• Test application built using JRE 5.0 on OS 4.6

  I built an application using JRE 5.0 and it is fully functional on OS 5.0, but when I tried to test 9000 with OS 4.6 Simulator he could not open (exception at run time).   First of all, you have to decide is whether or not you need to use Internet Explorer 64-bit. In most cases, there is no reason to use it. The default IE in Win7 is 32 bit, even if you use the 64 bit OS. This is important because you must use a 32-bit JRE with a 32-bit browser and 64 with 64. So, in your case because you also have XP clients, you need to configure to use JRE 32 bit on all the client machines.

  In General, if you can get a form to run in a browser version it will run in any version. So, that means that once you have configured any version of IE (32 bit) and all other versions configured for any version of FF, should work. If they don't, it means that you have a problem with browser configuration (e.g. security settings blocking the JRE) or there is a problem of compatibility between the browser and the JRE.

  This configuration should work for all the browser with forms 11.1.2.1 certified

  There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

  One:

  Most JavaME/J2ME phone are Bluetooth, network connections, audio, etc.

  There are many classes that are specific to the BlackBerry that you simply cannot do with just J2ME/JavaME without recreating the code yourself or find libraries do.

  If you want to develop for multiple platforms, I would say you should find as J2ME classes, that you can use and if and only if you need a BlackBerry specific class, then you should use it.

  This should get you most portability.

• Using battery and timer blackBerry Smartphones

  Hello! I got my curve 8310 since late January and this weekend, the battery was drain much faster then usual even if I barely used the phone. It has been most of the time, but only receive texts and emails so more than usual and until that happened, I had very little battery power.

  I loaded 100% last night and it turned off... so not use during the night

  Has changed on this morning and showing only 60% of battery!

  Also the timer keeps coming back whenever I do anything, never submitted to occur.

  I called service provider and they suggested problem of battery, or set of hand or SIM card.

  I ordered the new farm and in the meantime, I wanted another comment / helped, because I prefer not to have to send combined for repair, unless it IS the problem since it would mean that I am without a phone for 7-10 days!

  A battery pull would help this situation?

  Thoughts or comments would be appreciated before decide me what to do if the new battery makes no difference!

  You probably have an application or a couple running in the background. Turn off the unit turns off applications... not a battery pull (when turned on) will be does.

  Your battery may also be simply bad calibrated with BlackBerry battery meter. See the information in this link for help on the calibration of the batttery.

  PROBLEM SOLVED!

  After spending 6 hours on the phone with the help of blackberry, I assumed the problem was with my calendar itself and not the blackberry (blackberry support person wanted to do more tests before he concluded that, but I didn't want to spend more time on tests).

  So, I deleted the articles 2400 + on my google calendar and have just been re - by adding a week ahead of time.  So far, it syncs great.  I don't know if it was a problem with the number of items in the calendar or if there was a particular event that caused the problem.

  I would use GroupLayout of Swing, but I can't import because only jre 1.5 is installed.
  Does anyone know of a workaround? Can I download and import parts of the jre 1.6, a specific package or a class, without installation?

  You can really use parts of Java 6 Java 5. This is a major update and taking bits and parts of it will 5-Earth of Java will not work without some major pain (and probably only by breaking the license agreement).

  What you can do however, is to use a local installation of JDK. The easiest way is to install the JDK on another computer and just grab all of the JDK directory and move it to the other machine. This JDK should work for most as a comfortable (except, of course, there is no neat shell integration and tastes).
