Yet the opatch here does not match:

OPatch Version: 11.2.0.3.6

I find cela a confusing and I do not have an account of updated anyway, so I don't think I've leveled back there:

The last PSU readme, I used sent me to 224346.1 to check the last opatch.  I really don't see anything useful here, but I have not watched the video.  I have something called 'Cloud Control', but it is not mentioned in this document.

is there a roadmap to develop quarterly patches for all parts of the OEM?  Should not be a?  It is quite confusing.

Yes, this is to confuse opatch under SGD House version you found is you want to search for.  Download the latestpatch 6880880 patch 11.1.0.x.x o - what is the version.  (Not 11.2 and not 12.1).

  • Versions Opatch and backward compatibility.

Hi all, regarding the Opatch, have always used Opatch to patch a database of the same version, i.e. O Patch 10.2 . 0.3.2 patch a 10.2.0.3 database.

I now need to apply additional patches which requires O Patch 10.2 . 0.3.3 or higher. I downloaded the latest version of Opatch of Metalink (10.2.0.4.8), but I just want to confirm that Opatch 10.2. 0.4.x can be used to patch a 10.2.0.3 database?

I made a lsinventory opatch against the ORACLE_HOME, that works, but looking a little more before confirmation apply patches (i.e. don't want to corrupt the inventory etc..)

    Thanks for any advice.

Yes, you can use Opatch for that matter.

So please help me out in this matter.

    Thank you

    Ahmed.

    Hello

If you want to upgrade the database 11g and the application of R12 in the same window of downtime, then do not follow the document ID 881505.1 and rather follow Doc ID 1058763.1.

If you want to upgrade to 11g and stay on 11i for awhile, you can then follow the document 881505.1. Patching must be performed while the application is down.

The examples CD is in 6 of the fix 13390677file. When you click Download, you will get a list of 7 files.

Download files 1,2 and 6 only.

    Download OPatch step by step:

    1. Go to the download of patches
    2. Type the patch # 6880880
    3. Enter your platform (x 86 Linux, for example)
    4. Look for a patch with the description "hotfix version 11.2.0.3.10 of Oracle software OPatch publishes 11.2.0.x (April 2015).
    5. Download the patch
    6. Unzip the file into the 11.2.0.4 oracle home (unzip qo - p6880880_112000_LINUX.zip d $ORACLE_HOME)
    7. Check the version (version opatch)

The error is misleading and I met usually this when I wrong specified the location of the hotfix.

That group of hotfixes contains actually the 2 patches, and you should not reference the subfolder 13919095 directly, but the location where you have unpacked.

Lets say you have unzipped the patch to/home/oracle/patch, then you should:

    opatch auto /home/oracle/patch -oh ...

    and is not

    opatch auto /home/oracle/patch/13919095 -oh ...

    a. I have tried to run the opatch including the absolute path of the directory ORACLE_HOME/OPatch and it works, please see below:

    #######################################################################################################################
    Oracle @ < Server >: [u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/db_1] $ $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch version
    Citing O Patch 11.1 .0.8.3

    OPatch Version: 11.1.0.8.3

    OPatch succeeded.

    b. then I checked the $PATH value and the ORACLE_HOME is included in the $PATH variable, please see below:

    #######################################################################################################################
    Oracle @ < Server >: [u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/db_1] $ echo $PATH
    /usr/Kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/Home/Oracle/bin:/U01/app/Oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/Db_1/bin:/U01/app/Oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/Db_1/OPatch

    c. I have tried to run the path given for $PATH opatch, please find below the result:

    #######################################################################################################################
    Oracle @ < Server >: [u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/db_1] $ /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/db_1/OPatch/opatch version
    Citing O Patch 11.1 .0.8.3

    OPatch Version: 11.1.0.8.3

    OPatch succeeded.

    d. but if I'll just run the following command, encounter the error:

    #######################################################################################################################

    lsinventory opatch

    Oracle @ < Server >: [u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/db_1] $ opatch lsinventory
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/opatch/OPatch

OPatch failed with the error code 1

    version opatch

    Oracle @ < Server >: [u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/db_1] $ opatch version
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/opatch/OPatch

OPatch failed with the error code 1

Just wanted to know the cause of this, if the opatch works correctly if executed with absolute path and if its properly defined in the $PATH variable
but meeting error will simply run as:
    $opatch < command options >

    Additional information:
Here is the version of java and perl installed in the box

    OPatch succeeded.

My question is why opatch is called in this way?

    Hello

It would be somehow or accidentally opatch was copied into this directory. To confirm this post please exit

    $> ls-l /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.7.4/db_1/bin/opatch

If it exists in there then delete it

    Hope this helps

    See you soon

I am running HP - UX, I can't get success in the application of the opatch, why he wouldn't?

Yes, because at the moment you are uzipping the Opatch utility.
There is no need to do anything else with it. Just unzip and you're - ready to use.

The same information can be obtained from the readme:
    How to install the utility:
    ---------------------------
To install this patch simply extract the zipped file
use unzip or winzip, depending on the platform. You must extract
the zip directly under the ORACLE_HOME.

To check the version of the opatch utility installed in step above,
go to the OPatch directory and run 'version opatch.

  • Application of updated critical for Oracle XE?

I see that the 2014 January Critical Patch Update (CPU) has been published:

Package Oracle Critical Patch Update - January 2014

My employer requires all Oracle instances to be updated immediately. However, I have an instance of Oracle XE on my machine to Windows development and it doesn't seem to be in any way I can find to apply the patch:

-XE is a free product, yet access to patches of the CPU page requires an identifier of support. The OPatch tool Access also requires a support identifier.

-Even * with * support identifier, there is no list for 11.2.0.2 patch (the version of the latest version of XE); It is 11.1.0.7 or 11.2.0.3.

-Even if it * were * a fix for this version, OPatch seems to require the presence within ORACLE_HOME of Java and some Perl tools that are missing from the installation of XE.

Any thoughts on how to proceed? If I can't patch my instance of XE, I'll have to uninstall it. I write a lot of ETL scripts that use SQL Loader, but is not available as a stand-alone SQL more how installation, so I'm kind of at an impasse. Any help much appreciated. Ideally, I'd like to find a step by step description how apply the fix. It is difficult for me to believe that Oracle would require just every instance of XE in the world to run in a State with known security vulnerabilities.

You can apply patches to the instance of XE - How to get and install the 10.2.0.3 Oracle Xe (express) patch

    Hi Moh,

I see that there are two times "bin" which is in your JAVA_HOME path: /home/oracle/java/jdk1.7.0_45/bin/bin/java

Above indicates that by mistake you may have set JAVA_HOME=/home/oracle/java/jdk1.7.0_45"/ bin" (this bin directory should not be here in JAVA_HOME)

Where as the correct JAVA_HOME for your environment should be: /home/oracle/java/jdk1.7.0_45
