  • Does the HP 5500 - 24G - PoE + (JG541A) equipped with a power supply?

The documentation is not clear. I need to know if a redeemable only in hot power supply is supplied with the JG541A switch. Documentation, says 'must select Min 1 Power Supply'.

I guess there's one, but the image that HP has the back of the switch shows no power supply.

    Thank you!

When you configure the switch for purchase it is also a time to select the power supply.

  • Maximum power PoE switch SG100D - 8 p

    Hi all...

    Help, please

    How PoE power of SG100D - 8 p?

its port 8 all support PoE?

    Kind regards

    Leonardus

    Hi all

I wrote to the product manager switch (MP) and requested a document. He continued with a few detailed characteristics indicating the budget POE of 32watts spread over the ports 1 to 4. However, my statement above is correct.

A section of this document that the PM has sent me, is copied below.

Can't blame leolaohoo for being confused, because I think not publicly in the face of a document which indicates the power dedicated to the POE ports on switches in the 100 series.

When leolaohoo States in a question in a previous message and request confirmation, "basically what Dave said is that the switch can provide up to 8w of PoE power." my apologies for any misunderstanding.

The unmanged 8-port POE switches CAN provide up to 32Watts of POE power spread over four ports.

    Best regards, Dave

  • Are there plans for the new ESW 500 models switch with PoE capability?

I know that current models of ESW 500 switch don't have enough capacity to power all the switchports to 15.4, even if the ESW-540-8 p model has almost enough capacity to power all the switchports to 15.4.

Reasons why new ESW 500 switch with PoE capacity are necessary:

    • The existing PoE 500 ESW switches have not always enough when these devices are deployed with the UC500:

      • 7945, 7965 and 797 x phones
      • series phones (not yet supported with the SBCS solution) 9900 and 8900
      • PVC2300 Surveillance Cameras
      • AP541N access points
    • The UC560 comes with all the PoE ports and requires at least an ESW switch be deployed
    • Version 48 ports gigabit switch ESW is currently available only in the version not PoE, and we need a version of 48 gigabit ports for users of the UC560 solution.

Existing ESW 500 switch PoE capabilities are:

    • ESW-520-8 P: 60W
    • ESW-540-8 P: 120W
    • ESW-520-24 P: 180W
    • ESW-540-48P: 380W
    • ESW-540-24 P: 280W

PoE of ESW 500 switch capabilities supporting 15.4 full power on all PoE PoE ports are:

    • 8 port: 123.2W
    • 24 port: 369.6W
    • 48 port: 739.2W

Are there plans to release the new ESW 500 switch models increased capacity, enough to supply the full 15.4 to all PoE ports with PoE?

Hi John - Thank you for your participation in the small community of business support. I talked to our switch product manager and want to share his response.

We have taken the conscious decision to deliver PoE as ESW and other switches for small businesses for several reasons:

    • Endpoints PoE more attract a lot less than the 15.4 W maximum power. Most IP phones are below the range of 7W.
    • A typical deployment would most PoE devices connect to a switch.
    • For these reasons, the ESW is not burdened cost with the PoE feature which would not be used most of the time.
    • All ports are still able to PoE you can connect up to 24 devices PoE Switch 24 ports to any point in time, as long as the handset is in the title of the budget.
    • Therefore, given that these products are intended for small business and the price is an important factor, we opted for this approach.

We do not have a product at full power on all ports in the Cisco Small Business portfolio, except in the arena of 8 channels. Within Cisco, Cisco Catalyst products support this today.

    Thanks again for the question,

  • that switch for POE and 7940G phones?

I have 2 (and maybe soon other 5) 7940G phones to add to my network, which already has a Netgear POE capable switch. I have since discovered that early Cisco POE is not the same as current POE, and the switch is not supply phones.

I was looking at the addition of a switch with 8 ports to power Cisco SD208P phones, but I soon discovered that there only 4 POE ports, and I'm not sure that this switch will even be able to the 7940 G phones. And if the other 5 phones show up, I'll need two of these switches with no room for expansion of the network of the voice.

This switch will equip these phones?

Is there another little switch so I don't replace my existing infrastructure of switch to get these phones to work? Or should I throw the phones and get something newer that will work with the current standards of the OCB?

    Will,

I want to watch ESW520 8 ports switch, it will supply phones and will be the "*" VLAN configuration already in them.

Side note ' * ': This implies that you use VLAN100 and Cisco Voice system for the switch

Go to this site instead.  It shows that the model you have chosen has NO PoE.  Instead, it uses the PoE of a switch upstream to turn.

  • WAP4410N shows only one SSID

I have a 4410N put in place on my network. I use 4 VLANS on my network which I use my default VLAN 1 as the VLAN 'public' that we use to give our clients WiFi for free. I would have two SSID visible from the access point, a non-secure and connected to VLAN 1, and another set with WPA2 and connected to our Office VLAN on which the various servers and resources are available. My preference is for the two SSID be visible, because it is not a problem of major security and as the only one IT, I have no time to set up each computer that uses the network with the SSID, but I will if I have to.

I set up the 4410N with his first SSID using our public WiFi name and does not have any security on it. I went to the page VLAN and configure it to use both the default VLAN 1 VLAN, and VLANS for the first SSID. Then I I went back to the basic settings page and added a second SSID and chose "Enabled". I went to the Security page and left most things like default (Wireless insulation between SSID is enabled) and change the security settings for the Office of SSID for WPA2-Personal. Finally, I went to the page VLAN and is the VLAN 4.

When I return to my computer or other wireless devices, I don't see the public SSID, not the office. I have on my computer (Win7 x 64) one 'Other network' option, but the intensity of the signal on this network is lower than that of the public SSID available. Also, if I try to connect using the name SSID of the office and the password I put, do not access.

Am I totally wrong understand how multiple SSID is supposed to work? I'm trying a lot of assumptions here. Anyway, any help that can be provided would be great!

PS I have no idea if this would affect it, but in the interest of all possible factors of the inscription, the 4410N is powered by PoE and the switch port it is connected to is set to 802. 1 q with a value of 1 to 4 according to the VLAN.

    * EDIT *.

After the announcement, I discovered that in the status page wireless, two SSIDS are listed, but only one (the public SSID) has a listed MAC. I guess I should add a somewhere. Where do I do this, and what is a 'safe' MAC use will not conflict with what anyone?

    * EDIT *.

  • WAP321 unresponsive

    Hello

I have a WAP321 access point which seems to only work for around 24-36hrs before does not, requiring a power cycle to get it running again. I am running the latest firmware 1.0.2.3 and have disabled green ethernet (which cost for extended operating time). Also save the config doesn't seem very unreliable, sometimes it works, and most of the time it isn't. Anyome have pointers?

    Thank you

    Phil

Hi Phil, as cliché as it may seem, any time of the upgrade of the firmware on a device, it should be factory default in order to avoid any overlap of code possible and things of this nature.

There was a bug on an earlier version of the firmware when using specific zones, the unit will return to market (losing all settings) when restarting. This problem may or may not be related to you but since he knew with such problems, it is possible that you have a persistent effect.

The extent of the random reboot, dropping. Many times, it's because on use. In most cases when devices of becomes unstable, it's because of too many connective users. SB wireless products are designed for 20 to 30 connective users.

If this does not apply to you, I would first of all by default of the unit then assess things like the power supply (poe or output switch) and check connectivity issues everywhere where the AP connects to. These products have been extremely stable since their inception.

  • Cisco 220 - 48P

    Dear Bro

I'm working on the Cisco SMB partner. I'm not clear about PoE + on this Cisco.

Incidentally kindly please give me what port number that support PoE + Switch Cisco 220 - 48 p.

    Better compliance

    Chan

    The data sheet States:

Switches are supported 802.3af and 802.3at standard pre Cisco (legacy) PoE on port 1 to port 4 with a maximum power of 30W per port; switches are supported 802.3af and standard pre Cisco (legacy) PoE on other RJ-45 ports with a maximum power of 15.4 W per port

This applies to all models compatible PoE; the maximum number of PoE ports feeds simultaneously is determined by the total budget of PoE for the switch and the requirement of the real power of the devices of PD

The total power available for PoE switch is as follows:

    Model name

    Dedicated to PoE power

Number of Ports that support the PoE

  • Cisco SG300 - 28 p - Port security issue.

Hi, I would like to activate the port security on a Cisco SG300 PoE 28 p Switch. I would like to know how this can be done in cases where port is more connected to desktop switches 8 ports and in cases where computers are connected directly to the switch.

    Thanking you in advance,

    Parth.

This is described in detail in the section 'Configuration of Port Security' on page 326 to 329 of the document Cisco Small Business 300 Series Managed Switch Administration Guide.

The difference between a port serving a desktop switch and the other directly serving endpoint is just the number of MAC addresses that you want to leave.

  • Several AP 1142 suddenly lose SSID

    Hello

I wonder if someone can help send me in the right direction to diagnose the following problem?

We have two sites on a single controller of a WISN blade and both sites use 1142 AP.

In recent days, the two sites have reported the Wireless does not. The check on the controller and the WCS network reports as being fine, with all appear and even WCS reports power radio etc.

However, on the spot, in one instance a complete hotel and the second being an entire floor of a Halls of Residence, there is no sign of wireless network. Not one single SSID (we have 2) is broadcast and same Airmagnet Survey Pro tool is unable to detect any wireless activity.

We have been very intrigued by this and finally solved the problem by recycling PoE interfaces on switches on board, causing a reboot of the AP, on which the SSID has begun to be rebroadcast.

  • SPA 962 - intermittently without audio (RTP port closed/inaccessible)

    Hi all!

We recently bought 21 phones Linksys SPA-962 for our office. We took this directly from our PoE (Cisco 300) switch to our sipx box that is on the same subnet and switch (sipx does not execute iptables). Most of our phone calls works fine, but we find that periodically (for example 1 of 10 calls) we have no audio data. There is no NAT settings so it should be relatively simple.

The most interesting part of the problem is that it seems to be the phone itself. The reason why I believe that it is the phone is due to the attached pcap trace. You can see the first call in this trace is bad and the second is actually filled out correctly.

Trading on SIP, everything seems to work properly and the phone says what RTP port to be used but when sipx is trying to communicate that RTP port the phone returns an ICMP port unreachable! To set a syslog to the phone as a debug server, it appears the phone believes that he opened the receiver port but lower it attempts to send rtp of sipxecs and he can't send rtp backwards but it is because I believe that the port could not allocate/open in the first place.

I tried all four available Cisco firmwares that I could find, and they all have the same question. I tried also to place the phone on it's own VLAN, I tried SRTP, tried symmetric RTP, I tried Sticky 183 and nothing seems to resolve the behavior.

    Do we have bad phones?

We have also a gateway Grandstream ATA with polycoms attached and all those phone calls 100% of working time.

    Thanks in advance!

I got it. Disable CDP on the page of the system. That's all.

  • PoE to power a switch

Does anyone know of an Ethernet hub or switch that can be powered from Power Over Ethernet?  I have a location without electricity but with an Ethernet jack.  This would allow me to extend the network there without having to invest in the walls of the electrician and opening etc.

    Thank you.

There are switches that can provide Poe or be powered by PoE equipment (such as Netgear and TP-Link) network suppliers. It is also possible to use a separate PoE injector for the provision. For switches/routers without possibility to be powered directly by PoE, a PoE splitter can offer an alternative solution. There are some limits of voltage and current (and temperature) that must be respected. In addition, always check the construction and electrical instructions for your country.
