  This extension uses the module 'widget', which no longer exists in Firefox 40. The extension must be updated. You can contact the author to see if an update is planned (if they know the problem): http://www.searchdiscovery.com/contact/

  In the meantime, if you can't do what you need to do without this extension, you can switch to another variant of Firefox called the Extended Support Release (ESR) (temporarily?). This is designed for businesses that require a cycle time longer between changes to the features and is currently based on Firefox 38. It will get updates of security over the coming months, but not to get new features, so changes related to the compatibility of the add-on will not be out for a good time.

  If you decide to try it, here's how I suggest to install:

  Clean reinstall it

  We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

  (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 38.2.1esr of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

  (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

  (C) to rename the program folder, either:

  (Windows 64-bit folder names)

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
  

  TO

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Fx40
  

  (Windows 32-bit folder names)

  C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
  

  TO

  C:\Program Files\Fx40
  

  (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

  Success?

  Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

  • \Fx40\Plugins
  • \Fx40\browser\plugins

  I have a 9720 with OS 7.1.0.1083 (Platform 9.105.0.18) bundle 2910.

  Under software updates icon, it tells me there is an update available, bundle 2994, for O2 customers (which I am) to improve the battery life (which is currently only about one day max with a very light use).

  Many thanks to overthedge on Blackberryos for the info it stuck, to the origin of John Clark of Blackberry forums, who saved the day!

  Following my post above, with links to downloads of OS for your carrier, they fail to speak of 2 main things to their instructions, and it is to delete the vendor.xml file.

  > The steps are NORMALLY:
  1. download and install Desktop Manager (if you do not - if make sure that it is done (closed) before the next step).
  2. download and install the OS of your choice for your device. (see my ealrier posts for links to downloads of operator OS BB).
  3. delete vendor.xml located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader.
  4. plug in the BB and open the Desktop Manager.

  Step 3 is basic - I found this file in the Programsx86 folder, if (running 64-bit win7), "programs" folder - check them both.

  BUT the problem is: >... When you open the Desktop Manager, you get no prompt to update, you're supposed to. When you open the Application Loader your new operating system is not listed!

  That's exactly what I faced, as stated in my previous post, it was not right there, no update is available, even if I had just downloaded - exactly the same thing that happened at the beginning (until I find the download page of the OS from my operator even).

  > The problem is the new automatic Office Manager ' Check for Updates '. This feature uses your internet connection to search for OS updates for your device from your carrier. When it loads a second virtual vendor.xml file in the temporary folder on your computer.

  Delete the file vendor.xml here and in the common folder (step 3). DTM for not having the updates auto value (for this process)
  Then when I restarted the DTM and connected my phone, then automatically found and advised me of the update ready (previously downloaded and installed on the PC) and I could click to update as usual.

  States of the article on changing the DTM settings through Control Panel, or reinstallation of DTM. But I have this bit and it worked-I simply uncheck automatic updates in DTM, delete the 2 files started vendor.xml DTM, plugged the phone, told me I had a new update!

• BlackBerry Smartphones impossible to uninstall all versions of DTM (5.0.1 or 6.0)

  Since my computer is automatically downloaded and installed DTM 6.0, I got nothing else problems.  I was unable to get 6 DTM to recognize my BB Curve 8330, so decided to go back to version 5.0.1 which worked flawlessly. Unfortunately, I could not uninstall 6.0 and get error 1316.

  I watched all the answers previous to this error and followed the instructions - made uninstall cleanup as described in KB02206, even do the 'additional information' at the bottom of this article, without success. I always show the two office managers Blackberry list programs, but the Control Panel does not recognize them as not being programs, so I can't uninstall. I even tried to reinstall the version 5.0.1 despite this without success - the same error.

  I am running Windows Vista, 64-bit with all the critical updates installed. I was using Trend Micro Internet Security initially, but recently switched to BitDefender. I have a lot of hard disk space and 4 GB of Ram with a Dual core processor.

  I really hope someone can help me with this.  I'm more concerned by the day as I don't have a recent backup of my life!

  Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

  It will take some time to solve this problem, just to notify you beforehand.

  First of all, we need resolve error 1316, which is caused by the install shield. Follow the instructions in KB04272, once you do this.  Then follow the instructions at KB02206.

  You may find the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to remove physically BlackBerry Desktop Software programs/features.  If you do a search on google, it is very easy to find.

  5.0 is good! No need to change it.

  On my machine (XP), I run without administrator privileges. My DTM warns me that there is a version update, 5.0.1 dated 2009-10-30. But, I can't update because I am not an administrator. If I run the DTM by using my admin account, it does not find the update and when I go to the site (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/desktop_pc.jsp), I also see the update.

  Anyone got any ideas how I can get the update?

  I was always under the impression that I needed to download and install the latest software for my carrier device (for my PC) before I can update my BlackBerry OS.

  However, I had a PC brand new, installed the latest 5.0.1 BlackBerry Desktop Manager software and then plugged a device with an earlier version of the operating system installed.

  So, if your operator has released an upgrade higher than DM sees on your device, he advises the upgrade.

  Me, I would not recommend upgrades "DM on the web. I've seen too many of them go very wrong.

  Download the full operating system and install it manually.

  I've updated my DTM with the new 1.0.3 (version 16) yesterday.  Do you have a sync with my Storm 2 OS: 5.0.0.607 and my MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.3 and Entourage 2008 with the latest service packs.

  I lost all my contacts, and unfortunately I had just deleted the backups around me that I was going to start a new backup set.  (Yes, I know... Time to stupid to do)

  All my contacts are still living on my BB.

  I tried to sync the BB and the Entourage, but who wipe just the contacts out of the storm... which I restored using backups of the BB.

  How can I cause the BB replace the Entourage contacts file and restore my contacts on my computer?

  My sync didn't write either to the Mac address book.
