Very high values of CPU Vcore

Hello

After that I noticed that my MacBook Pro (15 ", mid-2014, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, El Capitan) started running without apparent heavy load, I installed iStat Menus to check the temperature of my hardware.

The time seemed right, however I noticed that the CPU VCore values were extremely high, being around 1.77 V, while I knew that they were not supposed to exceed 1.40!

I tried to reset the SMC, but statistics are the same.

Here is a screenshot of them:

I'm not overclocking my computer.

The values of VCore supposed to be so high on this model? I tried searching online, I found another user with the same questions but no answers.

Hi Oceansoul221,

I have exactly the same problem after I noticed that my macbook runs just stupidly hot, I think I use the same as you, but with the 2.5 Ghz i7 (which I think is the i7-4870HQ model) and the GT 750 M. Given my experience with desktop processors a Vcore of 1, 8V is crazy, which probably makes me think the reporting software may be wrong (may be an estimate rather than an actual reading). Or it could also be this laptop CPU variants are very different to the Office counter parties (but I could not find the technical information of intel). I checked the Vcore on an old laptop of mine using an i5 - 2520 m and is not further 1.150V on the vcore. I contacted the manufacturer of the app and intel, for more information. Will run some tests on my bootcamp windows partition (where I have a better knowledge of the measurement software), will let you know.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

• High values ready CPU

I checked my VMs (in the top list of resources) and some of the virtual machines 'CPU' values ready medium arround 5000 milliseconds (statistics on the last day)

I have a lot of 2 vCPU VMs. The each ESX in the Cluster CPU usage is close to 25%.

Should I reduce the vCPUs count as fast I can do to get the best values of loan from CPU?

Hello

Don't download surprised when you see 'high' ready CPU values. On the performance tab, it is always more difficult to know how 'high' high is really.

I wrote a blog on this topic: http://erikzandboer.wordpress.com/2009/01/30/performance-tab-numbers-demystified-by-erik-zandboer/

In a Word, you should check how many samples is retained when you look at the chart 'last day '. If everything is left to the default value, you have one seems of (I think) 5 minutes.

So, do the math, you get: 5 minutes seems is 5601000 = 300,000 milliseconds. So if you see 5000 millseconds CPU ready time, it's really only 5000 / 300,000 = 0.016 or 1.6%. Which is actually pretty good!

• The CPU suddenly very high low host CPU

Hi all

I was struggling with a particular host for awhile and am unable to access the root of the cause. What we have so far:

Physics:

1 host, 2 quadcores with HT technology (total 8 cores, 16 logic due to HT), 24 GB of ram

HP Proliant DL380 G6

Virtual:

1 x Windows 2008R2 DC/FS 2vcpu

1 x Windows 2008R2 SQL 4vcpu

1 x Windows 2008R2 Exchange 2010 1vcpu

1 x Windows 2012R2 RDS currently 8vcpu

Recently, the old 2008R2 RDS has been replaced by the new 2012R2 RDS. This went well, nothing special, no complaints, that rent because it was quite a bit of snappyier than the last.

Then, (and I did not understand what happened yet, could have been power failure) after about a week the Esxi host froze and we had to restart. Servers began and everything was fine, until the problems started.

The 2012R2 virtual machine currently maxing out at 100% cpu usage in Windows Task Manager, between all the virtual cores. This can be achieved by something as simple as the launch of chrome and Outlook at the same time. Performance on this virtual machine is terrible. All other virtual machines are affected also, extremely high CPU usage in Windows, maxing out even with simple tasks. If I open vSphere and check the CPU usage, it's nowhere near capacity. The RDS virtual machine did not exceed 3000 mhz maximum.

What we have tried so far:

-Reboot the host

-Restart the virtual machine

-The power management has changed compared to the High Performance HP OS Control setting, and the powersetting to high performance in vsphere. I can see through esxtop that all hearts are at c0 permanently. (Could not verify this before because of ILO2 failing to display this when HP high performance mode is activated)

-J' tried all sorts of Vcpu assignments, until 1 vcpu/1core 8 sockets on the 2012RDS. There is no pool of resources, there is no reserves (I tried those who, unfortunately, no effect)

-Close all VM except one (to check if there is some sort of contention cpu), always the same.

I think something is gone belly up when the host rebooted, simply unable to understand why, and apart from the crazy CPU usage, the server running now stable.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Have us shut completely the host, took off all power physically and reconnected. After that, CPU returned to normal. Upgrade to ESXi for good measure.

Hello

I have some troubleshooting by creating rules to HFM 11.1.1.3. I declarate a table where an account data are stored. There should be a stored digital data in another account of HFM (e.g. "EB_MITTEL"). The stored data are much higher than the value in the logfile ('write2File") showed. If I divide this value by 100000000000000 so good value.

Value in the data grid: 164.928.691.588.785 ("'. ' separator = of thousands")

VB script using string to convert numbers in some languages require special attention during the handling of numbers. (French, German and other who use commas as the decimal separator).

Internally, HFM VB Scripts use periods (.) as the decimal separator. One solution is to force the use of decimals and force the script engine to use decimal numbers by declaring the local to be English in the United States with:

b = setLocale("en-us")

• Very high CPU usage in svchost during playback of an event in a major newspaper of the events using WMI

Hello

I have a very high utilization of the processor in the process 'svchost.exe LocalServiceNetworkRestricted' during playback of an event in an event log in Windows 2008 64 SP02 using local or remote WMI. The same happens using Wbemtest or C++ WMI code. The use of WbemTest, "Open forum" (identical to one the GetObject of WMI API) read just one of recent events in the event log:

Win32_NTLogEvent.logfile = "application", recordNumber = 2615657 (in this case, it was the id since the last event in the very large to the Application event log)

takes 3/4 seconds consuming thant plus 50% of the monitored computer CPU. This only occurs when the event log is very large (in my case 1 million records), the event log contains about 10000 events just fine.

The problem is that I read the complete paper in a remote program and this product CPU usage charge too much CPU to the monitored computer. I do not read the newspaper of the events one by one, but I'm using WQL queries but I do some GetObjects and the peformance is really terrible.

Any idea what to change or search?

• TimesTen 11 g - direct connection jdbc get very high CPU usage

Hi guys,.

When I run my application with a direct connection, I get very high CPU usage... Can help me where can I fix this.
This is the configuration I have.

PermSize = 102400
TempSize = 2457

More, should one I include the LogBufferSize? How much should I put in it?

Thank you

John

Well, the point to keep in mind is that overall CPU utilization will not higher with direct mode with a local server. In fact, it will be a little weaker because of the much higher efficientcy of direct mode compared to client/server mode.

The usual rules apply here; You must decide on the maximum use of your machine (normally one trying to limit it to)<=60% for="" the="" most="" optimal="">

Then you need to see how your workload uses the CPU. with TimesTen there is no blocking operation within the database for a single application thread can, if it does not crash on all external events such as queue of messages, etc. I/O, usually consume a whole CPU core (a large volume of work in the process of transformation). If he asks you to this nature then you want to limit the number of concurrent threads to the smallest reasonable number. Assuming that the machine is running just the application and TimesTen and nothing else and that you wish to leave a carrot free for activity of DB o/s and the background (for example, journal of hot flashes and checkponting) then optimal throughput and response time will be reached with three concurrent threads hitting the database. You can run course with wires more than that but the flow will not be increased (in fact it will decrease somehwat due claim etc.) and response times will certainly increase. For this application profile you certainly wouldn't want to use more than 8 simultaneous maximum son.

At the other extreme is an application that has multiple concurrent threads, but where each thread spends much of its time waiting for some work to do and runs only makes for a short period of work process then returns to the wait. You can use several more concurrent threads than the hearts of processors for this application profiel. The optimal number will be determined by the specific workload, load CPU it generates and your maximum target of use of the system.

None of this is really specific TimesTen. The main differences that TimesTen brings all this are:

1. the workload of database now works on the same machine as the application rather than on a server separate from the DB so that it consumes resources on the application computer.

2. in general, database interactions will result not in any idle time from a point of view CPU usage (as a consequence of (1) above).

Ideally, your request will be designed and implemented so that the number of concurrent threads can be controlled as a parameter tunbable to allow you to adjust the workload generated by the application to the specific environment in which it runs.

• SG200 - 26 [FW - 1.1.2.0]-very high response time: > 1000 ms!

Hello

Problem: New SG - 200 26 Smart Switch with the latest Firmware - very high response time 500-800 ms

We have a router of EdgeMarc 4500 with 10 VPN tunnels at 10 locations of brach. SG-200 26 Smart Switch is connected to 7 servers (Terminal 2, SQL and others), all locations have 50 MB download and download 20 MB of Verizon FiOS Internet service speed.

Depending on the tool Kulvik, the response time of this switch is around 500ms. At the same time, the response time of the EdgeMarc 4500 router is around 40ms and less.

We have 60 remote desktop computers connected to our SQL Server database and 40 users of RDP via Remote Desktop. The configuration is the same for 3 years. But we change the switch HP 1800 - 24G of Cisco because of some failures of connection. For connection failures, we first think the old switch from HP, but it looks like problem with router EdgeMarc.

This response time is normal? I have attached two screenshots of Switch Cisco and response time for the past 24 hours EdgeMarc router according to the tool Kulvik. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Srinath,

Thank you for your participation in the community of support to small businesses. My name is Nico Muselle of Cisco Sofia HWC.

The response time of the switch can be considered quite normal. Reason for this is that the switch gives CPU priority to its actual tasks that would be sure to pass, lists of access, VLANs, QoS, multicast, and DHCP snooping etc etc. As a result, the switch itself ping response time does not show in any way the good operation of the switch.

I invite to try the rattling customers connected to the switch, you should be able to notice that the response time to customers are much lower than the response time of the switch itself.

I hope that answers your question!

Line 11 3000USD
Line 12 400USD

The report should show the line 1 to line 8 and line 11, line 12, because it is the higher cost of the value.
Thank you very much in advance.

If creating interactive reports look at results computed column with the rank function section.

You will need to move columns results in a Table off the results, and then filter on rank there. You should then rebuild your relationship off the coast of the new section of the Table or use the optimizer to re-associate report on board.

A unique approach I've seen is in your query Section sort in descending order on the fact, and then change the properties of the query to bring back only 10 lines - for top 10 records.

• Switching frequency of newspaper is very high

Oracle 10g
Sun Solaris

I came across a situation where the newspaper switching frequency becomes very high for a couple of daily hours and then returns to normal.

The increase in frequency occurs for about 6 to 8 hours daily. Then he is back to normal.

It's a situation where we have to change the size of the recovery log?

Define 'normal '. Set 'top '.

Just in the last hour, the log file switch happened on average 5 minutes.

Not bad. For me the 'high' is a minute or less. For me 'normal' is 15-30 minutes.

I tend to change the size of the usual load will cause a switch just about 15 minutes. Then, I'll use ARCHIVE_LAG_TARGET to keep roughly 30 minutes for no charge. You might have other values.

There is also a checkpoint not complete messages in the alert log, but it was on
On 18 April. I don't see that today.

If the checkpoint is not complete is a regular show, try adding several groups of newspapers.

However, both the size of the log and journal County should not be affected if you do not actually experience a problem. Still, what you describe is a symptom, not a problem in itself.

It is a RAC database. This log switch occurs in only one instance. But not the other.

This is because the only case to charge more than others.

If the load must be balanced, check your listeners and your TNS customer configurations. It is not uncommon set lots of hit one and a single node, which can be tuned. Yet once, controlled by network settings.

Note that sizes of newspapers do not need to match each instance. Sizes are set according to the load expected on each node.

• Satellite A660-167 - audio latency very high indeed

Hello guys.

I have a Toshiba A660-167 and I'm having a problem with the audio latency, it is actually very high.
I am using Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit and I already tried using windows 7 32-bit and windows Xp but the problem remains.

Toshiba already tried to "fix" my problem, but as they said that my laptop works perfectly.
If someone knows something about the latency problem that his help will be very appreciated...

Thanks in advance

Hi dj_betty,

And how did you notice this problem of DPC latency?
You have a problem with noise or speakers as low volume or what?

I must say that my Satellite A660 runs great. I often listen to music with headphones or speakers in-house and have no problem at all. Music and video will be read correctly.

• Qosmio F30-140: Vista stopped and I heard a very high noise

Hello everyone

Really, I have a big problem
My operating system is Windows XP media center 2005 and it is written above (Designed for windows xp, Windows Vista capable)

2 last week I had installed windows Vista ultimate 32 bit and pilots of the Qosmio, but after 2 days when I worked in Microsoft office Word, the system stopped and I heard a very high noise of it (maybe the processor or fans) but he was really scared and immediately, I turned it of the power button.

This problem occurred 4 times through this time. I had installed windows xp again from the recovery disk and there is no problem and I installed Windows Vista again hard night but today in the morning the same problem again.

I don't really know how to fix this and I look forward to receiving help from you.

Hello

It s certainly nothing wrong with the firmware Toshiba VAP this nothing to do with your question, you issue sounds more like an overheating problem the OS freezes at a temperature inside the laptop.

Probably don t cooling modules run a full implementation because of the dust and debris inside the laptop.

The second reason why a laptop could overheat is the graphics driver installed _non-Toshiba_!
