use the ip address in listener.ora does not

Hello

A strange problem in listener.ora, if I use 'localhost', or the name of the computer, then everything is ok, but when I try to use the ip address, then I got an error ORA-12541: listener TNS:no

the listener.ora file that works well

the only change is to use the IP address of the server 10.183.7.89 instead of localhost and if I change the ip address of the computer name, then its also works well.

The server runs on vistual box, I don't know if the machine vistual causes this problem,
I just want to confirm: I use the IP directly right?

Thank you inadvance!

Reacted little after you have validated, but authentication Jives agie and my answer has been lost. Not the first time that I lost OTN due issues Jives or descending OTN responses. Well...

My response was as follows.

Your listener begins listening using the host name of the server. This binds the 1521 port to all the IP addresses on the server. A new IP address must be created, which will be also automatically supported and connections port 1521 he will be accepted by the listener.

The AMT ORCL aliases connect to port 1521 on localhost (127.0.0.1 IP address). As the listener listen to all this server IP addresses, the client connection is successful.

The listener is then replaced listening on a specific IP address. Now the listener only listening on port 1521 on this IP - and no other IP address of this server.

The alias of tns ORCL now tries to connect using 127.0.0.1 - and this IP address is now supported by the listener. As a result, the connection of the client fails.

If the tns ORL connection uses the same IP address as the listener, the connection will succeed. The ORCL alias can either use IP address directly, or a host name that will solve in that intellectual property.

The basic rules are:
-If the server name is used, the listener use INADDR_ANY indicator socket and tie the port to all the this server IP addresses
-If the IP 0.0.0.0 is used, the listener also links the Harbour to all the this server IP addresses
-If "localhost" or a specific IP address is used, the listener will tie the port to only this specific address and no other server IP addresses

The client to connect, use one of the IP addresses that the listener is listening. The customer can use:
-the host name so that the intellectual property (the host name must resolve to the IP address via the file DNS or hosts )
-l the address real IP itself

Use the following command in Windows to see what IP addresses and ports, the listening process is listening:
Netstat-b - n tcp Pei

  • vSphere client using the name Netbios on ESXi host does not connect using the credentials of a Windows session

I have 3 ESXi 5.5 hosts, all connected to a single server vCenter, where we try to authenticate directly to the host by using the windows logon credentials. I have installation of the Administrators group of ESX and filled with the admin accounts that I want to be able to authenticate to the host. The Netbios name of the domain is tstdomain (for example) where the domain name is tstdomain.com. If I connect directly to a host and check the checkbox 'Use Windows Session Credentials', the vSphere client will default by using the Netbios name of tstdomain\adminusername and the connection will fail indicating that the username and/or password is incorrect. If I enter the domain name of tstdomain.com\adminusername, I am able to connect to the host without error.

Does anyone know how get past that this matter have the vSphere client uses the domain name or to use the Netbios name and connect with the credentials to active directory? I looked by editing the file/etc/hosts and checked that the SPN of the host is correct in active directory with the command hostname setspn - l, with no luck on one. I also tried to change the field of research for the Netbios name of tstdomain rather than the tstdomain.com domain name, also did not work.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions on how to correct the problem.

Seems that this issue was due to a slow network and the connection timeout when you try to talk to the domain controller. I am able to connect with windows creds now, but the connection is very slow. I increased the default period of 30 to 60 seconds to help work around the problem.

This happened for months, and the only work around is to copy the files to the desktop, take them out there in my app/browser and then delete. • vSphere 5.5 using the uplink of LBT group that does not have a good way

We use LBT since our recent deployment, which is new for us.  Everything seemed fine and dandy, until recently the VMs began dropping their connectivity to what looked like at random times.  The first fix out the door had to disconnect and reconnect the vNIC for each virtual computer.  Sometimes, it took a few tries before it worked.  We discovered that LBT moved VMS to the other group of uplink, which was a physical affair.  Unfortunately, someone didn't configure the port correctly on the remote switch, so while link came, he could not access the VLAN correct.  My question is, why the LBT would move virtual machines to an uplink group which did not have a good way?  He seeks only a physical link?  Looks like this problem waiting to happen.  Or, more likely, we have something misconfigured.  Any help would be wonderful, I don't like the idea to return to etherchannel or LACP with IP hash with blades chassis.  Thank you!

My question is, why the LBT would move virtual machines to an uplink group which did not have a good way?

Is that a "good path" can mean many different things in different circumstances of different points of view, if it's out of reach for LBT. It will be only on the physics of the status of the link. There is beacon probing too which can detect switch upstream outages but it can be used only with at least 3 vmnic uplinks and it has a few disadvantages, see:

    http://virtechgeek.com/2013/05/06/beacon-probing-vSphere-network-policy/

    http://thomaslowblog.blogspot.de/2011/10/vswitch-network-failover-detection.html

You can use the dvSwitch health check feature to make sure that all the natachasery of all the hosts connected to a dvSwitch can access the same VLAN. It will not prevent LBT to move virtual machines, but it will at least raise an alarm if a bear cannot access a VIRTUAL LAN. Take a look at this article:

    http://wahlnetwork.com/2012/08/27/new-5-1-distributed-switch-features-part-1-network-health-check/

Sorry for the long title.  I thought that I was actually asking.  Why can't I update my LR LR CC 5.4?  I have an iMac 27-inch running the Mavericks.  I have a lot of space on my hard drive and have 16 GB of RAM.

Long titles seem to happen a lot since the last forum updated software isn't just you!

There is no CC Lightroom. You get the latest version (currently 5.4) with creative cloud, and the CC app so right to say that your LR is up-to-date. Unlike most other Cloud creative applications and Photoshop, Lightroom is not labelled as 'CC' because it is also available separately as a product standalone perpetual license. When 5.5 (or 6.0 - or even a CC version only) is available in the future, the CC app should invite you to update, and then in the meantime, you good to go.

    Hi, Catherine.

You'd better post in the Windows Live Solution Center-Hotmail like that is dedicated to Windows Live Hotmail.

If you have not implemented alternative methods to check your Hotmail credentials, I suggest do it after your account is returned.  For more information, see Security Hotmail to protect and recover your account .

  • That means "another device on the network use the IP address of your computer"?, that means "another device on the network is using the IP address of your computer?

Most likely, the computer becomes a network address of a router. The assignment of an address ("lease") expires and must be renewed after a certain period of time, which could be an hour or a day. The lease expired without being renewed because the device has been disconnected at the time. Meanwhile, the address has been leased to another device on the network, or maybe the router has not updated its list of addresses the leases. When the device offline comes back online, a conflict results. Depending on the type of router you have, the conflict can resolve itself automatically. If not, then in the menu bar, select please

    ▹ System Preferences network ▹ 

If the preferences window is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Click the Advanced button, and then select the TCP/IP tab in the sheet that drops down. Look at the menu option

    Configure IPv4

If the selection in this menu is

    Using DHCP

    Click on the button

    Renew the DHCP lease

    Test.

Make sure that you have more than one DHCP server on the network. That could happen if you have more than one access point Wi - Fi, or if you have a router and broadband a wide device distinct in connection mode sharing.

Less likely, you have a network address that you assigned yourself and another device is itself by assigning the same address. In this case, the selection to configure IPv4 menu will be either manually or using DHCP with manual address. This kind of conflict will not be resolved automatically. You have the following options to solve:

    1. Change the selection in menu using DHCP.
    2. Change the address assigned manually to one that is not used by another device.
    3. Change the address of the other device.

Which of these options you choose depends on the details of why you use a static IP address. Any changes you make to the network settings is necessary before taking effect. To do this, click OK, and then click apply.

If the router is also your device at wide band, then he may be operating in bridged mode. In this case, only one customer at a time will be able to connect to the Internet. Consult the manufacturer or ISP documentation for how to reconfigure the device in the connection mode sharing.

According to a report a "DirectTV" receiver can cause the problem. If necessary, disconnect the device from the network, or power off and test. Consult the support services provider.
