  Bart, have you checked in 'My Computer' when this happens to see if the drives are there?  Almost looks like you have a virtual drive on your computer program.  Check also in start/startup to see if he is there that nothing listed that could cause this to happen.  Four readers Ghost is really strange.

  I asked a question yesterday about an error message that says: USB Mass Storage Device has a driver problem.  This morning I tried unplugging the power to the printer and then plugged back in.... problem solved.  No need for additional assistance at this time.  Thanks anyway!

  Are you sure that the USB is not bad? Also have you tried on some other computer USB3 ports to see if those who can see the drive? Looks like your USB is not USB3 if it can read the disk HARD USB3 but not the USB3 Flash in question. Also make sure that your laptop ports are USB3 ports? I can find no reason why the drivers would install and report that they are working correctly, but fail to connect to 3.0 speeds.   Here go us. I knew that is was a bad idea to buy one main (ASUS P5QL-EM) card that had to be overclocked to 1066 MHz for DRAM memory. I did all this work, and every time I reset my BIOS or updated it would always be the frequency DRAM back to where it should be (1066). After a reset of the computer was the starter and I just let it start instead of setting the DRAM frequency and, suddenly, USB 3.0 card worked perfectly. I confirmed this by setting the frequency to 1066 and looking at the USB 3.0 card fail again. I guess it must have something to do with the clock being sent to the PCIe bus.

  In any case, the USB 3.0 card works perfectly and gives me a transfer rate HD Tune to 99 MB/s on a drive from WD SATA 7200 RPM and 86.1 Mbps on a Samsung drive hard 5400 RPM / MIN 3,5 "SATA. These are the same reference points I get when these drives are connected to my internal SATA connectors. I'd say USB 3.o works perfectly now and maxing out the hard drives performance.

  My problem is: when I install ZTE MF190 Dongle (USB Modem Stick) first time as administrator it work well, but when restart windows and switch the usb modem, connect as user limited to work, it has not detected (Modem USB Stick) in windows and I found in the "USB mass storage" Device Manager with yellow mark and tied to the usb modem.

  My question is: how except "USB mass storage" which associated (Modem USB Stick) of limited strategy of USB storage for the usb modem work.

  Note: I've updated "USB mass storage" windows with compatible driver (USB composite device), the modem worked, but when restart it windows that the same problem with "USB mass storage" brand yellow and usb modem not detected again in windows.

  on a computer hp laptop double heart running vista;  try to use the old never used western digital 500 GB caviar blue as disk hard external for backup/storage purposes. Vista does not except as a usb mass storage device.  as soon as I arrive at the radio Shack to the cheap ide cable, I need to decide on the way to go here. I want a clean version of vista that is stored in its own partition, one for general campaigns and then one for pictures, etc... .  I'm ok with mass storage or not here? No geek.

  The external storage device will appear only as usb mass storage device.

  You can use the external device for general storage purposes but the operating system should be stored in the internal hard disk only.
