Using signal (+/-10 000 g) accelerometer

Hi all

I use an accelerometer for measurements of vibrations.

The accelerometer is connected to an external excitation device to provide the excitement of the accelerometer (coupler-Kistler). The coupler is then connected with the NI SMU-6361 module which is connected to the NI PXI3-1073 chassis. Based on the gain of 1 and the excitement of voltage of +/-10V, the accelerometer can provide + / 10 000 g. I use assistant DAQ for now to see the signal and then moved to DAQmx. I chose the option of tension instead of tension with excitement and I put the settings +/-10V for max and min values of signal, CSR for Terminal configuration. I also used the option of scaling of the table for the g-10 000 to-10 V and 10 000 g for 10 V. The accelerometer does not seem to work properly as long as the signal does not change. Is it possible for the advice me what goes wrong with the configuration of acceleration it please?

Thank you.

How to set up the chain of coupler/measure:

Your sensor has a sensitivty (let's say it's a constant for a given frequency range) S_ug [mV/g] and you add the coupler with a gain of G_c [V/V = 1]. so you get S_total [mV/g] = S_ug * G_c

The acquisition of your data can read + 5V-(lire les spécifications en détail, généralement qu'ils peuvent lire jusqu'à 5.5V) and the maximum expected acceleration is?

You can always overtemperature or increase the G_c to measure your signals in an optimum range.

You read a voltage u (t) and g (t) = u (t) / S_total.    You can do this conversion in your program, or tell MAX / DAQmx for that already in the driver.

You should read the manual of the hitch on the way to configure the gain or sensitivity.

If you measure the pulses, lockout for above 10 kHz signals... you can always use the sensor (up to maybe 40-60 kHz), but some more signal processing is involved in this case and make an FFT on the signal. (or a higher uncertaincy)

If you have the functions of transfer of the probe and the coupler, you can convert your signal in frequency domain, compensate for the functions of transfer and convert bach in time domain, to get a better estinate of your acceleration.

  • Is it normal to use more 9 000 000 k of memory (private beach) when working on 3-4 photos with about 10 to 12 layers when CC running?

I started using CC in December with absolutely no problem. In April, CC suddenly started crashing on me when I was running some actions that I used for years. My first thought was that my computer was going badly. This began a two-month process to eliminate possible computer problems. Patches have been as follows:

    Installed new SSD.

Installed the new disc storage of 2 t.

Install the new video card and power supply to run the new video card.

I am operating Windows 7 with 16G of RAM on a quad core, that should be more than enough to handle the demands of CC. It worked well for four months, then obviously he is capable of doing the job.

$400 CC later, always crashed when using certain actions.

A test, I tried running the same files with the same actions on the computer of my husband, who is a more recent year. CC, crashed on his as well when the acts have been run. After much head banging, tears and communication with Adobe, it was determined that it is not uncommon for older stock may not be compatible with versions of photoshop. So, I spent weeks reworking my entire workflow to redo/remove what I had learned to count on.

Fast forward to today. I fixed everything I know how to fix, but I still have to be VERY careful not to push too hard CC. I used to be able to work on 6 pictures at a time, with 10-15 layers on each photo. CC NEVER crashed on me. Now, I can barely work out 2 or 3 photos and it will crash if I do not pay attention on the execution of an action at a time (instead of batch processing) and that I should keep my layers to a minimum. During the time I was trying to understand the problems of my computer, I started to pay more attention to my use of the memory while CC has been opened. Before all the changes, I would use 5-6, 000, 000 k memory with only 2 or 3 pictures open. AFTER all the patches, I continue to use a crazy amount of memory.

Things to consider before you offer suggestions:

    * Yes, I have re-installed CC about 5 times after my computer updates, mostly because I couldn't get my actions to be completed. So I don't think that a reinstall will help.

    * I tried to remove most of my actions of CC, and it made no difference in the use of memory. In addition, when I did the test on my husband's computer, the only installed actions were rare I tried to test.

    * I have disabled the automatic backup and recovery function. Still no difference.

So, the bottom line, my question is if it is normal to use so much memory when you perform these simple tasks? Most of my layers are levels, curves, filling and a layer of sharpening and filter noise. It does not appear those who would be considered intensive task. Not only that, but also when I did the test on my husband's computer, I checked its memory usage, and it didn't even break 2 000 000 k at the same time I was with 5-6, 000, 000 k for the same task. And he has only 12G of RAM. If SOMETHING is wrong! Is there a setting I need to change so that CC is not intensive Yes memory? I could see if I was doing something 3D graphics, but these are the simple photo changes I've done for years with no problems.

Hope someone has some / suggestions on how I can get the use of the memory down so I can run CC as it is supposed to be - fast and efficient!

Thanks in advance for any help!

I also have a PC equipped with ATI (and that works fine), I compared your settings to mine and thought it was quite similar.

    I have noticed differences:

    • You have an AMD processor, while mine is Intel.  Is no problem in itself.
    • You have less RAM I'm, once again no problem 16 GB is fine for Photoshop.
    • Your use of Photoshop RAM limit is smaller than mine, it is something that you could experiment with changing.  On a 16 GB system I suggest move it up to at least 80% (and don't forget to close and reopen Photoshop after changing).
    • You have a monitor while I have three.  Yours is the most common configuration, no problem.
    • You use an ATI video card slightly different that I do, but you have the same version of the installed driver - catalyst 14.4, which is generally known to be good with Photoshop.
    • You have any records of work parameters, but you have more than enough free space (more than I do actually).
    • You have a slightly older versions of several common libraries Microsoft Visual Studio, that is because I have a newer version of Windows.  Once again, no problem.
    • You have Camera Raw 8.4.1 while I have 8.5.  It is because of very recent updates.  I doubt that is why you have a problem, but you can update.
    • You have a console installed plugin Imagenomic, as well as a plugin called portrait.  You can try to temporarily remove these plug-ins to see if the operation of Photoshop is stabilized.  In addition, you should check to see if they have released updates, which you can download.

Finally, after all is said and done, I see that you are in Photoshop 14.2.1...  You CAN try to download and install the just released Photoshop (2014) through the creative cloud application.

Since it is a whole new separate program from the one you already have installed, it would give you the opportunity to try Photoshop with the own default settings and not plug-ins, while you'll still have all your settings in the old version.  So, if you find it works very well, you can migrate your presets of your old 14.2.1 version.  At some point, you will probably want to run the new version anyway, for that implemented new features implemented by Adobe.

  • calibration of strain using Signal Express measurers

    Hello

The first time asked. Thanks in advance.

I use NI DA system to record the strain of a strain gauge 1/4 350 odm. The connection string would be extensometer---> SCXI-1314 (Terminal)---> SCI 1520 (block 2). I connected the cable to the S - P + and PIN the SCI QTR 1314. The value of the strain appear in LABVIEW EXPRESS. Now, I need to calibrate the extensometer (OFFSET REMOVAL and CALIBRATION of SHUNT). I'm stuck... I have two specific questions:

    1. when I just check 'Offset the removal' in 'calibration' tab error-200380 orrcurs. Can you guys help out me?

    2. I noticed that there are specific pins for the SCXI-1314 shunt calibration. If I wanted to shunt calibration, must I change my wiring, so that the resistance of odm 100 k can be included in the circuit?

    Thank you very much.

In your first post, you have the cable signal since the pledge is going to S- My first suggestion is to move your thread to signal S - s + if you don't have it already done. When 1/4 hanging bridge you only have access to R3 and R4 which are on the + next to the bridge. This high an error on your gain stage is usually a wiring problem or you maneuver the arm hurt in the bridge. In the calibration Assistant spend R4 R3 and see what happens.

    How connected your pledge?

Of your pledge, you should have 3 wires. Vex + (red) on a tab of the pledge and shunt cal and GIS (tied together) on the other tab of the gauge. See my attachment to a vision of how I wired my system. Other colors, the screenshot of your wiring diagram looks like it should work. The difference being, ma sig + is green and the shunt is brown; where your of seems to be white and black. Anyway, double check your pledge and make sure that leads back to your terminal block are where they should be. In the 1314 default shunt resistors are all 100 kilohms unless something has changed in your system, you should be fine.

You can attach a copy of the file .seproj or tab 'Settings' from your screenshot strain gage configuration window. Things like factor value excitement and resistance will affect your calibration and output.

  • Application using Signal Express RTSI

    Hello

I am interested in recording of analog signal synchronization (start time, acquisition of the sample, 3 cards PCI-6289 stop time) and possibly their synchronization with 3 to 5 more cards NI PXI-6221, that are connected to the same host PC via a PCIe-8361 interface PXI-8360.  For now, I will focus on the 3 cards PCI-6289.  I used a RTSI cable with VI recorder is no longer supported and guess that it works well with Signal Express.  I've set up a device cable RTSI NOR able & Automation, which includes 3 PCI cards.  3 PCI cards are the only devices connected to the RTSI cable.  When you check the properties of the RTSI cable device, I left all the boxes unchecked, that seems to be the right setting for my application.  In Signal Express, when you add a device in the Panel on the left of data acquisition (analog voltage signals), I always see each individual card (Dev1, Dev2, Dev3, etc.), but there is no device RTSI.  If I look into the advanced features of synchronization of each of the three panels DAQAcquire, I can apparently use a card as a master clock and the two other cards will have master card sync signals (is it automatically via the RTSI cable, or do I need to connect external clock out on the master card to the clock on the slave cards?) but once again There is no mention of the cable RTSI, or configuration of device RTSI in MAX.  Using the clock of a card in a situation of master/slave help, but it starts and stops all three cards at the same time, or no apparent synchronization between maps will simply be a coincidence?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Brian

You really need your question to the SignalExpress Commission. Few people here use it.

  • Useful signal?

In the doc, we see a lot of signal as onTitleBarChanged, onContentChanged, onAction added... But they are not really useful since it's our code, that change the content. If we already knew. What is the point of these signals?

On the other hand, there are very few real event/entry signals. As onButtonClicked or notecard. How do we know if the user:

-Reached the end of a scrollview

-Comes to a specific node visible by scrolling

    - ... And many events, we had direct or indirect access with Java Blackberry or Android

    Everyone feels the same?

Just to answer the "what is the point of these signals", a point is that practically all interesting properties are implemented more or less automatically to notify the change, so they can be used in links in QML. Without these "on...» Changed"signals, I don't think you could create links with one of these properties.

Another point is that even if your code has changed the content, if you "knew" a given change, how to write your code so that the code that changes something knows also on all the other things which may depend on that change is a bad practice, resulting in the 'fragile' and clumsy designs. Relying on the on... Notification of change of signals, you can set links where the person responsible for changes to the code knows nothing about other things who care changes. It allows you to create reusable components, have a code cleaner and simpler models.

On the more basic question, I agree we are missing many useful and important signals and hope to see the next update to improve things in this area. I think there are (logistic) reasons why we don't have them yet, but I have my fingers crossed we'll see more of them soon.

Note that quietly waiting to see these things happen is not the most effective way to ensure that this happens. Make detailed lists of desired specifications, preferably with use of the case while they do not sound like a catchall of "wouldn't be cool if" ideas without a real need and each message in the forums, write a blog and point people, (perhaps best option) or submit a feature request in JIRA incidents Manager. If you don't wait too long to do this, you will improve the chances of the best ideas will be added before the launch.

I'm putting in place a system of vibration using a search of wilcoxon accelerometer 797-33. Is there some setting you have to light to light the target NOR?

I used the getting started with the example of 9233 as base. However, it will only read 0, while the vi is running

The power of the module 9233 is always.  Its successor, the 9234 contains options to be turned off, and by default the 9234 is turned off.  So with the 9233, is always under tension.

You can watch the specific\NI LabVIEW\examples\compactRIO\module 9233 examples for some ideas on coding.

  • How to use the trigger for Hammer

    Hello

I used a hammer and an accelerometer of pcb to do some tests of beam. I want to express signal for start of log data after I use the hammer hit something. Here is my configuration in express signal.

Trigger type: analog edge. Source of relaxation: the channel of the hammer
    Slope: fall. Level: 0

However, once he began to run, it says "logging was stopped because an error occurred with a step in the project. If this error is due to a device buffer overflow, you can improve performance by disabling updates to screen using the "view > views of Signal update during the race" menu item. You can also change the way in which the signals are recorded by changing the Logging Options in the tools > Options dialog box. Disabling "Prepare the log for display data" will greatly improve performance. "I've changed everything, but it didn't work.

Should I use other types of trigger?

    Thank you

  • my computer does not use all of my ram

I havd this problem before 10, but now its become a problem for me. I can only use 7.22 on my 8 GB of ram. And now when I open my application such as monitoring high game like black ops 3 and 2, he is using barley any what ram then it did when I had windows 8. It now uses 500 000 but before used as 1 000 500

  • How to extract the signal from the waveform of my power level designated?

    Hi all

How can I extract the signal of the waveform accroding to the power level? I read the Trigger & Gate .vi, but this vi retrieves the signal duration. I want to extract the signal depending on the power level.

As shown in the following figures, the signal I want to deal with is between 130000 to 140000, if I Zoom, I can see the useful signal is between 135400 to 138200. The question is how to extract the signal in the area?

I tried the sub_NoiseEst_And_Chop_Shell.vi in the example of Packet_based_link also, but this Subvi seems to be a bit slow. Can someone give me the best advice? Thanks in advance!

I'm working on something similar, but have not had time to fully develop.

My idea was to use an envelope detector (low pass filter) and then use a detection of energy VI on the envelope.

  • Error-200431 occurred at .vi DAQmx Create Channel (I-acceleration-accelerometer)

    Hello

I tried to use DAQmx Create Channel to accelerometer and yet it responds with error (see below). When I use max OR to measure the accelerometer (I-acceleration-accelerometer), there is no error, and I see that acceloremeter works.

OR PXI-1042 and I use OR-4462 card to measure vibration vith acceloremeter.

Error-200431 occurred at DAQmx Virtual Channel Create

    Possible reasons:

Physical channel selected does not support the type of measure required by the virtual channel you create.

Create a channel to a type of measure that is supported by the physical channel, or select a physical channel that supports the type of measure.

    Hi serdaryilmaz,

I'm not sure why the accelerometer mode does not work, but it works very well in normal mode - it maybe has to do with the accelerometer, you?  Whatever it is, if it works with the voltage mode, I am happy that we found a way to make it work.  Is this an acceptable work around you?

  • Is it possible to use the internal clock for meter tasks in the buffer?

    Hello

    Hardware: USB term mass 6251

    Software: LabView 2011 SP1

I need to measure the angular lever position and speed of a carpet. For that I use two quadrature encoders. To accurately calculate the speed I use buffered from the measures of position using one of the available onboard counters. I understand that for this technique, I provide a sample for the meter clock. I wonder if it is possible to use the internal time base. Note that both of my counters are used so I can't generate a signal to clock with them.

I found two conflicting pages related to my problem:

    1) http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/EA7FFFEAFC3E1D85862572F700699530

    2) http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/775290A3121D1FFC862577140074D3B3

The first says that I can use the internal clock of 100 kHz, and the other says that I have an external clock.

    Comments/solutions?

    Javad

    Hi Javad,

On your specific device, there is not a direct route from the time base of 100 kHz for the meter (according to the routing table of MAX):

Yellow cell indicates that a route is possible but there is not direct (the "gate" terminal is used as sample clock for counters of the M series).  Mouse on the cell reveals yellow that make this route really requires the use of a counter (so it is not suitable for your application).

On the line above "100kHzTimebase" you will notice it is called 'FrequencyOutput', which does not have a direct route to the door.  This would be the way to go if you want to route 100 kHz (or some other frequency) as your sample counter clock - you can set it up the same way to a standard meter output task:

The output frequency doesn't have that many features like a meter output, but it is able to generate a continuous stable frequency.  There are only 32 different frequencies that can be generated using Freq Out on the 6251:

    {10 MHz, 100 kHz} / {01:16}

Do not forget that the resolution of your measure of frequency by using this method will be equal to how many times you update the measure (hopefully, that makes sense).  In other words, if at the end of all the 1 second, you take the total number of charges since the last second, you would have a 1 per second equal resolution change in the number.  If you take the difference twice per second, you would end up with half the resolution.  You will be sampling the account register fairly quickly, but you will need only to do the calculation of the frequency after that all N samples in order to obtain a significant number.

Another method that will certainly give a higher resolution in less time at typical speeds of coders is to set up a measurement of the frequency (the counter will count the internal 80 MHz base time period your external signal and the pilot calculates the frequency based on the result).  This method uses only a single entry - so you can just feed the 'A' your encoder quadrature signal (the method will not work if you are interested in absolute position or direction).  Without using signals A and B together, you will be susceptible to noise (which is common to have a quadrature encoder) that you want to delete (perhaps by setting up a digital filter).  Finally, you want to set a reasonable timeout on your reader calls (which will be blocked until a period of your external signal occurs), and the error-200284 handle simply report "0Hz" to make sure that your program is still sensitive even without an external signal present.

    Best regards

  • Timed increase in frequency to "simulate signal.vi.

Hi all, I am a beginner of absoulte with labview so any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to increase the frequency of a sine wave generated, created using signal.vi simulation, increments together over time.
In other words, I want the signal.vi to simulate to produce a sinusoidal signal who will say during a period of time increase of 39.5 kHz frequency to 41.5 kHz increments of 0.1 hz.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Here's a way to do a basic scan.

  • How to use an order superior mother Wavelet change to discreet Undecimated Wavelet

Hello world. I am trying to compare the results obtained from Matlab app Wavelet Design and analysis, which uses an order of Daubechies 40th mother Wavelet in order to avoid an overlap between adjacent bands, for an MCSA (current Signature analysis) application engine. I use the Undecimated Wavelet Transform. For this VI I used, to the choice of the mother Wavelet, so the entry Wavelet and filter of analysis, as well as the wavelet Design VI terminal; the maximum order of mother Wavelet in the options above, was 14. What can I do to increase enforcement of the mother Wavelet?

    Hi janotron

If you explore this example you can see how to increase the value of the wavelet, also if you have the file with the value of the wavelet, you can use the walevert filter to read a file, you can serch in the labview examples Wavelet selection order.

Here is a link that explains how to create the value of the walevert Custom Wavelet analysis using Signal Processing Toolkit in LabVIEW

As I've mencioned before Wavelet could then be treated using the Wavelet filter, here is the link which explain how to use the filter walevert WA Wavelet filter VI
