    Hi Ray,

The option I would choose would be your first. At least if you run all the programs 'before' security safeguard, you are sure to have virus/malware free backup. In most cases, unless you are a large company, weekly backups would be nice rather than every two weeks - unless, of course, you do a lot of alterations for a week to your files you need to backup all the two weeks. Hello

already made an update of the BIOS? It would be useful, maybe it s just because the BIOS does not correctly handle the Ultimate. What drivers did you download?

It s a bit tricky, but I think that if you reinstall, and then put the drivers on it, it should work. Don't forget: Vista Ultimate needs a lot of resources and a bunch of useless stuff that can cause the machine does not properly.

  • Licensing issue? I need to replace the default motherboard with a 'Detail' education Vista Ultimate Upgrade on top of XP "OEM." Can legitimately transfer my license everywhere and how?

I am currently a computer on which I already installed XP OEM and upgraded to the edition upgrade Vista Ultimate retailers through the ultimate steal Microsoft.

    [Reminder]

The problem I have is that I've recently updated my graphics card to a card of Nvidia 7300GS card Nvidia GT240 on which my motherboard was properly assessed. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances (I dunno if it's associated graphics or an electrical surge problem, I suspect the latter as the card is fine) my PCI Express slot is fried! This resulted in the motherboard being unable to start any card in the PCI Express slot and gives a series of BIOS beep error codes. I even dug my old graphics (7300GS) and he was still unable to boot. Accordingly, I need to replace the motherboard for the PCI Express slot works if I use a graphics card.

    [Problem]

Since the license Vista Retail Upgrade that I use currently is the edition of 'detail', can I simply change my motherboard everything and turn it back on, or is it more complex because it is installed on the high XP OEM that is bound to the default motherboard? What are my options?

I have to buy another XP OEM license and reinstall everything from scratch? What happens if I didn't reinstall and just changed the motherboard and drivers updated my current installation? Is - is this legitimate?

As I understand it, the Windows for OEM license allows a person replace a motherboard of 'default' (GA-M55plus-S3G in my case) for a replacement under certain conditions, mainly as for everything. Am I entitled to it? If so, what motherboard would be I can replace by although it is considered an upgrade? I have in mind an ASUS M4A78L-M as it is cheap and comes with connectors female jack audio 8 channels on the backplate was on my old motherboard.

My main confusion is to know what license applies to me because of the upgrade process, retail of Vista or XP OEM? Upgrades medium I improve my driver's license?

I would like to solve this problem without canceling my licenst but just don't know how?

Thank you very much for any help or advice.

  • Satellite L355-S7812 - no sound on Vista Ultimate

    Hello!

I have a problem, my L355 lost sound, I use Vista Ultimate, something happened and everything seems to be ok.
I see that volume works on monitor, I can see indicators sound on monitor but nothing does not come from speakers and headphones.
    What can be the reason?

Is it possible to force the laptop to produce all the sounds in mode bios to make sure whether it is hardware or software (vista) problem?

How is it with warranty, I got it as a gift, it was bought in the USA and I live in Poland.
I only printed confirmation of payment from my uncle who paid for it and all the papers that came with it.

As the seller claims, there is warranty of world for this laptop...

    Best regards
    Adrian

    Hello

I doubt that it's a hardware problem, so your warranty won't help because warranty doesn't cover software issues.

I don t think that this laptop was preinstalled with Vista Ultimate.
Have you installed this Vista with your own hands?

In your case I would remove the sound card in Device Manager and could restart the laptop.
The audio driver should install again and the sound card should appear correctly in Device Manager.
    You should test it!

  • Vista Home Premium VS. Vista Ultimate - what differences

I bought a laptop with Vista Home Premium O.S. and I experianced with GFgo7900GS graphics issue.

Now I have the opportunity to buy Vista Ultimate two times cheaper than in stores, so here's my question:
What will be the difference in performance of games when I'm going to change this system?

I heard that it is the only version of Vista, where can I play games without problems.

    Hello

Sorry, I have to disappoint you, but on your overall performance of the system, nothing will change. It will probably cause less performance, because Vista Ultimate is so
overloaded with graphic additional stuff (like animations, aero, blablabla.) and this guy who tells you that the games should run faster, no. CLUE bat, on operating systems or at least
    Windows Vista.

If you want to learn more about the different versions of Vista, then type the words "vista ultimate performance" in a big searchengine like google and try to find out and get a
unfamiliar with the system how Vista handles existing resources.

You will find that the only system to play games at the moment is Windows XP.
THE only ONE, because XP needs about 50% less system resources, there are more drivers and drivers for XP give you much more performance as vista drivers.

So, I hope that I could give you some good information on this topic of 'Vista '. It s a little more complicated than you think, so I wanted to give you a BRIEF description. :)

    Welcome them

  • I can't get Age of Empires III to install on my Vista Ultimate 64 system!

I tried to install several times without success.  I don't even get an error message!  The installation box runs through the routine of preparation and then closes without any report either.

I did some research and found quite a long thread on this forum since 2009 by a person called Summerbreeze who seemed to have a similar problem.  After several posts back the thread died suddenly without any apparent resolution.  Apparently, it is possible to get this game to work on Vista because I keep seeing questions and reports on various hardware issues with Vista users.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64, SP2, on a workstation Intel S5000VXNSATA that has two processors dual core Xeon 5130 and 4 GB of RAM.  My video configuration is a dual monitor connected to a graphics NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI card that carries the 256 MB of RAM on board.  I have 2 hard drives of 160 GB configured in RAID 0, but I have only about 50 free BM for the moment.  I am currently compressing readers in an attempt to free up space.

Any of my equipment from the list of incompatibility and I certainly sufficient power to run this thing, then why the problems?
