  I wonder about this new system. Since I downloaded it my external speakers have not worked. I have Aiwa speakers before 180 system. I tried to plug in the headphones or the internal speakers and nothing happens. The speakers still work b/c I hear static and I have tried plugged into themselves and I got a your hard. So my best guess is that Siri has messed up this older model Mac compatibility.   Check your sound settings in system preferences. They could be eset with default values. Often just tilting head and on the output selections will 'wake up' the system.

  -want to browse my music library and control the Mac through my iPad or iPhone. Don't want to use the keyboard or the physical remote. Do something like plex installed on ipad control files that reside on the Mac mini (or external hard drive connected to the Mac Mini)?

  -as my amp is analog (with RCA plugs) I guess I have to convert the RCA plugs to the digital amplifier. A Mini Mac USB RCA DAC exist?

  Everything you need for an analog RCA connection is a stereo 3.5 mm to RCA cable.

• Choosing iMac and MacPro

  Looking for entry and helps in this decision-making process.  Considering an iMac on a MacPro I for the convenience of space and portability currently and want to ask people here in the Mac publishing community for their 'opinion' and ' experience' with similar applications, work or use.  I have retired and you want to reduce the amount of work that I do more to clean up my workspace of excessive and other cables.

  Or the other system I edit with Photoshop CS5, FCPX, Lightroom and use (use) external thunderbolt matrix RAID 0 with two internal disks, mini disks external hard thunderbolt and a CD/DVD/BluRay external burner.  I will edit not 3D.  I will edit 1 4K video camera eventually, but not much.  Most of my work will be no emergency BUT that said when I'm working I don't LIKE COLOR WHEEL LOOKS or mini jams.  Finally, I get the SSD single bolt of lightning and hope that sometimes in 2016 thunderbolt RAID 0 with dual SSD.

FCPX using ' smart function to distribute the media on several media (and mine are just usb3, no CT). Bulit (transformation, CC, Center) effects are 'live', no need renderining effects no wheels, no waiting.

  My latest toy is a cam 4 (Lumix fz1k) k - without no flaws, no lock either using proxies.

• Mini Mac server - attachment of external hard drives file transfer speed

  Hi guys!

  I wanted to increase the speed and storage capacity to transfer to my Mac mini file, so I bought a box of external hard drives. The one I bought is: http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=219

  Built-in the Mac mini hard drives transfer the file to 60 MB/s (writing and reading) and I wanted to get better speed of file transfer, so I bought an SSD that is going to be inside with an another HARD drive of 3 TB for archiving my files. The housing is connected by USB3.0 (5 Gb/s) for the Mac mini.

  [SSD-> files I opened every day] - speed around 550 MB/s write and 500 MB/sec in reading

  [HDD-> Archives, files that I have does not open very often] - speed around 150 MB/s write and 150 MB/sec in reading

  So I did some benchmarks on my new Setup, and the speed is not really what I expected. Transfer of file max speed I have achieved is about 100 MB/sec in writing on the external SSD plugged into the mac mini. This transfer has been filed since an iMac 21 "2011 with an SSD (with almost the same speed read/write than the box) so it's quite disappointing.

  It is possible that the Mac has a 'file transfer speed limit' is somewhere? Or whatever else that could affect that?

  More information on my setup:

  Mac Mini server 2012 - 2 TB RAID 1 - Mac OSX 10.9.5

  iMac 21 "2011 - Crucial SSD 275 Gb - Mac OSX 10.9.4
