Video upgrade - business multi-screen on Optiplex 755 MT

People,

Please, let me share my upgrade of success a good end of the Dell Optiplex 755 MT for multi-monitor lease.

If you are looking to use a great system for companies, but want to add multiple monitors (which is fantastic for productivity), so this solution might be nice for you.  And do graphics multi-monitor solution that works is easy and difficult at the same time!   It's easy if all the material is known to work together!  This note is therefore, on this topic.

* With the help of ATI over-pants 2450 in 16th housing PCI Express.

* Four monitors (via VGA or DVI adapters included) OVER the motherboard video still works!

* Updated the BIOS to the most recent.

* Note that this card works PCI 2.0, and it works in what is apparently a PCIe 1 location. on the MOBO 755 0 a.  A 2.1 card may not work.

* This is for businesses and all five monitors work fine now, even with YouTube.  This is not intended as a game environment.

* There are a few things to try in BIOS in terms of parameters - for a while, there was a mistake of memory and the thing wouldn't start - it took a little time to understand the exact configuration of he.

* WIndows 7 is the operating system used - and Windows Aero works.

* I'm not long seen accidents associated with old Jaton NVidia PCI cards that we used previously.

* The physical slot size are fine.

* Consumption looks very good.

* Cost of ITX Canada was about $250 more shipping, tax etc.

* Here's the Sapphire version of the AMD ATI card, which is very good.

* The AMD reference number is 100-505531.

Five monitors are not identical (three different geometries and two sellers)

* Device Manager lists the latest AMD video drivers for this card as installed and work - I am not quite clear if the drivers have been installed from the download, or later.

Actual installation was required for their persistence and a little hairy.  When I reboot, I'll see all noting the exact BIOS settings.

* The system crashed not once now, in a week of constant availability, including browsers open 20 tablets or more periods and use of the physical memory of 80%.

* System 6 GB of RAM, running 64-bit and BIOS A22.

Good luck.

  • Intermittent white screen of OptiPlex 755 SFF on POLE

Hi all, I have a desktop dell optiplex 755 SFF with intermittent white screen when I turn on the PC. Before my problem, I installed the following:

2 x 1 GB of ram (total ram is 4 GB)

    Radeon HD 5450 graphics card

    TV tuner card

Everything worked well for 1 year with the installed equipment. I then removed the old cpu E2100 and installed an E7500 requiring an update of the BIOS to A21 to recognize the new processor. The PC has worked for about 2 weeks, until these problems occurred.

I use the radeon with a dvi cable graphics card to the monitor.

As already indicated the white screen issue is intermittent, sometimes the screen is detected immediately, sometimes it takes 10 seconds, sometimes up to 1 minute.

If anyone can provide suggestions I would be very happy.

You have a lot of Ram.  No amount of removal and reinstallation will solve the problem.

I just upgraded the memory on my Optiplex 755. He originally had 4 512M memory locations and I replaced two 512M sticks with 2 G sticks.

(Perhaps mistakenly), I put new memory in the slots of alternative, so that memory is now as:

    1 2 DIMM
    DIMM 3 512 M
    2 2 DIMM
    DIMM 4 512 M

    Everything seems to work OK.

  • OptiPlex 755: Components of unknown hardware in Windows 7

    Hello

I ve installed Windows 7 Professional 32 bit in my Optiplex 755. Device Manager displays now two unknown components. I ve installed the actually INF-update of Intel for Windows 7, but still the same components unknown. All additional material has been recognized with success.

Someone knows what I need drivers?

    Thank you very much.

    Kind regards
    schluri

I'm not going to swear that it will work for you, but I got the same features appear in my test of Windows 7 install for our enterprise network, in English only. One thing I've done is to check the BIOS updated and as usual there was a new available, not that it is important for the problem that you have, but you can also do the update as go you if you do not, A15, incidentally, you can thus apply all the recommended updates Dell.

The items listed as having no no drivers can be fixed with the AMT HECI and AMT-GROUND-LMS upgrades available from dell computer Optiplex 755 downloads. Extract the download to the default directory C:\Dell\Drivers and make a note on which one you do, personally I rename the folder of extraction so I know not what is in the directory if I need it later, for example C:\Dell\Drivers\AMT-HECI-R194010\ and C:\Dell\Drivers\AMT-SOL-LMS-R194011. They will not install automatically and if they act like they will just cancel out of it because they fail after installing anyway with a license purchase requirement most of the people do not have.

Manually, you can point to them from Device Manager by clicking devices and by using the update driver option and navigate to the folder where you extracted the drivers. If you happen to choose the right folder, it tells you that the driver cannot be updated so just finishing that and go through the option to update again to take the next case, do the same procedure for updating the other driver and life should be good.

I'm going from memory here so don't hold me to it, but I think that the PCI device is the AMT HECI and the standard equipment is the LMS-SOIL-AMT. If not then you have a chance of 50 / 50 to get it right by guessing and nothing to lose if you're wrong, as I said just take the other file, next time.

That fixed it for me, hope it helps you as well.

  • Double video for a DT optiplex 755 (office)

All - I have a dell optiplex 755 desktop model and want to switch to two monitors.  Im not playing or do the cutting-edge graphics, I want just the flexibility to both monitors.  I do a lot of design document in development work and would like to be able to have the two windows runs in both full screen mode.  Looks like there are a lot of monitors on slickdeals now a days.  I would like help in selecting a suitable video card to get there. any suggestions?

No, it was the other HDMI and DVI.

A DVI-HDMI or HDMI-DVI cable will work. In my case, two monitors were DVI, so I used a HDMI-DVI cable. There are more complex and expensive cards with two DVI ports, but it is cheaper to use a cable such as I have described.

  • CPU Upgrade for Optiplex 755 - Core 2 Quad?

    Hey guys!

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 desktop computer. It's a SFF, and I picked up the recycling room in my office. It just need a HD fan, and it runs great. He got a Core 2 vPro 3.0 ghz in there at the moment, 4 MB of cache and FSB 1333.

It works well, but I would like to upgrade to a slightly faster processor and I am considering my options. I watched the fastest Core 2 Duo, I couldn't, and they offer only a 3.33 ghz, however, it's something like $350 dollars for the processor.

I started thinking maybe I should see what there is and realized that there is also the Core 2 Quad and the Extreeme of 2 Core that are available with one cache of FSB 1333 mhz, and PGA775 (or other).

I'm curious, but you guys don't know if it is possible to install a Core 2 Quad or a Core 2 Extreme in my Dell Optiplex 755? This PDF shows on Page 10 to take a Core 2 Quad. http://www.Dell.com/downloads/global/products/Optix/en/opti_755_techspecs.PDF

Which is the maximum that the BIOS will recognize / support? Can I use a QX6850?

    Thank you guys!

Through the Optiplex 780, the chassis has remained the same - that said, you're better off buying a new (or a more recent version) upgrade of the system.

You will find all the systems in the range of $200-300 - not much more that it will cost for a single pension + CPU + RAM.

  • Dell Optiplex 755 SFF 2015 video card update

    Dear readers.

I'll buy my first Dell computer, which is a Dell Optiplex 755 Small Form Factor. It has a Core 2 Quad q6600 CPU in it, with 2 GB of ram and a PSU 275w. I have a Nvidia Geforce GT220 video card, which is a low profile video card, it can consume the maximum of 58 W, and this video card requires at least 300 W works without problems. Will it work with this diet?

    Link to the video card:

    Thank you!

I'll buy an Ati Radeon HD 2400 XT, because im does not intend to do some games 'hardcore' and other animals, it can be good for my needs.

The 2400XT is very outdated and terribly weak power. You are much better with people like a Sapphire 6450, that can be done for $43 postpaid from Newegg.

  • Video card in Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop HELP

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I really need your help :)

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 desktop computer and incredible as it may seem that I did not know the Office had no graphic card (video card?) lol x)

The Office gave at Christmas, I wonder if you could indicate a video card ideal for my desktop PC which is not too expensive.

I use Windows 7 Pro, I don't know much about computers components, but I found this graphics card what you think? Will work or not? graphics-cards.specout.com/.../ASUS-GeForce-210-Silent

I really need your help guys.

This is bad advice because the card in question is not necessarily in all cases EXCEPT TOUR because of the unique slot configuration.  FAT OFF heat sinks will not physically go in the models of desktop SFF and USFF has no slot so no card is an option.

Radiator to map out more 1 wide slot.

This is why I always recommend specific ASUS Radeon HD5450 or 6450 cards.

  • Problem starting OptiPlex 755 (video)

    Howdy all!

I just got a Dell Optiplex 755 FDF (for someone else).  I installed a Nvidia GeForce 610 graphics card into the PCIe slot.  He started the next time and I was able to install the software and Nvidia drivers.

The PC was behaving strangely since then. Sometimes it will start fine.  Other times it will start only on-screen vBIOS, who manage the Dell splash screen.  It will be so stay on the vBIOS screen and is not engaged in the POST.  The attached screen is what happens when power on and the system is blocked.  I tested the card in another PC for a few days.  More than a dozen of start ups and not get caught once.  I ran with the 755 iGPU at the same time, he started without problem as well, no gluing.

So I know it's a problem between the card and the system.  Just don't know what.  I know the vBIOS map is up to date and am pretty sure that THE system BIOS is updated to version A22.

As this happens randomly, yet often, I am at a loss of what could be a possible cause.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

Please write to the Dell Community Forum.

I would ask you to try these steps and advise the result,

  • Upgrade CPU OptiPlex 755?

I have an Optiplex 755 of sff with the q6600 and Im thinking about buying a mini tour with the q6600 as 755. I know that I can move to the q9650, q9550 or q9450, no problem. But what about the xeon x 3350, x 3360 x 3370 3380 x, x 3353, x 3363? Specifically the x 3363 because his 80w so I can use the hsf stock; and you can find them for really cheap.

I know that they are not officially supported by dell, but I saw references it will work online.

    And it would be a possible upgrade being the q6600 2.4 ghz, 8 MB L2, 1066fsb, 105w. 3363 x is 2.83 ghz, 12 MB L2, 1333 fsb and 80w.

My PC is used for folding at home, General internet surfing and use htpc. I want just the processing power as much as possible of my old system.

  • Is a processor upgrade Optiplex 755 worth the cost and effort?

    I have a 755 core 2 duo 3 Ghz 1333 FSB running Windows 7.

Is the cost and effort to upgrade the processor to a quad core is worthwhile, given the age of the computer?

Would be a quad core overclocking more slowly or more slow FSB no improvement in speed over the 3 GHz Core 2.

Looking at eBay and amazon Q9650 (3 GHz) runs around $100, the Q9550 (2.83 GHz) about $75.

The slower Quad cores are $30 - $40, which I wouldn't mind if it makes a noticeable improvement.

Not sure I want to put another $100 in there, unless it's a very big improvement.

    Thank you

You should see an improvement in performance, but I don't know how. On average, what is your current CPU usage in Task Manager? If it is maxed out at 100%, a large part of the time, moving to a quad core should offer a significant improvement. If it is 50-60% most of the time, maybe it's not that big of an improvement. Here is a list of media UC the OptiPlex 755:

    3.00 GHz, Quad Core Yorkfield Q9650, 12MB
    Yorkfield 2.83 GHz Quad Core Q9550 12 MB, 1333 MHz FSB, E0
    2.66 GHz, Quad Core Yorkfield Q9400, 6Mo, 1333FSB, R0
    2.66 GHz, Quad Core Kentsfield Q6700, 8 MB, 1066FSB, G0

The Q9650 both the Q9550 should work in your machine. I hope this helps!
