 for a hub.  This is a wireless router.  I am able to use wireless very well.  But given that the router is right next to my PC Windows 7, would be nice if I could use a direct cable connection to the router as a hub for my internet connection.

I had a Cisco wireless router and it seems to stop working.  so, I bought an incredibly cheap wifi router.  He worked for a while... then the direct connection to the it stopped working too.  [How silly of me to think that the problem was with the Cisco router.  [Bet when I solve this problem, this router as a hub works fine, too.]

  • A powered USB hub will support Ethernet / USB?

Wifi in my office is uneven, so I need to wire a Macbook Pro (if that's the term). Because the Macbook Pro is not an ethernet port, I get an ethernet cable / USB. I also get a USB hub with an AC adapter.

    Hello

As far as I know the unit supports USB 1.1

  • Problems using external USB hub with A30

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30-514 with a USB powered 2.0 hub attached. In it's plugged a powered satellite Receiver/USB modem (for connection broadband), a USB bluetooth adapter and a HP PSC 1350 printer. The first two devices work fine, but the printer is not recognized correctly.

The powered USB hub is plugged into the first USB port on the laptop. The second USB port on the laptop is used by the receiver for a wireless optical mouse. It must be here otherwise, it does not work.
If I plug the printer directly into the second USB port on the laptop, it works fine.

In Device Manager, instead of show all HP devices it comes to peripheral USB Composite in the USB controllers section. It is an orange exclamation next to him.

If I boot the laptop with all 3 devices plugged into the hub and turned on, the printer is detected fine but the Bluetooth Radio devices have an orange instead exclamation point. I need the bluetooth device to attach a cell phone to the laptop. If I unplug the printer and restart the bluetooth is detected OK. Plug the printer in causes the Composite device to reappear with the exclamation point!

From left to right, looking at the front of the hub, devices are 1) satellite receiver/modem, 2) Bluetooth printer) 3.

I hope it's clear. Any help / advice would be received with gratitude.

    Hello

I think the problem is that one of the devices does not have enough power to operate. This is because a single USB port must provide 3 devices with power. If you have an external power supply to one of the features of this you should use.

    Hello

The notebooks of USB ports provide a standard power of 500 my.
As I said that it is a standard, but in USB devices different part 3 external cases need more power.

For example, one of my external USB 2.5 HDD s must be connected with two USB ports at the same time to ensure that the HARD disk would get enough power to function properly.

Your external card is unknown to me but maybe it needs more power as usual.

  • best USB hubs?

Belkin?  J5? Badges? Is there an advantage to having changed ports? I noticed the customers Amazon find fault with several fact, find that they are unreliable.

I just need more 3 ports.

El Capitan is an operating system, it has no impact on the amount of USB ports on the computer to run on.  If the computer has 1 port, then el Capitan magically can he have 5 instead.

I have a compac presario CQ60-215DX notebook and I want to install a usb hub. No matter which usb port I use? would also like to know if it is necessary to remove it to restart my computer"

    Thanks for any help.

    Karen

The only time you usually get trouble with USB ports is when you mix both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices.

    • For all USB 3.0 is backward compatible, it is simply not the case that all the older devices are USB 3.0 compatible.  If you have a problem with an older device, consider that it may be because it is plugged into a USB 3.0 hub / port.
    • Not all hubs are created equal.  If you try to run some devices high speed (things you plug a hub) on a lower speed (2.0) turntable, they may lose the integrity of the data (Act funny) or refuse to perform certain tasks (depending on the device).  These devices may work best when it is plugged directly into the computer no matter that they are running as the USB 3.0 or USB 2.0.  It is not, therefore, necessarily what port the hub is connected - rather, it could be the hub itself (if you have problems).

Peripheral USB could better with a reboot - some may not reset at all without rebooting.  A USB hub, one of the simplest types - these are usually plug-and-play.  That's all that is connected to the hub, which could be the determining factor for the restart.  It's Windows - it is always better to restart when things change.

  • Serial USB Hub error

    Hello

I am currently using a USB-6009 case and another device connected via USB using a virtual COM port. These are connected to the computer via a powered external USB 4 port hub. Whenever I run VI I get the following error:

Error 1073807343 has occurred to the property node

(arg 1) visa set up a Serial Port (Instr) .vi.

    > Read MI3 Temp.vi-> SagDAQ.vi

    Possible reasons:

VISA: Insufficient location information (Hex 0xBFFF0011) or

the device or resource is not present in the system.

After this error I have to disconnect and reconnect the device to use. I installed the drivers that came with the device and if I use the software supplied with the unit provided I have no problem with the device at all.

I also noticed that if I do not use the USB hub there no problem either, however, I have to use the hub for this configuration that the ports are limited.

I have this unit used in several parts of my VI, but everything works in series and all instances are completed by closing the VISA resource. If I open just one of the sub - VI which calls the device that I can run indefinitely without any problem on the hub, but for some reason when I use them in the main VI I get this error.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem or knows how to handle?

    Thank you!

    Hello Jeff,.

Josh has created a demand for service inside OR to ask for help, so after sent us his code, we noticed that he was using the configure serial port VISA 3 times one after the other, the third VISA configure serial port VI was so poping of the error settings in this VI were does not match the previuosly those configured. After leaving one set up VISA VI serial port in the code, the error disappears.

  • Power on the usb hub failure?

Power on the usb hub failure is it affects all hubs and devices that connect to the hub?

    Hello

If the surge is important enough to fry a USB hub then it can damage the other devices connected with it. If it is connected to a computer, that power could prevent other devices to get affected, getting itself damaged in the process.

  • I need to (re) activate Windows, I think it's the fault of my USB hub

I have been using a USB hub recently.  I only have a single reliable USB port (outside), so I plug it into that and into a less reliable port for more power.  Sometimes, it works very well.  Sometimes, the computer can not detect it, and sometimes the computer emits a high-pitched buzzing sound when I plug in the power cable from the hub to the second USB port.  Today when I plugged the power cable, the computer off.  Now the computer asks me to activate Windows, despite having used Windows on this computer for years.  I was not able to connect to the internet to activate online, so I tried by phone.  When I presented the telephone installation ID, the machine on the phone said they do not recognize it as a product "valid."

Is it possible I can get Windows working again, by activating or making it so I don't have to turn it on?

Assuming you can get connected, you can try a system restore, possibly from safe mode. Re-post if you need help with that.

You don't have to use the automated phone system, simply hold the line without pressing any button and you will be sent (eventually) to a real person condition you ignore their pleas. Explain your situation and they will probably (though not really) help you get activated.

Please mark it as useful or response, as appropriate.
