V3 - 771 cannot enter BIOS to rebuild from recovery DVDs

Hi all

My installation of Windows 8 has been corrupted and does not start. So I just want to get the laptop to boot from the recovery DVD or any DVD so I can rebuild.

No matter how hard I press F2, nothing happens and I get "no boot device, press a key." It just takes me to a blank start menu! I tried with what I know to be bootable CD/DVD internally and have used external DVD drives.

I want to just get into the setup to boot from the DVD drive. How difficult that can be. Very far and completely frustrating.

Any advice or help welcome.

Thank you very much for your time.

Paul

Hello again,

This problem is corrected now strangely. I had tried to start on many drives of type Ultimate Boot with no luck. I jumped in a DVD of Windows 7 which has started loading, but didn't the first time.

I rebooted and then the "F2" worked well. I changed the classic UEFI BIOS got up the menu key to boot at startup and started on the DVD of Windows 7. Load up now very well.

This is nuts. Affect the initial installation of Windows 8 that crashed BIOS/UEFI? I'm old school and both should be completely independent. The operating system should have nothing to do with the computer startup mechanism.

Thank you very much

Paul

    Hello

one of my friends has ruined his Toshiba Satellite 5100.
He has erased all the partition on the disk hard while the laptop always using the default setting.
so, I could not boot from the cd or enter the BIOS.
Is there any solution for this?

    Thank you

    Hello

You can use different ways to boot from the CD drive.
You can press the C key immediately after restarting the laptop.
In this case, the laptop should boot from the CD. (Don t forget to insert the CD)

Another way is to change the boot order in the BIOS. To enter the BIOS, please use the ESC key.

  • Cannot enter BIOS on Win 7 HPE with American Megatrends BIOS

Although others have asked how to access the BIOS Setup interface, the answers have not solve my problem. so I write another similar question.

According to the subject line, I can't access the BIOS Setup interface during startup.  My system runs Windows 7 HPE.  The equipment includes an elite group of ECS motherboard that came with BIOS of American Megatrend chip version 4.6.5 and is dated 05/03/2012.  I have never flashed or otherwise updating of the BIOS chip, but I could bring up the graphical user interface and change the options.  I did quite recently in fact.

When I power fail system and/or entering the cycle of rebooting from the button start, the system stops and then begins to start and displays the start of American Megatrends screen.  Press DEL repeatedly has no impact on the continuation of start-up.  He proceeds as if the keyboard were not active and the system did not, therefore, the interruption of the keyboard...  Because the splash screen also mentions F2 and F7, I tried these interruptions as well, nothing helps.  The boot process has continued.

I searched the web until my fingers are simple bumps and can't find anything really useful.  I read and reread mother ECS card manual without finding anything.  I found a FAQ on the web page of American Megatrends, which addressed problems to access the BIOS with Win 8, which suggests that the change of power options would be effective. However, these referenced power options do not exist in my win 7 system HPE.  Yes, Power Options are available from the Control Panel, but the individual options are not the same to win 8.

FWIW, I pulled all the hard disks internal power cables to see if I could access the BIOS interface.  I was able to do so; However, without BONES, the keyboard is not active so no keyboard interrupts can be issued.

I would be grateful for any advice on how to influence of post-processing to slow down and make sure that any issue the keyboard interrupt is seen and followed.

  • Cannot create a second set of recovery DVD for Office Pavilion p6-2065uk

I bought a new computer from office three weeks ago and created a recovery of three DVD set. Unfortunately I just realized they are DVD + RW and that type of shouldn't have been used and are not supported.

My computer won't let me create another set of recovery DVD. Is that what I can do about it.

Thanks for the reply DP - K. DVD pack have been very confused because they are marked with the DVD + R, but on the other side, there is a small symbol RW. It would seem that they are not rewritable because files are certainly on the DVD and following the instructions through the hotline telephone Windows7 started to load them so everything looks very good. Thanks again.

  • ThinkPad E330 cannot enter BIOS/UEFI more

Hey guys, I got a very annoying problem with my E330.

He came without OS, so I put 8 Win on the preinstalled HARD drive. Then, I went out for one SSD and put Win 7 on it.
    (all UEFI mode)

Since then I can not enter in the BIOS/UEFI more press either Enter or F1.
Pressing enter gives me still a beep, but then Windows continues to load normally instead of view several options, like he used to do.

And yes I am aware that I need a cold start to Win 8 to enter the UEFI

The only way to access UEFI at this time is through charms-bar restarting 8 Win in UEFI thing.

I tried to reflash the BIOS that does not of course because this is the same version, tried to remove the CMOS battery, that gave me an opportunity to enter the UEFI with F1 when he complained the date/hour of time.

Switching to Legacy only brings me to an infinite PXE - something loop of the error, but I still cannot get into the BIOS.

I tried pressing all combinations of keys Fn + F and without the Fn. Nothing works.

I don't want to return the laptop, but it is a deal breaker for me if I can't Win 7 running on this subject with UEFI accessible.

OK, the problem was solved with the help of the someotherguy of the user from the forum. It has detailed instructions.

Looks like that install Win 7 mode UEFI corrupts the BIOS.

    Hello

If you have a new machine with Win8, you must perform a full stop in a first time. Check it please http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm
It is explained how to do this. Restart your laptop, and you should be able to enter the BIOS settings. I don't know which F button, you need to use but on my I use F12 and there entry option settings.

    Check it out please.

  • HP Pavilion g6-1313sh Notebook: dual Radeon graphics card - cannot enter bios mode fixed

    Hello!

I recently bought this laptop apart from my friend and is struggling with this for a few weeks now.

I was on the forum every day for a few hours without result.

so, my laptop is HP Pavilion 1313sh g6 with Win7. I have the latest version of the bios, so I could put my gpu bios mode set instead of dynamic.

Here's the problem... When my setting was dynamic, I got the "switchable graphics" option and I could put the preset by application. as many people pointed out, it really does not work, so I went back to fix.

This option is now missing. so I tried in CCC, following this: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03048374 in the fixed bit.

It is, I have no change option... I only get the graphics card AMD Radeon Dual 'activate' or disable... but not the button to switch permanently to the highest performance card... checked in CCC, it recognize my 2 cards under hardware (1st HD6520G 2nd is Hd7400M).

I start to tear up the rest of my hair. Please can someone tell me what I miss? as said, the most recent drivers from the site is all settled.

    Thank you!

    Hi @SmokeyJohnny ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion g6-1313sh Notebook and issues with graphics switchable. You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop.

When running a system restore note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

If this does not resolve the problem would be to uninstall the graphics drivers listed in your device manager. Reboot the laptop and it must be reinstalled the proper drivers. Yours is the AMD Radeon HD 6520 + 7450 Mr. here are your drivers if you need.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • 700 - 147C envy: cannot change bios to boot from backup USB Acronis. Startup command problem

I tried to boot from my USB Acronis boot device to clone my C: drive to another HARD drive, but I was unable to set the boot order (first USB) because it keeps resetting & put the USB back where it was before.  I've done this before without problem; I wanted to boot from an external USB Acronis rescue disk & run the procedure to clone of it. The USB is listed in the startup as list "Sandisk Cruzer 1.27 & it's the ISO boot Acronis on this file but I failed to get the pc to boot from it.» (not this time in any case). After a needless frustration 3 hours I ran successfully clone of C: drive procedure.  I checked the clone by disconnecting the source & boot from it, but it works "BOOT PXE ON IPV4 followed by PXE BOOT ON IPV6 before it starts the clone. The startup disk is listed before the lines of IPV in the bios then why what is happening?  I disabled the 2 procedures of IPV with F5 & now it starts normally, but I do not consider this problem solved, because I have not yet able to boot from USB & I don't know why I had to disable these 2 lines.

Addendum: I revisited the right bios & reactivated 2 disabled lines & it is now booting properly, no nonsense IPV. Go figure.

    Help!

    Hello

I've seen similar problems before.  I solved me my clearing the CMOS and then start with only a UEFI (the main HD) compatible device. After that the problem had gone away, I reconnected it and then my other active UEFI device.

johnstevens wrote: Hey Hanspuppa if it's the fault of the card from my mother, it means I need a new computer?

Or can I just know what part of the motherboard is defective? If so, how? Thanks for the help. JS

Hello johnstevens, usually the only element on the motherboard that can be replaced by the user would be the CMOS battery.

I replaced motherboard capacitiors failed a few years ago, when these faulty capacitors have been a real problem for the PC industry. This problem has since been resolved largely. Different types of motherboard capacitiors are now used.

There are also some cards diagnosis motherboard which are used to diagnose motherboards, but they are mainly used by manufacturers of motherboards. When they find a defective item on the motherboard, they have the tools and expertise needed to replace the defective item and it recheck once the repairs have been made.

If the CMOS battery does not solve the problem, a motherboard replacement seems to be the most viable solution, or buy a new computer. These replacement motherboards can both, cost half the price of a new Tower.

You wouldn't need a new monitor unless your current monitor is an old, defective, or you want a larger screen size.

  • Cannot enter BIOS or Option of Boot to display on my desktop Acer Aspire M3450

For the last few days I tried to access in the BIOS or The Boot Options screen by pressing the keys with " DEL " for BIOS and ' F12 ' to The Boot Options screen. Same pressing down both keys on my keyboard and switch to normal startup with Windows 10 logo screen and then type password. I'm sure you know that this office is not supported for parameters of the UEFI. I tried with Settings\Update and Security-Advanced Options- then have 6 names on the double column , but I'm not sure that one to take to solve the problem. Here are the 6 names below:

    System restore

    System Image recovery

    Startup Repair

    Command prompt

    Startup parameters

Go back to the previous version

Everything what I wan tis to solve two things by pressing the ekys for BIOS and the Boot Options screen. That's all that I need it. Or I need to reinstall the entire disk operating system Microsoft Windows 10 Home Premium 64?   Either way, my computer's desktop Acer Aspire M3450 game.

    Thank you

    John

It's a good thing I do not get out the my desktop's CMOS battery. Someone I know told me I 'Try to change the keyboard' Guess - it works now. The USB keyboard that I just bought does not work so I went back to the wireless keyboard that I used all the time. So now my problem is solved.

Can I ask a question - why doesn't the USB keyboard support to accept that I press the key after the reboot for BIOS or Boot Display Options? Hope that someone here in this forum will answer for that.

    Thank you

  • Cannot restore my Tecra A10 from recovery disc

    Hello

I'm having a problem restoring my C disk from a disk image. The Toshiba HARD drive recovery utility seems to have disappeared from my computer.
When I followed the instructions for restoring (be it by pressing 0, or F8 during startup to access the HARD drive recovery utility) I finally get a message saying

"The creation of means of recovery is impossibe! File recovery HARD drive on the second disc of the first hard drive not found. There is no valid disk HARD recovery environment on this computer. »

(I get a similar message if I try to open the Toshiba recovery disc creator in the start menu)

Because this does not work, I tried using recovery discs that I have made previously using the same utility. I insert the disk and start the computer (according to instructions), but nothing happens and it starts Windows normally. How can I use these discs?

My laptop is a Tecra A10 16 d Windows vista professional.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

As much as I know saved on HARD drive recovery image can't disappear. I guess you did a few exchanges of structure of HARD drive and now recorded image is not found by the wizard of HARD drive recovery or Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. Both of these tools know where to look for it, but if they do not find specific markers you will get this message.

Now the only option for you is the use of recovery disks.
Do you use this disk for the first time now?
When you check the contents of the disc in Windows Explorer you will see the content?

Then try to boot using the created disc. Start Notepad, and then press F12. When the boot menu appears on the screen, place the disc in the ODD, choose the CD/DVD drive on the list and press ENTER.

What happens when you do this?

  • Tecra A9 - 12 H: format & reinstall Vista from recovery DVDs

    Hello

I think formatting my Tecra A9 - 12H and relocation, but must first some questionas.

    (1) there is a hidden partition which Vista doesn't find - Disk manager says he's 1.46 GB EISA Configuration. -What it means, this partition must be left as it is and what its current usefulness?

    (2) made the Vista disc supplied with the machine to include all the necessary drivers, or do I have to download these before a format? For example, manuals says that I have to put the Intel Matrix Storage Manager on a floppy and it will tell Vista before installing. Is there something else I need to do before or after the installation like that?

    (3) what about the software like Office 2007 and SQL Server 2005 & Norton Internet Security? ID orriger they really want, but I'm not all utilities Toshiba AND WinDVD. How can I get these? I downloaded an update for WinDVD, but the download page, it is said that it is only an update - which needs a version already installed to work.

    (4) is there something special on the disk in Windows Vista - is it custom somehow by Toshiba, or is it just a standard disk?

    Thank you

    Iain

    Hello

I will try my best and strive to answer your question ;)

    So let's talk number;

    (1) the Vista creates the hidden partition on the HARD drive. This hidden partition is necessary for WinRE.
These are backups if something goes wrong with the operating system.

    (2) on the Toshiba Recovery CD, you will find the image of Toshiba. The image is a package. It contains the OS (Vista), drivers, tools and utilities.
So if you want to use the recovery CD then everything will install on the HARD disk. You will receive the booklet with the original factory configuration.

    (3) I don't know exactly what software was delivered but using the recovery CD, you will get everything preinstalled additional applications.

    (4) the Toshiba Recovery CD is not the same as the original CD from MS Vista.
As I said in the previous point, the restore CD contains an image.
MS vista CD is only the OS without additional drivers, tools or utilities!

    See you soon
