Virtual PC 2004

I have the Virtual PC 2004 (Windows 95) mainly of records in Microsoft Money v 3.   I'm impossible to personally adapt to later versions of money.

The last time I opened the Virtual PC to add information to the registration of money, all the programs have disappeared.  Fortunately, I had copy backup of the money on a floppie drive, so the problem is partially supported.  What could have or did happen to the content of this Virtual PC?

Hey Evan,

The question you posted would be better suited in the TechNet Forums. I would recommend posting your query in the TechNet Forums.

  • Question 1.9 updated Bios of M50 due to multiple issues on 1.7

    Hello

I have a Satellite M50-196, I received a few weeks ago and I've known a lot of problems. The current version of the Bios on the laptop is 1.7 and the bios to M50 series page, I see that there is a version 1.9.

I had to remove XP home and installed my copy of XP Pro with Service Pack 2. Everything went great. Everything works perfectly except a few questions. Here goes:

-First wireless adapter has some kind of problem because when I connect to my home network from time to time I run repair the connection on windows because it is really slow. I have a connection of 4 MB cable at home and he usually runs to 400 k. ut has from time to time completely stops and starts again after a few seconds and a few other times gets as slow as 40 k. It is not a question of cable provider or a question wireless base station because I have a desktop computer that uses wireless also without any problems. This happens with the laptop connected to the power supply or running on batt. I have the latest drivers from Intel 2200BG wireless card.

-The second problem is when I close the screen. The laptop should go on stand-by but rather never sleep light turns orange and the laptop is completely locked. The power button remains blue, light it even after that leaving the button for several seconds (15-20) or no laptop computer shutsdown. The only way to solve the problem is to remove the battery completely and fastener is again.

-The third and last problem, so far, is with Virtual PC 2004 SP1. Virtual machines run very slowly, and the use of processos is most of the time at 99%. Time on a virtual PC is faster than normal, then it blocks completely and start again. For example 10 seconds will in 5 seconds then he crashes a few seconds. This behavior seems to occur with more people using computers laptops centrino with 915 chipset and some manufactors already corrected cela. A guy on another forum has reported that it has fixed a DELL laptop with a recent update of the bios.

So because all these I'm considering upgrading to version 1.9 of the bios, but before I do, I would like to know if anyone had problems with this upgrade and would also like to know if its safe to run the bios from windows update. I know that its supposed to be sure, but I would like to know if anyone has ever reported problems with it and what precautions should I take... for instance... it is important to remove the bios and the hard drive passwords?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post :)

    Best regards

    Hello

If you have some problems with the 2200 BG WLan card so try to install the latest driver on the Intel site.
    http://downloadfinder.Intel.com/scripts-DF-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=1637&lang=eng

    What Bios:
Sometimes the BIOS update can solve a lot of strange problems. But make sure that the incorrect BIOS procedure may damage the motherboard. Before you begin this procedure, all passwords must be disabled and AC adapter / CC must be plugged.

I'm not sure about the question of the virtual machine. It s a 3rd party software and it of not easy to tell if the update of the BIOS can solve it.

Please post if you have updated the BIOS

    Good bye

  • Norton Ghost 9 / converter (take two).

    Hello

It is a rehash of a recent post, I though it best to start again...

I am using vCenter Converter standalone client v4 version 146302 on Windows XP.

I'm trying to convert Norton Ghost 9 file (version 9.0.2.3981), which seems to...

However when I select the 'Save Image' option and give him my Ghost (with .sv2i extension) file and click next it comes up with:

"The machine virtual source is not recognized.

Norton Ghost is supported according to the documentation:

    • Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 or 2007

    • Microsoft Virtual Server 2005

    • Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 6.5, 7.0, 8.0

    • Symantec LiveState Recovery 3/6

    • Versions of Norton Ghost 9 to 14

    • Acronis True Image backup

    • Parallels Desktop for Microsoft Windows 2.5, 3.0

    • ShadowProtect Desktop, server, SBS, IT, etc. versions 2.0 to 3.2

    • VMware Consolidated Backup

I then started using VMImporter, it gave me better clues as to what might happen (I note that MS, 4 XML Parser SP3 must be installed to make it work).

It seems that he is fussy on the destination drive (someone knows about it?), and there is a problem that if a partition is not active, it will not work. I would have hoped that the software could make the cloned image 'active '...

    Another reminder:

I use a boot loader that allows me to use more than 4 active partitions, the way it works is that it makes the parition active when you select the option in the bootstrapper. All my drives are SATA

Anyone specifically of problems specifically with Norton Ghost 9 and this software is, and should not there be an option to enable a VMImage if it is inactive? And why he is fussy on destination disks (sometimes it indicates a path is missing for example, when you try to copy the cloned, image when I pointed the software easily at the right place).

NB this software is supposed to be supported so please avoid telling me to use other products :). I just need to convert my images from the virtual computer, then I can throw Ghost...

    Thank you

    VirtualAlexS,

You use the compression of the image, and if so, what level of compression is that? It seems that we do not support medium compression in old ghosts. To work around, you must convert your image using Ghost export function of recovery point. You can convert any other level of compression.

  • Equium A100 - 147 Virtual Sound reinstall problem

I read a few posts about the same problem I have, but with no definitive answer. I have the satellite A100-147 with Windows XP Media Center. I downloaded a few files updated on the Toshiba site (all for my model), including:

    acsil-xpmce-100008-en
    Assist-xpmce-10300-en
    confree-xpmce-59007ab-en

    SD-secure-xpmce-104-en
    Sound-xpmce-51005253
    Toupad-xpmce - 10001st - en

and then: tvs-xpmce-10312-en (latest driver Virtual Sound for the A100-147)

I uninstalled the old version of the virtual sound driver before attempting to install a new one. But as I've seen elsewhere, I get the message:

"Toshiba Virtual Sound can't stand your computer."

I spent all afternoon looking up and trying to find ways to solve this problem. I've since updated my BIOS (bios-550win). Not a thing I try it will work. I even deleted the references to his virtual in the registry where there was no ongoing conflict. It made no difference if.

Could someone Toshiba please explain to me why I am told that I can not install which worked perfectly until this morning, before these updates, which are all intended for my laptop model? This is ridiculous. My apologies for my tone, but have lost hours on it, I'm extremely frustrated and you want just like it was back in my laptop (and before you ask, Yes, I tried a system restore, but that does not work either).

    Thank you

  • MSFT Flight Simulator 2004

I want to run Flight Simulator 2004 on my laptop. The game requires Windows XP and has relatively modest processor, storage and video requirements by today's standards, so I guess that my laptop is up to the task. I have a 64 bit Lenovo X140e (may 2013 or 2014 model with certainly enough computing power and storage to run FS 2004). He currently runs Windows 10.

My plan is to partition my hard drive to install Windows XP or Windows 7 to launch FS 2004 on that partition, with 10 windows on the other partition my new programs running.  My questions:

Stupid project? If so, why, and is there a better way to accomplish what I'm doing?

A post previous re: FS 2004 has indicated that it is necessary to determine if my FS 32-bit version or a 64-bit. How do I know if my version of FS is 32-bit or 64-bit? It does not say on the package or inserts, and since I can't get the game to run, I paint a white.  FS2004 made even in a 64-bit version?

I'd be better to just buy an old computer with Windows XP or Win 7? (I heard that Windows 7 can run Windows XP games). Thank you

There is a problem (at least) two with your plan.

You will find it difficult to get a legitimate copy of Windows XP or Windows 7.

Even if you find or you already have a retail copy of one, it seems that Lenovo offers not all drivers for Windows XP.  It seems that there are Windows 7 drivers: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-X140e?tabName=Downloads&linkTrack=Mast:SubNav:Support:Drivers % 20and % 20Software | drivers % 20and % 20Software & beta = false

If I were you, I would buy a used computer with Windows XP installed.  Just make sure you get one with a decent video card and enough RAM.  I suspect XP used computers that you will find many companies that had no interest in capacity chart game

If you manage to find a copy of Windows 7 Professional, or buy a computer with Windows 7 Pro already installed (probably about the same price), you can download the Microsoft XP Mode (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8002) and install FS 2004 in the virtual machine.  There is, however, no guarantee that XP Mode works for FS.  Microsoft offers XP Mode for businesses that want to upgrade to Windows 7, but still had management software requires XP.  A decent graphics card was not a problem, and the virtual graphics card in XP Mode is a map of "S3 Trio 32/64" SVGA: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/833144

  • My PC is always low virtual memory. Why does.

Even when my PC does not all open programs, I still have a warning box will appear to tell me that windows is low on virtual memory.

I run XP home edition 2004.

I recently xferred my photo + music files to an external hard drive, but I still tell me that memory is low!

What is the cause + I can do anything to put this right?

Explorer is too slow and often egg or begins to force me to use the Task Manager to close the program does not. Is this related to this memory problem?

    Two points:

    1. What are you describe is a function of two or three of the following:
    (a) who is not enough of physical memory (also called RAM)
    (b) too many programs and processes running (perhaps due to a malware infection)
    (c) incorrect virtual memory configuration
    2. you're confused memory and hard disk space when you say "I recently xferred my photo + music files to a drive external hard but I said always not the memory is low!
    This page explains the difference:
Getting back to your question, you must help us! You need to tell us what you have. Are the following:
-brand, model and model number of your PC
    -SP level
    -amount of RAM
If you are unsure, do a click right my computer and select Properties. Only necessary information should already be showing under the general tab to keep this window open for more later...
    -virtual memory setting
To do this, click on the Advanced System Properties window already open tab. Under performance, click settings. In the new performance Options window, click the Advanced tab. Under virtual memory, this figure is listed as the "Total paging file size for all drives"? Then click the button change.
Assuming that C: drive is highlighted, I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that a custom size is activated (in general, which is not a good idea!). Out of curiosity, what are these two values?
To make life a LOT easier, click on "System managed size". Then click on the Set button. Then click on the OK button. Then click on other buttons OK. Reset.
If you click on the size of the managed system, you must stop to get these annoying messages. (But your work isn't always more. You need see if you have enough RAM, or if there is something on your PC, hogging memory).
-size of the drive C: and the amount of free space available
To do this, double-click my computer. Click view on the menu bar, and then select Details. Under "Drives", what are the values of the size total and free space on C:?
-Tell us what antivirus or suite program you use. Is up to date?
-tell us if you ALL post-SP3 (assuming you have SP3!) security updates installed or not
-We say users of memory of the top 10 in the Task Manager
To do this, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, click on the processes tab click on use of Mem. Click again. (This will give you the biggest users of memory above.) What are the processes of ten albums? And what are the values according to the uses of Mem for each of them?
Manager tasks of maintaining open, click on the performance tab. Then the three values under Commit Charge (k) Note: in the lower left corner: Total, limit and peak.

The Total number represents the amount of memory you are using right now. The vertex figure represents the maximum amount of memory you made since the last boot. If these figures are lower than the value of the amount of physical memory (K), then you probably have lots of RAM. (But I doubt that you do!) Tell us about these figures.

As soon as we have the above information, we will have an idea what your situation is.

Since it's always a good idea to rule out malware (as malware uses a lot of memory, among other things!), you must do the following:

First, run the portable Analyzer of SAS:

    http://www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com/portablescanner.html

Then, run the version FREE of MBAM (not the version pro or trial!):

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

    Let us know the results.

  • Windows XP Home Edition (Version 2002) include SP1 is the Virtual Machine for Java (MSJVM) installed on this and future Service Packs Microsoft remove it?

While the installation of Microsoft DirectX 9.0 c on my Windows XP Home Edition (Version 2002) operating system (not sure if the 2002 version in it's original state included SP1), EULA (EULA) provided the contract included a paragraph stating that "ONLY in regards to THE VIRTUAL MACHINE MICROSOFT FOR JAVA, YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED to INSTALL THIS OS COMPONENT ON A MACHINE THAT CONTAINS A ALREADY the VERSION OF THE MICROSOFT JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE". Assuming that the MSJVM was included with Windows XP Home Edition (Version 2002), I advanced and accepted the EULA. I then downloaded and installed Windows XP SP2 and SP3, but wasn't sure whether SP2 and SP3 removed the MSJVM in any point. However, research on the question, I discovered the site "FAQ of Transition MSJVM" (updated May 7, 2004), who answered the question: ' if I install Windows XP SP1a or later, it will remove my current MSJVM? " with "No, the operating system upgrade will not remove a MSJVM existing on the computer" (http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/en/us/interoperability/java/faq.aspx). However, I can't find any instance of it on my computer.

    So my questions are:

    1. Windows XP Home (Version 2002) Edition include SP1?
    2. The MSJVM is installed on this version?
    3. SP2 or SP3 removes the MSJVM in any point to?

No, I think that must be a typo and they mean "javascript should operate.

I use fscommand() calling javascript anyway, as it does not
in some browsers. getURL ("javascript:functionCall('someargument')"); is
much more reliable. Or, if you are targeting 60.65.0 flash drive or
above, there are the gateway Flash/Javascript (see link below) and
Finally, if you are targeting a flash 8 player there is the
    Class ExternalInterface built in flash.

    Hey there
I just got a new laptop with Windows Vista
installed my Flash MX 2004 and every time I try to import an audio file (mp3 or wav)
    Flash crashes.

I am able to open old files and audio on them works fine.
    Help, please!

    Thank you!

Flash MX 2004 is not supported on Windows Vista. You might have more luck downloading (free) Virtual PC 2007, which makes an image of Windows XP then loading Flash MX 2004 in this image XP instead of Vista. Of course you will need a copy of Windows XP.

Document of Adobe's Windows Vista support:
    http://www.Adobe.com/support/products/PDFs/adobe_products_and_windows_vista.PDF

    Virtual PC 2007: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/virtualpc/default.mspx

Flash CS3 is supported in Vista, if you are looking to upgrade.

  • What App would you recommend to run virtual machines on an Imac?

Ideally, I would like to my main x os to start and then simply turn a small virtual machines or containers from OSX.

Any recommendations? or articles about the support of Apple for such a thing?

    There are three choices:

    Parallels Desktop for Mac

    VM fusion

    VirtualBox

The first two are commercial products. The third is a free, open source. Three Parallels is the best.
