Hello

do you get the strange lines before even loading Windows? You should normally get a TOSHIBA logo when you feed the machine. Are the lines even then? If so, your device needs service!

Good luck

My P20 display matched green vertical lines turned on. The laptop boots. The lines on the screen are also on an external monitor. I guess it's a problem of the graphics controller. Is it possible to fix this?

    Hello

Yes, it is possible to repair, but it will cost a lot of money!
In this case the whole motherboard must be replaced, and as you've probably experienced the motherboard is expensive parts for laptop!

So either you're going to buy a new motherboard or you are trying to find the second hand one I prefer the second hand motherboard or the unit!

    HI khadija.

you wrote your p20's new ad out of the box, then you use the operating system preinstalled Toshiba, not you?

You can try to reinstall the graphics driver (Toshiba Tools & Utilities CD or you go in https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com - Driver download and choose your machine). Compare the two driver versions ad install the newest one!

    What resolution do you use?

Your secod problem can be solved if you check your settings in the Toshiba Power Saver. Perhaps, you set its default value. If this does not resolve the problem, you must reinstall the energy saver!

Tip: You can also use the Mode shows up. This mode stops the laptop and the power is off. At the next startup mode will point load of a hard disk image and you can work! It is faster that normal startup, and all power is off in Hibernation mode.

  • Qosmio G30: blue vertical lines and crash dump blue screen

    I have a Qosmio G30, model No. PQG32C-AV605E with BIOS Version 3.40.
I want to update 3.90, but I can't get into Windows.

How update the BIOS without windows available?
    Y at - it a utility BACK?

If so, please send and I will download it or send me an email on where to download.
The G30 that I has vertical lines blue on the screen when the computer starts in VGA mode entering into Windows for the first time.

But the machine can not get into windows, it freezes and dumps and restarts before that.
I replaced the RAM with new RAM, but it has no effect.

I ran the diagnostics utility and hard drives are OPTIMAL in RAID 1, so no errors there.
Reinstalling Windows went well: I can't do it in VGA mode without lines.

Toshiba technical support told me that an upgrade of BIOS fix it.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

have you tried to plug the external monitor? If it still shows blue vertical lines, the reason is a failure of the graphics card. (You can also reinstall Windows to check the related issue of f it's Os). Otherwise, contact the after-sales service.

  • Qosmio G15: Green vertical lines on the screen

All started an ordinary day, when I was playing music on my iTunes.
All of a sudden my screen went black and the music stopped, but my power button is always blue. Since then, whenever I try to start it, it goes on the Qosmio screen and Windows XP screen and plays the startup sound, but there all those green vertical lines on the screen. And then it goes black and tsays in this way.

I was able to use Windows VGA (whatever that means) with lines all over the screen, but I am not able to start normally. Does anyone have any suggestions or have had the same problem? Please help me!

I was watching a movie on DVD WIN and froze my TECRA M2 I restarted, I noticed blue vertical lines on the windows on the screen, then the loading screen went white, I restarted the pc and it Gauthier go beyond screen black screen of toshiba. Some people told me that it is the other HDD VGA. What do you think?

    Hello

For me, it certainly looks like the graphics card failure!
It's really bad, because for the most part to the whole motherboard must be replaced! :(
But to be 100% sure the diagnostic test is necessary.

I think you should contact the ASP in your country. Guys to explain the situation and ask for clarification.

Maybe your warranty is valid? In this case all replacements would be FRO free!
Usually the guarantee must be valid for 24 months if you have saved this notebook on the Toshiba page.

  • Qosmio G10 begins with vertical lines on the screen

    Hello, can anyone help?

When I try to start my sign qosmio G10 comes on with vertical lines on the screen. And the screen goes black and I can only hear the fan.
In VGA mode, it begins upward, but always with the lines on the screen.
Is there something wrong with the video card? In my view, that there are more people with this problem.
    Toshiba offered little help?

I'm 'out out of warranty '. I need to by a new complete motherboard or y at - it another option? Replace the video card?

    Hello

Its a shame about the warranty because you ask the service partner Toshiba for the verification of the laptop and this procedure would be free. You know, the warranty would cover the audit of the laptop.

But I would say the external display connection and then you can check if the same vertical lines appear on the external display.
If you see the lines on the second monitor, then I guess it could be something wrong with the graphics card or motherboard.

I think that this procedure is the best way to find out what could be the problem, but anyway, I think you should ask a technician for assistance if you want to solve this problem.

PS: Have you tried to reinstall or update the graphics driver? I think you should do it but I don't know if it will help you, but you know Mr. try is free ;)

One of my friends had a similar problem with the vertical lines on other mobile manufacturing, and it was a WLan cable which was responsible for the strange lines on the screen.

  • Dell Latitude E6400 LCD / LED video screen has partial display of vertical lines

    Hello

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 on which display LED screen / video shows the stable vertical lines in the right half of the screen (partial view on the left side is good, see photo). I have already tested the external VGA port - it is displayed correctly on an external LCD display. The vertical lines are constant and the same brightness, regardless of the position of the lid of the laptop. This could be a problem with the inverter or the water of the LED screen? Or something else? Thanks in advance for any comments.

    P. S. Please note that glow Golden on the top left of the screen is just a reflection of ambient light.

It is not the inverter (assuming that the display has a);  who simply controls the backlight.  It may or may not be the cable - it's not likely.  It resembles a billboard damaged.

  • Pavilion DV5-1120us display vertical lines of dysfunction.

My laptop HP Pavillion DV5-1120us/entertainment (running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 with all updates) normally displays for a few seconds then the monitor displays narrow vertical lines. Whenever it does so, the lines are of different colors. The laptop freezes and I have to manually stop and restart in safe mode. The only way that he will not have this problem, is if I DO NOT load the graphics drivers ATI Radeon. Whenever I have reload the drivers, the unit crashes again with the problem of the vertical line. I can run it in safe mode or without updating and loading the drivers ATI Radeon for days and not had any problems. It doesn't happen until I reload the ATI Radeon drivers. I went on the site of HP and the ATI site and tried driver downloads, and both create this crash. They can run for 30 minutes after the initial pilot reinstall the crash before the first episode, and the vertical line. Later, it will happen on every 10 minutes until I restore to a point before the ATI or HP driver install.

Please provide a solution to eliminate this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

I guess the left most likely explanation is that it is actually a problem with the chip itself: this may explain why it works ok with VGA drivers as they don't stress about the adapter.  It may be useful to make a repair shop of local computer watch - my best guess is that the chip has bad connection at the Mo and may need to reinvest, but that's just a guess.

The guy on the link below may be useful to meet - it has a good reputation for fixing this kind of problem and if he can't fix it, it loads only $29.99.  At least it's something to consider.

    Hope you find this sorting.

  • Vertical lines problem

    Hello guys,.

I have a MacBook Pro 17' Early 2011 model. It shows on the screen 5 red vertical lines and a blue vertical line. When the screenshot was taken, it does not show one of these vertical lines there. I'm so not if it's software problem or hardware problem. Help, please.

More than likely a graphic card problem/failure.

  • Vertical lines in staircase at the start

    Hello

Recently, my Early 2011 MacBook Pro 15 "showed vertical lines which were zig-zags in shape. Color was a little tinted air (barely) and the black vertical splitter bar, you see when you scan with four fingers between the offices appeared intermittently. Finally after 5 minutes it would go back to normal. This time that happened 2 or 3 times in a week, then didn't happen again for a few weeks. When she reappeared then, he remained longer and eventually repeated once again.

Now, last time I checked, after having a Service authorised Apple centre run diagnostics (file system and hard drive checked OK, they said that "this problem is known to this particular age model") he was sitting on the bar of the progression for 2 hours Apple logo screen to halfway through the zig - zag lines before I turned off for good.

The thing that bothers me is service technology said it is common for this computer at this age. What the likelihood is that he knows that for sure because all Early 2011 MacBook Pro's today are the same age and I can't imagine having experienced them this often enough to use as their diagnosis.

Does anyone have experience or thoughts on this subject?

I don't think it's common as tech service says, your MacBook Pro is somewhere something wrong.
