For my setup, I had to use this router in wireless Repeater mode and continue to share USB storage. To my surprise, I found that the USB storage function wasn't available anylonger as well as most of the other functions. The problem is that I can not, and surely there is no rational explanation for why the function of USB storage isn't here as

1 opportunity Samba server has no requirements for a device to be a MAIN router hosting

    2. the router assigned IP address (DHCP server or statically) seeps

    3. the router was also named network assigned

So my question here is really not WHY, but rather WHEN it will be addressed by Linksys Engineering? Must still hope us to achieve this functionality is enabled in future versions of the firmware.

You need to remove the menu setup USB device, as if it was never installed. Physically

Remove the USB device - run USBDeview and remove it - Reboot - then set up the
Users do not allow a USB - reboot and you connect as a user - NO ADMIN - try to insert
    the device.

  • WNR2200 Netgear ReadyShare USB storage does not

I have trouble getting the USB ReadyShare working on my router Netgear WNR2200 storage. If I reset the router to factory by using a paper clip and now the reset button in and then just connect a computer to Ethernet, 1 Port, it works fine and I can access by typing just "\\readyshare" in windows Explorer. Unfortunately I can not leave the router with its factory settings as it is not good for my network, I disable DHCP, because it's the 3rd router on my network. The router itself works great when I do that, all the computers connected to have a connection to the internet and can also connect to each other etc... purpose storage readyshare file sharing no longer works. It's just as if she is not there.

While I was trying to experiment when he actually stopped working, so I reset the router to factory settings and started again. Connected to the computer first to 1 Port Ethernet and it worked fine as before. Went in the router settings and turned off DHCP and it has always worked well. It is only when I actually connect the router to other routers which ReadyShare USB storage stops working. When it is assigned an IP address from my main router which is the DHCP I guess? I don't know why that's upsetting it well? I checked on the same workgroup (a setting that I didn't notice initially) but also makes no difference.

Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong? I guess it is just configured wrong and it's probably something really simple, but I can't see it. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Change the LAN IP is affecting an IP address on the WNR2200 to be in the same range of main router.

You will be able to change this in the LAN Setup.

    The steps would be:

    1. do you have a computer just be directly to the WNR2200 and nothing else.

    2. navigate to the router admin page.

    3. change the LAN IP to a unique IP address, such as 10.0.0.200 or one IP address that is not used in the network.

    4 disable DHCP.

    5. once the settings are saved, connect the main router to one of the WNR2200 LAN ports.

From there, you should be able to access the USB key.

    Let me know what happens.

  • When a pop-up message indicates that a storage device has just been attached and I don't put a USB storage device into the computer at all, what that means?

From time to time, (isn't that every now and then, not every day or every week) a message appears on the computer screen to notify that "a storage device has been attached... and something or other on a port '-as it would if a new hardware device had just been installed or removed... only, I have not attached at a storage device.

In fact, apart from the scanner, printer and keyboard connected, which are already inserted until the computer is turned on, no USB storage device or any other thing seized or inserted into the computer when this message is displayed on the lower right screen where the icons on the desktop are,

Why would this happen unless I had personally inserted/joint a USB stick storage device myself in my computer?

I'm afraid that maybe someone to access details and store information from a remote location via a storage device? Is this possible?

And if it's an error of some sort, how to fix this problem?

    Please notify. Thank you.

This probably means you have a bad USB connection somewhere.  I got this a lot when I used markets good USB hubs.  It also happened a lot on a couple of the USB plugs on my old laptop 4 year, where I had plugged in and out things in them so that the connectors are not as strong as they were when new.  My main office more connected devices above that outputs 4 USB, that I had on the back, so I finally bought a card extension to add 4 more exits USB.  If this is your case, perhaps you could do the same.  Expansion cards are not very expensive, usually in the range of $ 15 to $ 25, and they are fairly simple to install.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

Yes, I have the right to see and write about the USB storage.

    Anyone a suggestion?

Use username: admin and password: the router password (default admin). Do not use your Linksys WiFi Smart password.

Are you able to access the drive locally using the user Remi? The fact that you have checked the part of Transcend when you created the user Remi?

Try the suggestion of Chadster by creating a new user, and then clear the browser. Or you can try using a different computer.

The local user account is configured to restrict access to the Z:\ only through NoDrives policy.  See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc938267.aspx for more details.

To make life easier, there are calculators that you can use to determine what should be this entry of 32 bits, based on drive letters you want hidden.  An example is http://www.wisdombay.com/hidedrive/index.php.  The default value for Z:\ is only 0x01ffffff (33554431).

The recovery image can be created on a CD/DVD disc or USB memory stick. As far as I know you cannot use a common USB HDD for recovery.
