Verification of staus fo MRP process in DATA GUARD

Hi all
How to check the status of the MRP in dataguard MRP is called or no standby d.b

1. to start the recovery of media on the database pending:

SQL > change database recovery managed standby database disconnect from the session.

2. perform little command to log on the primary database

SQL > Alter system switch logfile;

SQL > /.

SQL > /.

3. monitoring of various processes on a database of pending:

SQL > select process, status from v$ managed_standby;

SQL > select message from v$ dataguard_status;

Is there is any problem with the MRPO process does not start? If Yes after the output of the commands in step 3 and the version of database and the version of the OS.

  • Lose the mapping source-target of a process of data flow diagram

    Hello

    When I reload an xml repository model design, I lose mappings of source-target of a process of data flow diagram. I wonder why.

    The way it goes is:
    -Define a flow diagram data banks of information, processes and workflows.
    -Information structures are defined on the workflow and information reflected down to the processes and stores information.
    -In a process, I defined mapping Source-target by selecting a target element, and then by selecting the source element.
    -J' I save the entire model.
    -So far, the mapping of the Source-target maintains the link between the source and target.
    -If I leave Modeler data, next time I reload the saved template, the mapping target Source-target associations to elements of source are lost!

    Someone there the same question or do not know how to solve?

    Thank you

    Hi Mario,.

    There are a few errors in the definitions of meta data and you can change them - are located in datamodeler\datamodeler\xmlmetadata directory.
    (1) bad method is used in the definition of Process.xml meta data file:

    getter = "getUpdatedTargetElements" should be replaced by
    getter = "getTargetElements" and it works

    also, there is an error in TargetElement.xml

    getItemByID = "getPartyByID" should be replaced by
    getItemByID = "getSourceByID."

  • which is to process form data in controller

    Hello friends,

    which is to process form data in controller? I do not see to treat form data when I created controller, what is the importance of use to process form data in controller? exactly what scenario we can use in our application OFA?

    According to the jdevguide, I could not clarify this below.

    In most, if not all, of the pages that you generate, you will have no cause to override this method. In fact, the only use case we could think is extremely unlikely in an OA Framework application: If the source of data for a region is not a view object, instance and the view attribute properties are not defined for individual web beans, then you could processFormData() of the region code to write the child web data in the appropriate data source bean. Note: The OA framework implements processFormData() at the level of the item, but you can overwrite it only at the level of the regions, so you must treat all elements of the region if you never implement anything like this. If you choose to implement something like that, don't forget first call super.processFormData (pageContext OAPageContext, OAWebBean webBean).

    Thank you
    Krish.

    which is to process form data in controller?

    When a user submits the page, the processFormData() method is called. The responsibility of this method is to transfer the value of the fields on the screen in the cache.

    This cache is not the same as MDS cache. You can think of it as being sort of a cache of data for the user's session.

    Thank you

  • Restore the size of the log in Data Guard configurations

    DB version: 11.2
    Platform: Solaris 10

    We have currently a DB production which is not Dataguard.It has a load of joint working: some processing OLTP and batch.
    Its size of redo log is * 100 * MB.

    We will create a database with the requirement very similair but this DB will have primary standby (Data guard) and real time applies.

    To adapt to the requirements of dataguard, we should reduce the size of the recovery online newspapers? That is to say. Transport of small pieces of roll forward is better than carrying more. Right?

    Hello;

    If you use "real-time applies" the key is not the size so that the standby Redo Logs.

    In most cases, 100 MB is fine. Newspapers to sleep again must be the same size that it again.

    With 'real time applies' SRL act as a buffer.

    Unless you have a real problem with the size of do it again I would not change it.

    An excellent source of information on this is 'Restore the Services of Transport' in ' Data Guard Concepts and Administration 11 g Release 2 (11.2) "E10700-02".

  • How to use Data Guard with E-Business Suite

    Hello

    I'm trying to get my head around how would you use Data Guard with E - Business Suite.

    I know that you can use only physical standby with EBS, however I have a few basic questions about specific values < SETTING > and how they are treated by a standby.

    Given that the standby and primary servers will have different host names and that generally there are < FRAME > specific values that include the hostname, where they will have to change on the standby server, both from the point of view of the battery backup Apps and within the standby database itself, I wondered how it would happen.

    Usually, EBS cloning process would change the < FRAME > target settings in the target apps stack and the target database (for example, parameters such as FND_NODES etc.).

    Q1. However I do not know how the process of cloning E - Biz would fit with a database of the day before?

    Q2. As the standby database won't even be in an open State, I don't know yet how you would apply a party any of the cloning process to a database of pending to the target?

    Q3. Even if you were able to change on the eve of the database to reflect the < FRAME > from backup server, it would mean surely it was more a physical copy of the primary database, that's why it would be more a day before.

    All a bit confusing - any clarification appreciated

  • Database is configured for Data Guard

    I'm lance a UTF8 conversion on a development database, which has been cloned from Data Guard. There is a warning in the Migration status: "database is configured for Data Guard" which is looking at DMU to determine this? The database is opened in read-write mode and it behaves like a primary database (I have the MISP scanner and run updates to address representations not valid). I would like to know what I need to update the settings.

    This prevent me to convert tables using DEC? When I try to select this option for all tables I get the message, "CDS does not support conversion method"Copy data using CREATE TABLE AS SELECT"for tables that are involved in a process like capture Oracle Streams, or apply.". Another method of conversion available for the table.

    Thank you

    Ben

    CDS checks if the DG_BROKER_START parameter is set to true.

    The problem with the ETG is independent of the Data Guard. The CDS is true for tables which:

    -are asynchronous stream capture source, or

    -update conflict managers have, or

    -DML managers have, or

    -conflict resolution settings have

    The above tables are considered to be configured for Oracle Streams and are not supported by the method of conversion of DEC. This is because the DEC method creates a copy converted the table and falls from the original. The CDS is not able to move the configuration information from the old table to the new flow.

    Thank you

  • Data Guard - ORA-17627: ORA-01017: username/password invalid name

    Hello

    I have a strange behavior with a Data Guard on Linux and Oracle 11.2.0.2 environment. Since a few days, I have the following error in the database pending alertlog:

    Errors in the /u00/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/SID_site2/SID/trace/SID_pr0f_22728.trc file:

    ORA-17627: ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused

    ORA-17629: unable to connect to the remote database server

    First of all, I rebooted apply it on the day before without any modification. So I tried to connect to the primary database to the standby with .net Oracle successfully server. He also works in the other direction.

    I also tried to copy the password from the primary server to the standby server and I restarted the transport and apply it.

    The error occurs on the day before, but the most surprising, is that the Data Guard is always fully synchronized.

    Why I get this error and what is the function of the pr0f process?

    How can I solve this problem?

  • Data Guard Vs Golden Gate

    I have data-guard for disaster recovery and now my management planning to do more like implement Golden gate. My question is when you can protect your data and offload pressure on primary database by maintaining active data-guard why someone need to go for golden gate??

    One more thing, what is meant when someone using eve of terms and dataguard, dataguard active? Are not all the same?

    Active Dataguard is a device in which the database pending would be placed in open read-only mode and recovery (MRP/application log) would be ongoing. This is called as active dataguard and the wait would be in sync with the primary. The standby database when kept in open read-only mode can be used for purposes execute select queries. So, you would be having a function of the use of the database as a database, and at the same time the day before would apply the primary newspapers. This feature is available only from 11 g.

    In 10g or earlier versions, we had no such device. The database of rescue, if necessary use for reporting purposes, then the backup database must be open in read-only mode, but the recovery (MRP/application log) cannot be done. So, if you want that database waiting to have the application of fact log, then he must place in EDITING mode. If it will be used for the purposes of tax, then it must be placed in open READ ONLY mode and stop the recovery. Guests receive only 1 device at a time here.

  • Digital switchover and Active Data Guard

    I spin a quarter-Exadata V2 support systems (two instances CARS) and am changing my sleep Physics (an Exadata V1 rack with four RAC instances) in an Active Data Guard configuration (i.e. bearer Real - Time Query). The RDBMS runs 11.2.0.2 with BP7.

    My question is if I need to disable RTQ/Active Data Guard before a planned failover? If this is not the case, the transition process will automatically start QTR on the 'new' standby (i.e. my 'old' primary)? We'll test this on next month, but he was curious to know what to expect in advance.

    I use DGMGRL (Data Guard Broker) to manage the transition to digital.

    Any thoughts?

    Mark

    If you use the broker, as you must do with RAC, the broker must manage everything seamlessly. If it's not, and you need to test this, open an SR with Oracle's Support.

  • How to Setup Data Guard with alter tablespace... begin backup approach

    Hello!

    I am writing this compilation of documents in a guard daata establishing in 10g. I was in charge to present different approaches in implementing on Rhel 5.

    I came across 3 procedures (which is to duplicate a database with RMAN, then configure it to a Data Guard feature). I read a process using (let's this is what the article said, but procedure was presented):

    alter tablespace... .begin backup;
    alter tablespace... .end backup;

    then copy the generated files and configure it to the data protection feature.

    Someone help it with that? Is there like a blogsite or steps I can take for this scenario?

    Hello;

    The best I found was: (and its same 10 Oracle! and not RMAN.)

    http://sites.Google.com/site/catchdba/physical-standby-database-using-HOTBackup

    There, an old link here on this topic:

    DataGuard configuration using hot backup files

    Hard to find much on this topic as "Hot Backup" almost always comes to RMAN.

    This collection of notes can also help:

    DataGuard knowledge browser Product Page [ID 267955.1]

    And the "Formidable" Powerpoint:

    www.dbspecialists.com/files/presentations/standbydb.ppt

    Seems that this method is dead somewhere between Oracle 8 and Oracle 9

  • Mixed version Clusterware in Data Guard configuration

    I currently have a primary database RAC with physical relief RAC database with the database to 10.2.0.4 and Clusterware versions. I intend to move the entire stack to 11 GR 2 finally. My window of failure is limited, I plan on upgrading the Clusterware to 11.2.0.1.2 in a breakdown and the database in a second failure.

    To mitigate risk, I plan on upgrading the physical relief of Clusterware cluster version before the main cluster. This will give me confidence and timing to repeat on the main cluster.

    The resulting configuration will be: -.

    Main cluster: -.
    10.2 Clusterware/ASM/listener
    10.2 database

    Cluster relief: -.
    Clusterware/ASM/listener 11.2
    10.2 database

    Can you see any problems with this please? Other that a process of LNS 10.2 on the principal should communicate with a listener 11.2 (RFS process), I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    In general, it should not any matter having a rescue system with different version of ASM and GI, since this has nothing to do with what needs the Data Guard. Your hope is so correct.

    However, there are some problems with the 10.2 clusterware 11 GR 2 and databases:

    Please check the MOS score: 948456,1 pre 11.2 questions Database 11 GR 2 Infrastructure grid environment

    As you can see in this note, this unfortunately requires patches in 10.2 as well House...

    In addition, take care if your third disc with voting rights is based NFS. It is best to remove it before upgrading clusterware (has had a problem with that).
    Also if you have some VIPs created for your own applications (not the VIP of the oracle, they are o.k. delete them.) I've heard talk about problem trying to upgrade a cluster containing self creates some VIPs.

    Good luck. And if you encounter problems during the update let me know...

  • Data Guard and EHCC on Exadata - does work?

    Exadata Hybrid columnar Compression (OHCC) works when a database is in mode "force logging?

    I fear that it may not work because OHCC works only for inserts in direct mode, which means me no logging.

    We are in the process of purchasing a vault Exadata, a second target Data Guard.

    V11.2 documentation Data Guard is specifically stated that Data Guard doesn't support hybrid columnar compression, but I don't know what are the implications of this.

    I expect to have to solve the primary database Machine for 'forcing logging' Data Guard will be used.

    DataGuard physical or logical?

    Oracle fully supports data Guard physical standby and hybrid columnar Compression on Exadata.

    Direct support issues that may exist with Data Guard logic and therefore, at least at the present time, logic is not supported.

    The above is to the best of my knowledge that I don't have access to the documentation of the Exadata. But was certainly true of my
    last experience of HCC. Your Oracle sales representative should be able to provide the definitive answer quickly and I would be grateful
