VB 6 application on Windows 7 64 bit turns black instead of white when active control

Our VB 6 application shows a simple form with a few text controls and radio buttons.  Text controls is by default disabled (gray), but when the user changes an option button, the control is enabled if the user can enter some data into it.  On a Windows 7 64-bit workstation, the control becomes black instead of white when turned on, then the user is unable to see what they type into it.  Y at - it any resolution to this problem?  The form works very well with Windows XP and also works very well on a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit server.

Hi Mark,

Your question of Windows 7 is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the Microsoft Developer Network. Please post your question in this Forum. You can follow the link to your question:

  • HP Advisor (wharf) application for windows 7 64 bit

The application of HP Advisor for Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-Bit) can be downloaded directly from HP from the link below:

  • Gateway GT5622 Windows Vista family premium turns black then freezes and needs power close button

I had this problem once before at least a few days until I deleted my dual boot and reinstalled windows and now I'm having the problem everywhere once again have reinstalled windows at least 2 weeks without problem until today.

Entire screen turns black without mouse or keyboard, a few times it starts without a problem, but then the keyboard will not work if I put in password sometimes it will be repeated at least 5 start-up.

I even tried running in safe mode with network and it is the first time that it would work at least 3 safe mode with network start-up. When I started it upward it said that windows has recovered from a stop down and he says one of the error is a blue screen.

    Hi DawnReneesReaders,

    1. were you able to reinstall Windows Vista without any problems?

2 have you tried a Format installation?

    3. are you able to boot into safe mode with networking?

Unplug all external devices connected to your system (except the keyboard and mouse) and check if it helps.

If you are able to boot to the desktop in SafeMode with networking, then try to perform the following steps:

You can perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: Make sure that you put the computer to a Normal startup once you have completed troubleshooting.

You can check the event viewer about what is causing the problem.

    Open event viewer

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)

If you are able to boot into normal mode, visit the computer manufacturer to install the latest version of the drivers for the chipset, display, network, and other devices and see if it helps:

  • Change the appearance settings to take my windows turns blue instead of white

In windows XP, I used to be able to change the appearance settings to make my windows (ie. excel worksheet, word documents, outlook e-mail body) light blue instead of white. I can't find how to make the same change on Windows 7. Any ideas?

Here are the steps I used to do in Windows XP to make the change:
Do right click on desktop--> click on 'Properties'--> click the 'Appearance' tab--> click bottom right the 'Advanced' button--> in the "point:" drop-down box, I would choose 'Window'--> then I would change "color 1" to a shade longer than light blue "»
The same steps do not work in Windows 7, and I can't seem to find where to go to change the color.
Light blue is much easier on the eyes when you work all day in front of the computer, so I really want to find a way to make the same change in Windows 7. Thank you!

How to change the color of windows in Windows 7:

Right-click on the desktop, click Customize, click on "Window Color" at the bottom of the pane, click on "Advanced appearance... settings". ", select the list box window drop-down element, click Color 1, click other and type these digits from left and from top to lower left and then right at the top on the bottom right, click OK, click on apply.

  • Can not save 32-bit applications using Windows 7 64 - bit OS to Windows 7 libraries

When I'm in a 32-bit application can't save file to "libraries."

I navigate the 'C' drive to the location on the disc I want to save the file - the same is true for the inverse where in a 32-bit application I can't access the file in a library and attach it or open it - I have to navigate with 'C '.

For example if I'm 32-bit Lotus Notes and save an attachment - I right click Select Save under and try to go to my library of Documents and click on save, I get "the specified module could not be found.

I then navigate down into C/users/user_name/documents and settings / documents and saves them just fine. I checked the indexing settings, permissions, various other port of forums, etc... 64-bit applications work well

  • my HP Z600 (dual CPU Q5550 / Windows 7 64 bit) freezes 'stotters' with multitreading on

    Hello

    I have a HP Z600 (dual CPU Q5550 / Windows 7 64 bit / 260gtx /NVIDIA 6x4gb).

When I activate multithreading in my bios (version 4 786 v01.17) my windows

(using the application / web browsing) to become very unstable.

It will freeze (stop responding for a few seconds).

    This goes on and on.

is it because of my 1 TB Hitachi 7200 on HDD

(all of these processors and son read write data)?

I read somewhere that a raid or a SSD drive would be better than the drive in operation)?

What is my settings (such as the bios disabled value Max for CPU to 3)?

What is the HP Z600 known for this problem?

I think it's possible because of virus/malware issues.

    Thank you very much

  • Y530 Windows 7 64-bit drivers

    Hello

Recently I bought Windows 7 64 bit for my laptop Y530. When I bought my laptop it came with Vista 64-bit. Now, my problem is that when I search the driver from the Lenovo Web site section, it has only 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 and 64-bit drivers for Windows Vista. I see many other models have 64-bit Windows 7 drivers. Does this mean that Lenovo does not support this version of Windows 7 in this model?

My question is as follows... are there other models that I can use the drivers in 64 bit version of Windows 7 with my Y530? If so, what models are compatible (and everyone tried)?

Anyone know if these drivers will be available? I contacted customer support and told me to keep looking that they were there, but they obviously aren't.

    Thanks in advance!

  • HP PhotoSmart all-in-One Installer crashes in Windows 7 64 bit

Downloaded PS_AIO_02_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe to support my HP Photosmart 7280 connected to the network printer/scanner on my PC running Windows 7 64 bit HP Pavilion HPE . Installation hangs with"control...". ». Patience is not the issue; 8 hours later, it is still "control system". ».

TAKS Manager shows hpzsetup.exe HPZstub.exe and HPZwup01.exe running but never with CPU not null.

Before that, the PC had been able to use the printer on the network to print very well with the help of the default driver, but I need to use the scanner, hence the need for the installation of the complete all-in-one software.

A HP computer with an HP printer by using the latest version of the software downloaded freshly from the HP site: this should work out of the box. Someone please advise.

Problem solved, but not the way everyone likes, because we know not the root cause. I did a reboot on the PC. After that, the all-in-one installer worked well. (I hate when that happens :-)

  • The British version of the DM1 comes with Windows 7 32 bit rather than 64-bit according to the United States

I just bought a HP DM1-3100SA and noticed that it came bundled with Windows 7 32 - Bit Home Pro instead of 64-bit according to the American version (DM1Z?). As far as I can see, the hardware is identical - AMD Fusion E-350, 3 GB, 320 GB drive at 7200 RPM so I see no reason for HP to opt for the operating system 32-bit to the United Kingdom as the E-350 is a 64-bit APU.

Is it possible to re - install W7 64-bit of the recovery partition or am I stuck with W7 32-bit?

I guess that there is the option to purchase the retail copy of W7 64 Home Pro, but seems an unnecessary extra cost.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If it is still topical for you:

the ISO in Windows7 files can be downloaded from Digital River (the Microsoft online provider - see links below).

These images are free of viruses and completelyLEGA

Of course you must have/buy a valid license, but the laptop key dm1, we can re - use the key provided for Windows7 32 bit.

Watch you if you clean install Windows7 you won't not the HP tools... the question is if you really need them. But it is STRONGLY recommended to re - install HP Coolsense since it regulates the temperature/fan.

  • Cannot print to a network printer after Windows 7 64 bit upgrade

I've recently updated one of my new PC from Vista Home Premium 64-bit of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Since then, I not was able to print on my network printer, an HP Photosmart C7180 all-in-one, which is wireless on my home network. When this PC is Vista, I was able to print. Two other computers on my home network, both running XP, can access the printer on the network and printing.  This PC now on Windows 7 64-bit can find the network printer when I "Add a printer -" and I am able to complete the installation of the printer.  I downloaded and installed new drivers for the HP C7180 from the site Web HP specifically for Windows 7 64-bit, so I have the latest drivers.
I have NOT install the printer as a device shared on any of the computers, but rather want to be able to print from any of them, even if other computers are offline.
If I open and leave visible the print queue for the printer and then print a Test Page, I see the print job briefly showed the 'Impression' in the display of the print queue, but nothing ever reachs the printer. There is no message error, either during the process of adding the printer, or when sending the Test Pages, or other print jobs to the printer.
I have McAfee antivirus and firewall installed on my PC. Advanced Firewall setting for networks shows that the range of IP addresses for all my IP addresses are approved.
(I spent hours to reinstall the drivers and remove and reinstall the printer and spent a frustrating 2 additional hours with the help of HP without success. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.)
