• Strange sound problem with Satellite L740 TV outputs

  I'm having a strange problem here... I googled this several times already, and I only found the same solution mentioned several times and the given solution * not * work is to me.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite L740 running Windows 7 Home Edition Premium, with a 64-bit Intel Core i5 - 2410M @ 2.30 GHz CPU and 4 GB of physical RAM. My problem is the following...

  There are two different TVs in my house that I regularly connect my laptop via HDMI cable.
  The first is mine, and I can get sound through the TV very well when I plug it in.

  Sometimes, however, I will disconnect the computer from my TV and not get any sound through the laptop because he's trying to output to external speakers to TV.

  More importantly, when I connect my laptop to my * roommate * TV (the same make as mine, you mind), I can not all the sounds of his TV at all.

  This is a recent problem. Until this morning, I was able to get noise from two TV very well and only sometimes had problems with sound through the laptop itself, which has been easily resolved by restarting.

  It's just a hunch, but it's almost like * doesn't realize that there are two different TVs * that it is connected to my computer. Maybe it's stupid, I don't know, but be it, it's frustrating...

  * ALSO: * I've seen dozens of suggestions that I put my HDMI audio as default device. Yes, I did. It wasn't the issue. Is the same to activate my audio drivers in Device Manager. They are all turned on, so it's not that either. Any ideas?

  It's a bit strange if you connect the laptop to two identical televisions and use the same HDMI cable to the TV.

  Unfortunately, it all works automatically and I put t know if you can force your laptop to recognize two TVs on the same path.

  In the worst case you have to do it manually in the sound properties > playback devices.
  If it works with four mouse clicks you can change.

  I tested my laptop with two different TVs.
  At home, I have a Toshiba TV and at the office we use Sony. On both automatically get sound on the TV speakers.

  If you will be able to find the solution please let us know.

• Strange sound problem 1800-314

  A strange sort of wheezing sound is coming from the fan area, I suspect it's something to do with the processor.
  I recently set up a new fan (from the model 1800-914) which improved playback of DVD (no longer ignore), but the overall performance of the laptop are slow at times, especially when its been over 2 hours.
  What, if any, upgrades processor/replacements are available to me?
  How would I ask a new processor?

  Hello

  It may be that your old Fan has been damaged, but one simple change of another does not solve the problem.
  As far as I know Toshiba a different thermal glue do for different models and processors!

  So, it may be that false thermal scope glue causes failure even because the heat from the processor cannot be moved and the fan runs all the time!
  Also your processor can be damaged in the future!
  Normally only the same processor will work without problem in your 1800-314. Other processors can operate, but need it know for your own!

• Very strange Vista problem when behind a switch

  I bought the router WRT610N along a LINKSYS EG008W 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Workgroup Switch. In my small office (4 closed offices and an area central + kitchen + room + storage + a bowl of chocolate for my pregnant wife), we were using our ISP (Bell) modem/router (Wi - Fi + 4 ports RJ-45) with switch 8 old ports. There are 3 Mackintosh a XP and a Vista workstations and a D - Link DNS-323 NAS on the local network, + XP/Vista/Mac laptop wireless now and then. I wanted to update our stuff for a flow rate of localized Gigabyte (still looking autour to build a Xeon server + file server), with Wireless N Dual-Band, and the following configuration has worked right away without installing anything same software-wise, nor the need to reset - restart a computer or device: all records shared Internet connection was available immediately which was very satisfying. I even bought Cisco Network Magic Pro 5.5 and I'm glad I did, this is a really well done and intuitive graphic interface to manage small business networks (one license for PC stations up to 8 + 8 Mac stations), if not the best out there for its target market niche and prices vary.

  However, there is a confused about Vista glitch: I have to fix directly on one of the ports on the WRT610N, it won't work if I try behind a switch box (although it works for all other operating systems), using the following network configuration:

  1. all the workstations are connected to the switch, focused on one of the ports of WRT610N
  2. The Internet WRT610N port Bell's DSL modem
  3. SIN D - Link DNS - 323 and the port 3 WRT610N
  4. EG008W Switch 4 port WRT610N 1 port
  5. Workstation to the switch EG008W 2 Vista port
  6. Workstation XP and switch EG008W 3 port
  7. Workstations Mac to switch EG008W ports 1, 5, and 6

  From the XP desktop, I see Macs and access the NAS. From a Mac, I can see + access the XP and the NAS. Vista station connects any behind the switch EG008W: I * must * plug into the router, WRT610N, something I don't want to because the switch is there to serve as a wall mounted RJ45 plugs into each office (where the Mac XP and Vista workstations are located)... Any help or link to a relevant reference would be greatly appreciated.

  Kevj, thanks for answer you, I came here to close the topic because I put the finger on the problem and it is resolved: the problem lies elsewhere, it is not the calbling or some other hardware problem. I have replace the Vista box by a mobile XP, using the same wiring right and everything worked well, he wasn't a wiring problem... Note that the workstation is a Dell Studio which comes with a Realteck Gigabit controller box (so I guess that many other models/brands also provide this same controller, which means that many other users can know this problem).

  Here's what I did:

  • I got rid of Vista by installing Windows 7 and everything worked fine!
  • I then published an update of Windows from the Microsoft site, which offered a patch for the familly Realteck GBE (among other patches) controller
  • After restarting the computer, the network was not accessible more while the Win7 box is behind the Swithcher: it behaved exactly as when it was Vista (indicating that the adapter was unplugged when behind the selector and then giving access while behind router WRT)!
  • So I restored the last just restore point prior to the update of the controller and got everything back to normal; I then did another session of MS Windows Update without the Realteck driver patch, and everything worked well.

  Conclusion: DO NOT update your controller driver Realteck GBE from Microsoft, whether for Vista or Windows 7, it has a bug which takes place whenever your Vista/Win7 box is behind a DMZ sub-segment of LAN using a blender (switch-router-router/DSL-ISP).

  Note: the WRT610N works like a charm! It is plugged with a RAID0 of DNS-323 1 TB NAS, one 8-port Gigabit switch power supply 3 macs, 1 XP and 1 Windows 7, Wi - FI works well enough (G mode, while the band n is open - I don't have a camera of 5 GHz yet so I can't say for this FREQUENCY range) and I left the own DSL access available Point. Which means that there are 3 Access Points: one directly on the DSL router that leaves the LAN in a DMZ (cannot be seen or accessed from the mobile) and 2 more on the WRT610N dual band access not only to the Internet but also for shared resources). Blue color for the port connected to the dwitcher, which means a Gigabit local LAN, and green port for the DNS-323 whitch works to 100 MB (unfortunately they still do not have a Gigabit NAS). I am very happy with the product, more when combined with Network Magic Pro.

• (Very strange) wireless problem!

  I posted this question in the Turkish language; now give a try in English.

  -Problem:

  Wireless network connection drops, although it seems connected in the Panel (right @bottom).

  -Operating system:

  Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit

  -Material:

  5340 Airties wireless modem.

  Samsung laptop NP355V5C-S03TR.

  Atheros AR9485WB-EG (driver version: 9.2.0.470)

  -Briefly:

  First of all, I am connected to my network wireless without any problem (after the first start). Then 2-3 minutes later, web pages start to come, as if I have lost my wireless connection, although the icon in the control panel (bottom right) shows that I'm always connected. I click the icon and then wireless click my name of wireless, web page and then starts to load.

  For 1-2 minutes, my connection works normal and after this period, new web pages are starting to no longer charge again. Then begins to load once completed the procedure as explained above: the top wireless icon, click my name wireless, click on the page starts to load again.

  Does anyone have an idea on what's wrong with my system?

  -n.b.:

  1. I installed Visual Studio Express and then made security update. Not very sure but my problem probably started after the VS Express security update.

  2. my other equipment (computer hp laptop with broadcom wireless hardware) is no problem of the same type, so I think that this question is not source from wireless modem.

  A recent response to my Turkish post solved my problem. The following lines are what I did to solve the problem, for someone facing the same problem can make use.

  Open terminal (command line) as an administrator and then run the commands:

  1. "netsh int ip reset a.txt"

  2 "netsh winsock reset"

  3. "netsh winhttp reset proxy'

  4. "netsh advfirewall reset."

  5. "ipconfig/flushdns"

  6 reboot.

• Very strange backup problem

  Hi guys,.

  Since a few days I have a strange problem really saved my vector in AI 10 format. (must be THE 10).

  I save my file with cs5 as a file have 10.
  So far no problem.
  But then when I open the AL10 drop in cs5 that it does become a pixel bitmap?
  But I have the feeling that this illusion is having a problem with it.
  Because, if I open the same file in photoshop I can zoom in endlessly without loss of quality. So its still vector!
  Also if I open the file in the preview software Mac I can zoom in pixel style without any loss of quality.

  The only thing that I realized is that this problem seems to occur after I put everything in a clipping mask.
  If I record exactly the same without the mask, then I did no harm to open it as a vector.

  Usually, google allows to solve all the problems. But in this case I really don't know what goes wrong.

  Try it with a clipping mask layer instead of using the mask at the level of the group. That seems to work.

  If this is not viable option for you, you can save it in format AI 10 without the clipping mask, then reapply in AI 10.

• New ENVY 17-j092nr very strange sound/no sound

  I just bought a HP ENVY 17-j092nr 17.3 "laptop with Windows 8, and out of the box, there is a major issue of his. It's hard to explain, so I'll try my best. It is a certain type of sound from speakers but it's extremely studdered and virtually inaudible. the volume controls do raise and lower the volume of the sound. I tried the helmet, and there is no sound at all. It would be like listening to a cell phone call, cut and heard only a split second of sound followed by a half second pause time and again. This is for all of the sound of the video system to the game sounds. I'm not really sure where to start with this and any information would be greatly appreciated.

  Don't bother, I returned this bunch of junk and never looked back. I'm just glad the place I bought has a two week return policy. I don't look at HP again all my computing needs.

• Lenovo g550 VERY strange keyboard problem

  Sometimes, when I type on my Lenovo laptop g550, the letters sometimes will stop. • Strange mouse problem

  I have a new laptop HP 8440 and I'm having a very strange mouse problem.  The point of the mouse on the screen from time to time will crawl slowly towards the top of the screen.  This occurs when you use the Touchpad mouse or when you use a USB optical mouse.  The mouse buttons remain active and navigation mouse continues to function (so I can pull the mouse down of his craawl), but he continued to creep upward.

  This does not happen all the time and 'fixed' after 5 minutes of me being frustrated.  I don't think this is driver-related, but my mouse driver is 5.1.2600.0

• Can someone help me with this problem of very strange wireless networking? (intermittent connectivity)

  So I'm having a very strange problem with my wireless adapter. (surprise, right?) Let me explain just what is happening here: I will use my computer, online, do a lot of things like play games or surf the web. Randomly, for no apparent reason, my wireless adapter disconnects the current network disconnect myself from everything I do. When I check my available wireless networks, I can't see a single network. This has happened to me for a while. When he started it first, I tried many things including the uninstallation of a reinstall of my adapter without success. I have to restart my computer to fix. This happens from time to time and has not stopped since the first occurrence. Originally, if I would try to find a network or uninstall/reinstall, my computer would be soft locking and I would be able to use the windows closed functionality, it would just hang out there indefinitely until I hard loaded. • Very strange problem with quick mask

  Hoping someone can help me with a very strange problem that just started to happen when I enter the quick mask in PS CS5. Let me guide you through the problem.

  (1) I opened my image in PS, go in the Mode mask quick and 'paint' my image in translucent red with a brush (100% of opacity, brush, etc. normal mode).

  

  (2) once I fully painted my picture in translucent red, I leave the Quick Mask mode and the area outside the translucent red is selected. I hit M for the marquee tool, right-click on the picture I have just painted and choose 'Select inverse', which then selects everything within the translucent red area (note that I made this a million times over the years).

  

  (3) my image is now selected. In general, what I do now is cut (cmd + x) that selected the image and paste it into another canvas, generally where is my biggest project. Whenever I did it, the image cuts and fits exactly as it is seen and leaves an empty space in the original image. However, when I cut it now, it seems to cut a transparent version, leaving behind a transparent 'ghost' of the original image.

  

  (4) then when I paste the image cut in a new canvas, it is transparent as a default value.

  

  I checked the transparency of all the paintings, and they are set to 100%. As I already said, I cut from images of no solid media using the quick mask all the time and it's never happened before. In fact, I made this weekend and it has only just begun in the last hour, so I think I clearly something clicked or activated a parameter without realizing account!

  In considering this explanation, I hope someone knows what is causing my pictures to cut and paste transparent after that I used the quick mask. It certainly is driving me crazy!

  Any advice or assistance would be most appreciated.

  In your first screenshot the color of foreground in the Toolbox is not 100% black (RGB 0,0,0)

  Until you try the quick mask, press D to set the foreground on black (RGB 0,0,0)

  I have a very strange problem, we have two cubes recipes and Wrkforce. There is basically two forms Web - one associated with Wrkforce and other recipes.
  
  In the Webform Wrkforce, users between rates of missing data and record forms and essentially running torque of BR that aggregates the entire enterprise, centre of cost, employee the individual Q and that inturn put up-to-date "Company absenteeism".
  Inturn 'Total company absenteeism' updates "Stored absenteeism" cube recipes.
  
  Labor
  Rates of absenteeism (value of the entry level 0)
  Total company absenteeism (dynamic Calc) ('Absentee rate'-> 'Company'-> "cost Centre"-> "employee")
  
  Recipes
  Stored Absenteeism (Stored) ("absenteeism stored" = @XREF ("_WFCube_", "Total absenteeism business")
  
  Now the problem is that all of a sudden the BR have stopped working... nothing changed... everything is still however "Absenteeism Total company" is not being calculated and thus stored absenteeism is not getting updated.
  
  Please can anyone suggest what could be the problem? Or where I can look for answers.

• Weird sound problem Feedback

  After reformatting my computer, I installed all my drivers and everything worked well, except that I had a strange sound feedback problem that I have not been able to understand since (it was rained a year). I play online games with my friends and we use the voicechat programs and if they speak when I do they hear themselves very hard and also that they can hear all the sounds (video game sounds, music, anything really) coming from my computer, same with my microphone and headphone unplugged.
  
  Now, I thought that it was a problem with my computer, but my friend recently reformatted his computer even and he installed the Realtek HD Audio driver via the product page of our computer on the site of HP as well, and now it has the same problem. So it seems to be a fixable software issue so I hope someone can help me finally solve this problem!
