vCenter 5.5 Installation stops after SSO

Just downloaded a copy of eval for vCenter 5.5 and when I try to do a simple installation nothing happens after AUTHENTICATION is complete. I tried this on 2012 and 2008 R2. I have to manually install the rest of the components (inventory, vCenter, web). In vCenter 5.1 everything I had to do is hit the facility, the Simple installation menu button and everything worked very well. Is this a known issue? already?

    We use Vcenter server 5.0. In recent days, we have observed that vcenter service will automatically stops after a while and cause the backup fails.

    We investigated the event viewer on this and found a sql transaction log event is full.

    In this case, everything you are breast-feeding to BMPS, it is simply not what it expects. Most likely, your directory structure is incorrect (for example indexes and the config in different directories) or you download a project of Cordova.

  • CA-signed SSL certificates on vCenter 5.1 installation (server or device)

    I recently updated my 5.0 to 5.1 ESXi ESXi hosts and they all kept CA-signed SSL certificates that I installed previously. I did a new install of vCenter 5.1 server where the box even ran SSO, inventory, vCenter Server and Manager Update Services. After installing, everything worked perfectly except that none of the vCenter services used my CA-signed SSL certificate - only 5.1 ESXi hosts had these.

    So, I followed the instructions in replacing default vCenter 5.1 and ESXi certificates PDF found at http://www.vmware.com/resources/techresources/10318. The document is terrible. For example, page 10 lists the locations by three default certificates SSL on Windows 2008. None of these paths are correct. The first a typo of extra space between "Program" and "Data" and the other two say "Program Files" when they should have been "ProgramData". This is just the beginning of the problems.

    If you follow the instructions to the letter, you'll break vCenter. I got frustrated and thought I'd give the vCenter 5.1 device a shot. With regard to the Certificates SSL signed by CA, it was worse. The vCenter 5.1 device can even automatically generate a new SSL certificate if you change the host name (turn on generation auto-certificat, change of hostname and restart). It gives an error 653 during the boot process and keeps the original of the certificate. Even bother trying the steps on page 18 of the above-mentioned guide - you will get just the same mistake 653.

    It seems to me that VMware did not all tests around the CA-signed SSL certificate on vCenter 5.1 installation. It's amazing to me that the installation of the SSL certificate is so tedious for ESXi and vCenter when vShield Manager 5.1 has a very simple process that works well (and is similar to the installation procedure for Certificate SSL on the DRAC, ASR, breeding various firewalls, etc.).

    I did a lot of research on Google and found various articles on the installation of the SSL certificate, but most were based on GA pre - 5.1 products. If you have any installation of certificates SSL CA-signed success with vCenter Server or device 5.1 GA, let me know how you got around some of these issues. Please indicate if your vCenter Server or device will run on a 5.1 GA ESXi host as well. Please do not answer about vCenter 5.0 - I had no problem with SSL certificates (other than it was more painful to be).

I checked to make sure "Module of Windows Installer Service" is in "manual mode". I tried a clean boot and also a restoration of systems without success. I erased the history and cookies.     There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

  • Remote Desktop connects then stops after a few seconds

    I have two laptops to Windows 7.  We run OpenVPN which I will refer to the VPN server.  The other is the Client and with me on trips.  Open VPN is configured on the Client and the VPN server, and I can connect from inside and outside the network without any problems.  I also have an Open VPN Client with another port configured on a server QNAS.  I can connect without any problems.

    I want to run the OpenVPN server on one VLAN separated to prevent users to see my internal network and only sees another NAS.  I also use the VPN to offer our few users (3) the ability to connect and use my static IP address.

    I have a router TP-Link-ER-6120.  I can configure the three ports to run in 3 separate VLANS.  When I configure the VPN server works on my regular network to exploit the VLAN1 and VLAN2, I can always connect to OpenVPN and all I want to do works (NAS and Internet access with my static IP).  However, when I try to establish a Session to the VPN server computer remote desktop, I get the login and enter my user name and password.  I see the remote desktop window, open and usually see the remote desktop wallpaper and loading the desktop icons.  Then it crashes.  If he does until I can see the desktop, it automatically attempts to reconnect.  If she makes it that far, it stops with a window that says Remote Desktop connection has been disconnected.

    Is it maybe a configuration problem on the side of the router?  Installation side route is a very simple graphic interface.  I configured for the VPN service roads and they remain in place (one for the QNAS) and one for the OpenVPN server.  I set up a static route (virtual server) for port 3389 go directly to the IP address of the VPN server, but that did nothing.

    Miss me probably something simple, but it launched my ass for weeks now.

    The file I'm trying to install is an exe file (so the SIG file is embedded in the exe file).

    I tried the option "Run As Administrator" and it did not work.  However, you gave me an idea that has provided a work around that allowed me to install the program.

    Once this dialog box is displayed with all the control switches, rather than press 'OK', I left on the screen and went in the 'temp' folder and find the MSI program I tried to install (I cross referenced the timestamp of when I tried to install it to find).

    Once I found the updated file, I clicked it, and he proceeded to install the program... I have not had any other problems with the installation.

    So, there's something wrong with the way that the exe file have been created and how the files extracted from the msi file (these are files of Intel and Lenovo - driver updates - so I think they do these things) or there is a problem with Windows Installer.

    For now, at least, I have a work around I use until I find a solution to this problem of permanent

  • Adobe Acrobat stops after a few seconds

    Recently, some of our users are problems where Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11.0.16) stops after having been open for a few seconds.

    OS: Windows 8.1

    What I tried:

    • Removal tool including vacuuming (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs ) can clean installation
    • Removal and remove manually the remaining records in C:\User\username\appdata\roaming, local and locallow, removing everything related to Adobe acrobat form the HKLM\Software and HKCU\software... then clean install
    • Adobe running with administrator privileges and it runs under a different user account
    • Removing and installing a version previous (11.0.05), which had the same stop to unextected
    • Removed the preferences as described here How to reset preference settings in Acrobat format.  (Note that he had no new folder preferences created after moving the former again and start Acrobat)

    So far, I have still no idea why this happens and how to solve it. I hope you can help.
