Use of the filesystem in Windows Vista Business

I had a neX61 in November last with Windows Vista Business and 120 GB disk space. I installed MS Office Standard 2007 and Visio, the disk of 2 months following its use grew much greated than the volume of data that I have placed on the system. I ran all the checks planned and all is good - no problems.

However I could not always represent 35 + concerts. I downloaded a tool on the web that says basically structure sizes and directory trees and showed that I should have 35 gigs of spare, i.e. If I added the directory sizes, there was a huge amount still free. I couldn't get to the bottom of this.

One day, Outlook 2007 crashed and rebuilds itself, when it rebuilt, suddenly space reappeared. Afterwards, I ran all the diagnosis of MS Outlook with no significant results. During the next 6 weeks, which space recovery file again gone so now its 50Gigs I losyt. I decided to uninstall Outlook, but so far it has not recovered from my disk space. Before that I use a hard reinstall of Vista Business Windoze of stuff over there?

See you soon

Andy,

Right now, you have identified the exact problem, hell, I didn't even know this has the value automativcally of backup, the first 25Gigs swallowed the backup, then the next 4 subsequent in swallowed another 5 concerts a moment. Unfortunately, I had several images vmware which did not help matters.

Thanks man, I owe you a virtual beer.

  • Windows Live Messenger 2009 stops on Windows Vista Business

    Hello

For some time I have been using a desktop computer with Windows Vista Business (32 Bit) and for a few months now Windows Live Messenger 8 kept stop without reason.  I rejected, given that it happened only once a day, I have so open again and kept using it.

Recently I installed the version 2009 (14.0.8064.206), when Microsoft announced it through Messenger itself.  Since I don't Live Messenger stops very often, sometimes it takes about half an hour after I connect, sometimes even when I'm not logged in.  The message is "Windows Live Messenger has stopped working", no code error, no file name.

I have spent at various sites and tried the following without result:

Removal of the installation, run the clean installation tool and reinstalling
Repair the installation of Live Messenger
    clear the Cache of Contacts
    Run as administrator
Compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2

Is there anything else I can try?  Please let me know.

    Hello

The easiest way is with a crossover cable - a special wire to connect the two systems.
You can get one at your local computer store - they are not expensive.

Also check with the site of the manufacturer of your router, because they will have in-depth details on how to
    set up the network.

    Hello

I don't know what you mean in crashes, but I know that this can happen after the standby/hibernation mode, that this sound card is not recognized correctly. To resolve this problem, you must install the hotfix for Microsoft Vista (937077 KB) on the Microsoft network site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937077

Just a question: have you noticed this problem since the first day or after a few days of use?

  • The product key you entered will not work with this edition of Windows Vista. You must run the Windows Vista Setup program or enter a Windows Vista business product key

Product key bad for the wrong version?

    Hello

Recently the computer in business inherited from a friend, very fast and very good. Regardless of the operating system no - geniue, is with Vista Business, while the thumbnail of authentication is Vista Ultimate. I took a screenshot of what it says when I put Vista Ultimate product key: (it does not appear if you are unable to use it: P)

    http://S13.PostImage.org/57nfn5pqv/vistareg.jpg

He said: "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of Windows Vista. You must run the Windows Vista Setup program or enter a Windows Vista Business product key."

How would the installation of Windows Vista? My files would still be there when you need him? My drivers would still exist? No matter what to get deleted or become unusable? He would return to SP1? Any response is welcome.

You can order form of the manufacturer's recovery media.

The reason why the system as non-authentique shows currently is using a license in Volume KMS - these licenses must be re-activated at least every 6 months by connecting to the KMS user license activation server.

It will require a reformat and reinstall whatever you do, unless you can connect to the KMS - Volume media server cannot be upgraded under normal conditions.

I just want to her top in order to exploit one of my docking stations or both at the same time...

Gateway model C-5815 notebook convertible; touchscreen navigation or Penabled; Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo processor; U 7500 1.06 GHZ GHZ 1.07; 4 GB RAM 32-bit operating system. Windows Vista Business... AND ONLY 2 USB PORTS from where I work, 2 external hard drives, 2 printers; 2 scanners; 1 external TV/monitor, 1 keyboard, 1 ball control, external speakers and sinc various gps units, Ipods, cell phones, etc etc etc...  I did all this by the docking station to a generic port Targus 3 unit and an extension of USB Belkin 7port...

UPDATE  Mahalo for anyone who has tried to help me with this question... I read everything that was recommended, but nothing has addressed this issue directly. In the end, I just bit the bullett and both plugged to my laptop... She has chewed on everything what adding new material for some time, but then she moved and purred... I even tried plugging and unplugging does material of a docking, and still she purred...  Mahalo to look at the problem (not) with me... Hello, I installed Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32-bit on a Dell Precision T3400 workstation, and I have also configured the strategies of groups for Non administrators. Basically, I disabled the removable drives, 'C' and had "only for non administrators." After edit in GP, the system has been precisely set and I am able to access the Administrators account and copy stuffs from my local drive on my USB key. But a few days later, I'm not able to use my USB or other external drives in Administrator account, it shows that 'inaccessible '. But I can't access local drives 'C' or '. Then I have to redo the group policies and it will last only for 3 days. Thanks :)

    Hello

Formatting/reinstalling is overkill. A bit like buying a new car because you have a flat tire.

To reinstall, you can use either the volume of recovery or the recovery disc, both should work pretty much the same. In general, the product key is located on the system like a sticker (on laptops usually on the bottom). If you can't find yours, you should contact the provider or your network administrator (and in fact, if there is a working system, you should contact them before doing anything).

Before you do this right, you can try this: click Start and type CMD. Right click on the menu entry that appears and choose "Run as Administrator". Click on continue in the UAC prompt. From the command line, run:

    ipconfig/release

    ipconfig/flushdns

    ipconfig / renew

Allow everyone to finish (return to the command line) before proceeding to the next. When you are finished, close the command prompt. See if that helps with your problems of connection.
