• Cannot open VBAI 2014

  Hello

  I have been using different versions of Labview, VBAI. Then I uninstalled all the software of NOR and reinstalled the Labview 2014 and 2014 VBAI.

  Now when I try to open VBAI, it does not pass the logon process. Attached to the screenshot.

  Sometimes it gives an error on an entry point cannot be opened in nivissvc.dll. I googled and found similar situations that explains the reason for the problem is IMAQ and Windows itself. I uninstalled the drivers IMAQ and nothing has changed.

  Also, I try to reinstall VBAI, and gave no results.

  Windows format is not an option for me. So, I wonder why this phenomenon happens and how to fix this?

  Moreover, I was able to use VBAI 2014 first place before uninstalling all software of NOR.

  I removed all the software of NOR and installed VBAI and VDM 2013 this time. VBAI was once again on the start screen. And in labview Vision screws gave this kind of error:

  I had a vision system of machine ready to take choose using VBAI 2013 sp1.  Also, I use a sensor switch to trigger the camera to take pictures.

  When I type the loop running, it just won't continue to take photos no matther switch sensor triggers the camera or not.  I think it's the step that I used for the recording of the image, in the stage of registration of the image, I used picture newspaper still, but I don't want to use which is only what inspection status allows no other choice.

  So, how can I let the unit wait until he got the trigger of the alarm switch signal, and then take a picture and save the image?

  You can use the diagram States-transitions to go only in a State based on the result produced by some steps.

  First, remove the registration step of the image of the State to check with you get the image

  Press Ctrl + E to turn the main view on the state diagram.

  Right click and create a new State.

  Right click on the State to inspect and create a new transition to this new State.

  Double click on the transition to edit it.

  Choose to acquire the Image - waiting time and set the condition false, to spend in this state when there is no timeout.

  Move the default transition from that State to the final State.

  Click on the new State to select it, and then add the image registration step.

  Using a state diagram, you have programmed an inspection that will record the image when there is no timeout.

  The State-transition diagram is a powerful tool to add a logic, branching and looping of your inspection.

• Improve the performance of application VBAI

  I have a request, I wrote in VBAI and am satisfied. The problem is that it uses VBAI States for circle detection several times (via a loop). This causes a maximum of 300 ms extra use of the CPU by inspection.

  What I was asking is this: if I migrate my VBAI app to LabVIEW, how can I run it again on the target using LabVIEW RT?

  I'm running a smart camera, NI 1752, with clock 600 MHz and 512 MB RAM. Inspection rate required is 1 inspection per second minimum.

  My application inspects a conveyor which shows (0-8) units per inspection. When no unit is present, the inspection time is fine, but when there are 8 units are equal to ~ 1200 ms per iteration. I suspect it's because of me using machines to States VBAI, which introduced a large number of delays. I do not know code LabVIEW would be more effective.

  If the initial inspection took about one second per iteration. I think there is some overhead of reference that we include in these figures that show us who actually don't occur when you run in mode of inspection and this is why there are ~ 7ms General fresh extra time compared to the sum of all stages of inspection. Anyway, I made some minor changes to the step of PM and it took off about 70ms. I also tried to use a stage run LV to do all detections of circle at the time and overlays, so you don't need to make a loop and it saves another 250ms.

  Original time ~ 1000ms

  New time ~ 680ms

  I have attached the LV code used by the step execute LV and updated control. Don't forget to copy the LLB in the folder of the target at c:\User generation live if you need to make changes, update the Circles.vi multiple detect and rebuild the LLB from the project and copy LLB resulting to the target.

  Hope that helps and let me know if you just want to while LV (that would be the fastest), but maybe the modified VBAI inspection is fast enough now.

• VBAI crashes when you use NiViAsrl.dll

  I hope that's not too a noob question...

  Suddenly last week, without any warning, VBAI would no longer start.  All my versions of VBAI had the same failure.  At the launch of the splash screen would declare "Initializing Plug-ins: nnnnnnn ' then" Validation Plug-ins "... and that's it.  He would just sit there, spinning my pointer mouse until a message box proclaimed "NI Vision Builder nnnn has stopped working".  The poor man never exceeded the start screen.  It did not matter what version I ran.  I tried 3.6, SP1 2009, 2010 and 2011 SP1, all had the same symptom.  I uninstalled them.  I have them re-installed.  The same problem.

  In Control Panel, I checked the event viewer, looking to learn more about the error.  Here is a list of errors have occurred within 10 seconds of the accident:

  -Events 1 & 2 above is generated because there is no directory ".../www/national instruments/vision/vision builder I / 4.2.0 / '.

  -Event 3 is a mystery to me.  The file is there, it is 79KB and was created 24/06/2010, but I don't know what he does.

  The problem is the ini file NIvisa THAT MAX has been reading.

  I deleted the ports of

  C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\NIvisa\visaconf.ini

  Restarted

  And everything is cool.

  -That means THAT VBAI 2011 SP1 does not lock up when it starts.

  This problem has been noticed on June 29, note so when the software has been uninstalled in the report.  As part of my initial diagnosis that I took out the biggest dog I could find and remove all versions of the VBAI and all vision tools and tried to repair the drivers of devices August 2011 and tried to install the device drivers Feb 2012 and re VBAI 2011 SP1.  I must again rebuild acquisition vision (etc.).

• VBAI custom interface

  I started playing with the option of the interface in VBAI and wonder what may be a stupid question.

  I have a CVS-1456.  I'm not 100% sure, but it seems that my custom interface is only visible if I use a web browser to access the controller.  (This works)

  What I would really like is to see my custom interface to appear on the monitor of the CVS unit output.  At this point I see is the inspection image and overlays, I added.

  Is this possible?

  Hi Patrick,

  Unfortunately, what you describe is not possible. The custom user interface is intended to replace the standard Interface of Inspection that you have when you run an inspection in the mode of your computer host and control Vision Builder AI leave your host computer, or another computer on the network using a web browser.

  Currently, the only way to customize the VGA output of the CVS is to insert a Custom Overlay step. With this step, you can overlay booleans, results and even images on the image.

• Variable number of objects detected in Calculator handling VBAI

  Step of the calculator does not support tables. We have had many requests on the better table support in VBAI and we are going to solve it.

  In the meantime, you can browse the results of a step that produces berries by building a state diagram a bit more complex. Index Example.vbai measures and classify objects Example.vbai for examples on how to do it.

• Targeting of VBAI PC

  I'm trying to find out if it is possible to target a PC remotely to deploy and debug VBAI inspections. A customer has the VBAI on a PC to develop on and the run-time VBAI for PC license for use in the factory. I did research on the knowledge base. Articles like this give the vacant that you cannot and you should buy VBAI for the PC that you want to deploy and debug. Is there perhaps a way to target the remote PC?

  A point of confusion we have to clear up is the long-term objective. When talking of PC or windows-based machines (i.e. PXI controller can run Windows), VBAI can be installed on these machines and run inspcetions on this machine, but we consider not that a target and you can't target a Windows computer running VBAI. You cannot connect VBAI from a remote machine when VBAI is running on a Windows System.  You can install VBAI on computers based on Windows with a single run-time license and it allows you to perform inspections, the inspection opening in Setup mode, debug inspection and change the steps, but cannot add new steps, or vouscopiezetcollezle steps/States. You have an inspection VBAI using Ethernet/IP, TCP, or other communication mechanisms and interact with an inspection that is configured to communicate with devices remote, but you cannot connect with other VBAI to control a VBAI running Windows.

  For the objectives of the Vision (CVS, EVS, Smart Camera), you can install VBAI on these targets using a PC installed with VBAI host (i.e. similar to how MAX allows you to install the software for the targets from a distance). You cannot configure, create, edit inspections on the target itself... you need to connect to a target to a host running the same version of the VBAI and use VBAI Windows to control, configure, perform inspections on the target. You have configured on the target, then start inspection whenever the target is restarted, it starts a specific inspection or you can configure product selection so the inspection could change based on signals of material or the form of TCP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus communication, etc.. If you have just the run-time license on the host computer, the same rules above apply (you can start/stop the inspections, modify steps, debug, but you cannot create new metrics). No VBAI license is required for the target, when you buy a target, you can install VBAI and run inspections without the need of additional licenses for the target. You can also use a user interface customized for the control interface and activate the web server on the target in order to open a web page on any machine on the same network as the target view and control of the custom interface inspection running on the target of a web page. Alternatively, you can use the activeX control to open a connection to a remote target (CVS, EVS or Smart Camera) or a local VBAI (must be installed locally VBAI). Using the ActiveX control, you can load controls, inspections of power, get inspection results/images, etc, but you can expand or change inspections using the activeX control.

I am wanting to use the enclosed code as part of a user interface in VBAI, as to count motor pulses to determine the rate online camera all the time. However with the dependency problems, I'm not sure how to apply it. Also I looked at using I/O read/write (daqmx) in VBAI and being a beginner I'm looking for some ideas on implementing I / O's

  Try the VI IMAQ number of 2 objects in motion and Vision > visionique > count and measure objects palette.

  If that is not exactly what you want, you can always choose to pass inspection VBAI to LabVIEW (Tools > Inspection migrate for LabVIEW of VBAI) and look at the generated code. It will produce exactly the same results as in VBAI. The only thing is that the generated code is complex.

  II was a little challenging to find out what version of LabVIEW has been necessary to develop customized Vision Builder AI 2012 plugins, I found it by starting the installer, LabVIEW 2011 (but I wish I could find this information in the Readme of Vision Builder AI 2012).

  Now my question is: is it possible to use LabVIEW 2011 SP1 to develop plugins for Vision Builder AI 2012?

  I turns out LV 2011 sp1 is just an update of 2011 and so LV2011 SP1 can be used to develop customized Vision Builder AI 2012 plugins.

  I try to use the smart camera, Ni 177 X series to work on a project and when I finished my request on VBAI and tried to migrate in labview, something has gone wrong.

  There is another reason, I advise to use the API. If you migrate to LV, you need all the good versions of LV, RT, Vision, etc If you use the API, you will not have to change anything on your target and you can use any version of LV, you have (assuming that the API is installed in this version of LV). Write code LV works on Windows, but control the VBAI engine on your target and get results and images. To get your Smart Camera back in good condition, VBAI open, select your target in the splash screen, and there should be a button 'Install Software'. When you click on it, make sure you do NOT check the box to reformat your target, otherwise you will lose any control that you wrote. Unless there is a very good reason not to use the API, it seems that this option will be much easier for you.

  There are three different Modules in National Instruments Vision:

  1. Vision Development (VDM) module
  2. Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI)
  3. Vision acquisition software (SAV)

  You can perform a basic image acquisition, display and record requests with just the drivers included in the Service, but for any transformation or manipulation, you will need VBAI or VDM and more to GO.   To see your camera in LabVIEW, I recommend using one of the examples to start shopping. In LabVIEW so you navigate to help > find examples > Input and Output material > IMAQ. You will find lots of well documented examples to help you get started. In addition, the 'Vision and Motion' that you have installed are not a Toolbox. It is a collection of functions that move depending on which driver you have installed.

• 2012 LabVIEW Eval/training MVC tutorial must IMAQ but Vision must LV 2011 installed in order to install.

  I'm using LabVIEW 2012 evaluation of training mode in order to find a location using LabVIEW. A MVC tutorial looks like a very good example and I can open the first VI, Starter.vi of MVC, but when I try to open the project which includes screws to MVC OOP advanced with controls and Factory.vi, it must IMAQ live but when I try to install Vision in order to get the screws IMAQ, it needs LV 2011 installed in order to install the Vision and will not proceed with the installation of Vision/IMAQ.

  After searching the site OR days to get responses LVOOP I found this tutorial that could be useful, if it's actually working.

  Setup of Vision should probably work with 2012, but the installer was not setup to work with 2011 or later.

  In addition, I have not found a good description of what the MVC "framework" is all about.

  I used LabVIEW since the beginning of the 1990s, but not from my NI Suite which included LV 8 and LVOOP about 2007. I desperately need a step by step "how-to and why ' for LVOOP, ACTOR, etc. I'm through the core I and Core II manual of training for certification, but it needed LabVIEW work as soon as POSSIBLE and do not have the $2,500 to upgrade my NI Suite or $10,000 for training or time to complete certification now.

  First, you must determine what version of LabVIEW, you: 2011, 2011 SP1, 2012, 2012 SP1. You can find this by opening LabVIEW and navigate using-> on LabVIEW...

  About MVC, I'm no expert, but you should know what a MVC is and understand LabVIEW and characteristics before you dive into this example of MVC in LabVIEW.   Vision Builder HAVE 2009 SP1 should release in the coming weeks and it will fix this problem. In the next version it will allow you to use screws that have been registered for the previous a more recent version of LV when you register for precedent it creates a VI that is compatible with the LV 8.5, but it has not been compiled in LV 8.5 yet. Vision Builder AI 2009 SP1 will compile now screw for you (if you choose to have the Vision Builder AI fix the problem for you), which means that it will support elderly live, recorded for other operating systems and screws not compiled to the correct operating system (i.e. If you use a smart camera, you won't need to compile the VI for VxWorks more) , and screws saved for a previous one. This applies to the step of the custom user interface and the step run a LabVIEW VI.
