VGA to RCA?

I bought a RCA cable in offline mode in the hope that I could connect my laptop to my tv VGA. The cable has a vga connection I plug it into my computer and the normal CAR taken at the other end. When I plug everything I'm not mount and report on television. Is there hope for this cable or buy the wrong thing?

According the info... the cable you

  • Confused T400 VGA to RCA? ARGH!

Well, this new computer has asking me for help for the simple task of connecting a T400 confused to an old analog TV. I've never seen a VGA port on your laptop before. All my laptops have a plural mini-jack, which branched into 3 RCA jacks-one yellow for video and red and white for audio-all of a stream of the singular of the computer. I found this very well! Now I have a machine extraterrestrial with an unusual configuration.

I found VGA to RCA cable adapters but colorful on the mats were red green and blue! ARGH! I don't know what to buy to get the laptop audio and video on a common analog television. Used to be very simple. Should I now one two cables for audio and another for video? What is the problem with the VGA port? I do not like. The audio on the laptop is very bad... he can barely hear blaring in front of it! My guess is that the VGA port on the side is for video only. I just need a yellow RCA plug on the end for the connection with video-OK TV? Then I'll just need a common mini-plug with the two RCA plugs on the end for audio... Why I wasn't watching this before I bought the weird machine?

Thanks for your useful link - oh crazy moderator with modulation information! I understand how something like that would drive someone crazy. I was frustrated after a long query. Because I've had my laptop, I couldn't get a handle on how to connect on an analog TV and I've had it for six months. I would like to see which cable recommended seller looks like, since I specifically a desired yellow RCA jack in my request to him on the phone. I have a degree in multimedia, but it is disheartening to fully understand a computer.

I appreciate the link. Looks like a tv with a Lenovo solution will cost more and add another piece of equipment in my travel bag. Customers usually have more former county sets on it or be ill-prepared. Still, not everyone has DTV - in every room. Your answer is the best that I got, with an explanation-all this with credentals. Crazy? I feel your desire to help and teach the fools of time, not even ... The seller said that the cable there doesn't always work to get the box that you recommeded is better that the box he recommended ($100)... a big savings in money. Thank you once again.

  • Set up an old TV / VGA to RCA (1yellow) - what gives?

I'm trying to connect my laptop to my old TV which has only rca records. Laptop has a vga out alone. So, after a little obstructionisme at frys-(ne pas vouloir payer 60 pour ce truc de coffret, ils avaient--j'ai commandé un câble adaptateur RCA/S-vidéo VGA.) To my dismay, I now have trouble getting the video to show. I did my audio separately that comes through the tv fine. I was playing with it in the display settings IE. lowering the resolution, "corresponding upward monitors" which I did not quite understand highlighting Monitor 2 (the little icon - one who is somehow not highlighted in gray and checking "enable this monitor" and "do this my main monitor" I can get it the same size as 1.) Nothing appears on the TV. Doesn't seem to work. I'm trying to figure out if my video card will allow me to move to a 'TV' defining possibly? Maybe there's a driver that will allow this? So far I can say I have a "mobile intel 4 series express chipset family '. I feel now is that the video card, I may not be able to support the installation of the adapter - without some heavy DIY - ideas whiz kids?

    Hello

The resolution provided by the VGA output must be within the limits of the TV that is connected in. If no video is shown, there are two possibilities. The video that came out of the computer is too high of a resolution or the RCA VGA adapter is defective.

Keep in mind that most graphics cards do not have the possibility of a resolution that appears on the TV, as they are designed for the video output on the monitor output.

  • computer laptop vga (15-pin) to tv (rca)

How can I connect my vga 15 pins on my big screen tv that only has the rca for entry plugs

Make sure you have local storage for a VGA-connector RCA electronics. eBay has for less than $ 10, delivered to your door.

Tip: Check the back of your TV for a S-Video input. The image quality will be slightly higher than that of RCA Sockets but the audio will still be analog.

  • TV on VGA?

    * Noob here - please excuse my dumb questions. **

Hi, hoping you could help me with a simple question.

I have a Lenovo Edge E320. I also have an old CRT TV that does that (no HDMI etc.) RCA inputs.

Output VGA on my E320 is a kind of "TV-out" output in other words, if I buy a VGA RCA cable I will be able to connect my laptop to my old TV and get a picture? I think that some VGA connections are TV-out and others are not, but I don't know how to say.

Thank you very much for your time

    C

No vga on the E320 does not work with the monitors simple vga to rca converter cable, you would need an active converter to get the right RCA signal.

  • Satellite U300 - 15 p: Multimedia issues

    Hello

I would be grateful if someone could tell me if I can connect to this computer to a TV.
If not, what is the best laptop, USB powered external speakers, I could use.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I don't know about you, but I guess that your laptop has VGA port only. Connection to a laptop to a TV is a bit tricky, but it is still possible.
You must obtain a special cable called a VGA to RCA connector. VGA connector port must be connected to the laptop VGA port while the RCA female connector can be used with a male-male RCA connector to connect to the video component of your TV. This is of course to video signal only.

On the market, you can find with many external USB speakers and is best to check with your dealer. Check the Logitech products.

All LCD televisions have several video - in different ports and what you should try is to use the VGA-to-RCA cable.
Your TV must have port cinch. Connect your laptop to the TV, turn on RCA TV port and then use FN + F5 key combination to switch the LCD TV.

    Hello

I bought a Satellite L350 - 20G on Tuesday and just have a question, it will probably be the first of many! I was wondering if anyone knows if you can connect to this laptop to a TV via a cable? If so should which cable I buy?

    Thank you

    JEM

    Hello!

I think that it of very easy to connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV. If he doesn t have an HDMI port, you must use the laptop VGA port. Therefore, you need a VGA cable and, in addition, a VGA adapter RCA if your TV isn't equipped with VGA port.

If you are looking for on eBay or online shops for VGA or VGA to RCA cable, you should find enough results! ;)

And in your user manual, you can also find information on the use of the external monitors. You can switch with FN + F5 the monitor then.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L450 - how to view content streamed on an old television?

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help. I have a Satellite L4500-13 x and would like to know if it is possible to view the streamed content on an old TV from my laptop for example YouTube. My TV just got a RCA inputs.
I have a port external monitor on laptop and don t know if I can use it with some kind of adapter. Or do I have an HDMI converter RCA portable since computers HDMI output port.

    Hey Buddy,

Normally it s no problem to use an older TV as external monitor. You probably need a VGA to RCA adapter, but it is a common and usually always served part with these older TVs they don t have a HDMI port.

On eBay and other places, you can buy this VGA adapter RCA. That s all that you need for this connection.
After that, you can switch between monitors using the FN + F5 key combination. :)

  • T61 to hang with TV?

    Hi guys,.

Do you know if a VGA to RCA. S-VIDEO | Converter VGAr is good enough to hook up my T61 with TVs HD? I tried with a regular cable, but it did not work.

    Thank you!

Well, the fact is that new TV now have HDMI inputs, DVI and VGA and S-video are not more popular. From the T series Thinkpads are supposed to be used in corporate environments, where projectors and LCD screens are used for presentation purposes, which generally do not need ports RCA and S-video in low resolution. So I guess the manufacturer thought that S-video is now a legacy port which is no longer necessary to the majority of users T-series...

Unfortunately, you're one of those minorities who still using S-video...

The only option for you now is the S-video converter box...

  • Satellite P300 - 18 M - VGA to S-video / RCA cable - no picture on the TV

    Hello

First of all, I am trying to use my other laptop (Dell Lattitude D630) I have with my TV, however, this other laptop has only a VGA output.

    So I bought a VGA adapter S-video and RCA e - Bay: [photo: http://members.lycos.co.uk/jtfearnley/Hosting/Images/RCA%20To%20S-Video%20RCA.jpg]
However, this does not work, the laptop in question has 'TV Out through VGA', so it should work according to various Web sites and the seller...

However, I then tried to test it with my Satellite P300 - 18M and it does not work with this, I tried the composite (yellow port) and S-video port, in three different TV, and there is no picture.

I tried to change settings in the ATI Catalyst Control Center, for example, force TV detection and it detects the TV, but there is no picture on the TV, only the gray lines.

If I cange the resolution and refresh rate I can kind of get an image: [image TV | http://members.lycos.co.uk/jtfearnley/Hosting/Images/TV.jpg]
    But it's the best thing.

In the past, I have used all three TVs with my P300 using direct S-video, so I don't understand why it will not work with this card.

Also, I know this isn't a forum for Dell, but I am not a Member here, and this question is also on my Toshiba laptop, because it would be useful to be able to use instead of S-video RCA adapter.

    Thank you

    Hello

To my knowledge the VGA port can be used only in connection with an external monitor/LCD but not with the TV.
The point is that the common PAL TV (not LCD or plasma) supports a maximum resolution of 720 X 576px 50 Hz (NTSC 720 X 480 at 60 Hz).

As far as I know that the s-video port provides such a resolution.
The VGA port offers higher resolutions are supprted by more external monitors.

However, I never connected the laptop to the TV via the VGA port so I can provide only some assumptions.

Sure, it might be possible that the S-video and RCA adapter VGA is not fully compatible.
I read on the different pages that at low cost without name adapters don't work as it should.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - how to get the sound on the TV with VGA cable?

    Hello world

I have a real problem connecting my Satellite Pro A300 to my Samsung HDTV.
The video works fine - I used a VGA connection on the laptop and the TV.

The problem I have is healthy.
I want the sound either also come from the TV. I tried a jack of 3.5 m from the headphone jack of the laptop to a red and white connection RCA audio on the TV, but it doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone have any ideas or advice?
I need of additional drivers, etc., or do some settings need to be changed etc etc.

    Hello

Normally, to use the 3.5 mm jack plug in the headphones, you need an adapter cable.
At one end, it has a 3.5 mm jack and the other side to connect red and white audio RCA connections.
Here is an example of what I mean:
    http://www.optimization-world.com/IMG/prod/3_5_mm_rca_audio.jpg

I m using such an adapter without any problem. You n t need an additional driver, or something more. It's the same as if you were using a helmet. :)
