VCS Clustering

Hello

We have a cisco Call manager/IM & P 10.5 version installed on two BE7K chasiss running in PUB/SUB.

My query is on the redundancy of VCS. We must deploy VCS Expressway Core and Edge version 8.x on same UCS platforms.

My first request is can we install VCS Expressway Core and Edge in redundant mode, as well as in the case where if a UCS chassis fails, the other UCS chassis can handle the traffic?

If so, claims we separate licenses when VCS Expressway Core and Edge is installed in redundant mode?

Please notify.

regds,

Aman

Having a configuration redundant expressway is no problem. They are designed to be clustered.

run you a set-ch. & EI in a cluster on each of your BE7k configuration and it works for redundancy. Check out the guides below on how to set up a cluster and what else to care

of (such as SRV records)

Also licensing should be easy. And Yes, you need additional keys, based on the series

number of additional deployed highways.

You just need to get a set of additional keys for the new pair of expressways which should

be 0 products$.

Further, I recommend to take a deeper look in the Cisco documentation:

    3. VCS-Master (The VCS - NY is the Cluster Master Controller)

  • VCS Cluster configuration

I'll put up a cluster between VCS - 02c in version 8.x and one of them will be the captain. I will put all endpoints in the VCS - C Master points, what would happen if the master of VCS - C problems? My end points would be automatically transferred to another VCS - C (backup)?

    Hello

Setup is a cluster of VCS VCS a set up a Master and others as a slave.

Your points of termination/Codec must register to the VCS cluster (you need to update your DNS with VCS cluster name i.e. clustervcs.domain.com with the ip addresses of two VCS.  You can use SRV records to do a primary and the other back).  If your CODEC does not support the SRV record then you can put the IP of master VCS and the registration, the VCS Master will provide the idec with its ip address and ip address of the slave VCS.

  • VCS 7.2.2. and the integration of Lync 2010

    Hi all / Andreas,.

I was hoping that you could help us with a problem we have in our lab environment to get one of our areas of Lync 2010 and our video customers talk together.

Basically, we have only one video field ([email protected] / * /-2 areas of Lync and [email protected] / * / and [email protected] / * / )

We use a single gateway to lync VC to our laboratory and a VC control that takes care of all the [email protected] / * / registered customers.

The [email protected] / * / can make calls with the two areas of lync 1 and 2 with success.

However only Lync field 1 can communicate with our [email protected] / * /. Lync doman 2 users can not reach a customer VC that their presence shows unknown.

We have no active findMe and prefer not to do this now. (If no record of FindMe on Lync)

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated... Is it even possible that we are trying to achieve?

    Thank you

    SC

With the help of several areas and a third domain for shared video endponints for these two areas is not at least common deployment.

For the best support findme is btw a requirement.

If you want to use two different areas that you would waste away should look into if the old relay of ocs / road direct way might

be a workaround or get two VCS (clusters), one for each area of lync you can point only to a lync destination

address signaling. Not sure if you can fix the routing to Domain2 also in both servers lync.

If you do not get a response better / more input here, be sure to ask your Cisco partner / rep.

  • VCS on multiple cluster

Hello Experts! I'm hoping to get help on the SCV Clustering... I know that with the VCS X7.1, it says that VCS clustering requires a configuration with the same cluster name on all VCS, same pre-shared key for cluster on all VCS communication and same feature option keys (i.e. provisioning, findme, H.323 - SIP gateway, etc.).

That said, can someone please confirm if a peer of VCS can participate in a single Cluster VCS? Or - is it possible to have a single VCS to join two or more different VCS groups? If so, can you point me to the right docs?

    Hi Rose,

You can not only VCS join 2 different groups.

To join a cluster, you must have some common paramtere through peers as FULL, pre-shared key domain name.

VCS only single entry to these settings so I don't see a layout in which you can not enter the FULL domain and pre-shared mupltiple.

    Hope this helps

  • Vcs Tandberg and Cisco VCS control

    Hello

I have a client with an old would invest video and new servers.

    Old video servers

Control system Tandberg video Communication Server - part number = 117500

Application of Tandberg video Communication Server Expressway - part number = 1163402

    New video servers:

VCS License Control - Part Number - R-VMVCS-CTRL-K9

VCS Expressway License - Part Number - R-VMVCS-EXPWY-K9

    According to Cisco x8.2 Clustering:

-Each peer runs on a hardware platform with equivalent functionality; for example, you cannot cluster one
peer running on one core 2 average VM with peers running on base 8 large virtual machines

Means that the physical old VCS cannot be grouped with new virtual VCS.

    Thank you.

    Hi zizou.

You can include a device VCS with a VCS VM as long as their matches of software and their hardware platforms have equivalent capabilities.

Device VCS clustered with VCS VM running on core 2 MediumVM = YES

VCS machine clustered with VCS VM running on 8 cores LargeVM = No.

"you can even cluster that are running on the standard devices with peers running on core 2 Medium VMs, but you can not group a peer running on a standard unit with peers running on base 8 large virtual machines.

  • Doubts about the migration parallel to Lync 2013-> Skype4B 2015 on VCS - C (not clustered)

    Hello everyone!

As I saw on Cisco documents, applying "B2BUA/Microsoft Interoperability" on VCS can "communicate" with just an instance Microsoft Lync pool servers, but we need to migrate the Lync server on parallel to the servers of Skype, we need to have a few "maintenance window" to migrate all users!

Can we keep 'UP' communication for VCS (lync and Skype) pool of two servers until the end of the migration? The lync Server legacy 2013 (shared resources) with VCS today can communicate with users (migrated) for 2015 of Skype with trunk Lync existing TLS today?

I think we generate another certificate for TLS and affecting some Skype server on the option "host approved", that's okay, I forgot something? Or I have other ways to communicate two pools Microsoft server with a VCS - C with the application "B2BUA/Microsoft Interoperability?

    Thanks for help me!

To see some possible examples of deployment options, refer to Appendix 3 of the infrastructure Microsoft (X8.8) Deployment Guide and totalled, suggest that you also look over the guide in full as it might answer some of your questions about what is supported.

  • VCS VM clustering

If I want to build a cluster for VM VCS, should what license I buy?

Or simply need to buy 2 x R-VMVCS-CTRL-K9?

    Thank you.

Two VCS need to have the same keys option installed, such as commissioning, because they are not shared between the cluster.  The number called holders (non-parcours course) and records need not be the same, as they are shared between the cluster.

I suggest you visit the deployment of Cluster VCS for more details guide and make sure that you have all the prerequisites in order.

  • Where can I find documentation on how to get the VCS - C and VCS-E to Exchange presence information

I turned presence on my VCS - C and VCS-E, but depending on whether I am VPNed or not, I don't see the State of the presence of my side of the firewall.

I checked for x7.1 Administrator's guide, I looked in the guide of authentication devices, and I'm at a bit of a loss.

Is what I'm trying to do as possible, and if so, what do I have to do to make this work?

    I have a pretty simple setup - that works very well, could give you some ideas;

    Two VCS - Independent C (soon to be clustered) and a VCS-E;

all internal clients of the JabberVideo register with a VCS - C, and when external registers with the VCS-E (all of my users of Singapore recorded with the VCS-E).

Authentication is directly with AD and is made on the a WHAT VCS - C regardless of the user is registered with the VCS - C or the VCS-E.

PUA and presence disabled on VCS-E and activated on the VCS - C, which is used as SIP registrar.

    Authentication on VCS - e:

    Default subfield "do not check".

    Default zone "do not check".

Traversal server box "do not check".

    Authentication on VCS - C:

    Default subfield "audit powers.

    MOVI area 'audit powers.

Point final SIP registration box "treat as authenticated.

    Course customer area 'audit powers.

Authentication works well, the users cannot sign up for the VCS-E with the wrong password or user name, and presence works well too - both inside and outside.

  • Clustered servers listed in TMS

How managing licenses for control of VCS MSE 8510, TCS, cluster, VCS Expressway TMS.  Each slave/peers must be added in the TMS or that the master should be added?  I know for the MSE 8510 it says not to add the slave to MSDS, only add that the master, you can access the slave by the master in TMS via a tab group.  Is it the same way for other devices, and the slave/peers take device licenses in MSDS?

    Thanks, Patrick

    Hi Patrick,

I can tell you that VCS and it is each VCS must be added to the MSDS. When there are cluster and you click the Cluster tab and that VCS you have selected, you will see the cluster information to include peer global cluster name under 'Settings of Cluster' and then all VCS cluster under "Cluster." According to which VCS you have selected, you will see which is the 'master' and who is a 'slave' in the pane "Peer Cluster.

As far as TCS is going, and I assume you mean TANDBERG Content Server, I need for work research since I'll admit that I don't have a TCS cluster in my lab. However, I would remind each TCS must be added to the TMS as well and it will appear as does the VCS in TMS. And this should be covered in their documentation, i.e. Add TCSs and/or TCS clusters to MSDS.

    see you soon,

    Dale

  • Cisco VCS X6.1 and MS Lync 2010 over TLS

    Hi all!

I have a problem of integration CiscoVCS (X6.1) and Lync 2010.

I couldn't configure control VCS to Lync connection over TLS, but I've done with TCP.

If I try to TLS, there is detail = "bad packet length", event = 'Outbound TLS negotiation Error' records in the control of VCS event log.

The VCS and Lync certificates are of the same CA approved with their FQDNs as object names and the VCS and complete Lync with EDCS are in the DNS system. Of course, VCS and complete Lync, what subjects of certificates, used in VCS approved area and host of destination trust app Lync.

Calls for VCS is the intellectual property of the EFF Lync. We use no HLB and administration. Also, VCS is autonomous, without any load balancers or clustering.

Lync signaling is done, but as I see it, VCS cannot send the data back.

    Lync is on Server 2008 R2 x 64

    Thanks for your suggestions!

  • Highway VCS cluster

    Hello

We intend to deploy VCS Cluster consisting of two expressway Expressway.  The two highway will be activated with Dual Interface. Need some clarification regarding the ip and dns address. Here is an example of setting.

    for example

Highway of VCS A: 192.168.10.2 for the first interface.   192,168.20.2 assigned to the second interface and nattted to 77.100.42.23

Highway of VCS B: 192.168.10.3 assigned to the first interface. 192.168.20.3 assigned to second iinterface and natted to 77.100.42.24

    name of the cluster: video.exampledomain.com

FULL domain name: video.exampledomain.com will be be mapped both the public ip address 77.100.42.23 and 77.100.42.24 with the required SRV records.

When customer movi connect to video, exampledomain.com traffic will be routed to 77.100.42.23 and 77.100.42.24 in "round robin" mode.

Well confirm the above is the correct way to deployment and what will happen if A vcsexpressway is down. always the first call will fail because the rqurest will be sent to 77.100.42.23 and the second appeal attempt will succeed.

    Krishna.

    Hello Krishna,

your deployment plan looks good, assuming that 192.168.10.x and 192.168.20.x are different subnets. Please be sure to set up clustering on LAN1 (the interface non-translated) which seems to be part of your plan.

Concerning the behavior of call when one of the VCS is down, assuming that your SRV records were properly implemented and that the remote caller has good DNS SRV support for its implementation H323 and SIP, the appealing party must switch to VCS work in case of failure of the initial connection to the slaughtered VCS. In any case the result will depend greatly on the conduct of the appellant and his ability to switch to other VCS during his attempt to connect through the slaughtered VCS fails.

    Hope this helps,

    Andreas

  • VCS EXPRESS WAY CLUSTER

    Hello

We intend to deploy VCS Expressway Cluster for a company with two sites. Each site will have a VCS Expressway. Dual interface and NAT will be used. I would like to know the list of ports is used for cluster communications. Annex 3 of the Guide to creation and maintenance of Vcs Cluster located in the below mentioned website has details of the port. But this is not not in our Setup. It would be great if someone can provide me with the list of ports to be opened.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps11337/products_installation_and_configuration_guides_list.html

    Krishna.

Adding to Guy, note that all VCS must deploy within the period of round-trip 30ms for clustering.

VCS cluster communicate among themselves and to replicate/share information between them.

  • VCS - C cluster and Cluster VCS-E with Movi 4.6 register and call interruption

    Hi all

We have VCS - C cluster and Cluster VCS-E with Movi 4.6 register and call interruptions. The point is, if the appeal or record comes from the Internet. We have the sip proxy model vcse--> vcs - c record. The strange point is, if run us in mode not cluster with only 1 vcs - c, then the call works very well or so over 1 minute. We also have findme. The call internal registered locally (VCSC) works as well) the case appears if the active VCS - c cluster and the movi has been listed in the subzone of the crossing of VCS - c
VCS versions are x.7.2.2 and tms 14.2.2

    Hi friend

The issue you are experiencing is a known limit of Jabber of telepresence. This happens when registration of the device is transmitted by proxy to the VCS control, where VCS are clusters. Probably what is happening:

-Jabber client records through the fast track to a control in the area of the highway crossing.

    -L' check requires authentication

-When the customer registers again every minute (registration of SIP (re) process normal), the registration request is sent to one of the other controls in the cluster.

-The customer then completes the current record and authenticates back to the other control

-The client (Jabber) will tear down the ongoing call when there is re - authenticate registration

This problem is resolved in the current version for Jabber for iPad. The current version of Jabber for TelePresence still has this problem. Default: CSCud17952

Another user has reported the same issue. See the following:
