USB ports have power when the PC is shut down. Power supply connected to the battery.

PC is HP G62 - 222us W7 64-bit.  When the PC was first powered, they gave me the option to allow USB ports ON or OFF after his stop. I chose IT, but now I want ports USB OFF after his stop.  I can't remember have this option is found. Any help would be great.   Thanks in advance for your help...

I found my answer: Control Panel Goto (W7), search for 'power', click "Change the Power settings", click on "USB settings", click on "USB selective suspend parameters", for the battery, select "Disable", except change, click OK.

Now, all USB PORTS are INACTIVE when the PC is shut DOWN.

  • WiFi radio adapter off, the USB ports does not and the Bluetooth adapter is no longer visible... Please help!

I had my laptop Dell Vostro repaired under insurance in January 2013 after a spill of liquid.  HAAC Ltd. has replaced most of the laptop - but the return, the SD card did not work.  This seems to be due to the engineer he connects not properly and the company recommended it and returned it to me again.  A couple of months, I found my USB was temperamental - so is my built in Bluetooth adapter.   Last month - the wifi does not work for most of the time either so I have to connect to my router by wire.

This could be a problem in windows 7 - all my problems seem to be related to network adapters.  If it's a hardware problem - does anyone know if it could be another loose connection?  HAAC Ltd. only give a 3 month warranty on parts that seems just a little.  But if this anomaly is due to the production of poor quality - that is not properly connect the laptop then I'll go back their again if they are responsible.

By the way – there's a switch wifi on the front of the laptop - but is not currently be recognized.

If anyone has settings that I could check that can help - especially if some inhibit the use of wifi.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Your wifi switch not recognized is probably a hardware problem. The rest could be a hardware or software problem.

    Method 1:

Lets start by doing a reset to coercive. Follow these steps:

    1. Unplug the notebook (remove power cord), then remove the battery.
    2. Disconnect all USB devices and the connections between the USB ports.
    3. Let the laptop only for several minutes.
    4. Then plug the power cord without connecting the USB devices. Then replace the battery.
    5. Plug each device in turn, allowing them to load the drivers of devices one at a time (plug in the appliance and wait its loading all its drivers before installing the next USB).

The computer recognizes the USB ports? All of them or none of them?

    Method 2:

Open Control Panel, Manager of design. Click the view tab, and then click Show all devices. From there, you can remove all instances of USB devices and restart the computer to see if the problem resolves. Repeat this procedure with the wireless adapter (uninstall and reinstall, ensuring that there is only one instance of the wireless adapter).

    Method 3:

Create a new user account by following the instructions in this article:   http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Create-a-user-account . Does this solve the problem?  If the problem is resolved in a new user account, this means that the old user profile is damaged. Here is the link to repair a damaged user account: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

Try these methods and post your results here. I'll be here waiting for the results!

    Hello

To get to play, pause and other buttons works, you need to install the VAP (value added package).

The USB ports are controlled by the chipset, so I recommend you to install the chipset driver to get this resolved.

I hope this helps a little

    Hello

    1. what happens when you start the laptop, you receive no error message?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

I suggest to remove the battery and connect the laptop to AC power and then try to start the computer to see if the problem is with the battery.

I suggest you to contact Dell support on the issue, as this can be a hardware problem.

It is not easy to get this information here. I m afraid person here can help you with these specific things.
Problem is also to get these components materials as separate pieces. In my opinion, you should try to buy some mainboard at low prices for this model of laptop with perhaps damage of CPU and try to make it work again.

What you can also try is to contact Toshiba service in your country and ask for help.

    Hi mate,
Don t worry, just use your machine and leave your battery in your machine, because an electronic load look at your battery, so no damage will be caused.

You know, technology is in fact at a good level and I think it s ok to operate your machine with cables and battery SET. :

I can't open the system when he was sht down. But the system was the heat and I have to remove the battery for a while and it should re-sttart, what the problem.

Too generic a question, can you clarify considerably more for us? Your question could be reformulated in the following way and always be true?

"I can't start my computer once he has had a BSOD. Something overheated, but I don't know. I removed the CMOS battery and replaced in order to asure me that a bad overclock on a core component has not caused the problem. Now, it restarts correctly, what is / was the problem? »
The foregoing, what I thought you meant. The above statement is correct?
  • Fuze 4 GB warning disconnect and reconnect to Windows 7 pc... when the battery is low.

So I just got a rocket and I love it.  Done a good deal about it.  Windows 7 picked it up and transfer of music is not a problem when the unit is fully charged.

What IS a problem, is that when the battery is low and I have to plug the "rocket" on my PC to load... it keeps connection / disconnection.  The program of control of rocket guard Center popping up and go, arise and disappear... frustrating.  I tried the DPW and MCP modes (actually in DMC mode on the control panel is not everything and it does not recognize that the device is connected).  I've tried different USB ports.  No hub at issue here.

Here's the kicker... If I load the "rocket" first (plug into a USB Kindle charger), once it has loaded it connects very well.

Ran the update of the firmware and I'm on the latest firmware it was available, 1.02.31.

I would like to know how to solve this problem, because I don't always have the small USB Kindle charger with me, and that would well be load from a PC... which is what the original, right intention was?

Except that I like it and really dig the FM radio tuner.  It is very bad!

    Hosers, all.

Usb hub 4 ports powered solved my problem.  'duh, I think yer cable is bad' I DO NOT.  Apparently, the "rocket" sucks just too much power.

So I solved my problem with a $ 5 usb hub.  Yippee.

  • When the battery drops below 50% the Satellite P200 turns off

The laptop turns off when the battery is less than 50%.
Do I have to get a new battery or what?

    Hello

I guess you have preinstalled Vista.
Have you checked your vista power management configuration?

There you can assign some settings that would control the laptop turned off depending on the State of the battery.

I think you need to set it to a lower level for example 5%

  • Satellite U300 turns off when the battery has been removed

    Hello

I'm on the laptop with the battery in place, and the power supply plugged in.
That's when I take off the battery (always plugged power) who, after 5 seconds the laptop powers off.

It's not happened before and now it happens ALL the time every time I have to remove the battery.
I noticed that when the battery is removed, the battery light is always on – if for some reason any cell phone still thinks the battery is connected.

For me, it looks like an electronic power supply problem.

But it s just my personal opinion

I think that the laptop should be checked by an authorized technician.

Contact the ASP in your country and ask for verification

If the warranty is valid then an everything should be done for free

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite U300 hibernates when the battery is very low

    Hello

I bought my satellite U300 141 two weeks ago.
The computer is not put into hibernation when the battery is very low.

I checked the settings of vista, default 2% of the battery capacity, the laptop must Hibernate. But mine is not.
But I noticed that the battery level does not fall below 5%. I tried to change the setting of vista from 2% to 5%, but it has no effect.

Telephone toshiba support told me to update the package of the value 'stretched out' or something like that, but it has no impact too.
    the problem is still there.

    Anyone have an answer?
I also tried to update the BIOS, but during the upgrade process, the software told me that I can't because I'm not the administrator of the computer, I am sure I am.

so, if someone can help me please...

Please check first if hibernation was enabled in Vista power options.
Then you can assign to hibernation level up to 10%

Maybe then your laptop will be able to enter hibernation mode

  • Re: Satellite Pro L670 - can I turn off the sound when the battery is empty?

    Hello

Is it possible to disable the bios beep when the battery is empty or the laptop's Hibernate?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L670.

Even when the sound in Windows is turned off the laptop do a annoying sound.

    Thank you!

Maybe it sounds silly, but I put t understand why that should be disabled. When the battery reaches the critical battery level you will be informed about this and portable must be connected to the power running or you have to save your work and turn it off.

Do you really want to work until the battery is completely discharged?

Anyway, AFAIK this notification level BIOS cannot be disabled.
Let's see if someone else is better informed than me.

  • Use of AC when the battery is at 100%? (S7-391)

    Hello world!

I have been affected by the worst support from Acer, I have no problem with the ultrabook himself (Acer Aspire S7-391) but I have some doubts about pilots and other things, that they have avoided answering many ways. So, here's the thing:

This ultrabook has all drivers that could be use the AC power when the battery charge reaches 100% to avoid tampering with the battery?

The thing is that while I have 100% of the battery and the ultrabook is connected to the power adapter, it always seems to be draining the battery power and recharging it back to being 100% all the time.

When I ask about the drivers, who might or might not be installed, I just need to find a way to access this functionality if possible, and if I can't, I need to know as soon as POSSIBLE so that I can start unplug the laptop right after that the battery has reached 100%.

    Thanks in advance.

As you said with Connector 2 power pins can also disconnect the battery charge. It can disconnect the power supply from the battery charging circuit when the battery reaches a particular % with the laptop running load in power cables. I do not think that your computers support portable setting the level of charge of battery to a % custom. Your laptop must have a particular hardware and BIOS that supports. In some laptops, the BIOS has the ability to define a particular % of battery charge. I read somewhere that windows 8 do not support this feature, old version of windows (Vista) support this feature.

Some write up I found online to help you.

    Memory effect

First of all, it is necessary to unfold a myth that persists in the minds of many people.

    The effect of stack memory.

In the basis of lithium batteries, it is in fact a myth, it applies only to the old nickel-based batteries. Therefore fully discharge and recharge the battery are completely useless and even harmful as discussed below.

The modern lithium battery can be charged independently of its current percentage, because he has absolutely no negative effect in his performances.

Should I remove the battery when the a/c is connected?

Many users of portable computers have this question and we will answer it right now:

The answer is: YES and NO, it depends on the situation.

Have a fully charged battery and the laptop is connected is not harmful, because as soon as the load level of 100% of the battery stops receiving the energy load and this energy is shorted directly on the power of the laptop system.

However, there is a downside to keep the battery in the holder when the laptop is plugged in, but only if he currently suffers from excessive warming caused by the hardware of the laptop.

    So:

    -In normal use, if the laptop does not get too hot (CPU and hard drive around 40 ° c to 50 ° c) the battery must remain into the Jack of the laptop;

-Intensive use, which leads to a large amount of heat produced (i.e. games, temperatures over 60 ° c) the battery should be removed the socket in order to avoid unwanted heating.

The heat between the fact that he has 100% load, is the great enemy of the lithium battery and not the plug, as many might think so.

    Battery discharging

Full battery discharges (until the computer laptop power shutdown, 0%) should be avoided, because he insists a lot on the battery and may even damage it. It is recommended to perform partial discharge to levels of capacity of 20 ~ 30% and frequent accusations, instead of performing a complete discharge followed for a full charge.

Laptop PC battery contain a gauge of capacity that allows us to know the exact amount of stored energy. However, due to the charge/discharge cycles, this sensor tends to be inaccurate overtime.

Some laptops include in their BIOS, tools to recalibrate the battery meter, which is nothing else than a full discharge followed by a charge complete.

So to calibrate the gauge, it is desirable, in all cycles 30 discharge, a full uninterrupted discharge, followed by a too, non-stop, full charge.

An inaccurate gauge may have to the fact that the capacity of the battery are values are false. The battery can report that he still has 10% of capacity, when in fact it has a much lower value, and this causes the computer to the unexpected shutdown.

Cycles of discharge (or charge) are to use this charge battery (100%), but not necessarily all at once.

For example, you can use the laptop for a few minutes in a day, using half of its e ability then it load completely. If you did the same thing the next day, it can be considered a discharge cycle, not two, so it may take several days before finishing a complete discharge cycle.
