My daughter has trouble to download its pdf files of the College.  They come out in jibberish. I spoke with the tech IT to his school and it helped me to update my adobe reader software, but it still did not help. He said that I probably need an update to microsoft word. My computer will display currently dates of my microsoft word 98-2002. The tech said IT most of the professors send their files in doc.x (whatever it is).  I noticed that you have free updates for word 2010 microsoff on your wessite.  This fix my problem and show the PDFs in English? My operating system is windows XP Professional.  If it will correct what free download should I use?

    Hello Tereasamiller,

This thread has been created in the Forum update of Windows XP; the Microsoft moderation team has moved this thread on the Forum of Windows XP programs.

Alternatively you can also go here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/391736 and see if that helps with your problem. This seems to be a problem with the program Adobe Reader.

The Docx the Tech mentioned is the extension of the files Microsoft Office Word 2010 document. They may have been mentioning this to let you know that your daughter may need Office 2010 to view these files sent by the teacher.

  • What should I do to change my window 2000 nt operating system to something more recent

    I lose my data

You can dual-boot 2000 and XP or Vista or Windows 7. Or all of them.

But you'll need a pretty big hard drive. You can partition the hard drive (though if your hard drive is now small (the one with 2000 on this).) You may need to purchase a bigger. Then, you must reinstall 2000 again. Partition of the first hard before you do

How to get windows 7 Professional operating system software for existing key

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

  • Windows 2000 Professional and X 61, X61s

    Hello

    • Anyone know if we can install and use windows 2000 Professional on a X 61/X61s (stata questions?)? Is - this dangerous (drivers, potential property damage)?
    • Some drivers are available for windows 2000 Professional. It's loaded with windows 2000 pro recovery disks in?
    • It will improve the battery life?

    Thank you.

Hi, I had installed on my x 61 for about a year with zero problems of win2k. the reason why I went finally xp was due to new standards unavaiable on 2 k (wga, video hi-def, sdhc, etc.)

Oh, one thing that does not work: on the card reader sdhc cards. This isn't really a big problem because lack of wga could be...

for the sata issue I can think of two options: integrate or start in compatibility mode, install the drivers and drivers switch to sata.

    Good luck
