USB printer via wired airport

Hye everyone,

Can I share my usb printer on my express airport, through my cable modem? What I mean: my iMac 27 "is wired, my MacBook can be wired or wireless.

Can I connect my Airport with an ethernetcable to my modem, just received the impression of two computers from there?

Thanks for all your answers!

Greetz,

Jan

It would be useful to know if your "cable modem" is just a modem or a modem combination and router or gateway. To address this issue if it please provide brand and model please?

Then theres no reaction when I connect my printer to the TimeCapsule.

    Any ideas?

When you reset the TC which settings you changed?

    Have a different IP address?

Remove the printer to the computer and start the installation... If the TC changes IP it can mess up the connection.

In the contrary case, we need a lot more info about what happened and your entire network. Printers can be extremely difficult to get running... the end plug it into a computer as it was designed to be... A USB printer is not network... and no USB print server cannot overcome the fundamental nature of the printer... It is designed for local use. Ultimately, that he will always give you problems.

  • 1102w won't print via USB

We have a 1102w currently used via USB.  It works perfectly with the macbook from my wife and my computer laptop windows 7.

I have a macbook pro with the OSC v 10.9.5 and went through the routine to add printer, but when I print I can see that the document will print to the queue, the print queue empties but the printer does not print the document, the blue light flashes but no printing... any help in getting this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @richardskelt ,

I see by your post that you can't print via a USB connection on the computer of 10.9, but you can print on the Macbook and the Windows 7 laptop. I will do my best to help you with this problem.

Connect the printer directly to the Mac USB cable and run the updates Apple to install the printer.

Verify that the correct driver for the printer name is listed.

Click on the Apple menu, click System Preferences. Click on Printers & Scanners, highlight the name of the printer on the left side and right side of the screen it should show the name of the printer. (P1102w)

If the full name of the printer is not correctly, delete and add the printer name back from the list. Click on the sign - to remove the driver and then click on the + sign to add the driver might have to drop-down list to select the name of the printer to add a click.

    Test the printer.

If you're still having problems, follow these steps:

Fix permissions of the drive on the Mac:

    Close all applications.

In the Apple menu, click OK, click Applications, and then click utilities.

    Double-click disk utility.

Highlight your hard drive / partition on the left.

Click on check and then repair disk permissions.

    Restart the computer...

    Reset the printing system:

Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

Click the Apple icon, and then click System Preferences.

    Click on Printers & Scanners.

Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset printing system.

Click OK to confirm the reset.

Type the name and the correct password.

Click OK to reset the printing system.

Then click on the + sign to add the driver, you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer, and then click the Add button.

    Test the printer again.

If you need help, let me know.

    Good day!
    Thank you.

    Hi BH.

I activated the such LPD service indicated in your link, but it did not turn. When I sailed through the other answers the last one said to remove the spaces in the name of the shared printer. I did it and it seems to work.

Thank you for helping me with this problem. It is unlikely that I would have found the link on my own.

  • Connect the new iPad Pro for USB printer

Do I need a special cable or a Hub to connect these 2 elements.

You cannot connect via USB to your iPad, it will not be recognized. Is the printer compatible wifi?

If the printer supports AirPrint, you can use your wifi network to print on it: on AirPrint - Apple Support

If it isn't, some printer manufacturers have their own applications in the App Store to print their via wifi, or there are third party printer applications in the App Store that could work with him.

If the printer is not compatible wifi, you could (I have not tried) able to connect it to a computer and print to it via who (for example print via an app on the iPad that sends the print job to/through the computer)

  • DeskJet 2540: cannot convert mac wireless usb printer

    Hello

I'm having a problem setting my printer all-in-one Deskjet 2540 on my macbook (osx El Capitan). After basic implementation through usb connection, I was able to connect my printer to my router, which makes possible wireless printing. I was then able to print wireless from my phone using remote control all-in-one app.

However, I now want my macbook to establish a wireless connection to the printer instead of the usb connection that is used for configuration. I can't find the option to convert a usb printer to a printer that is connected to the wifi. When disconnecting from usb, laptop computer notes the connection with the printer is lost. To install my printer, I use the HP Utility software, in which I can't find such an option. Also, when passing through Apple-> system-> printers and scanners preferences I can't find an option "convert to wireless. I also read a method via Finder-> applications-> HP and then an icon for installing the software & should be there? In my case, there is only the HP Utility icon which directs me to the same program in which I could not find the option.

What I was looking for, and where can I find it?

Might be a little exaggerated description, but I hope that this makes it extremely clear...

  • HP Envy 5532 - Win 7 64 - bit - USB printing problem

    Hi all

I recently bought a HP Envy 5532 all-in-one, which is located to the sides of

my HP Compaq 6000 running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I tried a few HP diagnostic programs, which recognize,

but do not solve the problem and suggest uninstall and start again.

I also installed the latest driver download, rather than the installation disc.

I also tried the Fixit Windows for the USB, nothing helps.

My problem is, no matter how to install software/drivers to support this

device, I can't print via USB.

Once installed, I print a test page for 'printer properties', I can see the coil of the page

in the active jobs window, then disappear and... nothing.

There seems to be a link broken between the printer and USB001 which is the virtual USB port

Everyone knows and if so, please share how you solved.

as it is driving me crazy.

    Thanks in advance

After doing a bit more research, it is certainly a problem of Windows security permissions.

I have a workaround by following this link and can now print. :-), but do not know the security implications.

Not sure that the installer sets incorrect permissions during installation,

Certainly, I ran the installer as an administrator and still had the problem.

Maybe you could advise on the required parameters?

  • Unable to connect to the printer via IP address

I changed my ISP (internet service provider) and therefore changed routers - now unable to connect to the printer.
I put a static IP address on my HP Photosmart B110a printer before we changed to ISP because there are connection problems. When we were setup to the ISP again, we are unable to connect to the printer, such as the printers IP 192.168.1.12
The new network ISP IP range is 192.168.0.xx and printers address IP is out of the network.
I can print via the USB cable but I can't return to my printers GUI by entering 192.168.1.12 return the printer back from the static IP address.
A hard reset for this printer would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello
I solved the problem. The answer was staring face heres so my solution for someone who has had similar problems.
I didn't dig up the old router that affects the 192.168.1.xx IP network and then connected my PC, connected my printer then connected printers user interface through the static IP address, I assigned earlier. Changed to automatic IP. Connected my new router (which assigns the IP addresses of 192.168.0.xx) to my PC and printer. Everything is now OK.
    Thank you.

  • C6280, win7 cannot print via active network with VPN

Hi, I have 2 PCs, one Vista, one on Win7. With Vista, I can print over the network.

Also, via USB on the win7 PC I can print.

But I can't print via active on the Win7 with VPN network. Without VPN, it works.

I had several problems with the installation of the SW. Finally it worked (I think I had to turn my VPN connection)

It recognizes the printer, the State says: ready, but when I print, I get an error after a while.

When I stop the VPN, I can print.

I tried to load the patch for Win 7 (recommended on HP circuit (printer disappears), but what it says that I don't have the SW right?)

    any idea?

  • Cannot access windows temp file .pdf Creator to function or install USB printer

    Nice day

I was pulling my hair out on this one, please help!

This is a new PC installed with windows 7 basic

I haven't installed a physical printer via USB, no problem, then tried to install a PDF Creator to send statements of a rental program. Installation and opening the .pdf Creator program, I get an error that it doesn't have permission to open the temp folder. I then also tried to install a second printer via USB but constantly receive the message not recognized USB device! and the printer cannot be found or installed. The PDF Creator should create a printer under printers but it hasent. I was convinced after having scoured the forums that the two issues were related and had to do with - user account control settings - unfortunately after countless did stop it no chance neither will work.

    I tried the following

    • restarted the countless number of times disconnecting the pc
    • Turned UAC works with restarts in the meantime and attempt to install creator .pdf and the second usb printer install with this setting turned on and off with no luck.
    • checked the registry entry for the UAC sure he was totally disabled
    • verified that the second USB Samsung printer is 100% compatible with windows 7
    • downloaded the latest installation of creator .pdf files
    • cancelled all windows 7 updates with a system restore
    • uninstall all USB drivers who then reinstalled on reboot.
    • Tried to manually add the Samsung printer using Add Printer

I am now at a loss and am convinced that the two problems are related. Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

    Molon

    Hi molon,.

    ·        What is the model number of the printer?

    ·        Did you follow the guidelines in accordance with the installation guide supplied with the printer?

    To refine the question

Try to use the USB port to which the first HP printer was connected to the Samsung printer.

To check if it's a bad USB cable unplug the USB cable from the printer HP to work and plug this USB cable into one of the other printers to determine if it will recognize and install.
