Video chip

The video can Flake in my HP Dv4 Entertainment Notebook. I'm not interested in the cost-effectiveness rather if it is possible to change the video chip. Thank you for your help.

Hello

Dv4 is a series of models of macy, what is yours?  Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

  • New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
  • Need new card system (can be),
  • Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
  • May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
  • Cost of the work.
  • Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

I hope this helps.

    Hello:

Have you tried to change the screen resolution of different setttngs?  For example, if you went to a 4:3 to widescreen (16:9) display monitor you need to change the resolution to a wide screen resolution.

Run the Intel driver update utility and it will scan your PC and give you downloads for all Intel devices that need updated drivers.

  • Graphics card Radeon laptop on platform Windows 8 crashes when you watch videos in Firefox. Problem does not replicate on other browsers. Is there a solution?

I have a 4540 of Hp ProBook with a Radeon 7 x chip video integrated of series, platform Windows 8.1. When I watch videos with the browser Firefox video adapter fails and the computer sometimes freezes. If I watch videos with another browser I don't have a problem. I went to HP and have downloaded the latest drivers from AMD but still no will. So far, the only solution is to not use Firefox when watching video clips. In short, I don't know what direction to go, and since the problem seems to be specific with Firefox, I thought I would draw your attention to the problem.

Some additional info... If I bypass the Radeon chip, i.e. use the alternate Intel video chip, I don't have a problem. It said the native PC with Windows 7 pro with the upgrade software and the key of Windows 8. In any case when 7 was installed there where no problems with the playback of videos in Firefox. Installing Windows 8 was installed a clean place, not an upgrade...

    Thank you

I forgot a second hardware acceleration setting, which is changed in Flash itself. See this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

Windows 7 Device Manager now displays an error code 43 and advises that the device has been stopped because it had reported problems.

I think he's watching a new video card, but I had zero chance of finding one so far.

    Hello

What is the problem exactly of this graphics card? You have lines on the screen or what exactly is going on?

Maybe it of only necessary to reinstall the driver now what you think?
The same problem occurs on the factory setting?

New spare parts, you can get from an authorized service provider. On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of them! ;)

  • Pavilion dv7-6135dx screens on the video driver blue igdpmd64.sys after the platform update KB2670838

Windows Update has delivered platform update KB2670838 Feb. 27.

After that, any time I open Internet Explorer, I get a blue screen of death which calls igdpmd64.sys, which is part of the video driver.

I tried to install the latest video driver HP site was for this machine, even though it is dated as a couple of years.  But he says that I don't have the minimum requirements.   !!??

I tried a restore point before and everything was fine.

I let go of the front through the platform Windows Update again and the same problem.

Now today I have no restore point so I can't go back.

Because now I am simply not using IE, everything else works fine so far.

    Here are my questions...

    1. is this a known problem of someone else?  Is there an article on the best solution anywhere yet?

    2. suggested approaches to solve this?

    3. How can I get the alternative video drivers to try?

3B. should I even try the following more old?

    4. If after testing things, if I wanted to reinstall my current driver, how 'save', or protect some how now?  (I think THAT it is the original of the 2011 original installation schedule)

    5. How can I do to reinstall the video driver as 'supplied with the machine', for example since the recovery D: partition?

    6. If I end up having to reinstall Windows, how to do that since the recovery partition?

    Hey cfravel,

All major issues! Sorry to hear that you use in the blue screens, but you did a good job of troubleshooting. I'll answer the questions in the order that you asked them.

1 and 2.  Here is a link to the Microsoft Forumwhere there was a similar question. It looks like uninstalling and hiding the implementation update will correct the problem. To uninstall an update,

    • Click Start
    • Program 'type '.
    • Click on programs and features
    • Click View Installed Updates (left)
    • Search for KB2670838.
    • Select this option and click on uninstall.

    To hide the update,

    • Click Start
    • Type "update".
    • Click on Windows Update
    • Click Find updates
    • Click "# important updates available"
    • Search for KB2670838
    • Right-click on it and click on hide (you can always restore hidden updates in the future if you want by clicking on "restore hidden updates" from the main screen of Windows Update.

    3. here is the correct driver for your laptop HP Special Page. I think you're probably already doing it correctly, but just in case. How many times have you tried this driver? Try a couple of times.

3B. Yes you could certainly try the next previous driver.

3 c. the drivers coming from Intel or ATI are almost the same driver in most cases. We invite you to try them because they can always be uninstalled. Just, they are not guaranteed to work properly for your specific model.

    4. There are two versions of the driver for your ATI video chip. These and all future versions will still be available on your driver page. Click on the link under the latest driver that says "available versions" for a complete list of all the versions that are never released.

    5. to reinstall the driver of origin or any other original software that is preinstalled on your laptop, you can use HP Recovery Manager.

    • Click Start
    • Type "HP recovery".
    • Click HP Recovery Manager
    • Click re - install the drivers and software.
    • Scroll through the list and select drivers or software to install. These drivers will still be available on your page of driver as well.

6 here is a link on how to reinstall Windows from the recovery partition. In the links in blue at the top, click on "Recovering from the start (in the system startup) screen". This is a very simple process.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if these suggestions helped (it could help others with similar issues). I'll keep an eye out for your answer!

  • HP 625 video card update

    Hello

I would like to know if I can update/change my video card on my HP 625 model

    Hello:

    N °

The video chip is part of the motherboard and the entire motherboard must be replaced by another which has better graphics (if any).

The attendant costs for doing such a thing would exceed the cost of buying a new laptop with the desired video solution.

  • Diablo III runs slow on my pc, not that I need to update my video card and power supply

I have a HP Pavilion p6523w. I can run diablo 3, but it is extremely slow and I guess that choppy looking. I tried to work with blizzard on the problem, but it's slow going. I have looked and can't find anything concrete, but feel that my video chip can simply don't have the necessary ooomphh. But before I go out and spend money on things I didn't need. I thought someone here might be able to help out me.

    :-)

Yes - but what happens if you want a better card next year that requires 550W?
OK this requirements are without physical limits at all - it also depends on what you have changed or that you want to change next to the graphics card - an additional audio card? Other cards? A second HDD? Another drive?

Just check out what is offered, if you can get a 550W without much more money, then take it. Look for a big fan - he will be more silencer/cooler.
It will of course make no sense to take a 1000W for an additional card.

Look at what is offered in your area.
    Maybe Enermax, Thermaltake?

Check tests of the computer sites.

  • ATI radeon xpress 200 - a1350n - AmberineM-GL6E - share more memory video

Hi guys my question is easy to explain... I guess the title says it all...

    .....

I have an old PC HP a1350n that came from the factory with a card mother AmberineM-GL6E and ATI Radeon Xpress 200 as integrated video card.

    Well, my problem here.

    Like I said:

HP Pavilion Media Center a1350n desktop PC

    AmberineM-GL6E< i="" guess="" is="" from="" asus="" i'm="" not="">

    BIOS version: 3.01< i="" remember="" that="" was="" the="" original="" verios="" of="" the="" bios="" before="" i="" upgraded="" to="">

    Video integrate Chip: ATI Radeon Xpress 200< actualy="" is="" at="" 64="" of="" memory="" shared="" with="" 1gb="">

My problem is that now my PC has 2 GB of installed ram (2x1GB) and always has 64 MB shared memory...

Before I updated the bios to 3.15 the option in the Bios that allows you to change the size of the memory could be changed, but now after the upgrade is not possible and with grey letters.

    How can I fix?

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=bph04502#N296

It is a link that explains some of what I try to explain...

Also... I have the same problem with another PC (a1450n), but this came with an nvidia chip...

... so no idea what can do? to share more memory for the video chip?

Or should I get the BIOS? (where can I faund drop to do?)

    Note:

I forgot to say, that in version 3.01, I could share to 256 MB and which was then my PC have had only 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512) which, in the case of the a1350n with radeon express 200

But in the case of a1450n, I got 126MB with 512 MB of RAM (2 x 256) even at 3.01 version 3.11 BIOS... but now I can't do that... also the option disappeared o.0? WT@$%# !!!

Unless you saved the BIOS ROM file before you upgrade maybe isn't you luck. Since you ask about it, you have not.

The original BIOS is not available on the web portal of support for such an old desktop PC.

You can, if you are willing to take the risk, go on the forums of mod BIOS to get a utility that can return this function to your option of the BIOS screen.  Forums Mod BIOS should have what you need.

  • Aspire 4730Z intermittent video

Hello everyone, I have an Aspire 4730z, when I turn it on sometimes I get video through the bios, sometimes it will continue for windows, sometimes I get no video at all: even when it is connected to an external monitor. I was wondering if maybe it could be loose video cable, or my screen goes wrong? Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you.

Nevermind on the cable in bulk. Ive checked the two ends of the cable. or is loose. I have unplugged and plugged back in just to be sure. always the same. Anyone know if it could be a video chip problem. I can't imagine something as simple as turned my screen all went wrong. my old xp laptop is still running strong and everything about it is original, and as a computer is newer than that I wouldve expected to stand the test of time at least a little better.

  • Update video card for HP Pavilion Dv7 2040us

HI My Dv7-2040us has an ATI Radeon 4650 video card. I want to run some new games and I need at least of 4860 to execute. I looked around and it seems that I need to get a new card and install it directly on my motherboard. It is all do able for me I just need to know which new card would be compatible with my laptop model. If anyone knows who or where I can start looking for one I would greatly appreciate the info. Thank you!

    Hello:

The only way you can update the video in your laptop is to replace the motherboard together with the one who has a better video solution.

However, when you look at Chapter 3 of the the service manual on the link below, you are already at the top of the mark about what video chip is on the available motherboards.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01689926.PDF

So, you will have to live with the status quo or to buy a new laptop.

  • I have an IBM thinkpad with an ati mobility radeon series display and when I try to play a game says I need to update my video card...

I am totally lost and spent two hours trying to figure this out. I just bought the sims 3 and when I try to play said: device 0 cannot run this title. Your video card does not support at least Shader Model 2. Please update your card.
I tried to update my drivers but to no avail. I have no idea what to do here, can anyone help please? I just want to play this game!

Your video card is basic it is perfect for office 2D work which is what this laptop was designed for. It is not suitable for playing games and video chip does not respect the Sims 3 system requirements. There is nothing you can do about it. This isn't a limitation of software (drivers), but a physical limitation (this video card cannot play this game). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • HP ENVY-j005tx portable video Show map

I bought this laptop there is 6 months (still under warranty) mainly for the purpose of games

Was happy with specifications of the laptop (especially its 16 GB of Ram), until I found that the graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GT M 740) is not enough to run games from past the beginning of the 2000s (something that certainly was not announced when I bought it)
I've since updated all the drivers I could for the graphics card and the pc, all without result
For a laptop which cost me around (to THE) $1700 + and was announced as a great game option, for me I'm glad not exactly how it works
I'm not want to buy another computer right now I got it for about 6 months
I am looking to update my graphics by a little card just, maybe to a GeForce GTX or an AMD - but still slightly better than what I would great
I am able to upgrade with this computer? I don't mind if I deconstruct it - I just need to know if I can
In the hope to hear back soon
    Thank you

    Specs are below:

The other thing that should be clear, it's that your laptop has no video 'map' as such. The video chip is part of the motherboard. In my view, there may be a compatible motherboard with a video chip of 750M but is only maybe 10% faster than yours and the cost of the motherboard over $ 300. So the above tips are essentially correct: in practice we can not do.
