VCenter Server disconnects guests after 1-2 minutes

Had a strange little problem going on because all my 4 ESXi (not upgraded to U1 yet) switching hosts offshore to put on a new UPS system - if I connect it with VI client to our server Vcenter (Win 2003, VCenter 4) not yet upgraded to U1 consistantly unplug all 3 hosts at the same time after 1-2 minutes.

Network connectivity is very good between the VCenter server and hosts, if I connect directly to one of the hosts he will stay connected properly.

Impossible to find errors in case the viewer connects

Ideas - I have a ticket open with Vmware support, but am struggling to get an answer at the moment.

Thank you very much

Well follow these steps:

1. check vCenter manage IP

  • Hosts in vCenter then unplug it after about 2 minutes

I have an environment vCenter 4.1 with 6 all current hosts to run ESXi 4.1 and everything is good.  I bought additional licenses (6 existing are Enterprise Plus and I bought 2 Enterprise license) and I try to add 2 additional guests.  One of the new servers is an existing server running ESXi 4.0 and other new server is a new server and I installed U1 4.1 on it.  Both servers are HP DL360s, existing is a G6 and the new is a G7.

I first tried to add the new server.  I connects well, installs the agent and looks good for about 2 minutes and headed towards does not.  I can click on Connect and it connects upward for another 2 minutes and then goes back to does not.

I looked at the newspapers but saw nothing obvious but which does not say much - I'm not well versed in looking at the newspapers and I can't be looking good.  To decide on what to look for would be appreciated.  Then I upgrade vCenter 4.1 U1 and get the same results.  Next thing I tried was to add the existing (running ESXi 4.0) server, and it includes the same way.

These 2 servers, I am trying to add are in another network than my other servers ESXi 6 but in the same physical location.  The vCenter box is in the same network as my 6 hosts operation.  I had my network guy open everythng between 2 servers ESXi, what I'm trying to add the vCenter box and still the same result, even if I still suspect a network problem.  I know connectivity is there because I can add the host and two ways to ping.

Here is a run down of what's different on 2 new guests who I am trying to add: in the network segment are different as vCenter, integrated ESXi (6 others have local hard drives,) and the licenses are at different levels (although I can't imagine has nothing to do with it).

Any ideas or help would be most appreciated.

    Of the Installation Guide:

902 the default port used by the vCenter Server system to send data to managed hosts. Managed hosts
also send a regular heartbeat on port UDP 902 the vCenter Server system. This port should not be
blocked by the firewall between the server and the hosts or guests.

If this port is not open on UDP, you see the exact thing you encounter. Who give a shot.

  • VMware vCenter Server service stops after 1 hour

I'm having a problem with my server vCenter 4.0. Less than an hour of a reboot, the VMware VirtualCenter Server service stops. If I restart it... It works for about an hour, then stops again. The following event is logged in the system event log. The VMware VirtualCenter Server service stopped with the error service special 2 (0x2).

I'm SQL2005 Express is using a virtual machine, windows 2003 Std, 1vCPU, 4 Gb RAM Tomcat and SQL use a lot of memory.

It is a similar problem to the responces you find on google - but not the same thing. My service will stop about an hour after a reboot clean and efficient.

    Ideas?

I see that you have conveniently left a crucial part of the document...

The part where is says this (pg 74).

Base Group of 2005Express of Microsoft SQL Server that you can use for small deployments of virtual hosts up to 5 and 50 machines. If the machine has Microsoft SQL Native Client is installed, remove it before installing

vCenter Server with the cluster database.

If the machine has MSXML Core Services 6.0 installed, remove it before installing

vCenter Server with the cluster database. If you are unable to delete using the

Add or remove programs, use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. See

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968749.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for Microsoft Windows XP, apply MDAC 2.8 SP1 to the client. Use the native SQL

So yes, you have exceeded your environment.  Still doesn't tell me if you looked at the SQL Express newspapers, because I'm sure that's the problem.

  • ESXi/ESX host disconnects vcenter Server 60 seconds after the connection

    Hello guys,.

I recently made some changes to my VMware Lab.

I'm under vCenter 5.1 with several hosts of ESXi 5.1.  My vCenter ran on one server ESXi 5.1 until I recently migrated there in a window of Windows 8 running VMware Workstation 9.   The vCenter is running normally and I am able to add hosts in stock, but they disconnect after approximately 60 to 90 seconds.  I believe that this issue is that the heart beats that are sent by the host do not reach the vCenter (port 902), I think that it is similar to the issue discussed in the following KB:http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1029919

    Here are my questions:

    1. the article describes download wireshark and run scripts.  Is there an easier away from do?  I'm literally just checking this single port of the ESXi host, there is no equivalent for telnet from an ESXi host?

2 VMware Workstation 9 block ports or run its own firewall any?  Since this vCenter worked perfectly when running on the host ESXi 5.1 we know this isn't a firewall on the virtual computer problem, I have also checked the Windows 8 machine running VMware workstation and have verified that the windows firewall is disabled.  Windows firewall is not the issue.

    Thank you

    Duncan.

Just a quick question. A fact change of IP address of the server vCenter with migration of VMware Workstation? Maybe http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1008030 is related to the question!

  • How update you the server vCenter Server?

I have a virtual machine in my vSphere environment running Windows Server 2008 R2 that has update manager installed on it and my vCenter Server installation.  After scanning it with the Update Manager, it showed it needed to upgrade VMware tools to match the host and also to modernize hardware virtual machine to correspond also to the host.  I've improved the tools successfully, but when I tried to restore the VM for the hardware, I got the following error message:

"VM [VM name] has vSphere VMware Update Manager or VMware vCenter Server is installed.  This virtual machine will be ignored for the scan and sanitation. »

So, how can I get around this because I use this machine virtual also patch/update the other hosts/VMs and this is my installation vCenter?

Yes, it must be turned off. So your only option in this case is to connect to the host, Vcenter, and then right click to upgrade.  Unfortunately, this is your only option

  • disconnect hosts to vCenter Server 5.1.0 Build 947673 and appear as does not not after 45 seconds (always)

I have a very strange installation, it has been stable for 6 months, I don't know if it's conciendence after the implementation of POS, but now after 45 seconds, the hosts to build 799733 ESXi 5.1.0 disconnect from vCenter Server 5.1.0 build 947673 and appear as does not.

I can right-click on each host and deliver a Connect and servers are re-connected and then after 45 seconds, appear as the not responding again.

The vCenter is a virtual machine, on the cluster of two hosts, use VMXNET3 interface, fully patched.

Since the vCenter server at the time of her disconnects or does not, I do not see timeouts ping to vCenter VM guests hosts, I can also connect directly to the ESXi servers with vSphere Client and there, no problem, I still connected.

DNS is correct, default gateway is correct, used data base is installed by default with vCenter (simple installation), SQL Express, database is not full or has reached its limit.

nothing to the Windows event log.

    things tried

    1 rebooted ESXi hosts

    2. restart network management officers

3 upgrade vCenter Server to build build 947673

    4 restarted vCenter Server

    5. stop all virtual machines, except vCenter Server including POS.

    is already done guest!

    Hello

1 - is the home server that is unplug or is it the client?

    2. what happens when you do an ipconfig / renew? Which will renew the connection?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if they help to resolve the issue.

Method 1: Try to perform the boot minimum troubleshooting to find the root cause of the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

  • Cannot connect to the vcenter until 10 minutes after the vcenter server computer starts

I get the unable to connect to remote server message in vsphere client when I try to connect the server vcenter. However if I wait more than 10 minutes, I can properly connect to the vcenter server.

Is there something wrong with it?

And I wonder if the competent services to process the requests of connection on the vcenter server are not started immediately from the start?

Where is installed your database? On the same box of vCenter server? If so, change the other boot option that delayed may not work because your vCenter will try to start before the database is online.

  • VSphere Web client and client heavy cannot connect to Vcenter server 5.5, web client fails with 2032 error before the connection, then the work after one minutes ferw.

    Hi all

I really need help here.  I have a new installation of Esxi5.5 and installed the server vcenter build 5.5.0.5201 device 1476389.

I have host files properly configured for DNS and Server 2008 R2 running that I use to connect with the client or web client heavy.

Initially, I get an error with the web client to connect, he began to paint Vmware and when it comes to 'r' in the name it fails with #2032, so I can no longer

access the page at all, he says: connection refused for the page. If I wait a while I can connect again.

heavy client vSphere fails at this time as well.  However, I cannot communicate directly with Vsphere client to server esxi host and it works all the time.

There seems to be a problem with the device of vcenter server because the thick client fails, and does not open a backup program using vcenter server

    inventory when this happened.

Please help, it drives me crazy...

    Hello

Since I found the solution to the problem of connecting to the device of vcenter.  It is a conflict of IP address on the network.  There was a machine with the same IP address virtuall

as the vcenter server.  This caused intermittent problems etc.. Why web client would still work if I have the vmware client open I do not know

so thank you for your help.

  • The upgrade of our guests 5.0 ESXi and vCenter Server 5 and 5.5 Enterprise Plus

We are the 4 upgrade hosts of ESXi 5 to 5.5

We add 4 more guests with own ESXi 5.5 installed

We are also upgrading our vCS 5 in the vCSA 5.5

    Using Enterprise + licenses

Question: I'm trying to understand the best way to achieve this transition.  4 guests run about 100 virtual machines and 4 guests we add are clean slates.

That's what I think... Please help me guys

    1. once the 4 new hosts are installed in the Datacenter clean running ESXi 5.5 I will deploy the vCSA ovf and register 4 guests with the Linux-based device.

    2. now, I have 4 new 5.5 ESXi hosts registered and running with vCSA 5.5 but I still have my old 4 guests with ESXi 5 and registered to the old vCS about 100 virtual machines running WIndows

    3. at this point I think stop on my older hosts 4 virtual machines and remove them from the vCenter Server inventory Windows and everything just their registration with the new vCSA

    4. Will be all my virtual machines or transferred with the hosts if I close them and put the hosts in maintenance mode?

    5. now, I should have all 8 guests registered with my new vCSA.  But the original 4 hosts have yet to be upgraded to ESXi 5.5

6 move 100 virtual machines to the new 4 hosts running ESXi 5.5 and upgraded the 4 former hosts.

    7. now, I should have 8 guests with ESXi 5.5 using the vCSA

    See you soon!

    Pretty much.

To make things easier, you can deploy the EGGS for vCSA in your current vCenter (if I remember correctly import an OVA using vCenter allows you to set certain options that should be set to the vCSA shell). After making sure that the vCSA online & configured, you can then install ESXi on all your new hosts, add them to a cluster in the vCSA and put a few trials of virtual machines on there to confirm the network setting is configured correctly. Once it's done (and assuming that the old and the new hosts use the same shared storage) you can stop the vCSA, remove it stock Windows vCS, please write it on one of your new hosts and turn on. You have now two environments (5.0 and 5.5). Next if you disconnect a host from 5.0 vCS (with virtual machines running on it), you can then connect it to the vCSA 5.5. Assuming that the vSwitchs standard networking of the exchanges that are the same name in both environments, you now can vMotion VMs between host 5.0 and 5.5 cluster. At this time, you can repeat with all remaining hosts until everything has been made the transition without service interruption. This will leave a lot of old objects in your old 5.0 vCS, but if that is getting trashed it isn't a big deal.

  • MapleStory disconnects after about 2 minutes in Windows 8, no problems with Windows 7

I just got a new laptop with Windows 8 on it. The specs are well above what is needed for the game, which shouldn't be a problem. I am able to boot and log in the game, but after about two minutes, it disconnects, gives me an error message saying: "unable to connect to the game server. Please try again later. "The window closes so saying me that I was disconnected. The game works perfectly fine on my old laptop, which is running Windows 7 and has worse characteristics.

I tried to run in compatibility mode, but get a different error after blackcipher loads, but before loading the game, saying: "the instruction at 0 x 00649243 referenced memory at 0 x 05055215. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program. »
I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find solutions.
If it helps, my computer is a dv7 HP Envy with an Intel i5, 8 GB of RAM and a 2 GB nvidia geforce GT graphics card.
If anyone knows a solution to make it work, it would be most appreciated. It seems that a few other people have the same problems, but others with Windows 8 have no problem, so I hope that maybe it's just a setting I need to change.

    Hi Sannesteenhuis,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Please answer these questions to better understand the issue.

    1. Have you tried the steps by Pinaki displayed? If Yes, then what is the result?
    2. Have you tried measures to solve this problem?

I suggest refer you to the following procedure to copy the Event Viewer logs.

To view the events in the Event Viewer Application log:
    1. press the key Windows + X key and then click on Control Panel.
    2. double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.

NOTE: Alternatively, you can start Event Viewer by starting the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) program that contains the snap observer of events.
    3. Click to expand Event Viewer (if it is not already expanded).
    4. click on Application.

The events that are logged in the application log are displayed in the right pane.
    5. to view more details about a specific event, double-click the event that you want to display.
    6. to copy the details of the event, click the copy button, open a new document using the program in which you want to paste the event (for example, Microsoft Word) and then click on paste on the Edit menu.

Also suggest you try to install the game in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Make the programs more compatible with this version of Windows

    Problem:

    2013-12 - T 03, 16: 09:17.353 - 05:00 [info 09168 "Default"] forcing of VMware VirtualCenter stop now

I pulled the virtual machine in a laboratory and all network problems that would be removed to isolate.  Now the VCENTER is shouting at this topic it can't find one of its guests in the vdxp log, but that shouldn't matter.  All Services have been changed for local accounts.  All network and ODBC parameters are able to see the server... aka the server can see.  I didn't remove any software or drivers for the VM (techniques it is my third P2V to the same server for testing reasons)... And the only thing that won't start is always VCENTER SERVER... SSO is started, SQL is launched...

Also everything remained the same on the virtual machine (DNS, IP, NAME etc etc). Stop the physical and start-up it upward don't show any problems.  Only when its summer P2V would have done that themselves.

I can't get this number.  Need help.

    Thoughts?

    Thank you

    BostonTechGuy

In this case, we have finished rebuilding the vCenter and all migrate on.  Wish had better put up-to-date, but ultimately, it's what has been done.

    Thank you

  • vCenter Server 5 added hosts after short time of State "not responding".

    Hello

I did a test of the configuration with ESX5 a vCenter Server 5 device.

I could add a host, but after a short period of time (a few minutes) host all become the status "not responding".

restarting the management agents fix for a short period only.

directly linking hosts vSphere Client works very well.

    any suggestion?

    Kind regards

    Ivo
