Value of money to upgrade?

I am currently shooting with a T3i and have been very satisfied with the results.  I have considered upgrading to full frame, but the price and the investment I made in the EF-S-objectives makes me shy away for now.  I was wondering if it would be worth to the 7 d, but it seems to offer no real advantage beyond the 1/8000 shutter speed.  I thought I must be missing something when you compare the price for the 7 d against other EOS APS - C cameras.  Advice, ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Thank you

Daryl

On this basis, I would say no.  It's not like really, you run within your facility.   Either wait until you meet with your current device, or decide to go full frame, or Canon finally released a new crop sensor with real benefits IQ that you find useful.

If this is where you want to go with it, I'd put money in a studio configuration.  I think that this is the biggest jump, you can do the photography, it opens possibilities much more than move to full frame or the upgrade of cameras or lenses.  You will definitely look different of photography then.

I have Nikon D4s and I assumed new Adobe Photoshop CC open camera raw, but I was wrong, did I lose time and money to upgrade

It opens images of D4. Check what version of camera raw you have. Camera raw 8 was installation on versions of 2015 for a reason, and, I think, you need at least 8.4. If you have 8.4 or above, did you use Nikon software to transfer the images? It has been known to corrupt the files of some cameras so PS can not open them.

  • Upgrade SSD for a Tecra R840-16J

    Hello world

This is my first post here!
I am Portuguese and I bought a R840-16J two months ago. I chose this model because it had all the specs I wanted (I run Toshiba laptops since 1997... and my first still works!) except one: he had not an SSD. Given that I could not custom make my laptop that I bought it with a 500 GB HDD at 7200 RPM,.
The upgrade only I could do (and I did) was to install an extra 4 GB RAM module.

I would like to install an SSD now (with the same capacity,...).

    My questions:

    1. don't recommend me a special brand/model?
2 - What are the steps that I need to have a correct installation?
    3. I installed a lot of sw that I need (office, PS and many astronomy specific sw I use). Do I have to re - install all these or is it a solution to 'clone' my HARD drive SSD?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated :-).

    Kind regards
    Paulo

    > 1-do you recommend me a special brand/model?

I would not recommend a specific model or manufacturer, I think that it s always a question of value for money. I recommend you get some reading and assessment tests some SSD drive test on tech Web sites.
You can choose the best SSD drive for you I mean it didn't need to be the best and expensive

    > 2 - what steps I have to do a correct installation?

It is the same procedure as the HARD drive upgrade.
Check this nice HowTo from Toshiba:
Tecra R840 & Satellite R840 HARD drive replacement procedure
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/CRU19037K0000R01.htm

    > 3 - I installed a lot of sw that I need (office, PS and many astronomy specific sw I use). Do I have to re - install all these or is it a solution to 'clone' my HARD drive SSD?

You can install everything again on new SSD drive or you will create an image:
You can use an option included in Windows 7:
Click Start at the start and then select back up your files.
Then click on create a system image hyperlink.
Now you can choose where you want to save the image. You can choose an external HARD disk, burn it on several DVD s, or store it on a network location.
When you want to restore the image, you will be able to use the System Recovery Options to recover the system. For a recovery of the system option, you must start the Win 7 F8 press should choose fix my computer. You will find in this window option called: system image recovery

  • HP Pavilion 500-141ea: GPU upgrade

    Hi all

I'm new here, but hid for some time in the run up to the upgrade of my GPU.

I am owner of a pavilion of 500-141 ea - spec/details here: here.

I have had it for awhile now and have made a few casual games on it (Euro Truck Sim2) - it's OK at best, I am looking to upgrade the GPU to something a little better to improve the graphics. After absorbing as much information as possible on these forums, I discovered I obviously need a new graphics card, and as my current diet is valued at 300W, it would be best to stick to a moment PSU.

Now, I've been watching the 960 GTX that seems a fantastic card but, for what I'm doing, I'm not sure if it's exaggerated.

I turned to the GTX 750Ti after I've seen recommended by so many people. Including who I've been watching is the Asus version. Link. Looks like a solid GPU and fantastic value for money. I did some measure inside my case and think it "should" adapt, but as I am a novice I'm not sure, he would not blame on what whether 100%. It is the main thing that concerns me.

For a power supply I was watching a CX500 Corsair, which should be more than enough for my needs at the moment. Looking at the ASUS card especially need a 6 pin directly from the power supply (from what I've read).

I also read on UEFI/BIOS/settings issues so I'm ready for it to come when I update the map, but I'll post if I have a problem.

So, I'm sorry for the essay, but I guess I want to know if anyone knows if the ASUS card would be and if the Corsair would be a good diet to use.

Thanks for reading / your answers.

    Chris.

    CGD1, welcome to the forum.

We do not mind trials because they give us the information we need to make good decisions.

Here is the map of Newegg.  Normally, the thing that worries me cards dual fan is the length.  You want the card to fit and have lots of space for good air circulation.  This card is the perfect length.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  I also like the EVGA cards.  They have great Tech support.

I love Corsair products.  The PSU you chose should work great.  The map in my link only requires 6-power connector additional.

  • Case of event Structure to manage the value between

I put in place a structure of the event to enter data in a multicolumn listbox.  I wanted to use a table, but it was difficult to place symbols in the first column; even using the odd fonts (Webdings, etc.) to get check marks, x, etc...  I don't want the user to change some of the columns, so a MCL with a structure of the event to detect user input works well in the test code.

When the user clicks on a cell in the LFA, then I place a transparent control chain on the cell of the same size, so the user, it seems that they enter data.  I pre-fill the chain with the existing content of the cell control and site selection at the end of the string.  After you enter a string, the control of transparent string is moved outside the LFA, so all the clicks of the mouse in the LFA are always detected.  It all works very well.

If the user changes the value and press 'Enter' or click on the button Enter text under the file menu check box, the structure of the "Change value" event triggers then.

If the user keeps the same value and presses 'Enter' then the structure of the 'Touch Up' event where ScanCode = 28 detects the press 'Enter '.

However, if the user wants to keep the same value and presses the button check box on the file menu and then the structure of the event does not detect it.  I added a bunch of advanced control of the chain, but if the user moves the mouse away from the control and then the tip appears only for a few moments.

Some of my users are used to click the box to enter the channels, so I'd like to understand how to handle this event.

What can I add to the structure of the event to detect user maintaining the same value by clicking the checkbox?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Leif Kirschenbaum

P.S. I'm using LV 7.1 because my startup employer cannot justify the money to upgrade right now.  Yes, in more modern versions are nodes property to indicate the line & column clicked in a MCL, but I don't have access to it, so I use the position sizes and the row/column of MCL up/left to determine what cell they clicked in.

You could hide the toolbar of the VI during the race, this disables the option click on the button "enter".

Or you can run a small loop to see if the string still has key-focus, I discovered that when you enter the main focus is removed from the control of the chain.

  • I want to upgrade to El Capitan, but might want to back Lion

I am running Lion and thinking about upgrading to El Capitan.  However, I have some graphics programs (which I need for work) and I fear that they can not working correctly after I upgraded (what happened in the past).  And I don't have the money to upgrade all software.

What is the best way to make them after I've upgraded, can I return to Lion if I need to (if my programs no longer work)?  A bit nervous about switching where I can't go back.  Or am I just worrying about nothing?

Use a program such as disk utility or Carbon Copy Cloner to clone Lion on an external drive or install El Capitan on this disc.

  • Compaq Presario CQ56: What is the best CPU upgrade I can do for my Compaq Presario CQ56?

What can improve my current AMD V140 to?

    Hello

The following link shows the specifications of your computer:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02542735

Not much you can do with the following list

But if you want, please use the page 75 the following manual shows you how to replace the CPU on your machine:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02657369.PDF

My suggestion: don't waste money to upgrade, save more money to buy the new machine. Now your machine is a bit old and new machines are much cheaper than 5 or 6 years before.

    Kind regards.

  • Satellite A300-1QP - RAM upgrade question

    Hello world

After a few years, I decided to spend the money to upgrade the RAM.
Now, I'm pretty stuck to understand what to do.

I always knew that my laptop can be upgraded to 8 GB.
I also have many references for this information:

    -model: Satellite A300-1 q PSAGCE-07000QIT
    (http://www.toshiba.it/discontinued-products/satellite-a300-1qp/)

I checked physically slots: there are currently two slots of 2 GB each.
As long as no expert, I thought that the the more logical way to upgrade such a configuration is to buy the other two chips of 4 GB each to reach the 8GB.

However, it appears this combination didn't is not possible because I don't find not (I checked the site of Kingston and the Amazon). The upgrade of RAM I want to achieve is:
    -DDR2
    -800 Mhz
    -8 GB

If this can be useful, I note all the data on the other two RAM modules:
    2GB 2Rx8 PC2-64005-666-12-Z3
    800 Mhz DDR2-SDRAM

Can someone help me understand what to do to upgrade the RAM 8 GB?

    Thank you very much

    Francesco

    Hello

The laptop was equipped with the Intel GM45 Express chipset and the Intel ARK page this Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express is capable of dealing with the 8 GB of RAM
The chipset seems to support 667 MHz / 800 MHz/1066 modules MHz

If you want to increase the RAM up to 8 GB of RAM, the best option would be the use of 2 x SO-DIMM 4 GB (DDR2 800 Mhz) modules
The present modules must be removed and replaced with two modules of 4 GB.

Usually, you can use modules of different brand but modules good markets can cause a lot of problem different and strange. So I recommend you to buy good quality like Kingston, Toshiba, modules etc.

  • the upgrade of my gpu

Hi I have a HP Compaq dc7600 (renovated) and I want to upgrade in order to play games more fluid and make fast in sony vegas. The games I would like to run is Minecraft. I can run now, but with little fps. I said there is no reason to upgrade my cpu so I wondered what graphics card should I get that is was cheap and decent. I hope someone can help. I'm sorry if this is not enough info, but I'm not good to know the specifications of the computer.

    Specifications of the PC:

Intel Pentium D CPU 3.00 GHz Dual Core

    4 GB of Ram

80 GB HARD drive (I have 500 GB external and plan on internal upgrading soon)

    32 bit operating system

P.S. You probably think these features are terrible, but I've only had this pc for basic things first but know I must upgrade to do more.

Thank you for the additional information.

This is the "technical reference Guide" to the computer.  It has all the features you need to know.  He made them all; including the SFF.

There is a PCI Express x 16 and aPCI Express x 1 slot.  However, the main problem you'll have is the power supply unit (PSU) is only 240W (P. 19).  Most of the newer cards that will be all good for games of any kind requires at least 350W.  I don't think you'll find one that will fit in the case.

Personally, I don't think it's worth the money to upgrade the computer.  That's more than 9 years.  I don't want you to spend money that will not improve performance.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • mini 210-1000: upgrade of processor and memory

I have an urgent need to upgrade the processor cpu and the memory of my daughter because I think it would be a cheaper option compared to buy a tablet at the moment. My main reason, in addition to money, to upgrade his notebook are:

~ very slow to load web pages

    ~ slow to open files

~ memory is only 1 GB

My daughter will soon be a teenager & I'm tired of sharing MY tablet. lol, but above all, there is nothing wrong w/the notebook to justify replacement.

    The system components:

    Intel Atom N450 @ 1.66 GHz 1.67 GHz

    1 GB

    32 bit OS

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

    Hello

You are welcome. For children, a tablet now, looks like 'variegated' than a mini.

    Happy new year.

  • Upgrading HP a6123w for expansion of World of Warcraft

    Hello all-

    I currently run a HPa a6123w

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01070884

The upgrade only that I did is to put a pretty weak NVidia 8400gs graphic card in it... I just went to Best Buy and bought one in the range of $ 50 million.

I am a player of World of Warcraft, and recently in anticipation of the new expansion, they have improved their graphics. I see now quite poor performance with the graphics settings turned far enough down. I have to go on settings low to shoot about 30 pictures per second.

Looking around updates of questions on this forum, I see a new power supply and graphics card in my future.

I know I should up my diet through at least 500w or so with a quality brand PSU.

I also know that I have to update my graphics card.  I'm looking to either an ATI 4850, 5670 or 5770.  Or the Nvidia gtx 460.

I'm looking for my best option "bang for buck".  I really only play WoW on my PC, which I know is not a graphics card heavy game of cards.  I also know that I am a bottleneck with my processor speed, and I am running Windows Vista 32-bit Home.

I wonder what's my best option for graphics card for the next WoW expansion and also if it's worth updating my processors and advancing toward a 64-bit Windows 7 as operating system.  Or I'd better save this money for the new system altoghether. I know I'm a little behind on my computer, but one that want a bit better game WoW experience, I have not had problems with this computer.

I wonder also if just the upgrade of a Nvidia 240GT, it will be enough of an upgrade without having to change power supply and other components as I really only play a game on my PC.

Thanks in advance for any help and response (s).

You can put a lot of money on upgrades or just buy a new PC.  Your PC is 3.5 years, so you have to consider the cost to the verses of the age of the PC upgrades and a 3.5 year old motherboard.

    $70-100 power supply

    $150-200 video card

    Upgrade processor $150-250

    $100 memory

    W7 64-bit $99

If you decide to go the way of upgrade and then go with a power supply 550 watt dual PCI-E power connectors 6 and then buy the NVIDIA GT 460 with 256 memory interface.  You can always move this material to another PC, IE the motherboard on your PC goes wrong.

  • Compaq Presario V3745TU: Upgrade the hardware of Compaq Presario V3745TU

    Hello

My Macbook Pro have hardware problem and I had sent to Apple. It would take time to repair. Luckly I have an old computer for temp use. I had to format the drive and reinstall the OS, but it works still slow. So, I want to update my old computer hardware like high configuration like the logic board support.

    Current configuration are:

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66GHz

    RAM: 1.00 GB DDR II 800 + 1.00 GB DDR II 667 = 2 GB RAM

So... is this possible upgrade to the higher model CPU / faster as long as the logic board support.

Logic board supports latest version of DDR or DDR the best model for this computer and should 2 GB x 2 will make computer faster?

I'm also plan to upgrade HDD to SSD, as Samsung 850 Pro 256 GB. (Is this waste of money just to upgrade this old computer)

    Thank you!

Yes a waste of money to upgrade this old computer. Other that install 4 GB of RAM. DDR2 can be and it may take 800 speed but runs at 667. 4 gigs DDR2 laptop is maybe $35.

It may take up a T9300 CPU. Surprisingly, the maintenance manual is always available to be downloaded:
