Used ReadyNAS 314 - Mainboard RMA

Hello

I just bought a 314 ReadyNAS opportunity that seems to have two ethernet ports defective, everything works fine. Apparently these ports stopped working after update from 6.2.0 to 6.2.4, but more to upgrade to 6.4.1 does not solve the problem. As much as I know there is no right for the owner of a ReadyNAS used to 5 years warranty the material which, in theory, would still be applicable to customer first. Is it possible to get an RMA number or buying a new mother for this unit directly from Netgear card?

About the State of the material in my unit: it starts all the beautiful but has no IP via DHCP address assignment, to check if it could be a driver / software on the issue: I started a Windows 10 train directly inserted SSD. It starts very well, except for the two ethernet ports that are not found even in windows. Although I find that a little odd that only two ethernet jacks should be dead while USB3, esata and so now all work fine, my only possible explanation is a faulty motherboard.

Other suggestions are very appreciated. As a last resort I could still run the material with OMV and a USB-Ethernet adapter, but I strongly keep me the original OS, recognizing the two network cards.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Simon_01,

Welcome to the community!

Excuse me, but the guarantee will be granted only to the registered owner of the unit who has purchased the product from an authorized reseller. Pre-new/2nd hand units have no guarantee because they are considered to be renovated units.

NETGEAR sells all the internal components of the chassis ReadyNAS not only the warranty of the product, but also he is not taken in charge of NETGEAR. If you want to open the NAS and the replacement of its components, it may be a chance to members of the community you answer here, but it may take some time.

Kind regards

  • ReadyNas 314, impossible to access via Windows Explorer

Have spend the last 3 hours trying to find a solution on other posts, but nothing helps.

Novice at most, so when you can, please explain as I am 5.

I have a new 4-Bay ReadyNAS and installed 4 new 4 TB drives. Currently connected to the router by ethernet.

I use a Plex server on my PC. I store all my media on an external drive. I moved all my multimedia elements from the outside to the NAS.

However, the last step is to map the NAS server to the letter of the drive that was older externally. For the life of me, I can't do it. I connected the NAS to your PC via ethernet, but when I try and click on the NAS, it says that it cannot access. I tried to do a variety of solutions, but none have worked so far. Quite possible I'm not on the right, and it's a simple solution.

Please let me know what you all need additional details. I am really puzzled.

Finally found the solution. I had to go to my Windows credentials manager and add my NAS server out there. Thank you!

  • ReadyNAS 314 ReadyNAS Replicate records do not

    Hello

I'm trying to record from the ReadyNAS admin console the Cloud ReadyNAS Replicate function. Registration does not work.

I turn on the ReadyNAS Replicate function and introduced a popup to enter my username and password. I enter the username and password which gives me access to the ReadyNAS Replicate web site, but I am present an error indicating "username or password is invalid.

The ReadyNAS was recorded before the upgrade to version 6.5 and 6.5.1. Before the update, I was able to see and access the ReadyNAS device from the ReadyNAS Replicate Web site.

    Peripheral ReadyNAS is version: 6.5.1

My assumption is that the problem is not with the credentials, as the credentials work to connect to the ReadyNAS Replicate site.

    Any ideas on the problem?

I have an another ReadyNAS just factory reset with a new drive and it is also not able to register for ReadyNAS Replicate. ReadyNAS RN102, Version 6.5.1

The problem was solved by deleting my existng account and create a new ReadyNAS Remote account.

Something must have gotten messed up with the existing account in the back-end system.

Thank you for the help on the private channel.

  • Need help to save a used readynas 104

As the title suggests I recently bought this Nas in a COMPUTER store in my area that has been close, but when I try to register was already registered by the former owner.

Am I totally fucked up here without another option or is there a way to do this? I hate call centers and their useless reading of a script routine and no e-mail account is for support.

Unfortunately, you cannot save a ReadyNAS to opportunity. There is no guarantee, and Netgear provide any support paid either.

  • Migrate ReadyNAS to ReadyNAS 516 314

    Hello

I'm looking to migrate my 4 discs of my ReadyNAS 314 with the purchase of a new 516 ReadyNAS.

Can someone give me instructions step by step on what I have to do to pass?

Will my app structure remain intact, Plex Media Server, SickRage etc., or do I have to re - install these applications?

It is as easy as to 4 existing disks one by one the 516 ReadyNAS and everything will be exactly as it was? It would be great!

    All advice is appreciated.

    Thank you!

Hello. Yes, it's as simple as that. All data, but also settings are stored on the hard drives.
    Then...
    (1) judgment of the RN314
    (2) leave the RN516 closure
    (3) move the hard disks in the RN314 in RN516
    (4) to start the RN516
    That's all.

In some situations, it is good to ensure that the firmware stored on the NAS new flash is updated by a factory disk work default and update the firmware before you proceed with the migration.
    If you want to:
    (1) let alone the RN314
    (2) insert a temporary HARD disk in the RN516 (it will wipe)
    (3) use the start menu to perform a factory on the RN516
    (4) once the RN516 is running, access the GUI and update the firmware
    (5) once the firmware is updated, the RN516 stop
    (6) stop the RN314
    (7) remove the temporary HARD disk to RN516
    (8) move the hard disks in the RN314 in the RN516
    (9) to start the RN516

  • Show users who logged ReadyNas 204 OS6

    Hello

I use ReadyNas 204. I have several users who use the FTP Service with their own account.

Is it possible that I can see who connected and what the user up or down-loading?

    Thank you

    Hi MrtAlways,

    Welcome to the community!

You can see who is connected to your ReadyNAS through FTP (local / remote) by checking the device logs > system or systemd-journal newspapers. Unfortunately, we will not be able to see in the newspapers, what files were consulted, downloaded and uploaded.

    I hope this helps!

  • Use of 'root' for the system volume is 100% and/dev/md0 is full

    Hello

I recently started to receive notifications that the use of 'root' volume of my system is 100%

I went through all the files and it seems that the culprit is/dev/md0

I don't have any add-ons installed, and this NAS solution is specifically used as a backup to another NAS. It uses ReadyNAS Replicate for backups.

Here is the output of df - h and df - i

    I tried commands like this:

    du - csh/var
    du - csh/var / *.

And the problem doesn't seem to be in these directories. Very low use it.

This error started appearing on the day that I got a copy no error of ReadyNAS Replicate that gave me an Exit Code: 11 (error e/s files)

Can someone help me solve this problem?

The reason why you could not find, was that at some point, your encrypted volume was not mounted (perhaps the USB is not was connected when you start the NAS server) and a repeated backup job is filled with the partition of the OS on the NAS.

When you have looked at the system, the data volume has been mounted. There was data under/data on the partition of the OS, but could not say that.

I passed on a summary of what has happened to our engineers and am waiting for their suggestion. However as it is a long weekend in the United States I don't expect an answer at least a few days.

  • Record of 312 ReadyNas Backup Job does not connect

    Hi all

We have a readyNAS we are trying to save on Dropbox.com. However, when I try to save more then a part of the second I try to backup will not backup. I have to disconnect and reconnect the ReadyNAS on dropbox and then I can start the second part of backup, but then the first part will no longer connect and save. Is there a limit as to who can I save both number of shares? Is there something missing that I have to do to save multiple shares on dropbox? I really need to understand that because we use it as a backup and if it doesn't we have to find something different.

    Thank you

    Dan

The Dropbox feature is for a single action of backup to Dropbox.

You can consider other options such as obtaining a second backup using ReadyNAS Replicate ReadyNAS.

  • Rename RN314 (RAIDiator 4.2.28.)

    Hello

I replaced my old ReadyNAS Pro for a ReadyNAS 314 and moved the disks for my new RN314. In the ReadyNAS admin page, I see that the host name is READYNAS, what I want. In my router I changed the name of READYNAS also. So, can I still use \\READYNAS to access my files as I always did. However, in my network the RN314 is still visible under the enigmatic NAS-E6-10-B @, I certainly won't.

Does anyone has an idea how I can change this?

Ah, I see the problem, I think that I can not just move the disks to an old NAS with a different OS on a new. I will do a factory reset and restore a backup in the new NAS. This could probably solve this problem... I hope.

  • Suspicious and sudden change of address IP by RN314 (aka The Russian are coming)

    Hey everybody,

I used my ReadyNAS 314 for several weeks with little or no problems. However, today my NAS spontaneously changed its IP address to 5.19.18.xxx from my usual internal IP 192.168.1.x. I see this change on Windows Explorer (Win 7). You can also see my old static connection for music in the internal address. Am I being hacked? How can I resolve the IP address to my internal address?

I understand having an address dynamic IP from my cable provider may cause a change, but it does not change a model of internal address that is followed in the Federation of Russia! I use ReadyCLOUD to access my data, but I did not any unusual changes in the last few days such as switching to a VPN. Some people suggested in other posts that ReadyCLOUD uses Russian IP addresses. Is this true? https://community.NETGEAR.com/T5/legacy-NETGEAR-and-partners-add/suspicious-IP-addresses-open-by-rea...

I do not use ReadyCLOUD remotely, however.

Last week, I have updated the firmware to the latest version OS 6.4.1. A few days ago, I deleted files that the ReadyNAS said have been infected with the virus. But, these files were 10 years or more and were not reported by Windows Defender, BitDefender or Kaspersky which I ran over the years. I delete them immediately. Yesterday, I noticed a very big performance drop in ReadyCLOUD, but he is back to his normal performance today. To add to the mystery, I typed this in the last 10 minutes, the Russian INVESTIGATION period has disappeared from Windows Explorer all on its own. I can always connect to the same local admin via my browser page, and the eth0 link always displays the same internal IP address.

Clues about what is happening here?

    Hi cleveland_rocks,

This IP address is generated through ReadyCLOUD and ReadyNAS remote. I suggest that you continue to access your ReadyNAS files using its local IP address. I just wanted to know if you see the same address in other local computers?

    Forward to your response.

    Kind regards

Howdy, I'm running a readynas 314 with the latest OS 6.5.1 and I wondered how the apps that I've installed are started and stopped through the command line (shell). They are all systemctl 'under the hood '? How are apps launched automatically at startup?

It is beneficial for the RN314. At this stage, we would expect to be available on the server of update week.
