USB transfer

I'm under ESXi 5.0 on a HP BL460c G1.

Guest operating system is Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP1.

vSphere Client runs on Server 2003 Standard SP2.

I'm trying to virtualize a former server that is essential to the daily operations because the material on what there currently is 6 years old and management does not want to spend the money to have it replaced.

One of the requirements of the software is a security device that is currently parallel, but we can get a USB version.

Now the problem is I can not all USB devices to connect to the virtual machine that I created.

  • I tried to do a USB transfer under the host's configuration > advanced settings. but he said to me 'Host does not support configuring passthrough ".

  • I tried to connect a vSphere Client computer USB device; He tells me that the device is about to be disconnected from the host and connected to the virtual machine. Then after clicking 'ok' I get the message "the remote device on < virtual machine > to < device > is disconnected."

It actually shows the name of the virtual machine instead of < virtual machine > and < device > is 'v2.0.33.

Is there a way to fix this disconnect usb?

> Configuring the host > advanced settings

It's active VMdirectpath.  You don't need that for the USB transfer.

It could be more ideal to connect the USB device directly to the host.  In this case

(1) edit the VM and add a USB controller.  You will do this on the Hardware tab.

(2) add a USB device to the virtual computer.  You'll also do this on the material tab for the virtual machine.

  • Satellite A60 - very slow USB transfer speed

    Hello

I have a Satellite A60 with XP Home and the USB transfer speed is very very low. Is 2.0, but it is not working properly, because it takes about 30 minutes to copy the data from 1 GB on a USB 2.0 drive externally.

I tried my USB drives on another computer and work quickly and well, so it is probably just a problem of drivers, but can't find them on the web from Toshiba to reinstall them. I heard that it is a common problem after installation of XP Service Pack 2, but I didn't do anything, I use the operating system as it came when I bought the laptop (with XP Home SP2 preinstalled original), I do not change any configuration or install drivers that can affect to the USB controllers and it has always been so slow.

Could someone help? I tried to reinstall the drivers from Toshiba, but I think that there are not more special just for the USB, what should I update then? I need to improve the transfer speed of USB data for professional purposes, because I can't lose so given at the time of the transfer, please please please help!

PS: Sorry for my terrible English, but it is there no Toshiba forums on my tongue: P

    Hello

USB drivers are part of the operating system and you are unable to download the USB drivers separately.
In my view, it is really not necessary to reinstall the USB drivers because the USB HDD is recognized correctly and it works.

USB 2.0 transfer speed 480 Mbps supports and if any didn't error message then the USB ports running at full speed.

    For more details, please see this page of Microsoft;

Last but not least I would recommend to update the XP to the last State. I mean that you need to install all of the available patches and fixes.

  • Why so slow USB transfer in Windows 7?

OK, I have seen a lot of questions about it, anywhere on the web and no good response from someone at Microsoft or at least an acceptance that somewhere along the line, someone out there screwed up where perma-slow USB transfer for Windows 7 users.

Yes, my drivers are up to date. My USB transfers are spend only 6 MB/s MAX I tried all ports. FireWire transfer is fine. eSata too.

Tapping my toe, waiting for a response...

Clean your PC boot, then test transfer USB (voltage ICH? I don't think)

  • HP Pavilion P2-1140 does not have a way to connect to a Firewire port and USB transfer is not supported by Windows 7 to connect the Sony HC20 Handycam.

    Original title: Sony Hanycam HC20

I just bought a HP Pavilion P2 - 1140 W7 64 bit and may not know how to download video from my Sony Handycam HC-20 who

using a Firewire connection. P2-1140 does not have a way to connect to a Firewire port and USB transfer is not supported by Windows 7.

I looked in the spec of my card mother HP and there is no additional slots to add adapters, no PCI, PCI-e or anything that looks like

as if you can add anything. I know that the Firewire to USB converters cable do NOT work, any suggestions please

There are USB firewire converters, but I think it will be a situation of hit or miss--they are unable to work or perform very well.

The only option I can think of that would work would be to use AV out on the camera and a USB capture card that records on the computer.
You can also consider going back to the computer and get a different model that is built in firewire support or at least an extension connector in order to get an expansion card.

  • ESXi 4.1 USB transfer

Read the help files, it seems that the USB for vSphere 4.1 requires Virtual Center... I wish I knew that before the operation because I was really looking forward to using this feature.

Well, I can't be the only person who did not know

Are you sure that USB transfer requires vCenter?  That does not appear in this KB... http://KB.VMware.com/kb/1022290

  • 3 USB with USB transfer speed

I have a HP Pavilion dv8-1110ea laptop with Express Card 54 slot (also supports ExpressCard/34). I bought logic FL1000 USB 3.0 Express Card controller. I installed the driver without problem and the USB works fine, but at the speed of transfer USB 2. I use it with a WD Elements external hard drive. Thank you for any assistance.

Thanks, but what I really want to know is if there is nothing in my computer model that does not allow the use of the card Express as a walk of 3 USB as it would on a compatible computer.  Also, the readings show a write speed much slower than the speed reading.  This could be a problem with the post.  Thank you

It is unlikely that there is something in the hardware of your laptop that is the problem of writing speed.

You will get different results with different devices depending on the size and the type of file that is transferred as test or real.

It is as @banhien says, if you want really high speed usb 3.0, then you will need to go to a notabook of latest generation with native usb 3.0 ports. Read up on it. There is a lot of information on usb 3.0 of the firmware and hardware available online for your reading pleasure.

    initial question:
I used my usb key to move some files with Easy Transfer. Now, whenever I open the mem stick in doubleclicking Explorer, he tries to run Easy Transfer. I deleted the shortcut to the file transfer, Windows Easy Transfer file and the autorun from the memory stick file.
I can't find anything relevant on the other to stop this.

    Hi Coloradosioux,

Question: "Please insert the disc in the drive" message when you access a USB flash drive.

Here are some possible solutions for your question. I would like to know how it works:

    Method 1:

    1. Insert the removable disk in the removable drive before you start your computer.

(Make sure that you have not the bios Setup to boot from the USB drive)

    Method2:

1 log in as administrator or with an account that has administrator privileges

    2. Insert your removable disk into the USB port.

    3. Click Start, right click on computer and select Manage

    4. click on disk management

You send messages in a Windows XP Forum... you use XP?

If you go to... Start button / workstation... is the recognized USB
with a drive letter? Without doubt, he is listed as a removable disk.

If_yes_right click on the drive letter and from the menu choose open or explore.

This should display the directory of the drive and allows you to copy the
files from there to a folder on your hard drive.

  • USB transfer does not not for iPads on VM Mac after the last update?

    Hello:

I have a VM 10.10 that I use to manage some iPads to the Department via the configurator to Apple.  After 8.1 update, I can't have iPads to connect regularly.  When I get to get an iPad connected and try the update, it will not reconnect.  I tried changing the settings of relay USB connect only to the virtual machine, but nothing helped.  This happens also in iTunes.

  • HP Elitebook 8570p - Windows XP USB very slow and the transfer rate performance issues.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else knows some performance issues with the HP Elitebook 8570p and Windows XP Pro - SP3.

I get a VERY slow start, general poor performance (waiting time when opening files and programs).

I asked to burn in tests that show that everything is good.

USB transfer rates are VERY slow (tried all ports of a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive, which works fine on other laptops etc.) for example a 30-minute transfer a 7gig single file of the USB HD on the desktop. Only 3 minutes to do the same on another laptop.

I think there are problems with the drivers, like Windows 7 works very well and does boot from a bootable USB.

USB transfer rate are also good when starting from a Windows boot environment.

I installed HP SoftPaq Download Manager, and all the drivers are up to date.

    Hello:

I think outside of the box here... Select the Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller instead.

If it does not, I raise the white flag.

  • Satellite A100 - 192 Windows Vista USB low speed

    Hello

I installed vista on A100-192, I configured everything correctly, all the drivers installed, but the USB transfer speed is totally low and when hollow transfring usb I have sound and video form. / CPU usage is 100 percent when data transfer from my camera or compact flash. Same thing with the PCMCIA card.
On windows xp, it worked great!
I guess it's something about drivers, because when I connect my hard drive usb hollow it works very well/windows sees it as a hard drive, but when I connect something else, and windows sees it as a removable drive - about low speed starts :/

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

    Best regards

  • Lenovo Miix 2 8 "File Transfer FRO another PC. Is this possible?

So I had the Lenovo Mixx 2 8 "Windows 8.1 compressed the other day and I find there is no option USB transfer thereon. It's not eaxactly a bad thing, because the Tablet is pretty much a PC and how it works pretty well so far.

My Question is: is it possible to transfer files via USB for Windows for Windows? I bought these OTG cables, will help them? If so, how does it work?

    Thank you!

N ° unlike knowledge the Android device, Windows Tablet cannot behave as a mass storage device when connected to USB. For the same reason you can't connect two PC via a USB cable directly. It is by design.

OTG cable allows you to connect the USB client device like flash or HARD disk drive to your Tablet and the transfer of the files it. With a decent WiFi access point file of up to 10 MB/s transfer speeds are possible. This is how I generally transfer files between the PC (cable) and Miix2 (wireless).
