USB port: compaq 15-s109ng

I have a problem with the laptop usb doesn't know me and do not download from the Internet is a way to open USB... laptop is compaq 15-s109ng... windows 7 64 bit

You must use one of the USB 2 ports, until you can install this driver.

For the wireless network adapter, please do the following steps, so I can understand what model of laptop wireless card and then I'll post the link for the driver, you need to.

Go to Device Manager, there should be a category of other devices.

In this category, there should be a device labeled network controller.

Please post the hardware ID of the marked device Network Controller.

To find the hardware ID, click the network controller device.

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window of network controller device.

Now you should see a drop-down list of property and it will be set to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

    Hello:

You have to plug your USB key in one of the USB2 ports until you get the 3 USB driver installed,

  • Two of the three USB ports works only on Compaq CQ71 (Windows 7).

    Hi, I have a Compaq Presario CQ71.

There is a USB port on the left and two on the right. The one on the left works but the two on the right are not.  An "unrecognized" message when you use one of them, but not with each other, however there is power coming from him, as when I plug a mouse to infrared light is turned on.
Ive updated Chipset drivers and BIOS on Compaq website. I also made sure to do all the updates of Windows. Help, please! Its driving me crazy!

Did you meet a very old thread... but... I know that with some machines, you can actually disable some ports USB in the BIOS. Take a look here and see if there's anything out there.

  • Boot from USB on Compaq Presario V2610

    Hello

I have an old machine on which I intend to install Lubuntu 13.10 replacing, which is the following.

    Compaq Presario V2610 notebook PC

    PhoenixBIOS F.25

    BIOS settings:

    Advanced > Boot Order >-hard drive >

    BIOS hard drive Option:

    ! IC25N060... (I disabled the HARD drive via the '! ')

AVIXE PDU01_2G 67A2.0 (I have a USB 2.0 flash drive that also supports 1.0, which the BIOS sees it, and it is recognized)

The BIOS is configured to try hard as third in the boot order, even the default normal setting.

I confirmed that this USB itself and its distribution Lubuntu is valid. Lubuntu stops on her successfully, on another machine manufacturer and BIOS. However, when I try to boot from the USB port on the Presario, I see:

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of

PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM

If I connect a LAN cable to remove this message, I see this instead:

CLIENT MAC ADDR: (mac address) GUID: (guid)

    DHCP... (spinning "/")

PXE - E53: no boot file received

PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM

I didn't, it should be a cable LAN by the BIOS for a standalone install USB, but in all cases, the BIOS doesn't seem to be reading this viable USB Lubuntu drive. I tried both ports on the machine.

I also tried a Win7-32 bit USB, via USB from the separate manufacturer a - DATA. In both cases, the Presario BIOS recognizes the device, the name of his unique manufacturer, but fails to boot on it.

Can you let me know what I am doing wrong?

    Hello

I solved the problem on my own. It turns out that boot prescription must be set up in the BIOS, rather than simply turn off the HARD disk write via «!» F5/F6 accomplishes that.

    BIOS hard drive Option:

AVIXE PDU01_2G 67A2.0 (F6 to swap the order)

    IC25N060...

The USB key is then recognized at startup.

    Sorry for the post.

  • My DC-7800 will not identify devices on USB port.

Slim desktop computer HP Compaq dc7800

I bought an opportunity DC7800 (no disc).  I ran the compatibility of Windows 7 software and it didn't come back with any problems.  I installed Windows 7 Ultimate.  USB does not recognize any jump readers, portable discs or iPod (However when I plug in my external drive Toshiba it powers the drive upwards - just don't install any drivers or shoot them in the directory.)  I installed a printer and it prints well, but even with printing action I can not access the printer on the network (I can access the Public folder shared on the network - so that's good).  After you play with it for several hours, I installed Vista Ultimate on.  He always has exactly the same problem with the USB ports (again... motorized Toshiba but don't even recognize).  I installed all the drivers on the HP site.  Really all that my wife needs him for is the internet and sync his iPhone (it is not recognize it when it is plugged).  Either way, I have no plug in a USB or anything before installing Windows 7.

Ok. If you have Vista Ultimate on...

See to install the latest chipset driver work.  Install and reboot.

It seems that USB devices operate normally (at least with regard to Device Manager is concerned).

If the USB port still does not work after installing all the drivers above, go back and uninstall these usb controllers and restart.

If it does not, there is probably some kind of hardware problem that I don't know how to fix.

  • USB ports not recognized on the computer.

erased win 8 and reinstalled win 7 ultimate. Now computer will not recognize and usb ports. What should I do?

I use a Compaq Presario 5320. USB works, that I plug my Saitek yoke and it works correctly. It's only usb drives I plug in I get the message, that he doesn´t recognize...

The problem with coming back to win 7 is may or may not win 7 drivers.  I would contact Compaq to see if there is win 7 drivers.

Another problem if your computer comes with win 8 pre-installed revenant may void the warranty

  • How to assign a constant name 'letter' to the USB port?

My Compaq Presario with Windows 7 has two USB ports on the front and on the back.  I use both to the front to connect a drive hard ext to the back, usb flash drives and a camera. Everytime Iplug in the disk hard ext, the PC assigns a letter to port such as J.  The next time I plug the camera into the same port, the PC gives it a different letter and I need to go back up and reconfigre Norton where to back up.  How to assign a constant name 'letter' to the USB port?

I think that the previous answer may have been cut off, but they were right. You assign it a letter on the USB port, you assign a letter to the device. With your drive plugged, if you right-click on the computer icon and select manage you will arrive at the computer management screen. Click the disk management icon and you should see your drive listed. Right click on that and you should see a choice to change the drive letter and path. From there, click change and select a drive letter for your device.

  • Message from the USB port speed

I have a laptop HP Compaq NW8240 running on W7 last month recently, I plugged in a USB USBHUB04 of Linksys hub. It works fine but when I plug a flashdrive in there, it displays a message in the lower task bar "this USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a hi-speed USB 2.0 port. Should I have a missing driver? I thought that all USB ports on this laptop was 2.0.

Sorry that none of the steps that you took to remedy the problem.

You did exactly what I would have done it, so unfortunately, I couldn't even begin to tell you what to do next.

You may have to live with the status quo.

I wonder if this is a false message...

Your USB devices work more slowly than normal as a USB HARD drive or flash drive.

Data transfer seems slower than you're used to?

  • Closing lid on my CQ61 disables USB ports...

I try to use my Compaq CQ61Z as a HTPC.  I connected via HDMI to my stereo receiver and use a keyboard and mouse with Receiver USB wireless to fight against it from across the room.

Everything works fine, except when I close the lid.  I found the power setting to do not have the laptop to standby automatically when the lid is closed, but the keyboard and mouse stop working when the lid is closed.  This pretty much kills the idea to use this laptop as a HTPC.

As soon as I open the cover, the KB & mouse start working again.  I can't find anything in the power settings that would have an impact on the USB ports.

    Any suggestions?

If you go into the advanced power options there is a setting for USB devices, you can change to disable selective suspend
