vCloud connector configuration

Try to get vcloud connector plugin configured, seems simple enough, but can't seem to add my vCloud Director cloud.  Get "impossible for < URL > connection of the clouds.   I guess the cloud name is generic and cloud url must point to my VCD Url, but it should include a string Org or can the location of the system at a higher level. I couldn't get either to work and can not find any docs so appreciate the pointers.  Thank you - ken s.

Here is the User Guide:

http://www.VMware.com/PDF/vcc_10_usersguide.PDF

You can also access it and other useful information such as articles Release Notes & KB on the right side of the product download page:

http://downloads.VMware.com/d/details/VCCP/ZHcqYnRkZXdiZCpldwis

To directly answer your questions:

-Cloud name is what you want

-Cloud URL is the URL that you use regularly to access your vCloud from the browser

If the vCloud uses a valid SSL, do not uncheck the 'Ignore SSL certificate' option in the dialog box add clouds.

If the vCloud is outside your firewall, you must use proxy to connect to it. Haven't you set up that already?

Thank you.

  • vCloud connector - cannot copy VAPP vCloud Director to vSphere

    Evening,

    Try to copy a paralytic to vCloud Director on vCenter 5.5 5.6 using vCloud connector 2.7.

    The scenario:

    -vCloud Director fully configured with one Org, an Org vDC and a catalog.

    -The catalog is entirely filled, shared and published.

    -Org and catalog are configured to allow the publication to external organizations;

    -vCenter and vCloud Director have been added to vCloud connector via vSphere Client plug-ins;

    -vCloud plug connector is able to see the entire structures of vSphere and vCD (org records, catalogs, vApps, models, etc.).

    Reproduce the error:

    -Using the vSphere Client, click on the Org vCD;

    -Go to the tab vApps.

    -Select a VAPP off engine;

    -Click on copy.

    -Select Catalog (it is marked as shared and, curiously, unpublished);

    -Select vCenter as the target;

    -Select the clusters, folders, data store, formatting the drive and so on;

    -Power On TIME after deploying (or not, does not matter);

    -Validate (managed);

    -Finishing.

    Task starts and fails in a minute (or less) with the following message:

    "Export OVF has failed. Failure when copying data to the clouds: https://< vcloud_director_fqdn >. Reason: [0e65fbc1-4e04-4924-ae06-c4377dfc97af] there is no catalog in the organization. »

    Looks as vCloud connector, for some reason, is unable to locate the catalog during deployment (although it may be perfectly visible during the Copy Wizard and in his inventory).

    I tried searching for it and can't find anything similar to this error.

    Maybe it s a vCD configuration error, but how would be? I ve already selected all types of option to allow editing of catalogue and sharing, and nothing has changed.

    I published also successfully catalog VCDs to vCloud connector content library, so nothing else makes sense to me.

    Solved.

    Created a new catalog and IS NOT published. Used for the copy. Went well.

  • vCloud connector 2.5 - copy the model of vSphere to vCloud Director fails

    Hi all

    I'm trying to make a copy of the model of the private Cloud for vSphere (e.g. my instance of vCenter lab) the vCloud Director private cloud (my instance vCD lab, which is deployed and registered with the same instance of vCenter mentioned above) with vCloud connector 2.5.

    I have deployed the server component of vCC, configured and deployed two nodes of vCC - a to connect to vCenter for private cloud config vSphere and another to connect to the vCloud Director org for the basic cloud vCD config private. Moreover, the vCloud Director is registered to the same instance of vCenter which is used for vSphere cloud.

    I then tried to open a copy of the model from the vSphere cloud node to the node of vCD. The task to export the OVF template will start, and the task of SCR plugin will also display the copy task. This vCD instance also model any TIME if you go to the properties of the VDC organization selected during the SCR copy Wizard.

    After about 18%, the percentage remains stuck there for a little bit before the 'Export OVF Template"task fails with"Operation timed out ". After that, the task indicated in the vCC plugin will fail also later with (OVF Export failed. Null message) and the import of VAPP model in vCD job will fail also - VAPP failure will take upward of space inside the affected storage however profile until I have manually remove the failing through vCD VAPP model object.

    Anyone else having this problem? I've seen this problem on both environments so far: vCenter 5.1 update 1 with vCD 5.1.2 and vCenter 5.5 with vCD 5.5. If the problem seems to be specific to the version of vSphere. The logs generated by server SCR bee all that useful for me to understand what went wrong did not.

    I have not tried.  Of course in my setup, my NŒUD is vCloud with a NAT address and which works very well.  It is the SCR is the issue because it needs access to vCenter Server.  You can try to use an external live... or just move right in vCenter

    This is most likely a problem with the settings of Internet Explorer.

  • vCloud connector 2.5 - no route to host

    Greetings,

    When the vCenter begins to export the model it fails with 'export OVF failed. No route to the host.

    Connector nodes and servers of connectors are all on the same vlan (stretched between two sites). Everything is 'UP' to vCloud Connector Server, and both nodes have successfully registered their respective vCenter and vCloud Director.

    All nodes of connector and server can ping in all directions and solve that everything involved.

    I tried Google, but did not find everything about this error and vCloud connector.

    Any suggestions would be welcome :-)

    One side is vCloud Director, the other side Server vCenter Server.

    The problem was that on one side esxi hosts have not access to speak directly to the SCR node.

  • Invalid password error on Webex Cloud Connector

    Hello

    I talked with support, but it has been a slow process, hoping that someone encountered the same issue.

    I'm cloud webex connector configuration.  When you connect to the charger, I get an error "invalid password." The user name and password are correct.

    One of my first thoughts was that the API must be activated within webex - but have not received confirmation.

    Any ideas on that?

    Thank you

    I have a few other questions here waiting for a response from WebEx, but at this point, it seems the only option for sites using SSO would use the admin account.  I hope that they get the support of this in their API soon.

  • How does the cloud at the end connector?

    Hello world

    As I am new to cloud connectors, I am curious to know how to work the connectors.

    Can someone help me understand how step of connector (generator program) cloud called the custom logic written to external action. I think it should create a configuration page that is connected to the cloud connector step, where the identification information, field mapping etc. are configured. I guess that custom logic is not included in the Configuration page.

    What to do next! This information does get stored in the external database and based on the stage builder instancename and unique program ID these configurations are retrieved.

    Hit the button "configure" step of Cloud connector also, opens the URL that is configured in the Cloud Connector Manager. Thus, when the stream of contacts through this stage how they get processed? While the configuration page is configured in the step, but not the URL of the custom logic.

    Thank you

    Shashank Sharma

    Hello Shashank,

    Here is the way that they work frame connector Cloud:

    1. the user has implemented a program Builder program that contains a step of Cloud Connector.

    2. the user configures the step using the Configuration screen for your connector (that you provide).  Seebuilding Cloud connectors: Configuring Page for more details on this.

    3. once Setup is complete, members begin to flow into the configuration step, where they are waiting for your application to 'interrogate' in and find them.

    4. when members are found, your application then treats and marks them as being completed.

    5. when members of the batch are processed, they move to the next step in the program.

    Does make sense?

  • OIM11gR2ps2 how to use OID - 11.1.1.6 Connector for updating a user that has been created through LDAPsync?

    Hello

    I have two connectors configuration, a database connector generic to an Oracle database that the provisions of a user account (it works fine). The second connector, I am still getting set up properly is a LDAP connector specifically OID - 11.1.1.6.0.

    Use case:

    A user creates an account through automatic recording and is created simultaneously in OUD ldap with the johnDoe1 username. johnDoe1 connects in IOM and asks an instance of application called DBAccount. They fill out the application in all there information (user ID, fname, lname, phone, address, title, etc.). Once they support demand goes through the necessary approvals and after that it's approved successfully the info is put in service to the database. Once this operation has been successful, I would like to provision an update a users ldap entry that was created in the custom attribute ldapsync is called OUDappusername, this attribute is an attribute with value mutli because if demand for the other apps, they will be updated in the OUD aswell. This OUDappusername will be generated by an event handler or to pre-populate the plugin and the format will be "app |" user name' where app is the app they ask and User_name is the user name they use to connect to the IOM, for example "DBAccount". johnDoe1. If they keep asking other apps they will be updated in the OUDappusername so that they may have DBAccount | johnDoe1 and ask another application called app2, then they will also have app2 | johnDoe1 and so on.

    Is this possible with the connector and how do I set it up to users update rather than set up a new account in the OUD?

    The question:

    I currently have the configuration of connector so whenever I have set up a user creates a new user rather than allow me to simply update a user. It is possible to configure the connector for updating existing users is born through ldapsync, rather than those created through the app instance configuration. I have found no documentation on that.

    Thanks in advance,

    J

    Edit #1 - I changed the wording and added more details.

    Edit #2 - I reworded my question to be more specific and focus on a single issue and changed the title to be more specific.

    Hello

    I just wanted to post what we found the answer. We did not use the connector, but what we did was we created a custom, adapter, which is a small and associated java class then new task in the process definition for the database resource in the console design and we made calls to jndi for the ldap Protocol to update this attribute multivalue. It was very quick and easy and could be tested before the implementation of the IOM. Thanks again for all the help and talk me through the procedures.

    Thank you

  • On-site application move to vCloud Air

    Hello

    Is it possible to move applications easily on site, VM or vApps to vCloud Air?

    Kind regards

    BA

    Absolutely, the benefits of vCloud Air include compatibility and portability of bidirectional load with vSphere environments.   With our tool, vCloud connector, users can easily migrate VMS and vAPPs to vCloud Air and then back if so chosen.

  • Availability of vSphere connector

    Hi all

    any news on when the connector will support On Demand?

    Frustrating, I have now managed to export test VM to go on-site to AWS, but cannot do it with the VCloud Air connector only supports VCHS 'classic' at the moment. I even found the documentation a little lacking in manufacturing it is clear that this lack of functionality exists.

    Thank you, Dave.

    Hello

    Massimo is correct re: vSphere Client plug-ins, but they were questions about vCloud connector? It is the tool that allows you to migrate workloads between vSphere and the vCloud environments. vCloud connector works with OnDemand so the service subscription.

    There is a slight difference in the way to access the CVC provided by Air of vCloud node with both services, but that's all. Otherwise, they work the same. Details are described here: vCloud connector for vCloud Air Documentation

    Thank you

  • Activation code - connector - will

    I'm a COP of VMware workspace. I downloaded and installed workspace Horizon devices. I've done the configuration via the Configurator - going. Everything was fine.

    When I activated the ThinApp module, I found a bug in the configuration: I added in the connector - goes, the path to the directory of ThinApp packages, then I changed the path, he held me old packages.

    So I decided to "reset" the configuration of connector - goes.

    The problem is that, it asks me to enter the "activation code"... I read the docs of VMware, and it is not clear to me...

    Can you help me?

    Stéphane.

    Proceeded to change the path for the package ThinApp is documented in

    http://pubs.VMware.com/horizon-workspace-15/topic/com.VMware.ICbase/PDF/horizon_workspace_15_install.PDF

    section change the ThinApp, page 48 share folder.

    Reset Connector configuration is not recommended, therefore is not documented.

    Since you have already done this, you should go to your page to admin Workspace to the settings-> page of the identity providers.  If you have any problem connect (due to configuration of the connector issues), use of the user admin not AD - username is admin and password is one that you have set during installation of the workspace (identical to the root password).  On the identity page providers to create a new identity provider (automatic type) and you will get an activation code for the connector. After that delete record of the old connector in the list of the identity providers.

  • IOM: Reconciliation with the Tables of database applications connector

    Hello!

    I am using the Application Connector 9.1.0.5.0 database Tables in OIM 11 g to reconcile the accounts of my target system: MySQL 5.1.37. I followed the steps described in the guide of the connector to create and set up and configure my system target as a reliable source.

    The problem is that user accounts are not created in IOM, however, I know the Connector retrieves the information of every user because I can see it in the log messages generated when I run the reconciliation work, so I supossed the problem may be in the "configuration of the connector to modify page", or some time after that.

    In addition, I don't know if it's important, but I don't see "User of Type" field "IOM user account data set" to "change the Connector Configuration Page.

    A I forgot to do something in the configuration or there's something I've had to do but the steps described in the guide?

    Thanks in advance!

    SUN IDM is better than the IOM
    Reconciliation process in Sun IDM (newest oracle) is easier to implement than IOM (worst solution identity)
