Video format question

I have a LifeCam VX500 and I running Windows 8.1.  I want to capture video from my neighborhood because there was a problem or two. I can spare 600 GB of disk space for the capture. What format of video would be the best to use? Should I just use the capture on my dashboard? Can I create a folder with a limit?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones video Format Question

I have a BlackBerry 8310 Curve with a 4 GB Micro SD card.  The unit recognizes and plays that have been purchased on Amazon.com MP3 music, but he has a problem with the MP4 videos.  I bought DVD, conversion of CuCusoft.com software and converted several DVD in a film MP4 format.  The device recognizes the title of the film, but I got an "Error" message when I try to play the movie, which makes me think that maybe that's a problem of formatting of MP4.

I tried to Lexar, SanDisk and transcend Micro SD 4 GB cards and received the same message.

I did not have this problem with the original software included with the phone.

The problem seems to have happened when I downloaded the latest version of the software from the BlackBerry site which would allow this phone to recognize a 8 GB Micro SD memory card.  However, I wasn't able to get the unit to properly recognize a card 8 GB even with the new software installed.

Any information about what format the BlackBerry needs to recognize and play DVD converted to MP4 would be appreciated.

The "MP4" format is very broad as it has about 15 different types of MP4 formats are available in the converter software, I bought so I am interested in a specific type of MP4 format I need to do in order to enjoy your movies on my BlackBerry.

    Thank you

As well as the prejudice RAID RAID, or not, this ARTICLE could be very useful for defining an auxiliary system appropriate IO for you and the best spend your $.

I agree with Colin, that a RAID probably isn't going to help that bang a lot and more for the $ would be with a correctly adjusted upwards and allocated I/O.

  • Best video format - MP4, DV, MOV...?

    Hello!

I'd love your advice on the best video format for use in iMovie 10.1.1.

In 2009, before that I migrated to Apple, I scanned some 50 family Hi8 videos. Later, when I migrated to Apple, I had to convert it into a format compatible with iMovie. Then, I don't have time to go further. Now that I'm retired I would edit the videos but I find myself with sometimes up to 4 versions of the same file, with very different sizes, and I don't know who should I choose and I should delete. For example, these are four versions, I have a video:

    Format size

TS 1.55 GB (in the Finder, it says that it's MPEG-2)

    DV 9,55 go

MP4 772 MB (in the Finder, it says that it's MPEG-4)

MOV 5.53 go (in the Finder is said that it is the QuickTime video)

    Sometimes it's the MPG format.

So my question is, what format should I keep? If I have to choose between quality and file size, I would choose quality.

I see that iMovie recognize the DV MP4 but not TS and MPG formats. Which simplifies my choice, I think.

To my surprise I see also that iMovie doesn't recognize the QuickTime files, even if it's an Apple software!

I sought an answer to my question elsewhere on the Internet, but I found conflicting reports. Where did my posting on this forum.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer!

MP4 is a delivery format, meant to be watching.   DV is a less compressed format designed for publishing.  If Mp4 files will occupy less space than DV files.  However, you can change them both.  iMovie will accept both.  I would like to keep both.

My thought is that I edit in DV and export to Mp4 to watch.  If you burn it to a DVD, you will get the MP2, which is very highly compressed, designed for viewing, but terrible for editing.

Don't forget to back up your movies before doing anything.

I'm not sure that this link will work, but if this is the case it may be useful.

    Whats better dv or mpeg

  • Not compatible video formats to sony mp4

I got the Sony tablet S with the intention to use it as a media controller. I have all my music, photos and videos are stored on a stand-alone DLNA media server. Over the past 3 years I have been using Sony DCS - WX1, DCS - WX5 and DCS-HX9V Cameras for making MP4 videos. Playback of the video well on my Sony XBR - HX909 TV and PlayStation 3. The thing that kills me the most on the Sony S tablet is that it won't play video.

Why sony s tablet is not compatible with the products own sony video formats? I have hundreds of hours of videos made by the sony cameras and this sony tablet will not play them. WTF.

To make things worse, I can't even throw the videos on TV. If the Sony Tablet S cannot read the video rendering device should not be able to play. Where is the logic of that?

Will there be an update to allow the Tablet S MP4 video piece produced by camera Sony products? Or to any the less being able to launch the video to a rendering device that can play video.

Convert my videos, it's out of the question. There are too many files, and why should I convert then just because of the limitation of the Sony Tablet S. In addition, my iPhone and my wife's iPad can play the video fine using a DLNA client application. I'd be more inclined to try to return this Sony Tablet or put it on ebay and just get an iPad if something can't solve this problem soon.

    Thank you sony

Similar question. I like that I can store my music in one place and play in another place on the Tablet or on another device controlled by the Tablet S. I want to do the same thing with my videos. For example, my Tablet S can see the recordings on my DVR, but it will not play them. What a tease.

  • Why will not post any kind of video format Windows Movie Maker?

I have a video project together over but when I click 'save to computer' and go through it, he starts to publish but stick to 1% or 2%. I tried just to publish a still image (JPEG) that works. I added a voice on the video image, published again very well. Then added an mp3 which is used throughout the project, which publishes perfectly too. Add a video file, however, freezes it. I tried to break the project down into third to check that it is not "too complex" that didn't work and now even in the sixth that don't work as.
I tried using videos MP4, AVI and WMV, but nothing to do with a video clip will release.

I am running vista and movie maker 2.6.
(And ive also tried to put the project on a Win7 computer and who publishes but the same file wont open (all files component also transferred to 2nd pc))

I am incredibly frustrated with this now so please, any help would be appreciated!

I was wondering why you are running Movie Maker 2.6?
Do you have Vista Movie Maker 6 enforcement issues?

What is the duration of the project? Long and complex projects
can be problematic. More short projects (as you have already discovered)
    are generally more successful.

MP3 files can be problematic... conversion. WMA peut
    be worth a try.

The. WMV video format is the best choice, and you already
tried that... but the question is how to convert you?

Also... it may be useful if you open Movie Maker and go to... Tools /.
Options / Compatibility tab and disable all filters / OK.
Or... to... Tools / Options / tab compatibility and left click
button to restore all default settings.

There are to many converters available on the net...

  • Other video formats/sizes/fps - Please HELP

    Hi, I need help.

I use Premiere Pro for about a month now, so I know the basics, but I'm still not an expert.

My problem is that the filming, I did (using Fraps) is 3 video formats:

    1. 640 x 400 with 120 FPS

    2. 720 x 450 with 120 FPS

    3. 1280 x 800 with 30 frames per second

I tried to put it all together in a sequence and edited the video sizes/formats so they are all good, but it seems to ruin the quality of the videos and also make blurry in places (especially when export). Now, my question is, if it is possible to have 3 all video formats into a single sequence without this ruin the quality?

I thought of evolution of the formats of the video before you import them into Premiere Pro, probably their scale reduction - just don't know if this is possible.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing that your sequence is set to 1280 by 800, if it is you will see reduced quality when enlarging the other clips of lower resolution to match his size. 640 will not be as clear as 1280 when it is developed to adapt to it.  In addition, I would like to look in what Codec you are exporting too. If you export to say the H.264 codec to 15 Mbits per second, you will experience loss of quality due to compression.

Here is a YouTube video explaining how to export on Premiere Pro sequences, I hope this will help your situation.

  • Video formats with html 5 are like days VHS and Beta

    Hi once more;

I always try to get my site submitted to nine to work with video examples. The first site I made in 2009 was with Dreamweaver CS3 when video was not a big deal and all my examples worked fine, but now it's different.

In old messages I was told to flash video getaway because it was not used in the video most for most devices.  I should do more in html 5 and make your MP4 video.  Got it, but, still problems with some of the video of loading another story but they don't work in Firefox.  This browser requires ogg.  OK, changed it in ogg.  My questions are, if I have to put each format on a page that has 4 examples of my work, how the container so that it can understand what browser is being used and play this format? too many screens.

    I got it this way;

    < div class = 'video' >

    "< video src="video/imagerepair_1.mp4.mp4 "width ="400"height ="400"controls > < / video >

    "< video src="video/imagerepair_1.mp4.oggtheora.ogv "width ="400"height ="400"controls > < / video >

    < / div >

I have two screens for a film.  We'll play in Firefox with the other saying screen "video format or mime is not supported.

Second question;  If I have 4 different videos make a container for each?  I use "insert a div tag" to make the container.

    Thanks for your time.

Download the Pickle player.  I use it for 2 video sites. Pickle works in all browsers and web devices with a type of file (MP4 or M4V for the web).  Pickle also supports playlists and poster frames.   You can customize the skin with the CSS code or just use one of the default ones. It's super simple to deploy with a few lines of HTML code.  A ++

  • Video clips will play is more - video format not supported

Please help. I recently transferred an iPhone 4s to an iphone 5. All images and videos were transferred in the shop. I came now to actually play the video and I get this message. "unsupported video format" Please can anyone help. Here are videos of precious I know I should have saved but I did not.

    Hello riley-riley,.

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important to get these videos work again is to you! As I understand it, you can't play videos on your 5 new iPhone that you had on your old iPhone 4S since the transfer of your personal data to your new phone. I have some suggestions to solve this problem and get those videos works again!

    1. first of all, please, import videos from your iPhone 5 to a computer and try to play on the computer. After importation, do not delete or remove it from your iPhone, just to be sure. I also recommend making a backup at this stage, as well.

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

    2. If the videos play on your computer after you import, then you can try this copy of the video from the computer to your iPhone using iTunes synchronization. Once you sync videos to iPhone, trying to play two copies of the same video and see if they work.

Keep your photos safely stored and updated on all your devices

    See you soon!

  • Firefox not supporting type mime or video format for CW Network only (so far)

I don't get "video Format or the MIME Type is not supported" flashed on all videos on the site of the CW Network, then the video plays. but no where else. And as with Firefox 32.0.3 in Windows 8.1/64 pro (not N or KN) and Windows 7/64 Pro on another computer.

I have no problem with the CW using Microsoft IE videos. Not my favorite browser.

Checked the flash updates and they are up to date.

I made a suggested HTML5 media player 'disable' in subject: config but that did not help. Cannot find any other suggestions for my system.

This happens in Mode safe, it works in the Flash Player when I tested it... .on a Mac. OK, I see the issue now. I think that this perhaps specific platform.

  • Video format not supported in the camera. Help?

My phone was used to take some videos of my horse jumping during a show. 3 videos read perfectly but the main I wanted says it is 0:00 in length and shows as just a white tile in the camera roll and when you click on play the phone tells me it is a unsupported video format and that the film cannot be read because the video format is not supported. Its an iPhone 6 s and I have never had this problem before. I tried to import on my macbook, but that will not import the file from my phone, once again because it is a format that is not supported.

I don't understand how the file may be unsupported, when she was taken on the phone...?
