VeriStand alarms

I set an alarm to travel on Estop system. I look at the bit for the lack of a camera and trigger a process when she is off limits. The problem is that the alarm message is not always pop up. the action is triggered another channel seem to work. Is this a known problem or I am doing something wrong here? Where can I get detailed information about the configuration of alarms?

JY

Is sometimes dialog box pop up, and sometimes it doesn't?

If so, this might have to do with the speed at which your triggered procedure resets the alarm. The workspace queries some channels 5 Hz system to see if the alarms are active. If so, it looks the ID alarm stored in the appropriate system channel and displays a dialog for this alarm.

The question that could happen is if your alarm and then reset in a time window of 200ms. In this case the workspace can read the untriggered State, wait 200ms and then read state untriggered once again, having missed the trip the alarm.

One thing to try would be to modify your procedure and add a step of Dwell (0.3) before resetting the alarm. It is much more likely to give the workspace a large enough time window to recognize the alarm was triggered and display the dialog box.

  • Alarm time VeriStand

    Hey,.

I wonder if there is a way to get the time that alarm was triggered in a procedure. Perhaps there is an easy way that I'm missing, but I would like to be able to compare the time between two alarms being triggered.

    Thanks for the help,

    Kevin Key

If your system time is incorrect and you run on a goal of RT probably this means that your system is unable to maintain the rate of the loop, you asked.

Check the real rate of loop, County of hp, lp County and County channel model.

If your desired loop rate is reasonable for your hardware, something in your configuration probably takes too long to run. Could be a model, peripheral custom.

If this is the case, a running trace by using the real time trace tool might be useful. The addon to achieve is on ni.com/veristand addons page

  • How to make an alarm in VeriStand that checks the specific value?

I need the alarm is triggered when the string value is 0x2C and only 0x2C.

Creating calculated a channel, then select "Conditional" in the drop-down list.  The condition of '=' to compare your channel to a constant value.  The calculated channel will be 0 when the condition is false, and 1 when it is true.  You can then create an alarm based on the calculated string you created.

    Hope that helps!

  • See the list of system alarm notifications

How to display the list of alarm system notifications? It indicates when an anlarm is present, but I need to show this list on demand to watch the story of alarm. I can't find anything in the menu normal workspace that will show in this list.

My other thought is to create an alarm for a push button on the workspace and trigger the list this way alarms.

    Hi Damien,.

First of all, let me mention that if you use VeriStand 2015 SP1 or later, you can use the new Manager user interface as an alternative to the old VeriStand workspace.  This new application has an alarm monitor tool that has a tab alarm history that you can pass ot at any time.  Check it out if you have not already!

Regarding the history of alarm notification dialog box, there is no built-in features this and the only time where it will be displayed is when an alarm is fired.  The VI is built in the exe VeriStand, changes cannot be made.

However, I was able to do a simple VI that you can add to your Tools menu that allows you to display the dialog box.  Some cautions however first:

    (1) it is not fully tested, so there is a chance, it may not work properly in all cases (even though she seemed well in my limited testing)

    (2) it refers to a path of the internal VI to the exe VeriStand.  There is always a chance that this may change or stop working in the future (although I would say that the chances of this change is fairly low)

    (3) I made this 2015 LabVIEW VI, so it only works with VeriStand 2015 or 2015 SP1.  If you use a different version of the VeriStand, let me know and I can recompile it for you in his own version.

To use this tool, unzip the VI in the .zip file to the following location:

    VeriStand 2015\Workspace Tools\Show \National Instruments\NI alarm History.vi

You VeriStand project, click on the "User Interface" node and select "configure tools."  In the dialog box, click the 'Create a new item' button in the lower left corner of the dialog box, and then configure it as a tool for custom VI, as shown here:

After that, click OK, and then run your project.  In the menu 'Tools' in your workspace, you should see the new command "view alarm history.  If you click on it, the list of Noticiation alarm system should appear.

If all goes well, that should work for you, but let me know if you have any problems.

If you don't want to use this for some reason, your other idea on the creation of a dedicated button alarm will work as well, but then you'll find yourself with a lot of extra any notification of alarm to 'View' in your list.

  • Statement and alias in VeriStand System Explorer

I have the following questions about the procedures and the alias configuration in System Explorer of VeriStand:

    (a) using methods that States that "you can set up procedures to run only once, more than once, or in response to a particular event like an alarm. While I know how to triger a procedure on an alarm, how to set up several procedures to run only once or continuously at startup? The checkbox 'on start run the procedure"only allows to choose a single procedure.

    (b) when you add more than one alias in the Explorer of the system, the name of the alias by default '%s' which basically returns the channel name without path information. Is it possible to return the name of level one pathname instead of channel name (or several) to the top? Thus, for example, if the full channel path is "controller/Simulation models/models/CCH_v1_0_bad/Inports/Islington 220kV Bus EAD/CB668/host_close", I would like to have an alias of "CB668 host_close", or "Islington 220kV Bus EAD CB668 host_close.

    (c) I don't seem to be able to map aliases to the controls and indicators on the VeriStand workspace. Alias appear just not at all in the list of the channels of the controls and indicators. Is there something that I am missing?

I think that the help topic refers to the fact that procedures may call other procedures. For example, you may have a boot procedure that just had the following structure:

    1: call the A Proc

    2: call Proc B

    3: dial the Proc C

    4: Goto1

In regard to alias names, which is a good suggestion to be able to use more of the path the name comes from. To work around the problem, you could look at using the import function to create aliases, which imports a standard delimited by tabs of the file and you can create names based on some agreement you choose.

The map control on controls of the workspace has two methods of selecting a channel. If you have aliases configured, you can use the drop-down list directly to choose an alias. If you don't have aliases or want to browse a channel without alias, you can hit the button browse, where you see the system tree.

  • FPGA VeriStand personality is late? and latent FPGA data processing

I use a FPGA 7853 (only) in a SMU 1071 chassis with a controller 8135 and run VeriStand 2013 SP1.  At the end of my test, I want to ensure the integrity of the test, which includes the audit of the FPGA interface is never late.

I first thought to expose the terminal 'Is?' late as a channel, but then I noticed it isn't really an account, it's just a flag.  In addition, it seems that this flag is not locked, it does report by iteration of loop interface.  This makes me think that I alarm an VeriStand on the later is for VeriStand FPGA interface design? channel.  Am I correct, and if not, how NOR have I use East late? terminal?

As the DMA in the FPGA nodes then never expire, there no sense watching the Timed Out? terminals on the FPGA.  But the effect of a timeout will appear in the East towards the end? Terminal Server.  I'm tempted to change the end is? U64 to a real number in the number of late? the defined indicators synchronize to the host VI.  is there a reason to not do this?

How VeriStand manages a FPGA end?  If the RT side of the DMA buffer became more complete, data from the FPGA would be more latent, which could lead to the instability of the system.  Hopefully the VeriStand engine should purge the latency of the data, but I don't see anything in the FPGA interface which would facilitate this.

    Thanks for your help,

    Steve K

    Hey Steve,

If the PCL NIVS reads this flag as true, it incrememnts the County of HP system channel.

For the question of FIFO depth: The PCL is always expected to read and write a # fixed packages each iteration (as defined by the XML) and FPGA always reads and writes the same number of packets of each loop of comm iteartion and since the timeout is set to-1... orders may not be combined. Packets act as a handshake.

  • using the usb key in veristand

    Hello

Use Embedded data logger custom peripheral in veristand we could record data to the tdms file format located in the "c:\logs" on RT PXI. If I want to access this file, I am the pxi start in windows and then I could only access the file for analysis. Its very difficult to access the file process because I have to start every time in windows mode. My qustion is can I connect the data on USB RT PXI controller instead of recording on HDD PXI RT as in cRIO, we give the path directly on the USB as «U:\»... » ?  And another option to access the RT file on the host...?

The channel of "Order Log" command the save operation of data inside the integrated data logger.  You can use this channel to open or close data files.  Valid values are:

    0: idle (no order)

1: open the file. Closes the previous file reference if it was open and opens a new file reference.

2: close the file. Close the reference of files without having to open a new file reference.

The Log command channel is reset to idle once the order is processed.

I address your requirement by writing regularly 1 on the control channel Log.  You can do this with a combination of channels, alarm and calculated procedure.  I do not expect the current file is available when you shut down the system down, that is only the second to last and previous newspapers will be valid.  There are other ways to accomplish your condition, but it seems simple to me.

    Hi vmvmvm,

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support!

We understand that your iPhone has sounded the alarm on a couple of occasions that you have never configured in the clock application. Because you have only noticed this problem since updating to iOS on iPhone, we perform an insulation here step to try to find out why this is happening.

We want to reinstall you iOS on your iPhone. This should not affect any of your data, but it is always advisable to make sure that you have a current backup in iTunes or iCloud. Backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - Apple Support

Once you have a current backup, follow the steps in the section "If your device turns on but hangs during startup" in this article: If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won't turn on - Apple Support

These steps will reinstall iOS. Keep in mind that these steps were written for a different issue, but they will always help us to further isolate the situation. Test your iPhone as usual once the relocation over and let us know if the problem persists.

    Hello

I have a weird problem in the latest version of iOS 10 (on an iPad) where I select a certain song of the stock clocks app to play as an alarm, but it defaults the sound "radar." This does not happen with all the songs, but it comes up with a few constantly. Does anyone else know this and all solutions? Thanks for your help!

    Hello dwr130,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that after installing iOS 10 on your iPad, when you select a certain song to clock app to use it as a default alarm sound of the radar. This is not the case with all the songs, but it comes up with a few very regularly. I can understand wanting to use many songs for your alarms, I have this on my iPhone.

It seems that the clock app is not responding as it should. I suggest go ahead and force close the clock application, then set a new alarm, and retest with these same songs. The following article will help you: force a nearby application on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

  • iPhone lack of quarter alarm messages

With the new iOS 10 and watch 3.0 alarm messages that I put on my phone is no longer appear on the watch. It is quite annoying because now when the alarm on the watch I don't know what it is for without checking the phone. This worked perfectly on older versions of watch and is mystifying as to why someone might think it's a good idea to eliminate that from the latest version of the software.  I talked with people in the Apple store Genius Bar and they agree, it changed and our just as puzzled as to why.  I use several alarms to keep me the calendar during the day and I want the watch to display what the alarm is for. I hope that Apple will fix this in the next version. Does anyone know the status on this?

    Hello

I'm afraid that no one here can tell you about what of Apple's unannounced plans (there is a community based on the user).

If you do not want to ask Apple to restore the ability of the watch to display labels for the alarms set to the matched iPhone, you can do it here:

  • How to set an alarm on my watch unless it is also put on my iPhone?

I have a Apple Watch (series 2) and an iPhone 6, two running the most recent versions of the OS. I put an alarm on my watch and when it fires, it is also an alarm on my iPhone. I just want to turn off the alarm on my watch and I want to shut up my iPhone.

    How can I do this?

If you set an alarm on the watch itself, and he made his appearance in the list of alarms on the phone? Or is it just by alerting you on the phone?

From this page of the User Guide Apple Watch, http://help.apple.com/watch/#/apd27ce65478 , that it would work on the other hand, but an alarm on the Watch not push to the iPhone or the alert on the iPhone. I just tested this on my watch during the drafting of this response and an alarm on my watch was not on the phone or the alert on the phone. Is it possible that you did not create a new alarm, but rather edited a?  Sorry, is not of importance, like all of the alarms on the phone doesn't actually appear on the watch, only the alert is pushed to the watch.
