VCS - sense VCSE

Hey there,

So, I got the mandiate to get our VCSE to talk and work fully with our VCS... and to do it in 1 day, oh and by the way, I have no idea what I'm doing... I have the config General vcse made with IP and other and VCS and VCSE can ping eachother, so we're good up to L3. There can someone be so kind as to explain the main steps in making these things work together? I created a zone of customer journey control vcs to vcse and a crossing area of server vcse for vcs... But the VCS, displays the message: ' SIP: Unknown "and VCSE shows"failure "... I have set up a search rule on each and associated with the zone pointing to each other about everything for... Alas, they claim that they do not speak.

Here are some general questions:

Should I make the VCS and VCSE a cluster? and why? I can do what I do without cluster configuration?

We have a TMS, is required to get VCSE to connect to MSDS? and if so, how is this work?

I appreciate your kind help!

Steve

Make sure your firewall is open and that you have not any nat-helper, alg, or other features enabled on the router/firewall.

You can find an info of firewall on the site of cisco doc as well.

The destination port of the tcp packet must be 7001 (or what ever is configured on the VCS - C - E.

the source port is not really serious and if his behind nat may even have changed.

  • UPDATE to VCSE VCS Starter Pack Express

    Hello community support.

just a quick question for the upgrade process. With this key:

Video Communication Server Starter Pack Upgrade to VCS Expressway - TMS, Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence 100 users CTI-VCSE-SPUPG-K9 TTC2-04

I can add as an option on my VCSESTRTPACK and remove the pack before starter option. After that, I have a VCSE without refueling.

But what of the Jabber user? How did the license provided for me?

Can I install just the touch option even on MSDS and this will add 100 user of Jabber for her? Or do I have to buy a separate license for this?

Thank you for the support :)

    From what I found online:

    • You can convert the Starter Pack, either a control or highway depending on what part number you use (CTI-VCSC-SPUPG-K9 or CTI-VCSE-SPUPG-K9).
    • You will lose the integrated supply management and Jabber video/Movi licenses.
    • You will retain licensing additional call that have been purchased on top of the base call licenses.
    • You will receive basic application of TMS + 100 licenses video/Movi Jabber.

  • License VCS\VCSE of virtual machine hardware migration.

    Hi all

I want to migrate my hardware to virtual VCS\VCSE.

Both servers are covered by the active maintenance contract.

How licenses work in this case? What is the procedure of transfer?

    Any cost?

    Thank you.

    Hello

About Cisco VCS, you want to migrate virtual machine hardware, you will need to purchase a new license to make the transfer. These are the partnumbers you need:

    R-VMVCS-C-M-K9

HW migration to E - Delivery Virtual VCS only controls

    R-VMVCS-E-M-K9

HW migration to E - Delivery Virtual VCS Highway only

Please contact your Cisco representative for more information.

After purchasing the license, the license of the VM device rehost will be made by a specific Cisco team, not the team of global license, it is a process different rehost. You will need to send your request to [email protected] / * /, this team will provide instructions to rehost your VCS license correctly.

    I hope this helps.

  • Do we need to purchase the license to upgrade the VCS, VCSe and TMS?

    Hello

We need to get a new license when upgraded version of VCS, VCSe and TMS?

    Hi Kelvin,

xxx. OVA files are package files to deploy the VCS on virtualize platforms.

Release key are required to upgrade the VCS for major updates. for p. ex. upgrade of x 6 x 7 software version worm.

However for improvements minor as x7.2 to x7.2.2 these are the released hotfix version or bux fixes release and you don't need a license for this upgrade.

in any case if you your devices are less covered by valid contract you can get the license key anytime just contact cisco license team on "[email protected] / * /" and they should be able to provide the necessary license.

  • Jabber presence doesn't work not between VCSe and Express, but works if you are registered to the same VCS...

    Hello

I have a problem where the presence does not work between users registered on the VCSC and the VCSe.

If a user on the VCSe registers, they cannot see the presence of VCSe registered users, and even, registered on the VCSC users see only the presence of records on the VCSC.

TMS is running 14.1.1 with TMSPE

VCSC and VCSe run every two X7.2.

Both the VCSC and and VCSe each with authentication Active Directory (direct)

Wouldn't be better to have control of VCS and VCS Expressway with authentication Active Directory (directly) on the control of VCS?

    Thank you very much

    Rob

    Hello

in most cases, you want the VCS control to contain the presence information and VCS Highway to simply forward requests for control of VCS.
Should be set to the 'on' presence User Agent and server on your control and only the User Agent of the presence on the highway in position 'on '.

You can find more details in the VCS Administrator's guide.

    Hi George,.

Your VCSE is the server of your course and your VCSCs are traversal clients. You must create a separate traversal server for each system that is the customer of his career. • Cisco VCS VCSE H323 Support LAN2 missing

    Hello community,

After the upgrade VCS to 8.7.1 I see below the H323 config just LAN1 is activated it. I use LAN2 for external connections. So, for this interface, that there is no possible connection with calls H323 1720 from the outside. Have they changed it? There are always two interfaces active in SIP.

    Now they dial-in can´t us on H323 like @.

Can we do a downgrade and restore the config? Is there a known change? Nothing in the Release Notes.

    Thanks for help.

Have you tried to call your VCS-E from the outside and to see if it's actually not accessible, or by using SSH check the State of H323 with command: xStatus H323?

I saw no bug on this topic.  I would downgrade to the previous version you are running, if the second address lan reappears, Sue to get it looked at TAC.  It could be a bug or just a cosmetic problem.

  • Caller ID of VCS Jabber Video on SIP Trunk on the phone

    Hello, Netpros.

I am trying to find a way to show a caller E.164 ID when a call to a video client Jabber a UCM or a PSTN phone.

    VCSC/E 7.1; 13.2 TMS, configured TMSPE.

We have a VCSC > SIP Trunk > UCM (8,6) > H.323 GW w / PRI voice configured for the composition of and the PSTN destination.  We do this, so the Jabber client video can be used as a softphone, and so we can have transparent FindMe to voice and SNR to the video in either sense.  In TMS, we have a model of implementation configured with an address of the video, ILA and unit address.  He pulls ad office phone number for video of Jabber users.

    From what I read here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_FindMe_Express_Deployment_Guide_X7-1.pdf, we should be able to see the caller ID when you call send out an ISDN GW.

«This section describes how to use FindMe with calls are routed through an ISDN gateway (for example, when you call a mobile phone, or any other destination accessible ISDN).» If VCS has Caller ID (Applications > FindMe > Configuration) defined to use the ID FindMe, the identification of the appellant presented will be the user E.164 phone number. »

UCM SIP config is vanilla, by

    ttp: / /www.tandberg.com/collateral/documentation/Deployment_Guides/Cisco_VCS_Ci...

However, when a video call Jabber is directed to a University Complutense of MADRID registered phone, we get "unknown caller".  When to call us directly to the PSTN, we see that the BTN from the PRI.

What is strange, is that if we call another client of Jabber of VCS (with all the same problems), directly into a phone UCM via Internet on URI (for example [email protected] / * /) through the VCSE, we see the caller ID name.

    Thank you, all!

    Joshua

    Hi Joshua,.

At present the VCS will only send caller E.164 id to a GW of H.323 ISDN, which is registered for VCS.

There a feature request in the order book to define if E.164 Caller ID or name/Video address on a per-zone basis. This will also be sove the question when the call is to go on a SIP connection, as in this case, a remote ISDN GW.

    Thank you

  • Question about the design of VCS-C/VCS-E

    Hello

Customer has no DMZ. So, what are my options to configure a deployment of VCS-C/VCS-E?

How is it I could reach the goal that VCSC and VCSe contact area of neighbor?

Do I need to assign an internal IP address (without static nat) and LAN2 in also an IP address in-house with NAT static external IP LAN1.

Prerequisite for which is 'Dual touch Option NIC', no?

At the moment I have no double key Option of NIC, then the only way in my deployment is the DMZ preffered way, right? Or make me another option?

    Concerning

    Thorsten

Well, in this case, you can have the VCS-E in public, VCS - C behind the firewall and an area between the two.

You can increase the security nat'ing and with who use dual NICs on the VCS-E option.

I also either turn off or at least to block SSH on VCS-E to the public.

  • VCS licenses on BE6000

We have the Cisco C220 with BE6000. In particular, these are elements CTI-VCSC-BE6K-PAK, LIC-VCS-10 +, LIC-VCS-BASE, LIC-VCS-GW, LIC-VCSE-5 + in our price list.

Is it enough to install the control of video Communication on a VM Server?

After installing VCS on VM, trying to save PAK has to fail with the message:

"Sign up for virtual PAK Base SW, before registration Option PAK".

Documentation [Cisco VCS on Machine virtual Installation Guide (X8.1)]: follow the on-screen instructions to register your PAK software (with a prefix part of the LIC-SW-VMVCS number)...

But I do not see the LIC-SW-VMVCS in our price list. Can we use given above?

Whenever we bought our VM VCS and conductor (because he was so VM), I sent the information to [email protected] / * /.  Note Oleksandr, you misspelled email, put a w instead of v at the beginning.

I have provided the following information:

    Sales order number

    Product reference number

Once you send them the serial numbers, you should receive the unlocking keys, if not already.  Then shortly after, PAK keys to submit online at

  • Cisco VCS Lync Interworking with Lync Server/multiple domains

Unfortunately I don't find any reference in the guides of deploymend, if it is possible to master several server/domains on a single VCSE lync. Is there a way to gather environments different lync with a vcs? For example, interoperability with clients a and b, which have completely separated from lync environments.

We wanted to master it with VCSE, or is the Microsoft key option only avalible for VCS?

    Thanks for the reply.

The Deployment Guide says you should use a VCS-control, not a VCS-Highway to serve as gateway of Lync.

I don't think I have several B2BUAs connect to Lync on a single VCS - you would need to have a separate VCS for each Lync environment (IE, one for the customer) and another for client B and search rules appropriate to direct traffic areas in the right direction.

  • Question record DNS SRV + VCS Expressway

    Hi all

I have a South, VCS in the DMZ, and I am facing a problem with the SRV DNS records.

    VCS Expressway Hostname:-VCSe

    Domain: example.com

    FULL VCSE domain name: VCSe.example.com

and I have an a record set up for the same FQDN in DNS Public Server.

I have a sip domain configured as 'cisco.com' in my VCS Expressway.

What is the SRV records, I need to create in the Public DNS server.

    Kind regards

    Nikhil Jayan

    Nikhil,

It seems that you have not checked the link I sent you earlier... A very explicit documents. in any case that we talked about earlier is we were talking about signs send calls to the highway as well as parts of the record.

In your deployment, you have a different domain for DNS and SIP domain. Also as you say you meet Highway cluster and you want to record to both endpoints and then I suggest you to check the document for the creation of cluster on cisco webesite.

Now, if you have a cluster for Highway then you must create several srv records that would be pointing to each domain name FULL of the approved cluster with equal weight. In normal use scneario of domain common to different services are recommended.

Srv records would have seen something like that.

    _sips._tcp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 5061 vcse1.company.com.

    _sips._tcp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 5061 vcse2.company.com.

    _sip._tcp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 5060 vcse1.company.com.

    _sip._tcp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 5060 vcse2.company.com.

    _h323ls._udp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 1719 vcse1.company.com.

    _h323ls._udp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 1719 vcse2.company.com.

    _h323cs._tcp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 1720 vcse1.company.com.

    _h323cs._tcp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 1720 vcse2.company.com.

    _h323rs._udp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 1719 vcse1.company.com.

    _h323rs._udp.company.com. 86400 IN SRV 1 1 1719 vcse2.company.com.

However, your case is different. In your deplyoment what you have to do is any request for the domain "cisco.com" should be resolved in FQDN of the VCS-Highway peers with equal weight.

    for example

    _tcp.gmail.com. IN SRV 20 0 5222     talk2.l.google.com.

Therefore, any request to gmail.com would resolve to the talk2.1.google.com server.

same way you have to make it work.

    Thank you

  • VCS Cluster DNS problems

    Hello

I have created a DNS SRV to configure in the FULL of the VCS Cluster domain name.

The problem is when devices try to enroll in the VCS Cluster; I put in the endpoints, in Gatekeeper registration DNS or IP address of the DNS SRV but the always end points will never reach the cluster of VCS.

I check the logs in DNS SRV and I don't see any request from devices.

I think I need to create a virtual IP address with DNS with load balancing, I mean: IP/DNS (FQDN) for the Cluster with load and balance when devices trying to connect to the cluster's IP/DNS it transmits the request to an IP or host name of a host in the cluster.

    DNS cLuster

    23.1.0.201 (vcs.xxx)

    The peer of the cluster:

    23.1.0.32 (vcscontroltc.xxx) Master

    23.1.0.33 (vcscontrolvag.xxx) slave

    XXX--> field

    Is this right?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards.

    Hello

then 23.1.0.201 is the IP address of your DNS server?

How you need to configure is:

FULL of the cluster domain name: vcscluster.domain.local

    VCS counterpart A: vcscontroltc.domain.local

    VCS counterpart B: vcscontrolvag.domain.local

With the above assumptions, that's what you create in DNS:

-For the FULL domain name cluster, create two A records for vcscluster.domain.local one pointing to 23.1.0.32 and the other pointing to 23.1.0.33. With that, I recommend that you enable alternate on your DNS server.

-For each peer, create a record, so vcscontroltc.domain.local points to the points 23.1.0.32 and vcscontrolvag.domain.local to 23.0.1.33.

-Create SRV H323 and SIP records for vcscluster.domain.local. With that, I recommend that you create two SRV records for each service, pointing A Exchange and showing a B counterpart, with a weight and priority. For example:

    _sips._tcp.vcscluster.domain.local-> vcscontroltc.domain.local, priority 1, weight 50

    _sips._tcp.vcscluster.domain.local-> vcscontrolvag.domain.local, priority 1, weight 50

If you follow the advice above, you should be able to configure all of your interior SIP and H323 endpoints with a h.323 gatekeeper address/SIP proxy address, of vcscluster.domain.local and endpoints must enroll in one of the peers, regardless of whether endpoints supports DNS SRV.

If the domain that you use is public, you also want to add the SRV records for that domain name. These SRV records must point to your VCS Expressway, to ensure that incoming calls from URI function as it should. For example:

    _sips._tcp.domain.local-> vcse.domain.local, priority 1, weight 100

If you have several VCS-E you can adjust the SRV records accordingly.

    Hope this helps,

    Andreas
